A great store, well-organized and its fantastic seeing so many genre movies on the racks. Sticker price on newer titles is close to MSRP, so check them out on Tuesday when movies are 20% off. Fun times digging in the well-priced used sections anytime.

This store has incredible customer service. Emily was so informative and helpful during the RSD June 21. I am so happy to find a new store to shop from! Must say this is one of the better stores in Charleston to shop for records, CDs, Cassettes, VHS etc. Staff are friendly and their selection is huge!

I cant imagine that you actually take these reviews seriously or else the guy I dealt with today would have been a whole lot nicer to me. I came in to exchange a gift of something I already own. Basically the punk kid told me I was S.O.L. When I said so should I just keep this and sell it myself online he laughed and said yeah you can do that. Is this really how yall do business? I literally wanted to exchange something and lets be honest, while shopping around I probably would have bought other things as well, but that kid really ruined my experience.

Monster is awesome!! Always a huge inventory of stuff to go through. Im always there for at least an hour or two going through the isles. The staff is just as awesome and always super helpful. Definitely a hidden gem in West Ashley!

Monster Music & Movies is an awesome place to find physical copies of music and other items that may be hard to get otherwise. I like being able to a music store and look through the racks for an album that I may have owned in the past or just discovered. Everyone that works here is really cool and knowledgeable and can help you find something that can be difficult to find. This is one of my favorite stores in Charleston to find a gift for someone that is hard to buy for.

Got a limited edition vinyl at a GREAT price ($25) and they shipped for $4! Even with their cheapest shipping option it got from SC to GA in 5 days and was in perfect condition. And they sent a sticker! So happy with my purchase!

This place Rocks 🤘🏻😜 You could spend hours in here no prob looking around and the staff is very helpful and friendly. I drive 40 minutes to get there and it is well worth it. Keep up the great work

Great selection, easy to find titles.. Unless they are in the clearance bin.. Last trip bought 17 movies.. Only 1 was messed up.. Too far to drive back so we took the loss! One time 3 movies out of 10 would not play.. Gotta be careful coz sometimes you get what you pay for! Update: purchased Mash seasons 1-4 and season 10 on eBay..finished off my collection here purchased seasons 5-9 and season 11 for only $6 a pop..ALL sets played great..😁

Ive been going here since it was Harbor Records and tapes on Sam Rittenburg. They have the best vinyl selection around plenty of novelties and plenty of t-shirts. Best place to go for music in Charleston

A large music store full of just about every type of music you could concive of, from new and used vinyl to audio DVD, they have just about anything that you could look for.A highlight was seeing The Protomen: Part 2 on vinyl; they have a really surprising selection, and there is sure to be something for you there if you have the time to look or ask.Inside, they are always playing some fun music and have a wide array of recommendations for all generes if you are just getting into music. If you just purchased a turntable and arent sure about buying some vinyl, they have a wide selection of used vinyl that is pretty inexpensive.Overall, a great place to spend some time browsing good new and old music!

I only looked at vinyls recordz, so I have no idea about CDs, DVDs, etc other than this store has a LOT of them I didnt look at.Found a couple of cool records in the 50% off bin as well as a cool Light In The Attic comp. Lots of great new vinyl, used selection was pretty good, definitely worth your time. Staff was really nice, prices seemed pretty fair on the new and used stuff. They had 45s I didnt have time to look through. Great spot to dig for cheapos for sure.

This music store has just about any kind of music you want, from kpop to classical. All kinds of records, tapes, cds, movies, even saw some VHS tapes! Reasonably priced. Super friendly staff.HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!

Very neat place all kinds of different media to choose from new and used. We picked up just about everything except for a laser disc. For the used I thought fair pricing. The staff was super friendly. We were visiting from out of town and will return when we vacation.

Went there for the first time today. They are following good social distancing rules by limiting the number of people in the store at a time. The staff was also very friendly and knowledgeable.

Support your local record and movie shops! This rag tag group of friends has found a way to keep this place open even during the pandemic and continues to give above and beyond service and help and carries stuff youll have a hard time finding in other stores and online!

Every time Ive gone in here the staff havent exactly fallen over each other to help you. You might get a hi; but they are around if you need them. I liked how everything was neat and where I expected it to be, so I found a lot of the albums I was looking for. They even ordered me an album, supposedly, so lets see how that goes. Definitely a gem in the rough

They offer a better selection of used vinyl than most shops, although outside of 70s-80s, jazz, etc. youll probably have to buy new. Im sure the used section gets picked clean fairly often. Great selection of new vinyl as well. Staff is always super friendly and helpful and they are always listening to something good.

Great place to pick up vinyl. They have a selection of popular items like stickers, shirts, and figurines for sale. One of the last places to get some good incense in west Ashley. Staff are knowledgeable and helpful every time I have visited.

I have always loved this place and hope I always will! The staff is knowledgeable and they are always attentive. It is the iconic and quintessential record shop. They also have an amazing selection of collectible/ music culture items. If I can’t find the perfect gift I go here and find it. They buy used DVDs and CDs. They are fair and generous when doing so as well.

Found lots of old school R&B albums. They have a nice variety. A bit pricey for vinyl nowadays but the selection is nice.

I love this place for all the right reasons. Been going there since I was a kid. Ill always call it Manifest, but Monster has grown on me simply by being one of the only places in my hometown that I still recognize. And they know music.

Went in had items I wanted to trade old great classic and all. Called before going the gentleman said oh look around it will take a minute before I had a chance to look at anything he walked up to me and said oh we not interested mind you some of my items wasnt even open. This state is very racist slavery is over with I thought. I didnt need any money wanted to do trades only very disrespectful didnt said hello or welcome to monster music and movies all it was is what you wanna sell some stuff. All black people isnt broke remember that. Made that statement because you treated me like you were a racist God bless will never purchase trade or do business with this company. First off I didnt deal with the owner. So your comment means nothing to me dont respond on something you know nothing about. I know how I was treated when I came in the store. You can stay off my reviews and I never had any vinyls only DVDs my point on saying you wasnt present when I came to that store have a great day! Pretty cool place. There are tons of things to go through here (vinyl, Pops, movies, clothing etc). They have a plethora of new and used vinyl to choose from at pretty reasonable prices. I shop here weekly. The only negative is I wouldnt ever sell any vinyl here; the offers are borderline insulting and they dont give store credit. Great local record store!
