I wish they had some more traditional hawaiian flavors to mix in with the korean flavors.
First time trying korean ice cream, it is amazing! I paid $15 for a small strawberry & mango cup (i believe it’s a 8-12oz) and a small mango smoothie. Come here to quench your sweet tooth cravings!
My first bingsu visit ever and honestly it was all really good. The place is well lit and welcoming albeit a little cold inside after a while. Ordering is very easy and quick. Pricing is fair and I recommend that you split a dessert between two if youve already had dinner prior. The serving sizes are quite big. Fruit toppings are fresh and so good. The mango is by far my favorite. It was buzzing with people when we showed up and people were coming in all evening. I cant complain at all. Definitely recommend you visit!
Quite disappointing. The ice cream had a frost bitten taste for both orders made and the Taiyaki was burnt and not good at all. Was flavorless except for the frost bite taste.Ice cream left a terrible after taste. Not ever returning. Way overpriced for terrible shaved ice that tasted old.
Taste was fine but the wait was way too long for shaved ice/snow. Overall, it just wasnt worth the price. I will not be returning.
The bingsu is delicious, it has such a unique taste and the fruits on top are so tasty. The serving sizes are great and the place is very cute. There could be more seating, it gets pretty full but the orders are made quickly and they are with the wait. This is an all around good place for dessert and anyone with a sweet tooth.
First time I went here. Don’t even know what this place serves and this very nice lady right here explain to me what they have. She has very good sense of humor and very pleasant to be welcomed at this cafe.Didn’t really care for much of the bingsu but will definitely come back to try other things and see her again cause she was very pleasant. Thank you.
It was pretty good. Ive never had this bingsu stuff so i have nothing to compare it to. Although its shaved ice it tastes quite like ice cream. Although if you dont stir your cup up; at the bottom it tastes like flavored ice. Its quite expensive tho ($8 for a small), although even a small is enough for two adults to share. I have been here during the pandemic beginning (2019-2020) and they was closed often. I think there back at full capacity now tho. I read all the reviews and saw none of the bad stuff said. I gave 3 stars because it was good, yet not good enough to make the drive (35 mins) to buy again.
We always enjoy the shaved ice here. The Mango Bingsu is a favorite and tastes great!!!
Pretty tasty little place. Fiancé and I shared a mango and strawberry shaved ice. It was delicious, and the staff were friendly. Would give 5 stars but they don’t really have a lot on their menu, it feels like. Also, while the shaved ice as a whole was delicious, I didn’t much care for the strawberry syrup they put on it. Kinda tasted like the strawberry syrup you put in milk. Also a little pricey.
This place looks absolutely delicious, and Id still like to try it out sometime. However, we went on a Monday night, where they dont open until 7pm. Unfortunately that meant waiting over 30 minutes, but we decided to do so. More unfortunate, they never opened at 7pm, and still hadnt by 7:45pm when we finally gave up and went across the highway to Wicked Snow. Snow City Cafe is the cheaper of the two, but Wicked Snow was delicious and a great choice. Perhaps Ill give Snow City Cafe another shot, but definitely not on a Monday.
Came here first time in 2 years or so. It was one of better Korean bingsu places in town. Not any more. Maybe ownership chnaged. Bingsu is not too difficult to make. How to understand how they make bingsu like this. And condenses milk all over inside and outside the bowl. I was happy that there were not many people but now i understand why. Go to other places for bingsu.
This is for the first time that we have tried the shaved ice cream and we got here just by chance. It was delightful experience with flavourful ice creams. We have tried Mango Cake Bing Su, Mango and Strawberry, Oreo with cheese cake as topping and i must say we were really impressed and really liked it. The sweetness is just up to the mark i.e. It was not too sweet not too blunt. Flavour hots the bulls eye though the cheesecake was bit dry and the crust was little stiff but we can ignore that for now.The small size bowl was good enough for at least two people and large i think for four😂😂We would like to try their shakes and coffee next time as it really looked tempting. The one thing we would definitely want to try the fish shaped teriyaki unfortunately they were out of stock at that time but my wife is fan of that we would gonna try that in future. The ambience it really cool and you feels like you are sitting in tomb of dessert.
My favorite bingsu place, I’ve tired a few and always come back here! My favorite is the Oreo bingsu.
OOOOEEEEMMMMGEEEEEEEE. LIKE, THE BEST EVER. JUST GO!!! I got shaved ice with strawberries and mango and cheesecake. I almost bought a second just to savor more flavor. The most fresh fruit and the most creamy shaved ice. I will def be back. Great service, nice clean restrooms, beautiful ambience. Can eat outside. Only downside is the fake whipped topping. But I just ordered without and glad I did bc the freshness deserved to deliver on its own! Beats a snowcone anyday. I will have definitely have food dreams about this one!
We went to Gen for lunch and then walked down the strip. We walked in here to check it out and I noticed they had taiyaki!! Taikyaki is one of my favourite Japanese treats so of course I HAD to get some. I got the traditional red bean. I think it was about $4? A little pricy, but it was good. They call it “French taikyaki” because the pastry is made with croissant dough which made a super interesting flavour. It wasn’t my favourite combination, but I would eat it again. I didn’t have a chance to try anything else but it was a cute place and I’d definitely come back!
Never had this type of shaved ice / ice cream before. It wasnt too sweet which is what I was worried about. Its sweet though Dont get me wrong. The guy helping was awesome had a great inviting personality. He gave us a little education on what he was making as well. we will definitely go back to take friends whove never had it.
What a yummy and different dessert. I got the fruity pebbles medium and it was big enough for too. The texture is awesome and it’s not too sweet. The only con to this place is the wait time. I went with a group of 8 of us and it took 30 minutes for our orders to get out. Don’t go if your in a rush or with a group of people.
The concept was cool. Like literally eating snow and adding fruit or some flavoring. Fun to try! Caught me off guard though, was thinking shaved Hawaiian Ice. Nice touch with the Tayaki in combo with the neighboring store nearby (Somi-Somi). I did enjoy the loud music, especially had some good slow jams from the 90s. LOL I sooo appeciated the Selena songs.
Mannnnnn. I have been trying so many bingsu places. Snow cafe has the best bingsu so far. The combination is a boom
I love how the bingsu here is made with shaved frozen milk rather than just shaved ice. Much creamier and tastier imho. Portion is great for sharing so do bring your friends along. However dont order the taiyaki - too much flour, too oily (as if it has been fried twice), and too little filling. If you want Taiyaki go to the stand inside Hmart.
Disappointed at the amount and quality of fruit added to the bingsu. I spoke to the person taking the order but she just brushed my concern aside with a this is usually how much fruit we put in
Delicious. Its not really shaved ice imo. Snow is a very appropriate description. A snow textured cream. Rather than shaved ice with flavoring or condensed milk on top, the snow itself is sweet and creamy. Theyre generous with the fruit. Not only is there fruit on top, but its also on the bottom which was a pleasant surprise. The small is not small. It was a good size to share between 2 people. Will come back again.
Snow city is very different than any other place for sweets. If you like snow cones this is almost like that but I believe it is much better. We have had the mango and the strawberry and mango. Both are very delicious. Inside is clean and the person working is a very nice person and makes the treats amazing.
The small its plenty. I love it despite my mouth going numb and teeth starting to hurt xDCheesecake bingsu highly recommended
Been here on five different occasions and they are always closed. Its 3:15pm and they are closed. Post some times if Google is wrong.
Their snow is so fluffy and perfect amount of sweetness.
Drove 20 minutes to come by a shaved ice for my girlfriend and I. When I got here he told me cash only. I had $10 cash and the large is $9.95 + tax. He told me they were only accepting cash and there was because their Wi-Fi was down so they couldn’t take credit cards. I asked to get a large for $10 and he said he couldn’t do it because after tax it was over $10. I’ve think they should’ve been more accommodating considering my girlfriend and I have to split a small because their credit card machine isn’t working. Not good customer service. I expect better than that
The register guy was absolutely rude. He basically told me to leave after I asked if I could pay with cash and card LOL said “you know what you can leave” that’s fine because your pathetic 3 options in flavors and your only 2 size options are not worth it anyway! Get you a full menu sweetie. I was showing my niece and nephews around but took them to 85c instead where they’re fully stocked with options so thank you! Thank you for verbally kicking me out, did me a huge favor!!!
Trash store, bad food but expensive, bad customer service, the guy was very rude when we ordered.
So delicious and very generous. staff is extremely friendly and kind!
Love this place, but drove 45 minutes to this place twice and found it closed despite Google and Yelp saying its open. If youre closed take 5 minutes to update that! Im not wasting another drive to come to this poorly managed place.
No one is answering the phone. Not sure if they are open any more. Others complaining about the same issue. Would be nice to know if they are still in business before making a long drive there...
This place is fantastic! Pro-tip, let the ice melt some so the flavors mix with the toppings better. The only thing is I wished they had a kids or mini size because even the small size is huge. Easily shareable between two people.
Love this place!!! The shaved iced is so smooth that it just melts in your mouth!! So delicious!!!
The shaved ice here is amazing. Had a strawberry mango chocolate mousse cake which was amazing. The oreo is also very delicious. Would recommend everyone to give Snow City Cafe a try.
This is the worst place to eat ice cream customer service was bad and the wait tine was almost one hour never will go back!!!
Had the strawberry mango bingsu, so FING GOOD!
Have been here several times, usually getting the hazelnut French taiyakis. This was the first time I got the bingsu, which is their shaved ice dish. I got the mango and strawberry one. The mango was a little firm and not as sweet as I would have liked, but still good. The strawberry was tart. All together with the sweet silky shaved ice though, it was still really good and worth the trip. Very surprised and really enjoyed it.The staff was also very friendly and I have not had an issue here yet. Check it out for either treat, its definitely worth it.
One of the best desserts Ive ever had! I recommend the Strawberry and Mango one! The fruits are to die for!
Got my order wrong and it took over 20 minutes to get a coffee
What a fun place. Love the cheesecake just fantastic. The Oreo was also great. Definitely will be back..
This place is a guilty pleasure. The texture of the shaved ice is just like snow and it tastes like condensed milk. They try to cover every visible inch of “snow” with whatever topping you choose, and it’s great. They also serve red bean and Nutella taiyaki made with puff pastry instead of the traditional batter. It’s a nice, crispy foil to the cold desserts they provide.
The milky shaved ice is to die for. Its not overly sweet and just hits the right spot for dessert. Even if I am suffering from food coma, I will always have room for Snow City. And this is coming from someone that doesnt even like sweets that much. My go-to is the Mango Strawberry, the mangos are fresh and the strawberries are always so sweet.
Absolutely delicious!Never had anything like this and I just completely loved it. I got the Strawberry/Mango Bing Su and it came out perfectly with a nice large portion. I ate this when it was 25 degrees Celsius and it still tasted fantastic, I bet it’s even more refreshing during a typical Texas summer.
Love the Bingsu!!
Just tried Strawberry and Mango shaved ice, it was really delicious!! Ice was very soft and smooth !! Would definitely recommend and go back for more !!
Matcha & red bean snow-ice was good. Strawberry & mango snow-ice was way too sweet even after telling them to reduce. The taiyaki was dry.
Tried the fish croissant but disappointed
We came here at 9PM on a Sunday and they are open till 11pm. The place was full, but awkwardly quiet. The lady behind the counter calls out large mango multiple times and no one claims it. After a solid 3 minutes of waiting for someone to claim the large mango bingsu, she finally gave up and asked us for our order, begrudgingly. We ordered a small mango and she said it will be a 20-30 min wait for bingsu.....excuse me if Im wrong but I dont believe it takes 30 min to make shaved ice in any universe and the place was not even full. Whoever the lady was that worked there on March 1st, 2020 was extremely unpleasant and seemed like she hated her life and her job.Thats all I had to say about the service. I was really hoping the actual bingsu would be redeeming but it was not. It did not taste good and the mango was neither sweet nor soft. Disappointed to the max.
Deliciously creamy Taiwanese-styled shaved ice! The portion size is too big for one person though, so bring a friend to share!
Prior to my recent vacation to Alaska, I had read that Snow City Café was selected as the best breakfast restaurant in Alaska so I had to decide for myself. The atmosphere was very homey and the food looked wonderful and tasked wonderful. When I asked for sweet iced tea, my server, Travis, asked where I was from (Texas) and told me he has very few patrons request sweet tea. He went on to explain that he was from Alabama and knew first-hand how wonderful sweet tea is. He went to the back and made me my very own pitcher of Alabama sweet tea. It was delicious. Personal experiences and relationships are what make a business exceed any expectations already in place. I highly suggest visiting Snow City Café when you visit Anchorage. Breakfast or lunch will be worth it.
Great place for deserts especially snow ice. This snow ice is made with milk which makes it very smooth and melts in your mouth. Variety of toppings such as mango, berries and red bean.
Loved the shaved iced there. Matcha was my fav!
Been to several places for bingsu and this one was not anywhere near as good as Snowy Bingsu. Taro taste like powder, Bingsu tastes watered down and they out stuff on them that you dont ask for. Wont return here.
Extremely friendly employees and great food and drinks! Theres a bit of a wait since its always crowded but generally a really nice atmosphere.
Surprisingly delicious. Snow ice is mixed with milk as a fair warning which was tasty. I also like the croissant nutella. Very tasty. All in all a pleasant experience.
Honestly, probably top 3 best bingsoo Ive ever had. Lets just say that I bought one and may have returned for another after digesting a bit. Service was really nice and had no issues with splitting the bills, even on a small bill.
After trying out Mango shaved ice at Kings Noodle after watching a documentary on food in Taiwan, I was devastated to find out they only sell it over the summer. Luckily for me, this is a wonderful replacement. The frozen milk is super fluffy and the fruit is always very sweet in a ripe way. Every single friend I have taken to this place loves it. One word of warning, come here with a friend and share, because if you are coming here for dessert after you just ate, you probably wont be able to finish a bingsu all by yourself. At least not comfortably.
This place is delicious! First time I’ve had Korean ice cream. I highly recommend the Oreo.
Tried this place for the first time. It was great. I would like to try other variations. They are open pretty late.
Very delicious and great service. Unlike shaved ice, this is more like a shaved cream which has toppings on top and throughout the desert. For first timers, Id highly recommend either the strawberry and mango, or the three berry bingsu. If you prefer a less sweet dessert, than the green tea & mocha is also great.
Great dessert spot!!! The dessert comes out in a bowl full of shaved ice with condensed milk, covered in fruit, topped with whipped cream!!!
Finely shaved ice with condensed milk and your choice of what you like as the topping.Green tea tastes like nothing, not good. The oreo/chocolate one was good. The strawberry mango was good too.
Great desert cant wait to go back and try other flavors! Being our 1st time there we went with the strawberry mango it was delicious!
Awesome place. Great dessert option after the all you can eat Korean BBQ next door! 😂
Best secret spot you don’t know about ! A must have !Bing Su !
