We totally recommend Bryant! My wife and I fished with him for two days and enjoyed every minute of it. Bryant is skillful, personable, hard working and fun to be with. He put us on fish throughout. We especially liked the way he provided information quickly about fish he spotted, what they were doing and what he wanted us to do. His skiff was easy to fish off of, his equipment was first rate and his fly selection was spot on. He even made great dinner recommendations! We’re looking forward to future outings with him. Thanks Bryant!

Fished 2 half day fly fishing trips with Captain Bryant and what a great guide and good dude. He did whatever necessary to get on the fish, some serious GRIT. I will be making future trips with him and would check him out, you wont be disappointed. Reds on the fly, great stalks and what a rush!

I look for three things from a guide (1) Does he have experience? Yes, Bryant has it. He knows his craft, the waters and the gear. (2) Does he put me on fish? Yes he does! He knows where they are, when they are going to be there and what they want to eat. (3) Is this a person I can spend hours alone with? Yes - he is a truly good guy and great at both conversation and also not talking. I had a great time and the results speak for themselves.

Captain Bryant went above and beyond to not only put my son on the fish he had been dreaming for months about but spent the time to teach us the area, methods and tips we needed to connect on our own the rest of our trip. If your looking for someone to learn from and have fun fishing with its Captain Bryant. We will be booking again whenever in the area. Thanks Captain

Bryant was one of the best guides I have ever used on a fishing adventure. Bryant is the guy that will make your day on the water an enjoyable experience. He worked hard to find the redfish that we were looking for the this day. We saw sharks and porpoise as well.I learned much about the environment we were fishing. He gave me the option of bringing my own equipment or Bryant will supply quality gear for your use.

As an obsessive fly fisherman from Pennsylvania, visiting the area, I not only wanted to catch fish in the salt (on the fly), but I was seeking a true salt fly fishing guide; I could not have asked for any better experience than that with Captain Wilson. Captain Wilson worked tirelessly, mostly poling, to provide as many “shots” as possible. While also rigged up with spin rods, which would have most likely quadrupled our catch, given conditions, he entirely supported my fly fishing only pursuit with enthusiasm. Akin to a Doctors’ bed side manner, his disposition was exemplary and his experience was apparent. I truly look forward to fishing with Captain Wilson on future visits.

Captain Bryant is great. He was able to guide my girlfriend and I, both sight fishing amateurs, onto some skinny water reds. Bryant was patient with both of us as we tried to shoot line accurately. Ultimately it was a killer trip, we both landed big reds and got the share the new experience of watching the fish tail and push water down skinny creeks.

I had an amazing day full of fish with Bryant Wilson, owner of Slackwater Expeditions. We landed some good ones. Got broke off by a couple bigger ones and saw some just overall amazing activity that day. I have never fished a fishery with so much of a tide swing. It was so cool to watch and chase these fish that I know as Texans and Louisianians over there in beautiful Charleston. Bryant is a top notch angler, guide and overall gentleman I would highly recommend if you’re ever in the area and want to go after reds with a fly rod!

We had a great day fishing with Bryant. He was extremely knowledgeable, accommodating, and friendly. He worked with Leslie and me on our form and mechanics, and he made sure we both landed fish. Bryant knows the area well and gave us a great tour of the flats as we moved around to find fish. His boat and equipment were top notch. We will absolutely book another trip with Bryant next time we are in the area.

Had a great outing with Captain Wilson. The day started slow but boy did he work to find us some fish. The day ended with him taking us to what we now know as “Bryant’s redfish farm”. Details will remain a secret but he found them. Would not hesitate to go again!

My husband and I honeymooned in Folly Beach, SC. We spent a morning with Captain Bryant and had a wonderful day. He was very informative and helpful, we loved hearing about fishing all year round in Charleston. I’ve been on many charter fishing trips, this by far was my favorite. Captain Bryant went above and beyond and even kept us out awhile longer than originally planned so we could catch more fish. We can’t wait to come back and spend more time with him out on the water! If you’re looking for something to do while in Charleston, don’t skip out on this!

Ive gone fishing with Captain Bryant twice now, and as a former charter guide myself, I cant help but say that hes got his thumb on the pulse of when and where the bite is happening around Charleston.Between his local knowledge (hes from the area) and his web of intel, he pulls out all the stops and puts you on fish.We fished two opposite ends of Charleston between our two trips. One day he put me on several schools of big jacks, all within perfect fly-casting distance. We then hit multiple flats, and all the while he was keeping a keen eye on what turned out to be a surprise flood tide.We bolted over to some tailing waters where, sure enough, there was nobody else in sight because no one else had forecasted the unexpected flood tide, and we had about a dozen fish actively tailing all around us, all to ourselves. The next day we went out was in a stronger northeasterly, but he had his protected spots all lined up and we were on fish all morning long. We even found a few hungry sharks cruising the shallows, and while we got a couple of takes, somebody (me) blew the hookset. We found flounder, sizable redfish just about everywhere, and even in a blow, the guy is an expert poler. He was quick to change gears, kept the boat tidy as can be, and kept me perfectly pointed on fish while poling for hours. What can I say? He does whatever it takes to get the fish in front of you, putting the right cast in is on you.He always seemed to have another spot lined up if things werent working out at one stop, and he knows exactly which spots are working on which tides, as well as all the holes down to a little alcove in an oyster bed or a little depression off a grass line. I dont know how many times he pointed out a spot, told me to put a lure in there and promised a fish, but more often than not there was one lying in wait precisely where he said theyd be.Some people are fishier than others, and while Ive spent a good bit of time fishing around Charleston, I never really cracked the code.Captain Bryant not only put me on tons of fish, he taught me a wealth of information, and gave me a lot more confidence to get out and find fish on my own. That said, theres nothing like an expert guide, and I look forward to getting out with him again this winter when the water is clearer and the redfish are schooling up. Its a less appreciated time of year for the fishery, but it is far and away the time to get down there with a fly rod and land double digits in a day.Cant thank you enough, Captain, and I look forward to our next outing!OwenP.S. -- Capt. Bryant is also a former professional photographer, which is always appreciated when it comes time for a photo op!

My wife and I had the pleasure of fishing with Captain Bryant Wilson. From the very beginning of the trip, Bryant worked very hard to put us on the fish. He definitely succeeded. We saw redfish everywhere and landed our fair share throughout the day. Bryant was as excited as we were when hooking up and landing some monster redfish. Bryant was super knowledgable of the area and the best spots under the current conditions. Bryants laid back personality made for excellent conversation and we definitely felt like wed made a friend by the end of the trip. We plan to set up another trip next time we are visiting! Thanks again.

I have fished with many fly fishing guides over the years and hands down I can say Capt. Bryant is top notch. Despite some picky fish early we were able to turn things around and have one of the best days I’ve had chasing tailing redfish, not to mention a new personal best! Also Bryant can take some epic fishing photos to make your trip even that much more memorable. Can’t wait to fish with him again next time I’m in the area. Highly recommended

Fantastic trip fly fishing for reds during the flood tide with captain Bryant. His knowledge of the area is immense and has a ton of tucked away spots that get very little pressure. We landed a ton of reds one of which was pushing 30”.I’ve gone on guided fly trips all over the world and this was one of (if not the) best trips I’ve been on.

Had an excellent day on the water with Bryant at Slackwater Expeditions! Even though I have fished the Lowcountry around Charleston for many years, he took me to areas I had never seen before and taught me new techniques that I had never used. The water was skinny and the fish were plenty as we presented flies and topwater plugs to hungry reds with great success.

Fished two separate times with Bryant. One flood tide in the grass which was very exciting with lots of big tailing reds. The second was a low to high tide which presented greater variety both in species and tactics. The boat and equipment were in top notch shape. I will be going again with Bryant.

My son and I have gone on 8 fishing charters in many different parts of the world and this one was our favorite, because we both liked Captain Wilson. He was very knowledgeable, patient, and considerate. He made sure my son was having the best possible experience for him, checking in with his m regularly about different possible fishing choices. He gave just enough instruction to be helpful but did not over instruct. He was very pleasant and happy to have conversation but also allowed us to sit in silence and enjoy the serenity. I lost track of how many fish my son caught but it was about 10 redfish in the shallows (sight fishing). It was a beautiful and calm water area. Thank you!

All American!!! Can’t explain how unbelievable an experience captain Bryant facilitated! Captain Bryant clearly knows the area and the fishery that only a fisherman with years of experience could which was evident by the amount of redfish we saw in numerous different fishing situations he put me in. We caught many redfish and saw many many more. More importantly for anyone considering using captain Bryant he is just as of more of a humble respectful and gentle person as a human being could be, the kind of person I’d be proud to have as a friend. I highly recommend him as I would to any of my own family members. Job well done captain Bryant!
