We went to get our rental bikes and Jordan (the person who helped us) was so helpful and explained us everything very patiently. I haven’t experienced such a great customer service in a while. He helped us install dog crate we bought. Gave us directions to the bike trail! So informative and without the knowledge it would’ve taken us a while because there was construction going on. Thank you Jordan for such an exceptional service!!! Would definitely recommend!!!

Ridiculously helpful staff. We wanted to rent a bike trailer for our dog, but they only had a trailer available for kids. The staff was extremely patient and helpful in trying to make the trailer work for our dog. Ultimately they determined it probably wasnt safe, so they actually recommended we buy a pet trailer from across the street. When we brought our own pet trailer, they were more than happy to attach it to one of their rental bikes for us. This whole process took over an hour, and they didnt get frustrated with us newbies even once.

Jordan was extremely helpful and so supportive throughout the bike rental process. We didnt make it easy for him with our puppy needing a trailer but he was enthusiastic regardless of what we threw at him. We honestly loved the collection at Skirack and wanna go there again very soon!

The folks working at Skirack were just the best. The bike department went above and beyond to get my son’s bike back on the rode in a timely manner. He is 12 and wanted to be independent in advocating for himself to get his bike fixed. They treated him with respect and in his words “had a great sense of humor” . I highly recommend the bike department for all your biking needs.

Never go to this shop, literally any other will do fine. I brought my bike in to do a relatively easy dropper post fix, and got my bike back 3 weeks later. The workers broke a small part within the dropper post system, and had me buy a new one rather than providing the part they broke. This process took a week and a half total. After bringing the part in, I was told that my bike would be ready to be picked up the next Friday, which I was totally fine for. I was not fine when they completely forgot to get to my bike, this was confirmed by the employee the Saturday after when they said we dropped the ball. They ended up getting it done on Sunday, and when I brought it back to my room, I realized that the rear tire was COMPLETELY deflated, and the shifting cord that they decided to reroute was not cut at all, and overhung an entire foot.DO NOT GO HERE FIND ANY OTHER SHOP IN THE VACINITY

Purchased a Thule T2 over Easter Weekend from Doug. We stayed at the Hilton near by and leaving the next morning for a ski trip.Doug coordinated with the Hotel so we could pick it up on our way back home on Easter Sunday when the store was closed.Doug also sent me an installation YouTube video so I can easily install it on my vehicle and quickly be on my way.Doug provided beyond exemplary customer service that is not easily duplicated. We look forward to our next Burlington visit and we will surely be shopping at Skirack because of Doug Stewart and team. We will share our experience  with friends and family for years to come.

Ive always really liked these guys. I bought my kids their starter bikes, their youth bikes, and both my wife and I two bikes each over the years. However, I tried to buy a Specialized Turbo Como SL 5.0, and for whatever reason, they chose not to inventory this bike. I was told they can order one for me, but it might arrive in a month or it might not come in till January. I could not get a straight answer out of the salesperson and he pretty much gave me a it is what it is kind of attitude. So I went home and I got on the Specialized website and did a search for a Specialized dealer that had the bike in inventory. That was last Friday. Yesterday, Wednesday, I drove down to Pittsfield, Mass and picked up my new bike. I will service my new bike at the Skirack, because I trust these guys to do good work. I hope they become more committed to the e-bike business, because I will be buying a second one within the next two years.** Update today 8/3/21First Id like to thank the owner for responding to my review. Secondly, like I said Ive always liked these guys, Im on my way there right now to take my new bike to get tires and some other accessories.

Most knowledgeable guys in town for ski boot fitting. Shopped all over town at the other guys and these guys knew their stuff the best. Custom fitting and amazing service. Fast turn around on mounting my gear when I bought it.. Toe needed to be blown out a little brought it in and even though they were busy did it for me while I waited so I could still ski the next day.

Skirack has always been such a great place for me. Bicycle tune ups, snow equipment, and a great selection of outerwear and soft goods.I have bought all of my snowboards at Skirack. All of the folks are knowledgeable but I have to recommend Derek specifically. My last 5 board purchases have been solely on his recommendation. Ill think I know what I want, he recommends something else, I hem and haw and eventually buy it, and realize he was right of course! No surprise since he gets to ride basically everything on the market. The tune shop downstairs has always done an excellent job on my boards too. 10/10 recommendation - no hesitation

EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT SERVICE! Huge appreciation to Skirack – particularly Sam Hewitt. Was scouring the internet looking for large-size cross country ski boots with very little luck and very little help from the retail world. Fortunately, I happened on Skirack all the way across the country. Sam knows his equipment and his vendor reps … and was willing to contact them for me. Sam also made spot-on recommendations for my skis. I prefer to shop locally but this northern California consumer is quite happy with Vermont right now.

If you want to go someplace with top of the line customer service, SKI RACK is where you want to go!I brought my incredibly painful ski boots (that I purchased someplace else several years ago) in to the ski rack this weekend to see if there was anything they could do to help or if I needed new boots. One of the sales guys spent almost 2 hours with me, measuring my feet, listening to my feedback and being extremely helpful and patient. I have a tough foot to size and he did not have what I needed in stock. Instead of selling me another painful boot he sent me to another store that did have what I needed. Doug was willing to give up a sale to make sure I got the boot I needed! That was pretty incredible. I will be going back there to get my new boots fitted and they will be my 1st stop whenever I need equipment going forward. I bought a bike from them several years ago and had a great experience then as well. I can not say enough positive things about my experience with them!

I bought a pair of ski boots here and I love them. All the staff are great and very helpful, assisted me in fitting, heat-molding, and a few other tweaks to the boots and they are now perfect (all free if you buy the boots from them). Special thanks to Jimmy, Doug, and Soren, those guys are dope.

Incredibly helpful and friendly staff, well stocked store! Took a long road trip to VT for some good road cycling in mid-June, upon arrival I realized I had forgotten my bike shoes at home. Went to the Skirack in Burlington for new shoes and after some excellent assistance was riding later that day. Shoes ended up really killing my feet. Went back to Skirack for a fix and everybody there was incredible! While they fitted me for a better shoe, they also tuned my bike (it had been ghost shifting on climbs). Found a new pair of shoes and they exchanged the used ones no problem. In and out the door in less than an hour totally happy with new gear and tuned bike. The tech even test rode my bike before releasing it, and they didnt charge me for the tune up. Everyone we interacted with at the Skirack was friendly and helpful, nice to be around in normal times and especially appreciated in these trying times.

Great shop with a fairly expansive selection of outdoor gear. Prices can be a bit higher than some other places in the area, but that comes with the selection and quality. Staff is usually very helpful and knowledgeable. I would, however, say that my experiences with the Skirack bike shop have been very hit or miss. Ive had great service there before but my most recent trips have been terrible, especially considering the relatively high price you pay to have work done here. All and all though, its a great shop I recommend to most people

Thanks for the help getting Red Sven ready for our summer road trip. Doug and the team at SkiRack have a full line of thule. Plus bikes, skis and everything you need to get up and down a mountain. Right in downtown Burlington but with parking out back. I left my car and when I returned my Thule setup was ready to go. This store is well equipped for outdoor fun and they have knowledgeable staff for beginners to experts. Great stop to get what you need in the 802.

Went to shop at the store today and was advised to use their hand sanitizer in order to enter the store to shop as it is store policy. I informed the store employee that I am allergic to hand sanitizer and they responded again that it is store policy. No alternative accommodations offered. Very disappointed with a company that requires a chemical to be applied in order to shop.

One of the only places around that had the POC bike helmet I was looking for. The young kid with glasses (and backwards hat, sorry I forgot your name!!) was super friendly and very helpful!! I went in to Skirack to buy a bike. I have never owned a bike and needed some extra care and attention. The sales associate that helped me was Marissa. She was patient, compassionate and incredibly helpful. I walked out with a shiny new Raleigh Bike as well as accessories like a water bottle mount and helmet. They have a great deal if you purchase a bike there, you get 10% off bike accessories -- and not just on the day you purchase the bicycle. My husband will be buying his bike there as well and he is not an impulse buyer. He has gone in several times to test ride it, understand the sizing, discuss features, looking up add on options, etc and he has been working with Jimmy. Jimmy was there the day I picked up my bike and I could tell he was amazing to work with as well. He immediately remembered my husband and asked if he wanted to see the Bike again-- customer recognition at its finest. Everyone in the store seems so friendly and helpful. This is the BEST place to buy running shoes. They have a great variety and understand fit and gait so you leave with a pair that will work for you. My knees have been happier ever since I get shoes that work for me.

The mechanics will work with you to fix your bike exactly as you want (type of parts/set up). They do excellent work and the staff is super friendly and the turn around time is great. It is a little annoying that they require you to take off the bindings off of your snowboard or they charge extra for a wax. Prices are a bit high as well but you are paying for quality work. Overall very happy.

I searched high and low for a particular bike, during the COVID19 shut-in, and found it in only two places (Skirack in VT and a shop in the UK). I went with Skirack and am so glad I did. Mike in web sales was super friendly and informative. He, along with buyer Ross, shipped my bike to VA, and made sure I was completely satisfied. Their excellent customer service makes me want to visit VT for a bike ride, and to say, “Thank you!” In person.

As a lot of people know, it has been very challenging to buy a bike because of the effects of Covid 19 has had on the economy, businesses, inventory etc.. After weeks of looking, I found the bike I wanted at Shirack at lower price than any other bike store. I live in Atlanta, GA and the store is located in Burlington, VT. I bought the bike online and the process was seamless. It came on time, packed well and any questions I emailed them they responded in a very timely manner. They are professional and easy to work with. I highly recommend them and appreciate Wills help throughout the process.

Was charged full price for a ski service even though I brought them in during the 20% Ski Service Sale. I was also charged $10 for a base repair that is supposed to be included with the premium ski tube. The younger man that helped me had his mask falling down, not covering his nose. When a business had an employee exposed to Covid, someone obviously wasn’t thinking or he blatantly didn’t care. The older employee also caused two customers to not purchase anything due to his attitude. He was very abrupt and rude with another customer who was about to make a purchase, but the way he acted caused her to leave her entire purchase in the parking lot and go to Alpine Shop. Every question that customers asked the older employee was answered with, “Oh, I’m not sure”, then he would proceed to run inside with no acknowledgement of where he went. Also, to pick up a pair of skis should not take 25 minutes. I know I won’t be recommending or using Skirack ever again.

They helped fit and adjust my boots, that I hadnt purchased there, and were awesome. Im a fairly new skier and dont have much of a clue about what im doing. Mike helped give me tips on wearing them and made sure that they were ready for my skill level. There was no pressure to buy anything, and it seemed like Id just gone over to my buddys house for some help. It was great and I highly recommend them.

Fantastic service and good advise, from a professional maintenance crew. I had a complete re-fit done on my bike and It was the best thing I could have done for my 65 year old body. Just rode 52.7 miles yesterday and improved my speed and was very comfortable on my bike. A friend commented that I looked totally different on my bike, and thought that I had gotten a new bike. Highly suggest that if you are riding long distances and a frequent rider you invest in a re-fit at the Ski Rack! Two thumbs up!!!!

Shopped for an electric bike at many spots, but ended up buying a fabulous electric bike by Specialized at the SkiRack, in no small part to the SkiRack staff!They spent a lot of time -- a lot! over multiple days -- working with me, answering questions, having me do comparison test rides, and making me feel comfortable. Everyone was very friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and worked well together as a staff team. I hadnt owned a bike in a very long time so all of their advice really helped me. They did one final once-over on the bike once I bought it, and delivered it right to my door. All in all, a great experience, and now I have a great bike. Special shoutouts to Jake, Jimmy and Max.One of my favorite shops in town -- I have been going to since I was a kid in the 1970s, and I am never disappointed.

Ski Rack earned my forever loyalty in 2 visits. The 3rd was just icing on the cake.First visit was to get my and my fiancé’s bikes in for service. Even during this pandemic, their customer service was outstanding. Chris, the service tech, was incredibly helpful, patient, and downright nice to work with. He went over our bikes and our needs, and even though it was all pretty routine it still stood out as exceptional.The second visit was to test ride 2 bikes. I was over an hour late to my original appointment time (which I communicated with them throughout the day as to my timing) and they were nothing but understanding. Jimmy was who I worked with and he had both of the bikes ready and waiting, all dialed in to my weight and height. He listened to my spiel and was very responsive to my wants and what I was looking for out of a bike. He took the time to listen and understand, and then responded accordingly. I ended up purchasing one of the bikes, and they got me setup with a new Thule rack bike holder as my current one wouldn’t accommodate a through axel. Extremely impressive customer experience. I couldn’t rate it higher.Then today, 3rd visit, I brought my new bike by for a touch up tune after the first ride. They took care of me and got me back on my way very efficiently. Again, just amazing service. I am not sure of the name of the service tech that was working the night of 6/4, but he was awesome. Walked me through a few pointers, helped me get my bike dialed in to my preferences after the first ride, and exceeded all expectations of customer service.The entire team at Ski Rack has been awesome. We came from out of state to do an organized bike ride on Champlain island. We reserved hybrid bikes via email. The staff is very responsive to email. The bikes were ready when we arrived for pickup. We also rented a rack for the car. It was $35 for a 24 hour rental. The rack was $20. You park behind the store in their Free lot. The store is huge with a lot of merchandise. The staff is very friendly. There is a water cooler you can fill your water bottle. The Burlington trail is a few blocks from store. Its a paved route that goes 11 miles to Champlain island. We biked five miles of it. It goes along the lakes beach and forested areas.

Ive been a Ski Rack customer since the late 1980s and have purchased several bikes from them. I have had over all very good service and results using their store. You might pay a bit more here but they give back with amazing service and inventory, and their ability to get what they dont have is lightning quick. I had a problem yesterday morning with some work previously done and need a warranty repair FAST. I met with Chris in service who was extremely polite and helpful and resolved the issue for me and got me parts pronto so that I could enjoy my bike that afternoon. I can highly recommend Ski Rack for bike sales and service. Updating this review 5 years later and I stand by what I said above to this day. Ill add that I recently had issues with gearing on my Gravel bike. The Ski Rack assisted me with new gearing at what I consider to be a reasonable price. Again it was Chris who helped me out. I am a year round bike commuter, and I use this locally owned store as the main place for shopping for clothes that are perfect for comunting by bike and wearing for work. I find clothes here that have dual form and function purpose. They also use bike benefits, which is another reason I love this store.

I think Doug is the best for Ski Boot fittings. He paid attention to every detail about the fit of the boots and the way that it supports my skiing. He tried to get me into less expensive boots, and then still got me a great deal on the more expensive ones which I decided to go with. Great experience!

I had an amazing experience at Ski Rack last night working with Dale. He is extremely knowledgeable and made sure that he found me the right ski equipment for my level. He also made sure that I was happy with the aesthetic of the equipment I was buying, which is really important to me! He made the process very easy and let me ask a bunch of dumb questions because Ive never purchased my own equipment before. Im so excited to get my new skis and hit the slopes this weekend! The store is neat and organized and the staff are friendly. I got a flat tire while biking to work a few months back and they were able to fix it in time for me to come and get it during my scheduled break the same day. The service was great, the repair was high quality and they charged me less than other places around town would have. I will return if I need any other repairs or equipment.

Long time loyal customer anyways. Decided to try Skirack for my ski boots, as I heard not only their selection and boot-fitting is excellent but also could help with the skeletal/stance stuff that is a game-changer for me. They get high marks in all regards-- they had a 22.5 boot with a smaller last size and proceeded to customize it in every way (have my own recipe card now) and identified some areas I hadnt even noticed. Results are paying off on the hill for sure. Thank you!

I am so glad I purchased my trail running shoes at Ski Rack rather than online. There was a small friction point on the pair I bought last week. 18 miles later I had a painful sore on my arch. The guaranteed fit at Ski Rack allowed me to trade in for a different style shoe. I will always purchase at Ski Rack from now on. Great service.

It is so funny how the owner picks and chooses his comment on the positive comments but leaves the negative comments without response. I would not go to this place unless it is your last resort. The employees (and by the comments, the owner) feel you are lucky to be in this place. There are a lot of better options for no matter what you are looking for (bikes, skis, etc.). Dont go here is my opinion. Customer service gets an F even in Vermont.

We called Skirack with a number of emergency repair needs and a desire to use our bikes within 24 hours. We emailed damage pictures to Lindsey who diagnosed the problem(s) and worked her schedule around to get us in for service. She stayed in contact with us about what we wanted, what the bike needed, educated us about our options and costs, and then got the bikes ready to go. The service was AMAZING and even though its more than an hour drive for us, we will be bringing our bikes back to Skirack for all of our service and repair needs. Fantastic customer service! The manager of the upstairs/ski department helped fit me with some super comfortable alpine boots. They were incredibly crowded because of a weekend sale, but the staff spent a bunch of time with me, helping me find the right boot. I was also happy to see that the manager takes care of her staff. Because her sales staff was so busy, she ordered pizza for her crew. It seems they take care of their customers and their employees. Id definitely shop here again!

Ross helped me fit and mold my boots. He knew what he was doing and gave an excellent level of customer service. I have been to several boot fitting shops in Colorado and Vermont. Out of all of them, Ross was one of the most professional and honest boot fitters I have had. I would recommend anyone to go and buy their boots here.

Wow - talk about service!! My “some assembly required” bike for my daughters birthday showed up less assembled than it should have been. Not only did the mechanic get me in when he was already behind on orders, but he identified a safety issue with a broken brake caliper and fixed that too. It was the first warm spring Friday in New England, so you can imagine how busy the shop was. He took the extra time, looked out for my kiddo’s safety, and made her birthday a great experience. I already shop there for skiing equipment and clothing, but they earned my loyalty for my cycling needs as well

After shopping Ski Rack for about 15 years, I have total confidence that I’ll get exceptional guidance in making a selection. This is why I don’t even bother shopping elsewhere…the difference is the team. My wife and I joke that the run center is like Cheers, where everyone knows your name. I have bought several bikes from here.Most other places I have visited looking at bikes, I have felt pressure to buy a bike that day and if I wasnt about to buy a bike that, people gave up helping me/talking to me. Really? To normal people dropping a few thousand bucks is a very large purchase.At Skirack the bike sales staff talk to me about the bikes as if I were their best friend. No pressure to get me to buy a bike that day and told me that I should never buy a bike without a test ride. Ive had quick (under 5 min) bike repairs/adjustments for no charge.This is why Skirack is my LBS.

I bought my first pair of nice ski boots here three years ago and recently needed to get them heat molded again to accommodate my wide feet. Not only was the process of speaking with their employees pleasant, they serviced them for free for me even though it had been past their one year of service policy. Sure, some gear is pricy but the service with it is WELL worth it.

I have to share: came in recently on a break to pick up some XC equipment. Both sales team members in the XC area were busy helping other customers. An employee on his way out, fully dressed, asked if he could help me, took his coat off, and got me the equipment i needed all with a smile, mind you. You just dont find people that care like that at most shops anymore. Would always recommend this place based on the customer service alone.

My primary experience at Skirack is with the bicycle department and it has been very positive. Both the sales and service teams are knowledgeable, friendly and un-intrusive to the shopping experience. Pricing is quite good. The service menu is extensive, and the pricing is competitive. The selection and pricing in the shop is also competitive.

These guys are simply the best. Great service, friendly people. Go there once and you will wonder if online shopping and big box stores have a future.John Servin

Jon (general outdoor enthusiast and marathon veteran with/without orthotics) and Emily (super patient and knowledgeable half and marathon runner) spent 2 hours on two separate days each to help me and my wife work through 5 pairs of shoes to best accommodate our new orthotics. Emily did gait analyses via video on each pair of shoes as well as talked us through the process until we each had the perfect new set of running shoes for our next half iron. Fantastic customer service and consultation. Thank you very much to Jon and Emily both for their outstanding effort. The shoe selection may be smaller in terms of fridge models, but as these people know what theyre doing, they have a shoe brand and model to solve each and every running problem.

Hard to get customer service, not able (willing?) to spend the time to help an older (50-ish) customer understand the different types of bike helmets and why one would be better than another. (Its just which one you like the look of.)
