Cosmic Grind is an amazing coffee shop in church street and if you haven’t been, make it your first stop next time you head into Burlington. The coffee is fresh, the interior (which you’ll just have to peep at from the glass windows as currently there is only takeaway service) is gorgeous, the service is friendly and quick, and there are so many options it’s hard to go wrong. You can also feel good supporting a business that supports and cares about the community it exists in.Personally I recommend a hot latte with hazelnut and maple for a delicious, nutty flavor! The “Red Velvet” latte is also a must try! Rich and chocolate-y without being too bitter or sweet. My only gripe was that the menu is so big and I’m so indecisive that I wished it was online so I could decide in advance! So now it’s posted here!
Fantastic little place, first time I have had Iced hot chocolate 🥰
Delicious coffee w/a multiplicity of flavor options... but expensive.Warm, competent employees... but long wait times because theres only two people running the show.
We really enjoyed our drinks (coffee with cream and Davis Eyes) and the even though it was busy and the space is dark and somewhat cramped, the staff kept calm and cool and kept the atmosphere chill. We would return but wish the ingredients of the drinks were posted!
Seriously the best coffee shop in Burlington!! Fantastic organic and sustainably sourced coffee options for everyone, whether youre in need of a serious boost or like it sweet and decadent. Not to mention that the staff are some of the kindest and most genuine people you’ll ever meet! So much love and care goes into every cup💓
Went for the first time this week, so good! A bit expensive but totally worth it + the drink size is really decent.
Love this place! Super nice staff, dog friendly, great drinks. Me and my dog love swinging by for an afternoon caffeine boost and a Stanley spotting if hes working that day. Throughout the pandemic theyve still managed great customer service while navigating difficult situations.
Great coffee, imaginative menu, super friendly owners. I wish the space was bigger so I could kill some hours inside! Easy to miss - don’t sleep on this joint!
High quality coffee concoctions, created by expert barista. Did not see any food.
While visiting Burlington we were told by a worker that we were not allowed to sit at their outdoor tables because we did not order from their restaurant. When the encounter happened the man was EXTREMELY aggressive with his body language and words. He used foul language and was not professional. He yelled at us about traveling during a pandemic without asking us if we had been vaccinated. The hostess was just as rude and aggressive. Never internationally or domestically have I been treated in such an aggressive manner. Like a school yard bully. If they had approached us with a nicer tone we would have been happy to relocate. I could on and on, but my final word is don’t go there. It was very unsettling and disturbing.
Had a great iced tea. The delivered to us at the outside seating area. Fun place to people watch.
Best coffee place youll find in Burlington! I swear, Paula and Ian are coffee gods. Everything they make is legit amazing. Not only are their drinks amazing, but they are very eco-friendly. We not only enjoy dropping by for a great cup of joe, but also because they are so kind and friendly. Highly recommend stopping by any chance you get. You wont regret it!
Sweetest of the sweetest staff. Always on the grind and always with love. Amazing Coffee is just another perk.
Perfect drink, exceptional service!
Best coffee in town! So many choices to choose from, great atmosphere, dog friendly, and eco-friendly! You must stop by for a delicious cup of coffee and more!
Best place ever! discovered this past summer and my partner and i have not stopped coming since !! always great service and a great place to sit on church street to have some coffee or italian soda :)!
This coffee shop may be small, but the effect this place leaves on you is out of this world. Each individual associated with this place are the most genuine and welcoming people. It would be a shame to pass by this place without stopping by for great coffee. AND. COMPOSTABLE EVERYTHING? I can’t get enough of this place.
My favorite coffee shop in all the land. Run by beautiful people and always on point!
Great lattes and a great staff! There are plenty of options but this is where I go when Im on Church Street and want a latte.
Best coffee shop in Burlington!
Best coffee in town, and with so many options for flavor. They also sell also sell Italian soda and baked pastries. Supportive of local artists as well.
The Cosmic Grind is such a cool little coffee shop in downturn Burlington. Its small, but nice and cozy and the folks there are super friendly. Theyve put a lot of thought and effort into the decor and overall vibe of the place. Oh, the coffee is great too, and they have pastries.
Wonderful staff. Very knowledgeable, friendly and patient. Drink are always the best quality and so tasty.
Nice little hole in the wall coffee shop. We were looking for a decent cup of coffee in the Burlington area and came across this place before hitting up our brunch. Great and friendly service, the place is charming and eclectic and the coffee was delicious! He actually knew about local coffee shops in Montreal which really impressed me! If youre in the area, stop by! Better than the bland coffee I got in Winooski!
Dude working at this place is a pretty legit trip and a half. Loved the vibes and the dog at this place and will definitely be returning the next time I’m in Burlington Vermont.
Normal priced, good coffee, artistic interior and amazing specialty drinks that change
Great staff working here, and great coffee too - wish they were open 24/7! They have so many different lattes to choose from, idk how anyone ever decides.
What a unique place. Recently started trying all the coffee shops in Burlington and this one definitely has the most unique flavors. I highly recommend the girl scout cookie latte.
This used to be one of my favorite coffee shops, though it’s quite expensive. However, the last time I went, February 2020, there were several dogs inside, including one behind the counter where food and drink was being served. The dogs were jumping up other customers and on the counters, knocking items from the coffee bar onto the snowy, muddy floor. I won’t be returning unless they change their policy about allowing pets inside.
Ian is a bright light in challenging times. His products, shop and attitude are all 5 star.
A friend and I stopped in here for a Vermonter Latte and a vanilla latte (can’t quite remember the name). The barista was super nice, polite, and made our orders quickly. Most importantly, the coffee was DELICIOUS. The lattes were a perfect blend of flavor, not too sweet, and the perfect temp. Will definitely make it a stop every visit to Burlington!
Drinks are always great, staff are polite and very friendly, cups are compostable
Love this place, the owner is so nice and very chill. The drinks are my favorite in town!
Great variety of sandwiches, good ingredients and a very friendly staff. This is one of the only places in Chittenden Country to scratch that Italian sub itch.
Super happy with my double espresso. Quick prep. Professional service. Funky place!
From out of town. First time there. My wife made a comment about the hotel coffee being bad and needing good coffee. Staff bought her coffee. Both of our coffees were great! No cream or sugar needed.
Great little spot for a nice latte or cappuccino or just some regular coffee
First time having iced tea here and its great! Workers are very nice and make everything really good. I recommend coming here!
A friend and I from across the lake were looking for a coffee or tea shop on Church St. before heading home. We stopped into the first one we saw, which was this place. We walked in and noticed it smelled delicious. As we were looking at the menu on the wall, the man working paid no attention to is as customers. Not even a hello. Instead he continued to clean and walk out the back door to throw a box away. He came back in and we asked what their options for decaf were, as one of us is a coffee lover but sensitive to too much of the stuff. He pointed to a coffee carafe along the wall that said decaf and said that was it. Not bothering to mention any of the lower caffeine teas and Italian sodas listed on another menu board on the opposite wall. We ordered a single special drink and the employee looked absolutely miserable doing his job. He handed her the coffee and quietly said the amount. He rang us out and we wished him a good day. Were not even sure he replied as he spoke with a very quiet tone to the point it was barely understandable. Needless to say, we went a few doors down to another coffee stand in the corner and ordered a decaf maple latte, thanking the female working for greeting us and looking forward to serving customers. Ill never step foot in this location again. It was a terrible first experience on Church St., where everyone always seems so happy go lucky!
Absolutely amazing. I ordered a London Fogg latte w/ almond milk and it was the best Ive ever had. I cant imagine how good their coffee must be if something as simple as their tea was great.
Definitely on the quirky side of coffee shops ive been to. It has a local, hipster vibe and the employees always look the part
Finally made a point to stop in for a drink after some friends have recommended it. The barista was super friendly and added to the pleasant environment. I brought my greyhound in who is well behaved but can be very shy and everyone was super gentle with her. They have a dog that was super respectful of her space so definitely a dog friendly place! The iced chai was awesome and I will definitely be coming back.
This is the best coffee shop in Burlington. All the cool people hang out here. Sam is the best dog, he is a good boi. Almost everyone who goes there is a regular, its like Cheers without the alcohol. All the best gossip and street knowledge can be had here. Everyone who works there is wicked cool and you should tip them. They also got CBD, so mind your Ps and Qs.
The specialty mocha selection is amazing, and the staff is always so friendly!
My favorite place to go for coffee. cool people and art on the walls and ceiling, and I can bring my Newfoundland in. Love ❣️
Great prices, better brew and some lethally chill vibes
Excellent little coffee shop with a friendly environment more variety than Starbucks at a few dollars less that still supports the local Vermont economy instead of going to Starbucks up the street. Now my go to when I go to when visiting Burlington.
The local hole in the wall coffee joint for locals and tourists alike who arent fussy and know what they want. Staff, often very friendly, can be a little ornery at times but the coffee is worth it. Good stuff.
Amazing little hidden gem of a caffeine den with crazy friendly and capable staff.
Best and cheapest coffee in the Market Place area. A variety of self serve gourmet coffee flavors, unlike some that only carry one each of light, medium and dark roasts.
Cool spot, but the menu doesnt tell you whats in any of the drinks
Love the London lattes (Earl grey )
Great coffee. Fair prices. Owners dog is a good boy.
We stopped in for two chai lattes and the service was quick and good. Definitely not a place you hang out in for awhile since its small, but good for grabbing a drink and walking around.
Awesome little coffee shop on Church Street. My go-to is their regular latte.
Visiting from massachusetts and honestly the best coffee i’ve ever had
The coffe has so much flavor and is so smooth. The almond bliss was delish!!!!
Friendly knowledgeable barrista and great coffee.
I was completely in the wrong before! Love this coffee and the staff! So much love their way!
Totally cosmic coffee. Best folks, best vibe.
Ive been going here for almost 6 years now. I love everything about this shop—the baristas, the coffee, the customers (youll find some of the most interesting people from all over the world here!), as well as the layout inside and outside the shop (they have a lovely outdoor patio). They offer some awesome coffee alternatives too (nice tea selection, chai lattes, Italian and creme sodas). The redesign looks phenomenal. I highly recommend coming to this local, employee-owned coffee shop and buying some of their fair trade and organic certified coffee (roasted in VT by Backcountry Coffee), for The Cosmic Grind is truly out of this world!
Great coffee for being a hole in the wall
Damn good cup of coffee.
Awesome service and amazing brew. The cold brew is fantastic!
Delicious, local coffee. The redesign is absolutely marvelous!
My stop for organic coffee and specialty drinks. A drink for almost everyone.
Great coffee. Small area. A place to grab coffee to go.
I like this place but have a tough time catching them open
Fantastic baristas and blends! My favorite commuter coffee shop in Burlington by far.
Great service and recommendations! The Vermonter Maple Latte hit the spot!
This place is honestly the worst coffee shop in all of downtown Burlington. They changed their name and sign but its still just as dirty as the old Speeder and Earls but now with even worse coffee and higher prices
This place is lit
Had a latte that set my whole day up right
Great espresso and friendly staff!
Good coffee, pastries, and friendly service.
Wonderful Coffee..but no place to sit
Im not hip enough for the place. Cramped location.
Place feels like home to me.
Best coffee in burlington.
Whenever I try a new coffee joont, I order a basic latte, with milk. Its such a simple drink but hard to do very well. I was very impressed with my first latte at this coffee shop. The next stop I ordered a Vermont latte with oat milk and wow! The best latte Ive ever had. Not too sweet, and you couldnt tell it was a milk substitute. I dont get fancy coffee often -- I generally drink black brewed coffee at home or at work where its free -- so when I do get myself a treat, this is where I will go.
