Zero or minus stars: I am currently a customer of Prime Storage Chapel Hill. The co. purchased the storage facility from Public Storage. The advertised rates on Prime Storages website, for this location, are more than what I am being charged for my units. I called to ask why I pay more than the advertised rates. I was told its because I am an existing customer and therefore I have to pay more. I have been a customer for nearly 30 years--when the property was operated as Starpoint Storage. Never missed a payment and have never been late. But, therefore, I am required to pay more than new customers! Is it right? Of course not! Is it fair? No!

When we signed up this storage was Public Storage. The sign up and check in was excellent. Although we did not get notified about the change in name/leadership, the check-out was excellent as well. After I notified Prime that we had everything out and the lock was removed I did receive a text about my next payment was due. I called and explained that we had checked out the previous week. They were very kind and said they would get it fixed. Overall excellent experience and very clean place.

Great communication provided by prime storage workers and online payment system is convenient. Was disappointed they would not prorate my last month of storage despite only occupying the unit for less than 7 days of the 31 day month I moved out in.

Worse Experience EVER in over 50 years. Do Not Waste Your Time with These People!!!!!! They will take your Money and Yet Not rent you the Unit!!! I am an out of town customer that paid online for a unit with a move in date of 5/15/2021. Upon my arrival on 5/15/2021, I discovered that my unit (172) was locked (with a blue lock) by the Public Storage facility personnel. Therefore, I was unable to move into the unit, however, management refuse to refund any and all money I paid to move in the unit. Never mind it was their failure to give me access to my paid for unit. I have contacted the local office on Booth Rd in Chapel Hill and the corporate office yet everyone gives me the run around. I even was given a number by corporate for the District Manager, Kevin that does not even work. This storage company needs serious training or need to be closed. Horrible Customer Service but yet they are a Customer Centric Company!!!!!

Exactly what we were looking for as newcomers to the area. Eve was very helpful with our reservation and showed us a few different options to make sure we selected what was best for our needs! The facility is nice, with quite a few security measures in place. Highly recommend this location for storage needs in the Chapel Hill area!

Secure location, very convenient and accessible to load and unload. Prices good. Used it to store furniture and supplies for my graduate student son.

Went to public Storage yesterday to get a rental and was greeted by Caroline. She made the whole rental process quick and easy. Very friendly and great customer service. Loved that the office clean and neat.

Great place & management was very helpful

I have tired to contact them multiple time in the past 2 months only for them to never get back to me. They started charging me double what I had originally agreed to paying. I called Publix storage main line only to hear from them that this public storage does not exist. I’m am so confused and would like some answers but this location seems to never call me back

I should get a job here. Apparently, you dont even have to show up for work and can cancel reservations made online if you want.

He even offered to send pictures to assist in choosing the unit that best suited our needs. He walked us through the lease agreement/process and made everything quick and easy! Extra Storage Space in Chapel Hill is excellent in every way. The buildings are well laid out, in great shape, and offer a broad variety of storage sizes and solutions, all at very affordable prices. The management (Alan) is exceedingly helpful, communicative, friendly and professional. I am quite pleased to have found my way to this storage facility.

Had Eve as an assistant. Everything went smooth and worked well. The paperwork was easy to understand and went by quick. Serves was wonderful.

Everyone I talked to here was very kind and respectful to me! You could tell they wanted what was best for me and were always up front. I reserved a storage locker online and within 5 minutes someone contacted me about it, and actually recommended an even better storage unit for my things. The lease agreement had to be moved online due to COVID-19 but it was very easy and I actually preferred it to coming into the office. Great customer service, great and affordable storage unit! I highly recommend them and will definitely consider them first for my future (if the location is applicable) storage needs!

Alan is a gem. Had intended to shop around but Alan is so good at taking care of customers, the deal was sealed. Competitive pricing and a clean facility, with dollies, big elevators, wide hallways and a number of units. Felt comfortable from the moment I stepped in.

Thurston was a pleasure to work with and ensured I got the storage space that met my needs and importantly my budget. The building is new and most importantly clean. The elevators are spacious and so are the walkways which makes moving furniture much easier. There are carts available to use at no cost which is a big advantage over other storage companies. All said Im happy with my initial experience.

If I could rate this a zero, I would. I reserved a space not long ago, saw it and said i wanted it for two weeks from now.Since we as a country are now self isolating (Im well above the age to have to do so, even though all of us should), tonight I called to have them send me the papers.Oh, no, replied the clueless manager AND later the main office responder. You have to come in. Its our policy. We cant do it by email or phone. They insisted even after I explained pandemic conditions here, abroad and everywhere. I had to come in, they repeated.Each person added that the company hadnt figured out how to do business in pandemic circumstances. Really? In this day and age?Neither, by the way, was apologetic...their robotic replies were alarming. Im glad not to do business with them. Ever.

Beautiful new facility priced right! Everyone there, especially Thurston and Alan, were very helpful with every aspect in securing a clean, climate-controlled space. I feel very confident that my stored items will be safe yet easy to access.

Alan is great - very understanding with my many changes due to the moving company switching things around several times at the last minute. He explained everything in depth during the walk through and agreement signing and was happy to answer all of my questions. The facility is not the location in 15/501, but rather the entrance is across the street from the Wal Mart on 15/501...it’s tucked away a bit, but brand new! If you need storage I highly recommend this location! They have online specials from time to time and you can reserve on there and then go into the office at a later time too so it’s very convenient!

Such great service. Alan is literally the best. Needed a unit asap for a friend who was out of town and they let us stop by to open the unit after it closed since we were running late. Very nice facilities as well, high security was obvious.

It was great, and Thurston showed me a variety of units. This place has the cheapest units in the area, but not for lack of quality or location. He even helped with scissors when I needed to open the new lock I bought. An easy and convenient location!

This is a review for the facility ACROSS the street from the one right next to Walmart, I used Google Maps and it brought me right to it.I chose this location over the other one for the drive up ability and to save some money on a non climate controlled unit, though they do have climate controlled too.I was able to work directly with ALAN HILL the manager throughout the entire process. I didn’t need much additional information since i’ve rented storage units before and Alan was able to accommodate a quick process while still being very through.Overall I was very impressed

The location on the Orange/Chatham county line right off of 15 501 makes it convenient to Chapel Hill.They made moving in and storing our goods very easy.

The manager was really nice and helpful. Love that all the units are inside, climate controlled, and clean. They have carta you can use to move stuff up to your unit at no extra cost. Its not 24 hours, but I like that it isnt since the neighborhood isnt the best. 24/7 surveillance is nice enough though.
