Easily the best coffee shop I’ve been in for a long time! Lovely atmosphere, excellent coffee including pour overs (for us coffee snobs), a great food selection which is v reasonably priced. I had a delicious vegetarian breakfast sandwich. Breakfast and lunch options, lots of choice for cakes and snacks too. A big space that I’d bring my little kids to. Very friendly staff. I will be back!

The coffee was pretty good at Dash! The cafe area was a little industrial and the music was louder than I like, but the drinks were delicious.Street parking was free, and there was a bike share station on the same block. Masks were still required 5/29/21.

My husband and I stumbled on this gem while visiting Cedar Rapids for a week. We came once and made it a daily go to!! The service was OUTSTANDING! Everything on the menu is from coffee, tea, and light baked goods to lunch/breakfast options are made with the highest quality ingredients. The baristas seem to take great pride in their menu and their work. They are so kind and helpful. We enjoyed $2 cappy-hour each day 3-6pm. We opted for the oatmilk.... DELISH!!! The ambiance and location was chic and inviting. Love everything about this place and will certainly return!!!

Whenever I’m in the area and need a caffeine fix I stop at Dash. They are one of the few coffee shops that consistently and properly steam their milk for espresso drinks, which makes all the difference when you crave a straight latte or flavored drink. Dash is extremely popular, I always seem to see a nice crowd both indoors and out. The staff are friendly and quick to prepare your order.

Love the re-usable glass jar option. The code is delicious, both beans and drinks. Grain bowls are all very tasty and the baked goods ruin my diet revert time I look at them! So good! Online ordering is very easy to use as well!

Great find during our travels. Great coffee, food and baked goods. The reason for 4 vs 5 stars is because the black coffee was $3 for a small cup and they don’t have an option to get more than a small. How about a choice to buy a small or medium/large? If I could be more precise in my rating I would give them a 4.2 out of 5 for the reasons stated.

Outstanding. Several great options for fresh locally-roasted beans, with interesting origins and characteristics (wash process, varietal, etc). I havent tried a pour-over here yet, but the batch-brew filter coffee is truly excellent. Also havent tried any milk drinks, but the barista pulled me a fantastic shot using their house espresso roast (anaerobic process beans sourced from Zambia, probably my favorite for making espresso at home) - Im sure it would be just as great in a cortado, cappuccino, or latte. Very friendly staff, and cool location/building, too.

We were delighted to discover this unique little coffee shop near downtown Cedar Rapids. The motto on their wall is “Live Passionately” and they’re doing just that by promoting and serving their community. They do their own roasting in this 1920’s renovated building. The Iowa Sunrise breakfast sandwich was delicious! The freshly brewed coffee was hot and flavorful. My oatmeal & raisin flavored latte was smooth and creamy. We will definitely come back to this friendly gathering place for friends and neighbors!

Disgustingly cute place. Definitely dont go here if you are looking for a place void of energy, yet thats chill at the same time. I walked in for coffee and a place to hold a meeting. I walked out with a piece of local art and a new spot thatll take all my money.

Ok, THESE people know how to make a cappuccino. That I prefer.In the area I’ve reviewed, Roaster’s and Stillwater of Hiawatha. Their beans in general and cappuccino specifically do not hold a candle to Dash’s1. Their beans are that brown, non oily type that I’ve mentioned before. It is not dark-almost burnt like. Their coffee is light. One might say too light.2 the cappuccino was light too, unlike the other 2 coffee houses mentioned. I had Stillwater the day before and could not finish the cappuccino. Waaay to dark.3. The steamed milk, sooo I’m mentioning this because it was that noticeable between what I had yesterday and today. It was perfect for lack of better words. Rich, not too frothy but the Bubbles where micro and pleasantly delicious.Not to mention a fine latte art. I walked to my car so It got messed up. I appreciate that detail even though it was a cup to go. Just speaks to a level of higher care/standard.My only complaint (I laughed in my head about this) is how they described the bag of coffee I bought. I asked if their beans where dark or medium roast. The employee said they don’t roast too light or too dark, and told me about how the coffee would make me feel etc. like using words to describe coffee that are not food/liquid related words but like feeling and object words. It was weird. Their coffee is of a 3rd wave influence. Like I said the brown non oily beans.It was weird and pretty funny. Anyways definitely check them out.

Loved this place! The staff was fantastic and the coffee was wonderful. I ended up buying some of the Fresh Bloom beans and can’t wait to try it at home.The breakfast sandwiches were also a hit! Even if you don’t love coffee, the food here is great.

I really like the coffee here and have been going for awhile. The chai latte is so good and staff is always friendly. The only two things this place needs is to make it warmer. It is so cold I can’t ever stay long and my nose and hands freeze. Ive chosen other cafes based mostly on not freezing. Secondly, add some comfy couches or a rug. Its so acoustic heavy in the space. Otherwise, good cafe.

The coffee was incredible. They roast everything on site with an attention to detail that I have never seen before. The owner described the process by which they roast the coffee. Each set of coffee beans is personally selected and then carefully monitored during the roasting process to ensure quality. good job

First of the Chai tea was amazing and same with the Italian grilled cheese. The atmosphere is perfect. Best coffee shop in town and best Chai tea I have ever had.

Great food and coffee, but the prices are high. The to go coffee cups are way too small and the worst value in town. Please make the cups bigger! Also, it is time to take down the mask required sign!! Service is great here.

I discovered this gem on Wednesday amd have now ordered from them for 3 days in a row it is so good!! I have tried a new drink and food to go and it has all be exceptional. I have ordered online each time, and each time it is sitting on the counter ready to go when I get there. If its your first time, I highly recommend a flavored cappuccino and one of the grain bowls, I got the thai chicken, add avocado and it was out of this world!! Im pretty sure they added an entire avocado also. Everyone working there is so friendly, I always get a hello and goodbye even though I am there for just a few seconds. MUST TRY!!

Got an Espresso con Panna. Was great!! I was very happy to see it presented so well. The espresso itself was great. Probably the best coffee CR has to offer can be found here. The sparkling water was appreciated, as well as the chocolate I wasnt expecting! The chocolate itself wasnt great, but how could I complain about something I wasnt even expecting. All Im saying here is I think they could find a tastier little nugget to include. Highly recommended!!

Great place, a little sterile environment, but the cappy hour every day from 3-6 for $2 cappuccinos are something you will not want to miss!

Great coffee and food options. The baristas were knowledgeble and helpful in selecting the right coffee for me. The India pourover was well balanced and they let me sample the breakfast date on drip before I ordered. I wanted to take some beans home, but they didnt have any of the blend in stock, so they made and packaged some for me. The food options were perfect for a light lunch. Overall a great experience.

Im not a coffee drinker so my review is not a reflection on that. Nor is it a comment on their friendly service. I stopped by on a cool morning to get a pastry and have some hot chocolate. The drink was tepid at best and lacked a strong chocolate flavor. Given the colorful sprinkles it was topped with, I suspect they assume its a childs drink. The cinnamon bread I tried didnt seem to be fresh, being on the dry side.

Decided to try this place out two days ago and boy am I glad I did! The service is so friendly and nice. And for the coffee was amazing, I’ll be coming here any time I have a chance:)

A good place to get work done with plenty of outlets, Wi-Fi is hit & miss and wont replace Starbucks in that department. (A coffee lover can hope!) This may change over time as it gets more popular, but for now, its an easy spot to find an outlet to power your editing session. They also remembered soundproofing! Its actually not overwhelmingly loud even at a full house, great touch that most places forget. Highly recommend the One & One and the Cali Fresh.

This place has a great atmosphere; i especially love the soft, chill, ambient music in the background. people (writers or bloggers, probably) hang out for a while with their laptops, but the best seats — the stools near the windows with all of the light — are being filled and emptied faster, great for singles or parties of two. theres muted conversations and the soft clattering of the kitchen to muffle your own talking.the coffee is pretty good, and certainly cheaper than say, starbucks, by a couple of bucks, but is simpler, less sugary, and VERY smooth. it also comes in cute glass jars with a leather sleeve, emblazoned with Dash Coffee Roasters.one other thing: their parking lot is awful and pretty smal, so try to park on the street. but hey, bad roads is part of cedar rapids charm, right?(if available, try the lemon blueberry bars; it has a sugar cookie-like crust thats scrumptious.)

My experience here was average But the only thing I notice that you had to be special because they take your name for your order and that some point some people they bring Their food to table and some other people have to go get their food I guess you had to be a special person here

THE BEST coffee shop in eastern Iowa. Being from the northwest, I am used to having a fantastic local coffee shop on every corner. Such is not the norm in the Midwest. Dash makes me feel at home. Their high quality food and drinks are worth every penny. The customer service is always above and beyond, and every month I look forward to the new monthly drink specials! 10/10 would recommend.

First time here, but I very much enjoyed the coffee. Im not one for the hip minimalist vibe, but this place does have that, Im more in it for the location and good coffee, and this has that as well. Words like cozy or inviting dont really apply here, probably much better described as spartan and minimalistic, which may appeal to some, just doesnt necessarily do it for me. But overall its got good coffee, a good location for me, and I will definitely be back.Update: so now Im pretty much a regular at least once a week usually twice. Love this place.

Imagine that perfect cup of coffee.....now think to yourself, is there anyway this could get better? Go to Dash and experience the caffeinated nirvana of perfectly balanced flavors all captured in a cup. Its a cup that keeps you sipping to the point of almost chugging.Downside? Makes other coffee taste like brewed dirt.So definitely wade through the waters of depressed looking hipsters too engrossed in their laptops to notice the sun is shining and enjoy an awesome coffee.

Recently moved to Cedar Rapids and have been trying out local coffee shops. Definitely one of my favorites! The espresso is amazing and the milk steamed perfectly. Great atmosphere/music and you can tell that the employees are passionate about what they’re doing!

Love the vibe here. Smoothies and cold brew are my favorites on the menu. Its a little dark in the back; my sun seeking self loves the seats by the big front window. And bring something with sleeves in the summer, its always chilly!

The staff was friendly. The chai was homemade and delicious. The mango smoothie my guest had was also tasty. The peanut butter oatmeal bar was good.The best part was a bag of the Peru blend coffee that I took with me. It’s the best smelling coffee I have ever smelled! It tastes wonderful too.

Employees are very nice and even remember my name when i order, this is quite literally the best coffee shop ive been to. my favorite fo sure the nawlins is amazing.

I Got the Tuscan Sun and it was literally the best breakfast sandwich Ive ever tasted. The coffee almost made me cry it was so good. I think I just experienced a little piece of Heaven today. The service was also excellent with friendly and helpful staff.Dash...you rocked my socks

Like others have said, I dont care about atmosphere more than the quality of coffee. Dash is easily the best coffee spot in the area, great beans, great employees, heck even great customers. The only problem being price is about 20% higher than competition. I will say though that i understand the premium and do enjoy supporting local over dunkin donuts or Starbucks

We just got a drip coffee, iced americano and 2 day old scones...and everything was Delicious!! The espresso is so smooth.

Great espresso, great space, great people!I very much enjoyed my stop at Dash. The Pirate Pup is their current espresso blend and they cup it very well. Also kudos for carrying a good selection of milk alternatives (although I order milk)!I heard about them from a Best roaster in every state article from Food and Wine - but they must have been really quick on the draw since theyve been open less than a year!

We really liked it here. Had some V60 pour overs of an Ethiopian coffee and lunch. Great food and nice atmosphere.

I am decidedly picky about pastries and a coffee snob. It is hard to be negative about either at Dash. It has become one of our favorite early morning spots. They open at 6:30, smile when you come in and serve great scones. Their breakfast sandwich is a quality product and they don’t flinch if you customize a little. I hesitate to write such a good review and have the place get too busy but they work hard and deserve the credit!

Great cafe for a quick stop off the bike path. The salads are fresh and delicious, and the chai tea had a full velvety texture - very soothing on a cold winter day.The only downside is a lack of bike racks in the area.

This is a really nice place with some decent coffee. I decided to check it out because it’s a short walk from my apartment. I like the industrial aesthetic and it definitely has a chill vibe. However, $3 for 12oz of black coffee is hard to justify.

By far the best coffee down to the last drop. For me, the MOST important thing - it is never bitter! Favorite drink maple nut latte hot or cold!! Amazing😁
