I came in to this shop after my girlfriend told me about this place at the last minute right before closing. When I arrived they greeted me immediately and assisted me very well. I didnβt know what I was looking for but they guided me to the perfect fit. Not only were they amazing at putting together pieces and answering my questions Queen was able to tailor my clothing on the spot as I was on a time crunch! I noticed the African attire outside on mannequins.From the time I stepped through the door until the time I left Queen, make me feel as though I was the most beautiful woman in the world. The smiles love and attention took away all the doubts fears and depression away.I had the chance and an opportunity to try on a dress that took even the thoughts of suicide away it was so bright the colors were so beautiful and Queen, made me feel like I was truly truly a queen myself.This store has everything and anything it is perfect when not just colors and designs but accessories pocketbooks anything and everything you can think of even head wraps.Stop by ask for Queen her name really fits her. Stumbled across this place in searching for African Attire to add to my wardrobe. The staff was awesome and patient as I browsed the amazing collection. I had an idea to convert a dashiki into a crop top and once I selected the perfect dashiki, the alteration ended up being complimentary! What a store! We walked in on Sunday and were amazed at the selection. They have a vast array of patterns and styles of womenβs dresses, skirts, jumpsuits, and two-piece outfits. Within seconds, I saw 4 items I wanted to try on. I was so pleased to not only have found the store, but the material felt great, the cut and fit were modern and SUPER CUTE, and the prices were even better. I ended up buying a full length gown and a jumpsuit AND one of the owners did FREE alterations on both so they fit perfectly.Canβt get any better than that, right!

Absolutely horrible! Idk who taught her to sew but it wasnt from an African! My family had to completely rip my dress apart and fix it 3days before my sisters wedding. It was just thrown together! The zipper wasnt lined up so when I tried to straighten the front the zipper and trail would be off to the side.She made it wrong the 1st time and took my fabric so when she had to fix it she didnt have enough fabric to fix her mistake so I had another 6yards and the dress was still a mess. She used the wrong type of lining (it was too heavy for the dress so my aunt had to RIP that out too) the arm strap was all wrong. She had a total of 12yards and she only needed 4 at most yet I only have about 4 yards of fabric back. NEVER AGAIN I will just continue to goto NY to get my dresses made!!

Where do I start? A friend wore the most beautiful head wrap and provided me with the details on where to purchase. I went the same day and was greeted so nicely by the owner. I didnt see anything that I fell in love with but the owner confirmed that a shipment would come in with new items on the next day. I went back the next day and the rest is history! I purchased 3 skirts and two head wraps. One of the skirts needed alterations which she did right then and there. Did I mention the alterations are free?!? She also pressed all skirts prior to me purchasing. I absolutely adore Ms. Queen. Very kind and makes sure you are satisfied with your purchase. I cant thank you enough Ms. Queen! Ladies, go and see for yourself, you wont regret it.

This spot is awesome. I was looking for garments with fringes. They have an on site seamstress and can customize any garment. I bought my daughter a one piece pant suit which she loves. Overall, great spot for African apparel. The best so far.

I cant recall the first time I stepped into Dress Afrika but it was before they were officially open for business. I met the lovely Ms. Queen at that time and she was still unpacking and setting up her shop. She took the time to stop and show me some items she had. I really appreciated her friendly demeanor and customer service. Since then I have been back several times and have made quite a few purchases. I love the clothing! I even had an african print dress that I thought Id completely ruined when I ripped the hem with a heel. Queen was able to fix the dress and add a hem back as well! I will definitely be a repeat customer!
The owner of the shop is the best designer I have met. When you walk in she already knows what will look best on you. I came here with my friends so they could see the clothes and they ended up buying many skirts and dresses. The prices are a little high though, but itβs worth it.π

The owner of this shop is the rudest person Ive ever met in my life. She is very prejudice against Americans even had the audacity to talk about me, in front of me, to other Africans in the shop. This woman was so haughty she wouldnt listen to what I wanted done with my alteration at all instead assuming she knew what I wanted and what is best. There was no type of customer service at all she was more interested in her phone call then her customers. She needs to learn respect and proper business etiquette before shes fit to run a dress shop. I will never return nor can I recommend anyone to that horrible women. She has beautiful work but its not worth putting up with her.
