M Dumas & Sons is a great place to find mens clothing and shoes on King Street in Charleston. The clothes here are very Charleston and will have you ready to look good and fresh for all seasons. The store is large on the inside and has a great selection of all types of clothing from casual to business and everything in between. The staff here is extremely helpful in making sure that you find everything you need and will find something for you if need to locate something specific. The prices are really good here the quality of clothing they carry and there are always specials and sales to provide even more value. I have always had a good experience shopping here and there are many reasons to come back.

M Dumas is my favorite mens store. Clark and Collin are always very helpful. I can find both casual and something dressier. Great selection of sport coat fabrics if you need a custom coat. Always a great place for southern apparel for locals.

M. Dumas & Sons is a wonderful shop to purchase many of your favorite mens brands. They offer a wide variety of casual mens attire along with garments that you can go out to dinner in. I was very pleased with my recent experience and will return for my spring needs!

The place is great. Price is amazing. I discovered an issue with my suit just days before a wedding so with less than 24 hours until the wedding I met Price and he had me all set and ready to go.The store has an excellent selection of high quality and fashionable mens wear. To be honest I was pleasantly surprised to have encountered such a store in Charleston.If you need help Price is the man.

I was informed by a friend of Dumas & Sons and advised at the very least I stop in.From start to finish, Price was professional and handled my challenging needs and requests. He managed each obstacle (which all were unique and time sensitive) gracefully.I certainly would recommend anyone looking for suits, shirts, blazers and all of the above, check out Dumas. Yes they arent the cheapest store on the block, but if you want the most valuable aspect of the store, which is the talent working there, you cant argue they are among the best.At the very least stop in, these guys know the term budget and offer solutions to respectfully stay within yours.

Quality and style for a price!

The sales associates are very helpful and friendly. They dont try to push you into a purchase. They are very knowledgeable on what is trendy with both men and womens clothing styles. The sales associate Price was exceptional with his aide for my purchases. I would recommend this shop and this sale man for all of your clothing needs.

I love Dumas. There is a lot of negativity about the customer service, but Ive never experienced anything but the best in service from these guys. Maybe its because I shop there several (3-4) times a year, but usually someone there recognizes my face at least, and a few times guys have remembered what I bought. The selection is awesome and Ive never been unhappy with anything Ive bought from Dumas. The only negative, if there is one, is that they are 20-30% higher than similar mens stores and significantly higher than online, but they do have selection. I love going there but you have to be disciplined not to spend more than you want to!

I have been shopping at M. Dumas for over 35 years. I love shopping in this store. They carry the absolute best brands. You can find anything from a t-shirt to a tailored suit, from flip flops to formal dress shoes. The sales people are great without being too over-bearing and they know what looks good. I would bet that 80% of the men in Charleston who wear a Seersucker suit, bought that suit in Dumas. It is a landmark for Charleston and I look forward to walking through the store every chance I get.

We only get to visit Dumas once in a blue moon but it is a real treat every time. Their sense of style is timeless, and the prices match the quality of the clothing. Also, really appreciated the sales staff, they were terrific at pointing out which cuts and sizes would work best for my build.

My Guy Price! Was just in town for my best friends wedding and they did an amazing job! Was able to get alterations and everything done seemlessly! I dont live there but if I did I would be going for all my high end fashion needs! Too many times people take time out to write bad reviews and I wanted to let people know, this was a Great Experience!

Amazing shop. Great place for one time purchases, not a place you visit once a week. Very stylish clothes, easy to notice from the street. Not a place to shop for children. They only carry adult clothing from what ive seen inside. Overall good place for fancy clothes.

If you have a net worth of a million plus - these guys MIGHT be nice to you. I went here to order my tux for graduation from the College of Charleston and was treated with little respect, right down to the head to toe judgement look. It was plastered all over his face that he didnt care to talk to me because i wasnt dressed like their customers.

Stopped by on Oct 15 in the late morning and had a very enjoyable experience.bought two pairs of shoes from Walker who had waited on me.everyone that I met were very helpful.I do plan on going back when time permits.

Absolutely the top menswear brands and best service ever. We spent over an hour with our salesman and they let us nurse our baby in the back, change him, and fill up water bottles. Truly full service! Will go back for sure.

I love preppy clothes, and I love that they have a selection of Vineyard Vines clothes for women since there is no Vineyard Vines store anywhere in SC. That being said, the selection is quite minimal and the customer service is lacking...if you get any service at all, that is. My fiance and I have visited the store many times and only once have we received any service. The place is a tad overpriced, but I expect it given the brand of merchandise; however, when I go to the Vineyard Vines store in Charlotte, NC., I receive much better service (help pulling sizes, etc.) for my money! Also, they close EXTREMELY early...like 5 p.m. or 6...so make sure you do your shopping before you eat or do anything else! Its a little inconvenient. I wish they carried boys clothes, too.

Be careful what you purchase here. Bought a polo with the wrong size tag on it. Went back just to exchange it for the right size and was told we didnt purchase it from there. Interesting place.

Love this store. I always go here when visiting Charleston. It is a crowded, busy store and as some folks mentioned, the customer service is slow but it is still a great experience and I ADORE their clothes for women and men. Will always shop here!

I have shopped at many high society haberdashery boutiques, I have to say that M.Dumas and Sons has a large selection and top quality. I have shopped at this store many times and I have enjoyed myself. Recently though the customer services has been noting but horrible.When I approach the counter to check out with over $500 worth of merchandise, I would prefer to not wait for service or the snarky attitudes of the clerk. After my last experience I will no longer be shopping at this store.

My husband and I were in shopping this afternoon and were quite displeased with the service. It is such a shame that such a nice clothing store has such horrible customer service. I was trying to pull clothes for my husband and the sales associate didnt bother to engage us to uncover our needs. As we were checking out another associate barely said anything other than what our total was. The lady even made an inference to my husbands height being a challenge. We have been shopping at Dumas since moving to Charleston but wont be anymore. I would suggest that Dumas put more emphasis on customer service and respect.

OMG! I have been going to Dumas since I was 15. I am now 61 (get the math?). They have Levis and corduroy pants and flannel shirts you could die for. Not to mention cool winter jackets. Im not a hunter or a fisher person, but there were always a bunch of those guys/gals in the store. So what if you have to wait around for someone to wait on you - I like to take my time personally. Im going to Charleston the end pf December & will make a special visit to DUMAS for sure!

I rented my CofC graduation tux from here for a great price. A small miscommunication happened with my order, but the sales associate Clark handled the situation very professionally and guaranteed that Id have my tux for graduation.

Undeservedly pretentious. The staff is obviously either, racist, or lacking expectation of anyone beyond a sterile, white, unseasoned exterior. Whats the difference? I walked into the store and was not greeted. Many other people, of the typical Charleston nature, walked in and were engaged in conversation by an older white female employee, who met my gaze many times and still failed to verbally acknowledge me. They havent a clue that I reside in New York City, working as a fashion publicist with many major publications and brands and spend many corporate dollars dressing A list names. I am disappointed, but unsurprised. Ill never spend a dollar in Dumas as the atmosphere is absolutely disgusting! Zero stars, had it been possible.
