Quick in and out. I waited longer for the part to be delivered from the dealer to Mears than I did for the actual service. Price was good as well.

I have never had a problem with Mears I get both of my cars serviced here. They never try to up sale and for the most part, pick out services that can be postponed. Recently replaced an inside door handle on my BMW and looks great.

These guys are fantastic. We have taken our cars to them multiple times. They always found time to discuss issues and return phone calls, got the jobs done right, always respecful and fixed things at a reasonable price. They even came over to my office once, picked up my car and left me a loaner so I could come and pick my car up after work. I would definitely recommend them.

I have been to numerous car repair shops and I am by far more impressed with Mears knowledgeable team, incredible customer service and fair prices than anywhere else Ive been. They did an inspection on my car and gave me a quote. They searched to find used parts, cut down on service costs, and put a lot of time and effort into trying to make the repair affordable enough, but to no fault of theirs, was still a total loss. I went in to pay the inspection fee and they were so kind and empathetic, and ended up telling me it was on them! Excellent customer service and I didnt even end up giving them a dime. I will totally be back with any repairs on my new car needed in the future because their team was so incredibly helpful and kind.

I asked how much it was and he pleasantly turned around and said thats my gift to you for the day, so nothing! Ive used Mears twice, and my mom has gone to them multiple times. The first time I went, they replaced two rims-they found used ones in great condition which saved me quite a bit of money!, replaced two tired, and did an alignment. This last time, I had put a new battery into my car, and the clamp was sliding completely off on one side while I was driving! They were able to put a tightening component on. They also found that a belt was cracking and replaced it. They answered my questions and were clear with me. They charged me less than the original estimate too! They were open with me about the schedule and timing, so I was able to work out my schedule with theirs and plan accordingly. They do quality work, communicate clearly, tell you what is most important, and charge a fair price. I dont know that you could find a better place to take your vehicle for maintenance than Mears!

Work van was taken there due to oil pressure problem wouldnt entertain the idea of pulling the oil pan and putting a new o ring on the pick up tube replaced oil pressure sensor that didnt need replaced and after getting the van back they couldnt even put the oil filter on tight!

Brake flush, Coolant flush, ignition system work, and blown speaker replaced:Mears Carmel did a wonderful job on my 2013 Ford Fusion which had just run off of extended warranty.Quick, complete, and easily handled.The Ford dealer had the car 3 times and still did not have everything completed.Took it in to Ford first for oil change, car recall, and speaker problems.First time, they sent me to their quick lane for the oil change because they did not have parts for the rest. (They mailed me the recall notice!)Second time, they said scheduling fouled things up and it could not be done that day, but parts would be ordered.They also recommended the Brake flush, coolant flush and ignition tune-up.Third time, they did the recall work, but did not do the speaker, because it had not been ordered.That is the last time this car will be to the Ford dealer in Carmel.Thanks Mears for a much better experience!Recommended

I am a DIY mechanic for things I have the will, tools, and time to handle on my vehicles. For repairs that dont meet that criteria, I have used Mears over the years to do the work. I have found them to be honest and to stand behind the work they have completed even when they have had difficulties that associate with parts suppliers. Most recently, had suspension and power steering work completed on a 2004 Sienna minivan. On the rear suspension, they fought through the difficulties of getting the old bushings out of an older vehicle in the rust belt and replaced with OEM parts. They then accurately traced the source of a power steering fluid leak to the high pressure hose and replaced. Between the suspension work I did over the summer and the recent repairs done by Mears, our sixteen year old van rides like new.

I have lived in Carmel for over 5 years and I have brought my vehicles to Mears exclusively for the entire time. I have never had a poor experience here. They are always honest, quick, and reasonably priced for their service. There have been a few times Ive just dropped in for a minor issue without an appointment and they were able to resolve my problem in a matter of minutes. They communicate well about what repairs are necessary and give accurate time frames for when repairs will be complete. They also dont try to do a hard upsell on unnecessary repairs. They will make a recommendation if something may need to be repaired soon, but they never push for things to be repaired unless its an urgent and necessary concern.Mears works hard to earn, and keep, their customers trust. I have recommended this shop to numerous friends and co-workers and will continue to do so. Dont bother going anywhere else, Mears is the only place you need to go for quality service.

My car broke down late Monday night. Im from out of town and had a 7+ hour drive Tuesday. I called Mears, spoke with Kevin Beck, and asked how soon he could work on my car if I had it towed to his shop that evening. He assured me they would work on it right away, asked me a few questions to get an idea what the repair issues might be, and even asked me if I had a way of getting around so that I wouldnt be stranded til the car was repaired. Wow! What great caring customer service! Kevin called me early Tuesday morning to advise me of the diagnosis, and stated the car would be ready that afternoon. I was elated to get a call at about 1:00 Tuesday to say the car was ready to go, fully repaired, and safe to drive again. Upon picking up the car, I also learned that Kevin actually stayed at the shop late Monday night once the car was towed there so he could try to get an early diagnosis. I felt so blessed and thankful to have such trusting, caring, personalized service. Thank you Kevin and the Mears Automotive team! What an awesome experience.

I was recommended to Mears Automotive from a previous employer. I tried them fairly recently for the first time since Ive become disgusted with the car dealerships Ive tried in the area. I first went in for some advice on a minor problem, and the gentleman offered several suggestions, only one of which was to direct me to their store. They satisfied my questions, and by doing the first two things suggested on my own, it fixed my problem.The second time I went to get a car diagnostic on a specific problem. I got the impression they werent quite sure what was causing the problem, but they still had more than one direction to take which I was impressed with. They suggested the first thing so they ordered the part, installed it, and fixed the problem.The third time (most recent), I had a major problem with the car. They had to tow it in and then do some exploratory work on it to figure out what went wrong. They called and explained the problem and the solution to follow, and it was not really affordable to me at the time (used engine replacement with 40K miles and all the qualified connections for rehooking an engine.) I suggested a slight different direction by looking at an engine with higher miles, and they were willing. Unfortunately, I still couldnt afford to go that route, so I had to do something else. I was really impressed after I told them I couldnt afford the engine replacement work, they offered to cover the tow costs and whatever work they did to figure out the cars initial problem. If this was a dealership, I would have been into charges around $400-600. I was blown away. I still offered to at least for the tow cost, but they declined. This is when I knew for sure, they have my back. I will be with them for a while, I can tell you.It was refreshing to know there are still repair shops with customers best interest in mind and not just trying to do the more expensive thing, to just make a buck.

Brought my car over for the first time after reading some reviews as my maintenance and engine lights both went on. My car is old and on its last legs, so I was not planning on spending a bunch of money to fix it. They diagnosed three different problems and called with the update, and a quote for each line item with an explanation of what each part does. I am not very handy so this was much appreciated. After informing them that I was not going to keep the car for much longer, they gave honest feedback with how urgent each problem was. Although they could have made anything up and I would have believe it, they one item they fixed was the least expensive, making it definitely seem like an honest diagnosis. Service and return was prompt, and dropping off and picking up after business hours was easy. Highly recommend and will be back.

Quoted a lot of unnecessary work and wanted to fix most expensive part that was not the cause of my vehicles problems. Either Inexperienced mechanic or just wanted to make bank. The quotation says could not replicate the problem, which was obvious, grinning two metal parts under the car, that any person could hear, driving the vehicle.

These guys are great. We had only one day to resolve a transmission issue before our daughter had to take her car back to Chicago. Randy was extremely helpful, worked us in, communicated well and got the car fixed at a reasonable cost - in one day. It’s probably the best experience we’ve ever had with an auto shop. I have a 1994 3000 GT and couldn’t find a shop that would replace my transmission for a reasonable price. I was calling around and found Mears. They did an inspection pretty much on arrival and gave me everything that could be wrong. They gave me a quote and never deviated from that price. Some things came up that I would have to be charged for in addition to the quote. They never did anything without calling me. Yes it took a little bit longer than expected but I advised them to take their time and do it right. They did not disappoint me. Very good people. Very knowledgeable. Will go no where else.

Have had a few issues with my vehicles and Mears has always been great with which to work. I thought one issue with my van was going to be about $1000 and they informed me it was a sensor and had it fixed for about $100 including labor and parts within a day. My other car had to be towed. They diagnosed the issue and confirmed my beliefs that the engine had died. The diagnosis fee was $52 which I think is a very fair price for the work they did. I’ll conti to use them!

Most recently, I had a flat tire on arguably the coldest day of the year this past week. They did not have any leased vehicles on hand so Neil drove me to my office down the road. The Mears Automotive workers did an excellent job repairing my clutch. They were a pleasure to work with over the phone and in person. I was informed in a timely manner of what was wrong with my vehicle, what work they would be doing and how long it would take. I will definitely use them again for any car repair needs.

Had the folks at Mears perform 105k maintenance on my Toyota 4Runner Overland truck and all was done without issue. Due to the high degree of customization of the vehicle that is not usually the case. Everyone was friendly and courteous. So shell be going back to Mears for major maintenance as it currently stands.

Theyre communicative, friendly, always estimate in advance (and sometimes beat it!), and the work is solid. Today I was a first time customer at Mears Automotive. My experience with the gentlemen there was nothing short of amazing; I am wowed!!! We limped into Mears late in the afternoon with a dying battery and failing alternator. The Mears team jumped right on it for us and we were fixed up better than new the next day. Saved us some money with their AAA discount offer along with recommending we replace the alternator belt at the same time as it was no charge (except for the cost of the belt only; no additional charge for labor) for labor since they were having to replace the existing belt. received a call when it was done and also advised us they were able to save the 6 month old battery which had taken a beating from the failing alternator which had voided the warranty. Could not be happier with the Mears team...first class people and a 5 star business...thanks TEAM MEARS!

Honest and Service Oriented CompanyI had my car towed to Mears on the recommendation of a friend. It would not go into N, R or Park. They were not able to replicate the problem and did not charge me for it. They did fix a fuel leak that I had in the engine area that I wasnt aware of, however I had smelled gas a couple times. I was lucky it hadnt caught on fire. My car is old and has some leaks. They gave me an estimate to repair but said it wasnt a necessity. I hate taking a car in for repair because being a woman, I dont always know what does and does not need done. They were very honest throughout the process and I didnt feel like I was being taken advantage of as I have with other car repair companies in the past. I would highly recommend this group. I went to the Carmel location. My friends go to the Brownsburg location and also highly recommend them as well.

Its hard to find a good auto shop that you can trust will be honest with you. I do trust Mears however which is why I felt compelled to write this review. I have taken my car and my wifes car there a few times. They have always given me an honest answer of the work that needs to be done, and I have never felt like they are pushing me to do unnecessary maintenance. Just the other day I had a nail in my tire and swung by and they had it patched up within 10 minutes. Bob even remembered my name from the few times we have talked on the phone.

Mears only recommends the services that your car actually needs. I do not feel like I am being taken advantage of like I have sometimes felt at other places like the dealership.

Mears Automotive in Carmel continues to exceed my expectations. Their expertise in diagnosing and repair are second to none.
