Ive always loved B&N, since Borders disappeared. This location is always peaceful and well stocked!!

Hannah the café manager provided exceptional customer service to me today when I walked in for breakfast and to do a little bit of work. She helped me pick out what I would like best and was super friendly, cheerful, and went above and beyond to make a personal connection with me. I definitely plan to visit again!

Really like this Barnes & Noble Booksellers location as it has a central location and is easy to get in and out of. It has wifi and a location to meet people for business and is quiet at most times. I like the ability to check out books and read a little bit of them and hold them in my hand prior to purchasing them and this location allows that to happen. Everybody inside is super helpful and will make sure that you find the book you are looking for or order it for you so you can pick it up later to enjoy. I hope this location will be around for many years to come.

Very clean store, was able to go right in and find exactly what I was shopping for. The staff was polite, professional, and available for any assistance if needed. Very happy with our purchase and this store! Will be back.

Went to Barnes & Noble to get a drink, to sit and fellowship, and to use the internet for 30 to 40 minutes. The staff working as baristas and the Starbucks was the blind leading the blind. Luckily the manager stepped in and after a while of trying to explain things to the staff, finally just told them what to do. PS. To the manager: I love your pretty red hair.

I mean its excellent for a modern Barnes and Noble with great cafe.. but as its been years since Id been in one I was shocked at how few actual books it had in it.

This is my favorite Barns and Noble. It is clean, big, organized, and peaceful. Just as a book store should be. They have a Starbucks on the inside to the left. Every one that works there has been extremely kind. They have a little kid section in the back. And they have a board game section too. Pretty usual for a book store.

They closed the North Charleston store I just learned about a couple weeks ago. The West Ashley store still holds strong though. I love the big book stores this and Books.a.Million model themselves after. I enjoy sitting inside the cafe messing around on the computer or flipping through one of many graphic novels. This store is in a strong location, and they offer everything from childrens educational activities to Audio books.

I have to say this was one of my most pleasant visits to Barnes and Nobles. I was in search of a couple of books for Christmas gifts. I got great help from customer service in helping me find the books I was looking for. The reason I am only giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because when I got to the check out counter I had to wait a good 10 minutes for someone to come to the register to check me out. Still better then my last visit. Seems they have made some good changes in staffing. Keep up the good work.

Well-organized and clean. Staff here are super friendly and helpful. Cafe inside is large with plenty of space to spread out. The childrens section is impressive, and keeps my toddler occupied for a long time. I appreciate the convenience of ordering books online but nothing beats being able to walk into a bookstore and enjoy the tactile sensory experience that this Barnes & Noble provides

I always love my experience at Barnes & Noble its like being at a candy store. My recent visit was inspired getting books for my grandsons summer reading enrichment.

I always enjoy coming to Barnes and Nobles. The staff there are friendly, willing to help, and follow CDC guidelines for Covid. They also do their best to stock books that people are buying to keep a variety of books of that topic. Definitely recommend going if you have the time.

As a person with a condition for whom it is a health hazard to wear a mask, I was made to feel extremely UNWELCOME and DISCRIMINATED against when told at the counter that I would not be allowed to make a purchase without wearing one. The hypocrisy of that statement was laughably apparent given that I had already browsed the store unhindered for 20 minutes or so, and had selected several titles to purchase. I was dismissed from the store and will not return.

Sad to give this review but B&N is definitely no longer what it once was. Deliver time on orders for the last few requests has been longer than Amazon, so why would I want to drive across town when I can order it faster (and less expensive) online. Same selections of books but not the same atmosphere. Difficult to find any help when in the store.The final straw for me was when I took my 12 year old yesterday for him to buy a book and use a free pastry coupon he had been holding since our last visit 3 weeks ago. Upon checkout he was excited to get another receipt coupon to get a pastry for $2.00. When we walked over to the coffee section to redeem it they informed us that they wouldnt honor the free coupon because it was expired. He tried to pick out a selection for the $2.00 coupon and they said it was limited to only 4 options(which were $2.75 each) and required the purchase of a drink. We grabbed a bottled water to buy and the city lady at the counter informed us that, No, it had to be a Starbucks coffee. So I have to spend $6.00 on a coffee to save $.75? Disappointed to see this type of nickle and diming from a company that used to have some class. Will be using Amazon exclusively from now on

Large selection of books, puzzles, games, and the best of all LEGOS.

It is a pleasure to go into this bookstore. Just to be able to browse is a treat that I havent had in a while. Not busy but plenty of staff to help. Also, ordering online and picking up in the store was easy. Cant wait to go back.

They guided me directly to the section I inquired about and made some really terrific recommendations for the genre (The Wheel of Time for you GoT fans out there, I also purchased those books along with the ones pictures below).No pressure, no up-selling fancy books, just honest opinions from fellow readers. I will be back to add more titles to my collection based solely on the terrific customer service and warmth exhibited by the employees here. Top marks!

Neat place to read and buy books! They have chairs you can sit in while checking out books. Nice selection of anything you might want. Kind of really pricy. But nice place!

I think the days of brick and mortar book stores are slowly coming to an end. Barnes and Noble has been around for years. But with online sales and competition from Amazon it is waning. The recent closure of the North Charleston branch accelerated this theory. The staff here are super friendly and the cafe is always a welcome stop. You can get lost in here amidst the stories. Enjoy an afternoon.

This location is a pretty nice place for some books. The manga section, someone told me, is a little small, but make up for it on the website

The young female manager should take some manner classes. Very aggressive women. The “coffee” she made is pure milk with half shot of coffee. That definitely wasn’t one shot. I wasted my money.

Ms Reese helped me find poopsie slime surprise for my 2 grand daughters and Im so grateful to her. Its not easy finding things to do safely with my grand children during this pandemic and these packs are so much fun. They have slime that you make together and a blind bag with a 😍beautiful creature baby inside. Very hard to find these now since the pandemic Im not even sure if they are making them anymore. Been a hand full of times, 2/5 times bought a book. Was looking for more non fiction but i suppose amazon has the selection. Still quiet and comfortable inside. Plus the Starbucks is nice.

Ive been coming to the west ashley one for years, but Im not coming back. The manager followed us around the store the entire time for some reason. Weve always been quiet and courteous and with COVID-19 we have complied with masks and distancing. Tonight we watched her follow like two other people around the store and nitpick at them for random reasons. She began to follow us and then later asked us to leave because my friend was joking around and bopped a plushie. she comes around and very rudely asks me to leave and then follows us out of the store. not coming back if were gonna have to deal with that now.

The attitude at the register was horrible.

I ordered a book through their location that I never received because the attendant input the incorrect address. I received an email stating the book was returned to the warehouse and that I would be issued a refund. In the mean time the book came into stock and so I purchased it in store all the while waiting for my refund. Since Early June I have inquired about my refund in store at least 6 times and theyve always told me they would work on it and get back to me. Spoiler alert, they never do. So after 3 months of waiting/inquiring they still refuse to refund me for a book that never arrived.

I love book stores, it just reminds me of a time when everything had its own store and not everything was bought in amazon.

I called the store this morning at 10 minutes to 9. I was expecting to get the answering machine. However, I got a person, as I was asking for help with information about two books. I was told we are not opened yet and I am cleaning the bathroom. I asked then, why did you answer the phone if you were not willing to help a customer? She stated that she was cleaning the bathroom and needed to answer in case it was one of her employees. If you are not open until 9 and not willing to help customers when you answer the phone before opening, then JUST DONT ANSSWER THE PHONE! Worst customer service ever!! Not the first time with poor service at the West Ashley location. Have to say I will not be back!!!

The one in west Ashley is doing a solid job with covid spacing and its proximity to duck doughnuts is a plus. The woman her works in the Cafe with a German accent is an absolute doll, shes been giving me tea since highschool and is always cheery.

We always love going to Barnes & Noble. My daughter and I both enjoy walking around looking at all the books & toys. Im so glad Ive been able to raise her where she had the opportunity to go to a book store to look at and pick out new books.

I love the smell of a newly printed book. Which is why Ive never tried the E-books. A book can take you anywhere, you can be anyone, do almost anything, all thru the written word. A book is a magic carpet! And B & N is chock full of them. Just walk in, take a deep breath, and buy one. Or three.

Nice atmosphere and service was excellent.

This Barnes and Noble is great. They have the best Starbucks location. They have a larger selection of tea and other beverages. My drinks always turn out better here than any other Starbucks location. I did a little shopping while sipping my drink and got some great member deals on movies and books Id been waiting to buy. Employees were very helpful and friendly.

Stop in from time to time to check out their POP! selection, occasionally find some good buys. Nice B&N, busy location, and Starbucks attached. Only downside is the traffic in the area.
