I had to keep filling my tire...i decided to fix it. At 5 pm..i looked on yelp and found this place. I called to find out the cost to repair the tire...i was quoted 10.00 if the tire stays on the car and 15.00 if they had to take it off..I arrived 10 minutes later...rhey asked me to pull the car up so I did.I did not even have to wait...right away the nice guy came out...lifted my car up and discovered a nail...Immediately he got his tools..pulled it out..put in a plug and sealed the tire.I was literally in and out within 10 to 15 minutes.I was so happy how quickly they serviced the car. It was fun to joke with them.I for sure recommend this place...the staff is very friendly...and they were very quick to get me out of there.If your looking for a place to go to have your tire fixed...this is the place to go.🤭🤭🤭🤭

This place was recommended by a friend. I was a little nervous at first since I usually stay away from shops. However, Jay always takes great care of my vehicle! He listens to the issue I’m describing, takes the vehicle on road tests, and lets me know what the problem is, what needs to be done, and how much it’s going to cost. If anything changes, he is quick to give me a phone call and keep me updated. I used to have a Prius and he did incredible work. Now I have a BMW and he is the only one I will trust with my vehicles. He is honest, and will recommend other places he has good business relationships with if there is something he can not do.

During my pre-purchase inspection, Jay wasnt afraid to tell the truth of what was wrong with the car. His assessment helped me out of a possible scam and saved me alot of money. I drove all the way from Modesto and Im a glad customer. He deserves a five star rating due to his many years of experience, knowledge, and helpfulness. I was driving from Washington state to Southern California when my car suddenly died 2 hours north of Sacramento. I spent most of Sunday morning calling auto shops that were open to get my car in same day. The owner of the shop was incredibly kind and was willing to stay late on Sunday day so I could get my car seen that day.When the tow truck arrived, he was SO kind and helpful and helped to tow truck driver get my car off the bed.Not only did he fix my car in record time, but had me drive around the neighborhood to ensure everything felt alright before getting back on the road. When I got back from the test drive, he was so awesome and explained everything he fixed a day what to watch for in case something else was to happen on the rest of our journey.To top it off, the next day he called just to make sure we got to LA ok. It literally made my year!In todays world, genuine kindness feels rare. Thank you Fair Auto for taking such good care of me and my car and for caring about all your customers ❤

Its hard to find an honest mechanic. Fair Auto fixed my wheel bearing and replaced my timing belt. They are good, honest working guys here with fair prices. I shopped around and looked on car forums for the timing belt and what Fair Auto told me was spot on with my cars manufacture recommendations.

I live just around the corner from this garage and Ive been bringing my vehicles here since 2016. J., the owner, always gives me a great deal. Super nice 👌 👍

This is a very welcoming and wonderful place. I went in because my car was leaking oil and Javed was able to fix it with no problem. I also had him look at my AC. I had an accident a while back and my AC was never fixed. However, Javed was able to figure out what the issue was and i walked out with my AC working perfectly! I would recommend this place if you want quality work done on your vehicle!

I was quoted couple hundred less than other shops for my air conditioner job and did a excellent job...before going there I went to midas on fair oaks Blvd and was charged 500 for a fan clutch and that wasnt the issue they pretty much ripped me off .I found my new place to go .

My car had a check engine light on, I was thankfully able to get a code scanned to tell me what is wrong and They took me in at last minute notice on a Sunday and had me out of there in a great time! I have been taking my truck to fair auto since Javed the owner opened and I must say he and Derrick his right hand are the most fair and honest mechanics I have ever known, and they do excellent work. Im proud to call them friends. 🤙

I took my car here about a month ago for an alignement. I asked them if they would be able to diagnose my oil leak. And they told me to bring it back later. So I did. I left it there for the day. Came back, they did not give me a clear answer on what the issue was. I did not have it fixed here but the guy told me he fixed the issue temporarily. They told me the car was on its last legs. I have a 2009 Mazda 6. Yesterday I got stuck on the side of the highway due tape being put on the pinpoint oil leak. I dont think that is professional even a little bit. A mechanic should never put tape on a car to fix anything. That could have been my daughters or my life yesterday, due to pure laziness. I will not be coming here again.

My brother found this place on Yelp, and both of us use them for a number of things. My brother and his wife are fairly a-b people with their car, but they needed an engine replaced. This shop found them a good engine at a good price, and then installed it quickly for another good price. Now they need a catalytic converter, but the shop can do it for way cheaper than the dealer ever did for my car (both are the same kind, aside from body style, transmission, and a year apart).For me, Im an eccentric car guy, and they took a bunch of relatively experimental parts that I had compiled for my car to have them installed (I dont trust myself with more complicated/safety related work). They did say they couldnt warranty or guarantee the parts, but they would do the work. Overall, it was a fair deal all told. It took them a few days more than expected, but they always called me when it was going to take longer, and explained why.They have good hours and prices, not to mention a waiting room (which not all small shops have). Its a bit out of the way, but worth it.

I really can’t say enough about Fair Auto Repair and Tire. They are far more than fair. They go out of their way to fix the problem and satisfy the customer. The owner, Jay, is a super person. He is so generous with his time, his advice and his work. He takes time to discuss with you what the issues are, what he recommends, everything. In my experience, he takes the most time with me as a customer than any other mechanic I’ve had. Jay is knowledgeable and explains things so I understand. I always get the feeling hes putting himself in my shoes.This is an honest mechanic who runs an honest shop. Just yesterday I purchased a used car. First I took it into Fair Auto Repair for a pre-purchase inspection. I wouldn’t do it any other way. I myself didn’t even test drive the car. I let Jay do the only test drive because I trust him implicitly. Bought the car based on Jay’s assessment and testing on the road followed by a mechanical inspection at the shop. Jay took a lot of time to speak with both me and the car’s owner about the problems he found.I moved out of the Bay Area 2 years ago, leaving behind another mechanic I and my family have relied on for many, many years. I didn’t expect to find one I’d trust as much as I had Dave at Dave’s Complete Auto Service in Oakland – he’s fantastic too, by the way! I have really lucked out with Jay at Fair Auto Repair and Tire in Carmichael. The man who sold me the car said yesterday he would start coming to Jay for his auto repairs! (And he lives 30 minutes away!) Your vehicle will be in good, honest hands when you take it to Jay’s shop.

I really love this place. I bought a used car which is a Bmw M5 2013 and it needed new tires all around got those at an amazingly good price. I needs an alignment because I was showed that the wear on the tires was uneven and when I drove it, it did go off to the left. Lastly I wanted a stage 2 cold air intake installed and got that installed. Will be coming back next week for new brakes. Best customer service and nowadays good mechanics are hard to find but I found mines. I would recommend Fair Auto Repair to friends and family.

I went to this shop personally for a quote to see how much it would cost to repair my 1999 Dodge Grand Caravan as it has an oil leak and needed to have a tune up. The owner quoted me at $3000 which is outrageous! When I questioned the price, he told me you are a woman so I dont know how much you know about cars but I am giving you an honest rate. They Definitely will NOT get my business now. Overcharging me and trying to say that I am just a dumb woman so what do I know?! I suggest shopping around before taking this mechanics word for it.

Just finished up having my 93 Jeep Cherokee repaired after experiencing some issues with over heating. J, and Derik gave me lots of options and we started with the lowest cost repairs, and had it well on its way within a few hours. Exactly Shop. So far they have worked on 3 cars in my family, 2013 300, 2012 Impala, and 2012 Transverse. All work was done in a timely manner and prices were very affordable! I would recommend these guys to any and everyone. Most importantly they take care of the Military Service Members!

Got a $500 dollar estimate for transmission fluid flush. Told me we needed 12 quarts of transmission fluid which he told us 30 dollars a quart... called ford dealership priced a quart of transmission fluid at $5.38. Really upsetting because he manipulated us and made us feel as if he was doing us a favor. Very sketch mechanics always check with another source even if its the dealership. A flush at the DEALERSHIP was priced at $200.

I would say depends on the car and who you talk to. But I dont really trust them anymore after working on my second car.unfortunately I didnt have specific tools to finish a job so I had to bring my vehicle there. The quote did not reflect the total price. Especially since they told me the technician was a specialist on that make and model. Uugh why couldnt they just be honest.also they took forever to do the job and were proud of themselves for doing a few really small things. Next time I will fork over the money and buy the equipment and just deal with it myself

Screwed up my wifes alignment to the point it was dangerous for her to drive. Took it back to have them fix their mistake and replace a control arm I didnt have time to do myself. This morning she called me outside because the car was making a funny noise, they didnt tighten one of the 3 bolts. Screwed it in by hand and forgot about it Im guessing. This place is a joke. Do not go here.

Hate to say it, so Ill state just the facts; came in to replace 2 tires and spoke to an East Indian man. He quoted me $80 each. I gave him my tire size and said, Im looking for something under $50 even if its used. The second I said cheap, he refused to help me and said they didnt carry my size. I find that hard to believe since R15/225 is the avereage sized vehicle tire in America. This is definately not the American cultural way of doing business. You never leave a customer dissapointed. Evidentally, this diverse experience brought me to Sears who had a great deal on 4 tires! Thank you East Indian guy at UNFair Auto for showing us how you do business, you drove me to a better deal and just lost another customer...
