Rented electric bikes from here to ride the causeway and we had the best experience ever. Everyone at this shop was so nice and helpful. We’ve rented bikes from other cities and they don’t come close to this place. Would highly recommend renting bikes from here if you’re in the area.

Had the privilege of renting e-bikes from North Star recently. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. Bikes were in good condition and they provide helmets with each rental. Would definitely recommend them if youre looking for renting a bike in Burlington!

I went in there today just browsing because I was looking for a bike. The one I was looking for is rare to be around these days which is just the nature of the game these days. As a first time bike buyer, everyone I interacted with was incredibly helpful and nice. After a test ride, I had a minor issue of which they immediately remedied for me after I purchased knowing they would fix it. It sounds ridiculous but with the type of service I received, it’ll be worth coming back the 2 hours car ride to get the bike service when needed.

I rented a road bike for four days on a recent visit to Vermont. The bike was fine and the service was great. One staffer even helped me to find a great cycling route out of Montpelier.

North Star Sports helped us out of a bind with a manufacturers defect with and e-Bike we had purchased elsewhere. They handled the repair and dealt with the manufacturer (Gazelle) expertly. While our repair took longer than we wanted, this was due mainly to the manufacturer and not North Star. Overall, we were quite pleased with the service we received.

These folks are awesome! What isnt to love about a bike shop with a dog named Taco roaming around?! They have a great selection of bikes, tools, and gear. The staff is non-pretentious and really friendly. Bikes can be complicated and I like to ask a lot of questions and the entire staff is happy to help, which I really appreciate. Also, if you buy a bike from them you get 10% off accessories going forward.

I had a great experience with North Star Sports. Above and beyond great service - even delivering a bike to my daughter (which is not what they do). I handled everything via phone and everyone I spoke with was great. JP was especially helpful. I highly recommend.

We were allowed to try out electric bikes for several days, which I thought was great. The sales staff kindly helped me raise the handle bars twice to address my back’s idiosyncrasies. And 3 months and hundred of miles later, the staff have helped me solve a problem with my bike rack and have tuned things up. Great service. Love this store.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! Staff was wonderful at fitting us with bikes, making sure we understood our route, and felt comfortable. They also were massively helpful in our time of crisis. While on our beautiful bike journey, we lost a bag that contained my phone and wallet. I didn’t realize this until we arrived back at the bike shop, 5 minutes before close. They let me take the bike back out, helped my remaining family members at the shop, and kept the shop open an additional 45 minutes, until the bag was found. They were very helpful, incredibly kind, and wonderfully understanding. I was in absolute amazement at these wonderful human beings. Not only would I recommend this company for their quality equipment and good rates, their service is (obviously) outmatched.

Ive rented multiple bikes from North Star Sports and have always had a positive experience. They have a huge selection and are very accommodating. (The shop even offers electric bike rentals, which are awesome- I highly recommend taking one out for a spin!) Most importantly, the rental bikes are comfortable and easy to ride. All of North Stars employees are friendly and knowledgeable. Ill never go anywhere else!

The friendly staff helped my brother pick out a Marlin 5 2018 gun metal gray. They were so nice! Helped us pick out a nice water bottel holder that went with the bikes looks and took off the wheels so we could transfer it no questions asked. Even helped us carry it out to the car! My brother will enjoy the bike for sure! Pet taco (store dog) for me.

This place is absolutely great. Ive only been here two or three times, and each time I was blown away. I initially went because I was interested in purchasing a road bike... I cant remember who I spoke with but he spent well over 40 minutes talking to me about my options, what kind of bike would fit me best and so on. We whittled the options down to two bikes and he allowed my friend and I to take them out on a test ride. They were about to close but he said itd be fine. I rode a road bike for the first time ever, and it was awesome. It was a bit too expensive for me at the time though, so I held off. Since then, Ive been back to get equipment and look into repairing my current bike.. and again, we were there close to their closing time and they didnt rush us at all as closing time rolled around. This place is great, and all of the staff Ive met are cyclers themselves with a passion for it. You will not regret coming here at all.

I have been in many bike shops in my day but this one tops them all. I needed to rent a road bike for a charity ride I was doing out in Burlington. The company/ staff at North Star were incredibly responsive and helpful from fast responses to email, calling me to make sure we had the right size bike, and even assembling a new Trek performance bike just for my rental. I was so impressed with their attention to detail. Their customer service and their bike equipment is outstanding.

I came to Burlington with my family for vacation and we brought our bikes to get around town. During one of our stops on the journey up we were rear-ended and my gears were damaged but the mechanic that helped me found another set of gears they had lying around that didnt have bent teeth!! We had a great weekend riding and could not have had more fun (until the rain came!!!)

I have had great experiencess using North Star sports for my biking needs. I know nothing about bikes but I like to ride. I recently needed a quick adjustment. I stopped in and they fixed it immediately. Friendly and welcoming.

I recently bought a complicated electric motor to put on my bicycle to replace my car as much as possible. The motor came with no instructions, tons of parts, and wasnt entirely a correct fit. Bruce who works there was willing to take it on, and had it back to me three days earlier than expected. They went so far above and beyond my expectations, 5 stars isnt anywhere near enough to describe the experience!

After I dropped my bike off to have it tuned up and some parts replaced, I walked back into the shop and overheard their staff trash talking me and my decision to price shop for some of the parts— a decision I made because they were incredibly pushy and sales-y with using high-end/overpriced parts.Id recommend Outdoor Gear Exchange, Old Spokes, or Ski Rack for any bike repair and parts. Theyve all got much nicer folks to work with who are all happy to work with you and encourage you to do your research, rather than upselling, taking advantage, and trashing their customers behind their backs.

I burdened these guys on their biggest day so far this year by walking in at opening time asking if they had a box I could use to unpack my bike into. Id biked to Burlington from Montreal the previous day but couldnt make it home due to an injury, and was relying on finding a way to get my bike on the Greyhound. It happened to be the brightest, warmest day so far this year and they were running bike rental for the droves of people coming through wanting to spend the afternoon outside. The staff gave me a box, tools and packing equipment, and gave me a covered area by the entrance in which to box up the bike. I really appreciated how accommodating they were in spite of the fact they were so busy. Would recommend to anyone!

I had driven 2 hours to Burlington to do a classic bike ride. 4 miles in my shifter broke. I went to the largest bike shop in Burlington and they looked at it and said that they would have to order a part and even if they had it, they wouldnt have time to put it on. They suggested I try North Star. What an amazing experience. The mechanic put it on the stand, diagnosed the problem and said that she didnt have the part. However she called 2 other bike shops to check if they had it. She then offered to rent me a bike so I could do the ride I had driven 2 hours to do. She then said she could fix my bike so that I had 2 gears to use which is what I did. When I asked to pay, she said it was free because they couldnt fix it.If you are ever in Burlington go to North Star rather than Ski Rack!!!

Absolutely top-notch service. Over the past two days I spent nearly 6-hours with Jay, J.P, and Rob going over road-bikes to find the precise fit for me. Ive never had a shop spend so much individual time with a prospective customer--throughout the whole experience they never pressured me to go with the higher-end, but rather they focused all efforts on getting me setup for a bike I would love. Working with Jay was a real treat, he obviously knows how to make magic happen on a bike--and was gracious enough to spend as much time sharing knowledge and Q&Aing me to find what I needed. We spend at least an hour fine-tuning two bike sizes for my fit before decided which was correct.Bar-none, this is my dedicated shop from here out. The only negative I could imagine with their shop is that you may have to wait a bit to receive their 5-star treatment, but the only reason for it is that they are generous with their time with every customer.Go when you need something that is *right*, not something fast. Let them show and share their knowledge, and I guarantee you will be leaving a 5-star review as well.

As a bike commuter, and utility cyclist, I have a hard time finding bike shops that carry what I look for. Most local bike shops in my home area (north Jersey) stock items that racer wannabees look for. So I purchase most of my gear online.This bike shop is much different from what I am used to. I stopped in to purchase a multi-tool while vacationing in Vermont, and left with a pile of stuff. Their product stock is wide, and they know riders. The staff was totally helpful, and they stayed open late as I was grabbing bike bling. Id shop here again. I wish theyd open a store in my town.

You cant beat these folks. This has been our go-to place for 20+ years for anything bike-related for us and our two daughters, now 23 and 25, for all their bikes and equipment growing up. Super knowledgeable and friendly, willing to spend all the time you need in order to help determine the right type and fit.

I came into North Star needing a fairly obscure pulley for my road bike and within minutes their mechanic had dug through the bins to find me a solution and helped install it! They only charged me for the part too! Highly recommended!

They also have a great free tuning policy for the first 30-60 riding days, plus 10% off everything after purchasing the bike is pretty chill too, glad to be their customer.

These guys helped us in a pinch when we were 110 miles into a 400 mile bike trip (touring). They created a temporary fix for a pretty unfortunate derailer/crank issue and helped my dad with his shifter for pretty cheap and got us out on the road within 30 minutes. I cant stand it when bike guys are arrogant and convince you that you need all new stuff or you will look dumb, but that is pretty normal I suppose. Status quo on the respect-coolness-customer-service factor, excellent on the get-me-back-on-the-road factor.These guys know their stuff.
