Had a really great experience here. I can’t remember his name, he was the only one working and had a long line of bikes to work on. When I came in, he was very attentive and was very knowledgeable on the bikes. Left with full confidence the bike I bought was the one for me. He told us that during business hours I could come in and pump my tires if needed which was also very nice.

They are ALWAYS super helpful there with any questions I have had. I was completely brand new to road biking when I came there and they have spent a couple hours over the past few times I have been in helping me and making sure my bike is in the best working condition it can be! They really stand by their work as well. I had an issue after I had a tuneup with them (not their fault) and they helped to fix it on the spot and made sure it was working for my long rides. Great people!

I hadnt had service on my old hybrid bike in a while, although I use it a lot. Just got full service on it and its like riding a brand new bike. Maybe better than when I bought it (re-built). Price was less than I would expect for the quality of work and done faster than promised. Thank you! And please say hello to Big and Little True for me.

Can’t stress how important it is to have a good local bike shop like this. Heard abnormal noises from my front hub, went it and their mechanic found the problem in minutes. Potentially saving me many missing teeth. Great people very good at what they do, honest and fair. I’d send my mom here :)

Hands down the best bike shop in CHS. During the busy summer months, they took a little longer than expected tuning up my vintage bike, so they gave me a free rental to use and I didn’t go a day without wheels. Good people 🙏🏽

I had one of my tires stolen, and luckily found it. Did not know how to attach it again and I went here for help. Not only were they fast, but they were kind enough not to charge me since it was very minor. Very smart and helpful, have been here multiple times in the past as well for locks and other parts.

Do good work for relatively affordable price. However, not very reliable hours I’ve been there three times during their business hours and they were closed. Also never pick up the phone. Pretty frustrating dealing with these guys but no one else in town but their work is good and their prices are decent like mentioned before.

The Bicycle Shoppe on Meeting Street in Charleston is a great thing for all things bike related. If you need to purchase a bike, get a bicycle rental, or repair your bike this is the place to go. I have been impressed with all the bikes and services that they offer throughout the years. The staff here is very helpful and knowledgeable and they are able to answer just about any question you have.

We stepped into this shop to inquire about biking and were given fabulous advice, an annotated map and tips from Floyd, the very helpful and charming employee, even though we werent sure if or when we would return. As a result of his assistance, we did return- the next day - and were greeted warmly, again by Floyd. Such great service, convenient location and wonderful biking! While Charleston is not really a bike friendly town (no true paths, just bike lanes and several unexpected cobblestone streets) it is flat and easy to navigate. A great way to check out neighborhoods, the waterfront and historical sights. Highly recommend the Bicycle Shoppe for biking Charleston!

Very helpful. Good bikes. Helmet rentals too. Walked in with the vague we should get bikes idea and inquired about rates, etc., and the employee gave us the idea of biking out to Sullivans Island and explained the route, including when we should steer clear of the streets. The rental came with a helmet and locks. Great little shop.

Super friendly staff. The first time I went in they didnt mind helping me find tires. The second time, I walked in and one of the guys remembered me being in there and knew exactly what I was coming for. They put on new tires in a timely manner and were super friendly with each interaction. They were also the cheapest on the peninsula, that I found, that did it. If you buy tires from them its a free installation.

I was visiting the city from California and enjoy bike riding around the bay area. Bike rentals are new in Charleston but this shop was great at getting me a bike, telling me about the rules (watch out for cars) and suggesting where I could ride. Spent about two hours riding around town, $6! Go there, nice people, good deal!

I have been a loyal customer for over 4 bikes. Ive even referred friends to this unreasonable, over-priced bike shop. I ordered a bike through this store and weeks later, I informed these clowns who work there, yet lacking the skills and experience for their jobs, that I will be moving out of state. I was reassured that I would receive a full refund. Hundreds of calls later, the same clowns who work there, cannot give me back my refund. First, they blamed it on the computer. Next, it must have been my bank that made a mistake. What next?

Strongly recommended! I had to ship out my bike after a tour, but because I was on a tight budget, I had to decline their offer to pack my bike (the right way). Nevertheless, they kindly supplied me with boxes, packing foam, and tools so that I could disassemble and pack the bike myself (another bike store nearby tried to charge me for boxes/foam going to the trash). Kevin, in particular, was a really nice guy, and I couldnt have packed and shipped my bike without his advice/help. Much appreciation and respect to you guys for the generosity and excellent service.

Very disappointed. We have used this bike shop since we moved to Charleston 5 years ago. I bought a cruiser there and have had maintenance and repairs done on that bike and my daughters bike. I have bought several accessories there as well. I took it in on a Saturday for a tune up - I originally just wanted a gear realignment but the guy who checked me in upsold me a full tune-up and that was fine, the bike needed it. I told him I didnt need it for a week, gave him my number to call me when it was done and left. I was out of town for work so my husband checked on it the following Friday late morning and they hadnt even started on it yet. The did the work and he was able to pick it up Friday afternoon late as I needed for a training ride on Saturday morning. However, they only did the gear realignment and had no knowledge of the fact that I had been promised a tune up. I called and spoke to the employee who was there and expressed my disatisfaction. He said they have no record of who checked it in and no idea why the work was never done. I him to have a manager or owner to call me. So, that never happened. No one ever called and I will be taking my bike to another shop to get the tune up and have work done in the future.

I needed a quick fix for a sticky/squeaky shifting lever because I was on tour and only going to be around that afternoon. The mechanic dropped what he was doing, put my bike in the stand, and took the time to figure out what was wrong. Got it shifting smoothly and threw in a bar plug that I was missing for no charge. What a gentleman!

I was biking around downtown Charleston when I hit a tight alley (20-ish wide) and wrecked which ended up in a bent front wheel. I did a quick search for bike shops nearby and found this one only 0.8 Miles up the road from me.When I arrived they were very helpful with getting me a replacement wheel and even provided me with access to a pump and rim tape as I put my tube and tire back together. After getting it all back in place my brakes scrubbed and different person there helped me adjust them and even tightened up my headset when he noticed how loose it was.I would recommend this shop to anyone in the downtown Charleston area, they were extremely helpful!

Cannot recommend these guys enough. A part broke on my bike a few days ago, and I went to this shop to see if they could fix it for me. The Bicycle Shoppe didnt have the part, but they told me that Mikes Bike shop might. After biking out to Mikes, they did indeed have the part, however they told me it would be three days before I could come back and pick up the bike. After biking back to the Bicycle Shoppe, one of the guys their put it the piece on my bike in five minutes. When it came time to pay, he told me to come back later, seeing as I had no cash on me. These guys have phenomenal customer service, and whenever I need parts, this is the first place I go.

Went to three CHS area bike shops while looking for a mountain bike, and happened to go the Bicycle Shoppes Mount Pleasant shop while Tod was there. His high level of knowledge and quirky personality convinced me that I had found the bike and shop Id been looking for. Went back the next week to the downtown location, and as luck would have it, Tod was there that day and gave me just the right amount of guidance that I needed to make my final decision. And that was just the beginning; Tod shortened my bars, installed a new pair of grips that would accommodate bar ends, changed out my saddle, sent us a goody bag of supplies and probably a couple of other things I didnt even notice to get the bike just right for me. All of this took time on a day when the shop was pretty busy, but it was done competently and with a smile, and I walked out a very happy customer. Thank you Tod for all of your help - I love my new bike!!!

Bicycle Shoppe did not do what I had asked them to do. I brought my bike in for a tune-up about three weeks ago, calling in advance to ask if they could rush my tune-up as I use my bike for every day commuting. They said no problem. When I brought my bike in, I specifically mentioned the phone call regarding timing, and that there was a squeaking/rattling sound coming from the back wheel, that I wanted the bike locks holder raised and tightened, and to PLEASE CALL ME when the mechanic got the bike in the stand. After three days (the weekend and Monday) I started calling them daily to check on the progress. They kept telling me that it would be soon and I would get the call. I never got the call from the mechanic or from the store that my bike was ready for pick-up. I went to pick it up and the mechanic told me I was in serious need of the tune-up, and that I probably wouldve wanted to replace the cassette and drive train. This is EXACTLY why I told them to have him call me when it was in the stand! I did not have time at this point to start a new work order, as I had already spent $60+ on parking for the days that I didnt have my bike.Since then, Ive noticed more problems. They did not raise my bike lock holder as I specifically asked. The random squeaking in the back wheel went away, but now both breaks squeak every time I break. I will not be taking my bike back to The Bicycle Shoppe for work, nor would I recommend anyone else take their bikes there.
