Really great selection of local fresh produce, beer, kombucha, and basically everything else! Was visiting out of town, favorite part was the Aqua Tea kombucha on tap. Ended up being about the same price as buying their retail bottles but you also get to pick really cute labels which is nice if you plan to reuse the bottles. Everything is well stocked and store is very clean. Check out was quick, service was great.
Love the entire concept of this place! Becoming a member is a great idea to help focus a buy local approach. Great selection especially since you can buy packaged or package your own food like tea, coffee, olive oil, honey and nuts. You can even make your own peanut butter! The hot bar has delicious offerings for every eater and ready mage sandwiches if you need to just grab and go. Please stop in and give it a try and remember there are benefits to membership!
We picked up some prepared items here for dinner and it was great. Friendly people and great selection as well.
I love the store and could spend so much money. It is expensive, but if you want to go local, sustainable and organic, this is the place to go. Ample parking! In the winter, get a coffee across the street at Nomad. In the summer, get a CM sandwich and walk down to the beach. Awesome!
Like downtown city market but out of the way and too much like Healthy Living for its own good. Convenient if you live/work in the South End or drive.
Love City Market! Good products, good staff. Coops build strong communities. The 1st City Market opened in BTV downtown when it was a food wasteland. The new store is now anchoring South End and taking on the big corporates. SUPPORT YOUR COMMUNITY!
Best co-op in the country, as far as Ive found.
Sweet co-op! Only thing I’d say is it could really use more vegan/gf options in the prepared food section.
A great store with healthier selections and an extremely helpful staff always ready to help u with any questions u have! My home away from home lol! Well, when theres not a pandemic anyway. 😆
Wild experience seeing the new City Market, even bigger and nicer than the one downtown!
Best sandwhiches!!!!! love this store and everything the co-op works hard for. great little local grocery store that keeps it very fresh.
First time here and I love it! a little pricey but you get what you pay for. We will be back
They were great but the only problem was that they were only making sandwiches by phone and they had no chicken salad sandwiches premade
First time here, I like Jasmine’s sushi in this mkt, ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ this place, enough parking for customers.
Great market for organic and local foods. Cool, friendly staff. Good meat selection, solid organic produce and grocery. Clean and nice venue.
I love how clean and spacious this city market is
Nice store with a bunch of quality and organic products. New in town and didnt know the store well and the staff was able to direct me to what I needed!
So many goodies. I always spend too much.
City market is doing a commendable job, with wonderfully attentive staff and management. I especially appreciate the lines when capacity is reached, so that there isnt some sort of cramped feeling with social distancing still possible.
Excellent selection great staff, affordable prices, and not crowded at all. Plus, its right near a residential area, specifically my favorite ex boyfriends grandmothers house, who turned out to be homophobic, but I digress. Plenty of organic and fair trade food for the discerning customer, as well as my favorite hippie treat: fruit leather. More accessible and plentiful parking make this a better co op than its sister site off of Church Street, which itself is just a short drive away.
Love this place; best customer service, hardly ever long lines, great produce. Were very fortunate to have such a wonderful resource in this town. Expensive, but so is everything here. :)
What a beautiful store! It is a high end supermarket but they carry some great items. Sandwiches and coffee were great. Everyone was friendly. They even have the small wagons for kids. Everything looked and smelled fresh.
I prefer this location due to its parking lot, however, the cashiers I’ve encountered here seem to be pretty iffy in general. Once there was a young cashier who assumed my language fluency based on my skin color as soon as I started talking. Wish they have a self check out machine.
I love the new location. I live closer to this new store and dont have to go through downtown and fight the small parking lot. This new store has ample space in their parking lot. The murals and designs on the building, inside and outside, are lovely and well done. The store feels open and not congested, clean, and inviting.
Great selection of organic produce. The hot bar has good veggie and protein options. The staff makes City Market in the South End a fun place to shop.
I love this new co-op! Its just like the other City Market, except this one has really clean bathrooms. It is slightly more than walking distance so it attracts a different crowd. Its my new fav.
Beautiful store. The fresh produce and fruit section is a gorgeous selection of local, organic and regular items. The wide, clean aisles are clearly marked and arranged logically. Its a great place to find the staples, the hard-to-find items and to get inspired or take home a ready to eat meal.
Great place to go for a wide variety of foods. Includes wide selection of organics in all departments. Lots of gluten free options. Good ready to eat food bars.
Friendly workers, broad range of products!
Health alternatives galore. Knowledgeable staff. Sale items to help with budget concerns. A cooperative that helps you recognize how important you are in choosing where you shop.
Amazing prepared foods (hoot food and pastries - particularly the eclairs!) and an extensive selection of local produce, meats, and products. A mainstay of Burlington, City Market provides all ingredients necessary to experience Vermonts vibrant culinary scene.
Love to stop here whenever I’m in Burlington. Great healthy grab and go food plus awesome grocery store. Good local beer selection too.
Yes, its a pleasure not to have to deal with downtown traffic. Much safer to park here. And it is a part of the store we have loved for so many years. And I dont have to get there by 7am in order to be able to park and shop. All the advantages of the downtown store and more!
Excellent customer service, nice selection of organic foods, and good take out food
Over priced food i will never got back
Good premade stuff, great selection. Wonderful mission and purpose.
Love the amount of space between aisles. Way less hectic than the one downtown. Love how modern it looks, while it maintains the products I adore!
The new south end City market is great. Its like a sweet combination of healthy living and the downtown city market.Prices are excellent if youre a member (which you really oughta be) and their selection is great. Even or especially as it fluctuates seasonally.Plus the candy in their bulk section is fantastic.
The best store in the whole world... and its right in my neighborhood!! Super friendly, easy ample parking, beautiful murals, no nonsense organization of foods inside, nice clean bright place to eat prepared meals if you feel like it. Great food market for organic products as well.
City Market has a good selection for most categories of groceries. Their buildings are clean and well maintained, and the people working there have always been friendly and helpful. Becoming a co-op member had great benefits as well. E.g. In exchange for a few hours of volunteer work you receive a good discount on all purchases. City Market coordinate with local non-profits for members to do volunteer hours.
Cashier Tiana/Tiara? Was so argumentative for absolutely no reason. Two separate transactions my mom and I made both she was rude.
Great co-op. Standard as most. Some great buys from local farms, also able to spend $8 on a mix salad. Great place for healthy and local foods.
High quality food and other. Helpful staff. Convenient parking.
Love the hot bar. Cold brew rocks. And service is on point
Fresh food with many options for organic & vegan shoppers. It has a sandwich deli, salad & hot food bar; As well as freshly made on rhe spot juice bar. The dining agree accommodations include inside and outside seating.Outside the north entrance is a large bike rack with bike service station to inflate tires & tools for minor adjustments. Also, there is a dog tie up station on the grass with fresh water & shade.Next to the parking lot by the south entrance is a sizable kids play area obstacle course.
I visit here several times per week. Always have delicious ready made goodies, happy pleasant surprise staff and wide variety of natural food products. Amazing produce also.
The location is harder to reach and there’s a side road next door that looks like downtown Baghdad but with even more potholes. The staff are great but the produce is still overpriced.
Clean and spacious with loads of fresh options
New location is great! We thoroughly loved the large parking lot and friendly staff. Prices are much better than healthy living too!
This is one of my favorite spots in burlington to get food. The store has all the essentials I need. My favorite aspect is the salad and sandwich bar. The food is so incredible and fresh. When I get food there for consecutive days, they always switch up the options. The one drawback is that it’s a little pricey, but I think it’s definitely worth it!
Best food, hot bar is excellent. Super nice customer service
Excellent food choices, hot bar items, beer, wine, flowers, and pharmacy type items (vitamins, toothpaste, makeup).
They have a great selection of organic produce . They offer sandwiches a salad bar and a hot food bar there was a good amount of vegan options on the bar. I found several vegan goodies around the area as well. Checkout was friendly and efficient with a bagger.
Really nice, spacious, and easy to navigate store in a good location. Quality products at decent prices. Plus they have regular food too, so its not exclusive. Ill be back.
They need some talent in the kitchen but the store is so much nicer than the downtown location. A lot less crowded-and you can actually park!
I really like City Market. The people are knowledgeable and professional. I was a tad annoyed when I asked they were going to fill up the empty peanut butter machine with $2.99 peanuts. A worker said probably in the afternoon. I was not going to come back for it after work, so I was like oh well. She said why dont you get the organic. I told her it is too expensive for my budget. My husband goes through it like water. She told me it was only $2.00 more a pound. I felt like she wasnt really getting me. She tracked me down shortly after to tell me all bulk items were 10 % off. I said thank you. I still wasnt going to buy it. LOL.
Great selections and fair priced. We always come here to stock up when we are in town. Wide variety and lots of local choices.
The best ..... all the way helping hands for sure, our family is great full...
The grocery store I get to own a piece of :) The best thing about City Market is the bulk section -- a great place to pick up spices for a fraction of their cost in the big chain grocers, plus a wide assortment of other things -- ingredients, pastas, dried fruits and nuts, all the legumes you could dream of, peanut butter, oils, maple syrup -- all at very affordable prices.
This is a really great health food oriented grocery store. The prices on many items are a bit higher than other places, but it has a great selection of stuff and is a go to place downtown for simple decent things to sit down and eat.
This location is so much better. Its a nice spread out store and most importantly the parking is so much better. I never went to the other location because the parking lot is so hard to get in and out of as well as the parking lot itself is a nightmare.
Love the new location! Especially the parking lot. Lots of spots. Always love the fresh produce, great selection of beer, and organic everything.
I like this store, a lot, dont get me wrong. Plus, the price is definitely worth the quality. However, every time I go here, some of the cashiers always seem irritated and it makes me feel like Im not a valued customer.
Such a great store with wonderful selection of local, fresh foods, canned, you name it. They carry everything you would need for healthy living. Great staff, and fantastic member program. Free RO water, plus discounts up to 12% for just volunteering at community organizations.
The City Market, with two separate locations, has been an icon for sustainable co-ops here in VT. My wife and I thoroughly enjoy every trip we make to City Market Southend, especially because of the extra roominess and new food options. I highly recommend City Market for anyone, visitor or full-time Burlingtonite, to stop by and grab some amazing groceries or a wonderful meal to-go. It’s a little pricey, but well worth it for the experience and quality you’re getting!
Awesome store
Hard to find this much fresh, local, quality foods anywhere else but be ready to spend $50 w/out even thinking about it. Someone needs to explain why local food cost so MUCH MORE since its not traveling from halfway around the globe...
Good place to get staples for the night but not grocery for a week. definitely need to have more bone-in meat
Hot bar was full and had good choices for my dietary restrictions!
The best bulk section around. Having worked in the industry for awhile, Id rather shop at a co-op, and this is one of the best.
Just an incredible market. Highly preferred over the other market options on Dorset St.
City Markets South End store is pretty dang amazing. Same awesome selections, staff and sandwiches as downtown, but with more space. Plus a year round Juice for the People stand. So good.
Brought my friend to the South End City Market. Beautiful store. So much room in the isles. Personal is very friendly.
Love new location. Plenty of parking. Awesome salad bar, smoothies. Great selection of meats, veggies, etc ...
Fantastic grocery store. Even better with the new space. Fewer people and ample parking.
New location is great, much better parking with the same quality of goods and services. Super happy to have a new store in Burlington.
Great looking market, good selection and just like the downtown location. The hot bar is always a good choice
We go specially for jars of Fields Black Bean and Corn Salsa, but also enjoy the wraps/sandwiches, decaf cold brew coffee, etc
Same store, same products, not as crowded, wider aisles but lost the cache of the original store. Better parking. Not happy at all that you cant get a sandwich after 2 PM. Getting the premade sandwiches is not the same.
Great people, extremely supportive, wonderful selection of products.
Cool place, love the bulk section. Wish they carried more environmentally friendly products with less plastic
Great options and friendly staff! Easier to access than the other location.
What I like about the new store.1. Plenty of parking2. Excellent selection of local and organic foods and beers.3. Wonderful chicken called Smart Chicken.4. Plenty of cashiers5. Delish prepared sandwiches6. Everyone wears masks and they wipe down their cardsWish List:1. More international cooking classes. Classes sell out too quickly.2. Better lighting in their cosmetics area.
They have good quality but its difficult to get out with a cart as there isnt enough room for people at the front of the store.
Neat organic store, near Oakledge Park. There were many options on flowers, fruits, and vegetables. natural lotions, shampoos, vitamins. Great shop!
I love love love this new location. But I do miss the Golden Monkey in their beer selection... What happened? Were going to go?
New South End store on Flynn is AWESOME! So spacious, all the same items, vast bulk section, huge parking.
Huge shiny new cavernous hipster/ healthy food market. Less agrevating to get in and out of.
One of the best healthy delicious food options around.
I definitely prefer this location over the one downtown, which induces clostophobia in almost anyone. Much more parking with easier entry and egress; bigger floor space, with wider aisles. Has a larger dining area also, which has been open during covid with limited seating. Selection of produce is great, same great bulk food. They have a very sanitary system of purchasing the bulk food as well, if thats a concern. The made to order sandwiches downtown are the best in town for my money. Dont even know if they make them here. If youve been shopping at the DT location, give this place a spin. Youll definitely like it.
Clean safe shopping
Very nice! Spacious and an abundance of great local organic products! Parking is aplenty.
Parking is MUCH easier here compared to the Winooski Ave location. But although this location is larger and less crowded, the produce selection is not as comprehensive than the Winooski Ave store.
New store looks great with great products. Picked up great desserts for New Years Eve.
Fabulous grocery store. prepared foods are delicious as well!
Great selection of organic and traditional food. Easy parking and no lines.
