S bunch of crooks they charged me $643 to replace a $21 dollar transmission line. Dont go there they need investigated

I took my truck there expecting to spend somewhere around $2,000. Instead they found that there was a cheaper solution. They couldve charged me a lot and I wouldve never known. My truck runs great, and they were truly friendly and professional. Theyll be handling all of my future needs.

Horrible. My car sat a whole day. They would not check my transmission because of my check engine light being on. I call in advance and asked was this a total care shop and they said yes. But when they told me they couldnt help then all of the sudden they ONLY DO TRANSMISSION! UT THE SIGN SAYS TOTAL CAR CARE!! 0 STARS FOR MY EXPERIENCE! I had to put 1 star to post this.

Have been going here since 2009 when my husbands 1993 ford explorer transmission went out. Take all transmission issue to them, AAMCO has never did us wrong. Always can trust them to do the work right the first time. We also drove from Lincolnton to bring our 1999 Ford Truck to them as of today leaking gear oil from front differential. They are looking at it now.

This was my first time to this location. I met the business manager. Billy was very professional. I explainEd what I needed. He explained what I would need, possible timeframe, and asked if I had any additional questions. Very thorough, very professional, very informative and very friendly. And punctual on all points. They told me to bring my car at 8 when I did so they could look at it one of the employees told me I have to leave the car for the day.just to top of my fluid. I told him the owner told me to come . The employee said sorry for the misunderstanding after I took time off from work

I am a classic car shop that was in need of a reliable transmission shop to help with over load at times after questioning them on older transmissions ( 1960s) i gave them some work to perform & have been using them over 5 yrs now biggest reason my opinion for this Aamco performance is the same people work there since i meet them with that reliability very hard to come by these days

My car was rolling while in park, I was told the it was a transmission problem and that mechanic recommended Aamco. They agreed it was a part in the transmission and were honest that it might be an easy fix but could involve many hours or labor if the break was further into the transmission. Turned out it was the easy fix. I am not sure all places would not have taken advantage of me being female and my lack of knowledge and said it was more involved than it was. They also got the car back to me earlier than I expected and were nice to deal with.

It started with just an email, that was even a great experience. Michael Cotton was very helpful in setting up my. Appt. These Guys are Great at what they do. They carefully diagnose the problem then explain it to you, so u really understand. Also if they see a need and cant fix it...they will refer you another place that deals with those issues. In wished I’d met Mike and Billy sooner. Other shops told me I needed a transmission. Mike took the time to properly diagnose the vehicle and told me to get my fuel injectors cleaned out.

I did get my transmission rebuilt at AAMCO paid $2532.32 under limited warranty stating 18 months or 18000 miles . I moved to Charlotte and my transmission failed . These AAMCO individual stores are scammers and looks like it’s family operated business . I was still under warranty and the Aamco Charlotte took my vehicle for 11 days and said my warranty is void since it’s one of their claws which says it caused by some external faulty part .Never ever go to such transmission places and pay more for transmission rebuilt I just paid 875$ at local mechanic . Why go to this scammers . Hope this is helpful to someone . I am still fight a case against them . Hope to get back my money . But will not let go of this

I would 100% recommend this place to anyone needing transmission work. I needed a fairly expensive repair on a manual transmission, and while I obviously wish I didnt have to spend it, I was happy to be spending it at this shop. They were friendly and informative throughout the process, and even kept the old parts to show me what had been broken. The pricing seemed fair for the job I got done and my car drives like new again. Thank you Mike and team for adding hopefully years of life back to my Subaru!

Used this company to outsource some work. Giving THEM business and giving them MONEY. To find out that they talk poorly about our business to OUR customer. If your another shop looking to outsource work too, dont use them. They just bad mouth you. Way to conduct business guys!

I took my 05 Explorer in to get a cost estimate. The Manager Mike gave me a realistic expectation to what all would need to be replaced and a time of 2-3 days to rebuild my transmission. I brought it in a week later and my vehicle was ready within 2 days. Really greats guys working there, and they are easy to communicate with and will show you everything that is going on. The amazing service is well worth the cost.

Lets start out by saying I am a car guy who does most of my own work but a transmission is best left to the experts. From the first call I felt comfortable with bringing the car in. Once I dropped off the car they took the time to fully inspect the transmission and other codes the cars computer had generated, then contacted me to walk me through everything they had found. Once I approved the go ahead it only took two days until the car came back fixed and fully operational and they actually require a re-visit within the first 10 days to double check their own work, now thats keeping themselves honest!

Hands down without a doubt the best customer service in the business. My experience with AAMCO Transmission began with an extremely frustrating situation where I found myself thinking I was in for a hefty repair bill. From the start Mike was very consultative and provided details on every option available. He knew my goal was to have my Tahoe repaired and drive for another 200k miles as it’s already done. I came in thinking my transmission was blown, done, finished, and would have to be rebuilt. After evaluating the situation the crew at AAMCO found that there was a minor repair needed and not the total rebuild that I was expecting. They could have said a rebuild and high cost day was needed, but that didn’t occur. AAMCO earned a lifelong customer and referral base today!!!!

I have a scooter and last night someone tried to hotwire it. They tried unscrewing my front cover i guess in hopes to take it. And i seen this riding down the road. I attempted to duck tape it to try to get home. Long story short i pulled in and seen one of the workers bringing in cars inside the shop to work on. They were not open at all yet. I asked the lovely man how much would they charge to put in my 4 screws that cover my wires. Long story short he went above and beyond to help me. He fixed my cover on my scooter and didnt even want a penny for helping me! I cant spell his name but it starts with a H. Today is 8/11/18 and it was round 730 or so. I usually don’t write reviews but feel that it’s important to let people know that this business was absolutely amazing. From the minute I talked to Billy on the phone in until I picked up my vehicle.they we’re informative and honest!I was traveling from Minnesota to Florida in my 2016 Chrysler Town & Country with 117,000 miles on it with a planned stop in Belmont to visit my brother’s family. About 400 miles north of Belmont my check engine light came on. I had the light checked out and the code came up indicating that something was up with the transmission but they didn’t have the equipment to do a thorough diagnose. They thought I would be ok to drive it to Belmont but should definitely get it looked at soon.(The vehicle was running fine and no signs of anything wrong, All gauges were within the normal range)IWhen I arrived in Belmont I took the vehicle to a local Chrysler dealer and they told me I neededa new transmission! The cost was $4,900.00!!!I was shocked and decided to call this place and set up an appointment for the next day.Billy did an excellent job of explaining everything and that hopefully they would be able to fix whatever was wrong with my transmission rather that just replace it and the cost most likely would be less that the quoted price from Chrysler.I received a call later that day from an employee and wasn’t sure what to expect.We’ll to my surprise he told me that when they went to work on the vehicle. The check engine light cleared itself and after running several test and test driving the vehicle there was no indication that anything was wrong with the transmission! Their opinion was that perhaps after driving the vehicle for 10 straight hours that the engine/transmission have have gotten hot enough to cause the check engine light to come on.When I picked up my vehicle they told me that something could still be going on and that given the mileage that it could be just beginning to wear down. When I offered to pay for their time and effort they told me no charge!!!I couldn’t believe it! They probably could of charge me anything less than $4,900.00 and I would of been happy!!So if your looking for a honest, trustworthy transmission business I would strongly recommend this place!!Thanks again.

I want to very much thank Mike and his crew at the AAMCO Transmission shop in Charlotte North Carolina. I broke down and didnt know that much about the area in China Grove, Mike was very helpful with setting up the logistics of getting my truck to the shop by recommending a tow service. Once at the shop they diagnosed the problem ordered the parts got the parts in the next day and had my truck back on the road making so it could make me more money within 24 hours and did it all while staying within the amount that he had told me that would be the estimate. I will surely be using his Services again if my truck were to break down in the Charlotte area with transmission problems again. Once again, thank you Mike and your crew.

Honest. Affordable. They are very approachable. They fixed a problem on my car that the last place I was taking my car to said that isnt a thing and refused to fix it and refused another problem that was under their warranty. I brought it here and they looked at, fixed BOTH problems, and had it done in a few hours. AND was cheaper, nicer, and faster than the first place I took it. These guys are awesome! I will definitely be bringing my cars here again.

I visited this shop to get a second opinion for a transmission seal problem diagnosed by the Toyota dealer. The dealer quoted $2,200. The Aamco techs showed me the seal and pan and there was no evidence of a.problem. I appreciated their honesty and courteous, professional service. I hope I dont need them, but I will be back of I do!

I Took my truck into Aamco for transmission work. Transmission work is never fun to deal with but Billy and Mike made it as painless as possible. They kept me informed throughout the whole process and did a great job on my transmission. Its running great and would recommend them to anyone.

If Mike would have just let Billy and I talk, Id have done business with them. However, after that awkard interaction, Ill find another shop.

Check engine light came on and has since went off however, I still have am the codes on my screen in regards to my automatic transmission in my 2008 Acura TL . After going to the Acura dealership and being told to just replace the transmission..I was recommended to check out this place and I am glad I did. I spoke with Billy and he was super nice. Wished I knew about this place before going to dealership and spending a ridiculous amount on diagnostic testing. I am looking forward to a good experience.

Nice people to work with. I a life time warranty on three of my cars. I have not had any problems since they fix it. One the car is a 1974 Mecury Comet and I have had my life time warranty since 1977.

WARNING: Shop around before you come to this place! Please! If you do not have any aggressive sales experience, do not come to this place!! If youre a person that lacks car knowledge, please bring someone like a mechanic with you!!Its $600 just to take the transmission out and inspect it. Its $700 to put it back in ONLY IF there are no other problems with the transmission. I was quoted $600 the first day. By the second day, they claimed that every little part inside of the transmission needed to be replaced.. So that $700 went up to $1300.

Dropped my car off and thought I was in for a huge bill. Turned out to be nothing and all I had to do was pay a diagnostic fee. Honest car repair shop.

The service I received was well above my expectations. I have only found 2 auto repair shops I would recommend to friends. 1 is in Georgia and the other the AAMCO at 2413 S Tryon street. I have only been in Charlotte for 1yr and really lucked out in finding them. I have a 2005 accord and have had my car there 3 times. I have always walked out feeling I was treated right, that us a rare thing with repair shops.

AAMCO Transmissions of Charlotte has been nothing but professional. Compared to other AAMCOs that Ive been to in the past, their a leader. I had a warranty from 1990 and theyve actually had to overhaul it since then. Theyve always been professional and very quick. Excellent service and Ive already recommended them.

AAMCO Transmissions has always provided wonderful service to my company. Our delivery vans are always serviced impeccably and their customer service consistently exceeds our expectations.

I was on vacation with my family when our Ford minivan gave a transaxle code and began running horribly. We had it towed to Aamco where they checked the codes, then cleared them and began trying to diagnose the problem by seeing if it would code again. It would not for 3 days. They told me there were many reasons including a short or a faulty connector that this may occur. After the third day they said, if I wanted, they would keep it to try make it happen again, or I could pick it up. I decided to pick it up and was NOT charged 1 red cent for their time and trouble. We then finished our vacation and then drove home 650+ miles with no issues or codes. I called to thank them again, and to tell them we had no problems coming home. I appreciate the fact that they seemed to truly care and understand I was on vacation far away from home and I needed our van to leave no later 4 days after they first got to diagnose it.Billy and Mike treated me like family!

I recommend you shop around before you take it to this place. They charge $600 just to take a look at your transmission. Billy called and told me that I had some issues with my transmission. He suggested that he go inside the transmission to take a look. I asked what would be the cost to replace he said about $1400, the next day he calls and says $2300, because all of my parts need replaced. At that point you are stuck because you lose $600. They use refurbished parts and increase the cost on them. The labor cost is ridiculous The car smells like oil after you get back. Do not take it here, shop around.

We were traveling through North Carolina and had car trouble with our Chevy Astro van. We were lucky to get to this S. Tryon Street Aamco. Great work and a reasonable price.

I called and spoke with Mike because we had our vehicle at Cottman Transmission and after 4 days they hadnt started on our vehicle nor called. I spoke with Mike about the $1800 job that was never done and my horrible experience. Mike gave us a price of $1400. I was excited, we paid $55 for the tow to Cottmans and allowed Mike to have the truck towed. Then comes the scam. He called my Husband to ask for permission to do a $700 diagnostic which seemed weird. I already approved $1400 repair. After the price changing to over $2,000 we declined. The next thing we know we are quoted $91 for the tow from Cottman. I called and spoke with the Owner that laughed and talked over me as I tried to explain my frustrating experience. He began to back peddle and lie about quotes & conversations that he was NOT a part of. I alerted him that I will take my experience online. I also advised him to STOP switching up his story as he was being recorded. The liar then got nervous spouting about his rights being violated. I advised him that he violated my time and to have our keys ready in the morning. Thank the Lord I remembered a previous shop that will complete the job for $1,600 flat. RUN do NOT do business here!

Mid to late September they charged me over $2800 for a transmission in a 2000 chevy suburban half ton 4x4. 4 months later and 24,000 miles its completely trashed. Took it to another Aamco and they wont cover any of it. They say it was a 1 year 12,000 mile warranty. Then the Aamco its at now is charging me less than this location and giving me a 3 year, 50,000 mile warranty which is what I thought I paid for last time making it so much money. BEWARE!!! Aamco can make this right. Whether they choose to we will see! Just be careful and check what they say is the same as what is on the paperwork.Just got off the phone with them. I was told I was offered the 3 year 50,000 mile warranty and I declined. Store is contacting Minnesota Aamco. Hopefully this is all made right.So end result.Charlotte, NC Aamco. Transmission $2900 with 12 month 12,000 mile warranty. 24,000 miles later its trash. They call me saying they called the Minnesota location and what failed was a part they didnt replace because they inspected it and didnt need replaced. Not under warranty. No offer to help with costs.Minnesota location Aamco. Transmission $2700($200) cheaper and they give me a 3 year 50,000 mile warranty. Those are the facts do what you want with the information
