Very disappointed in this place. First came in Thursday evening. Both my husband and I were followed by one employee. We spent 12 minutes in the store. Constantly being followed, within 6 ft of social distancing. BY ONE PERSON. Then a group of 6 others came in. They were putting on hats and very loud. Obviously having a good time. The employee continued to follow my husband and I around. We were very offended. We went online and ordered 3 of the same hats we saw in your store for $50 more.

Very rude worker on Monday, July 29, 2019. In the afternoon I was waiting for the bus and standing outside for one hour, due to the bus being delayed. It was an extremely hot day and I need to cool down. I also wanted to get a souvenir for my Father. So I went inside to look around at the hats and cool off. The worker told me I had to leave. I asked her why and she told me I had to leave, again. I did not want to argue too much because I did not want to heat up even more. So I left. She did not give me a valid reason. However, I do assume my ethnicity is the cause to why I got kicked out. Usually my kind of ethnicity is not common in Charleston. So she most likely got scared of me and kicked me out for that reason. It is a nice store with good staff according to their website and the reviews. I believed that is true. But that one employee was not so nice to me.

Darlene was wonderful! She was attentive to myself and others, providing a perfect blend of assistance and space to browse. She carefully looked over the hat to ensure no imperfections. When I mentioned an interest in another hat, too, but couldnt buy it at this time, she wrote down the style information for a future online purchase. I will definitely stop by the shop on my next visit to Charleston!

Finally found the Tommy Bahama Ive been looking for, in my size and style.Paid more than on-line prices but, at least I was able to get perfect fit. The sales woman was very helpful and knew the proper way to treat a hat. More than just a sales clerk.

We stop here every year and get a new hat but this year the clerk was so rude to my wife and the friends we met there. Three potential purchases walked out the door and we wont be back. We went across the street to the market and got a hat. After admonishing us for trying on a hat without asking for help she then talked about us to another customer, which was terribly rude. Used to recommend this place but no more.

I most definitely just got scammed at this shop by the older blonde woman manning the cash register. My husband wanted a hat for fishing and found one for $30. I picked out a hat that happened to not have a price tag. Apparently there was no way for her to type in an item number to find price so she pulled out a couple of similar hats that also happened to not have prices. So then she just started ringing me up (and of course, all sales final) — oh also you couldn’t see the prices coming up on their debit/credit machine as she was running it up, and ended up being charged $125 for one of these hats!! Are you kidding?! She had no reference for a price and when I asked just said - “oh this is a good brand”. Just a heads up for people stopping by there in the future!

Don’t use their website. Even one star is not worthy. They send me a damage item and even though I send back the damaged item, they haven’t reached me so far since I requested refund. If you don’t want to feel unpleasant, Don’t buy anything from their website.
