We are so thankful that Mellissa Willette of Legacy Lactation and Childbirth Education was available to help my daughter establish breastfeeding as soon as she and her husband brought my grandson home from the hospital. He was too sleepy and jaundiced to nurse at first! Mellissa’s help was invaluable: she helped my daughter build her milk supply by pumping and then quickly helped my grandson learn to nurse directly. Mellissa supported my daughter throughout her breastfeeding experience: giving tips on pumping and working, sleeping and nighttime nursing, and solid food introduction. My grandson weaned himself at 14 months. We celebrated his maturity and called Mellissa to thank her for her wonderful help during our weaning party. If you are pregnant and would like to breastfeed, call Mellissa immediately!

I can’t even begin to explain how helpful my lactation session was with Melissa! I had so many feeding issues with my first child and felt completely lost even after having lactation assistance. I was determined to find more support with my second baby and this is exactly what I found with Melissa! Melissa came to my house and immediately made both myself and newborn feel very comfortable. She was extremely encouraging and thorough and provided so much helpful information in a way I could grasp (even on only 3 hrs of sleep). Melissa helped with my positioning which immediately reduced the pain I was feeling in my breasts. Melissa also helped me trouble shoot how to stay in front of problems. I had so many clogged ducts with my first baby and Melissa helped design a plan to prevent this from happening. I would highly recommend Melissa for first time moms as well as all experienced moms.

I can not say enough good things about Mellissa. Our daughter was eating well, but I needed reassurance and needed help with positioning, latching, and with dealing with the milk let down. In 2 hours at our home, she boosted my confidence, showed me the techniques I needed, and set me up for success. Everyone should be using a lactation consultant and I highly highly recommend using Mellissa!!!

If you are teetering on whether or not to ask for help with breastfeeding stop! Call Melissa now.She came in and quickly assessed my son and I and offered easy to learn techniques for latching and positioning that improved our experience immediately. Melissa is clearly professional and experienced at her vocation. If COVID19 is keeping you from getting support, know she is taking extreme precautions. She wore an N95, washed her hands upon arrival, sanitized her equipment, down to the PEN. She wears fresh scrubs to each client. Ask her about her process if youre nervous. I felt considered and safe with her.We are so grateful to have met and worked with Melissa today. Its clear that her work is her heart and soul. You will not regret having her support.

Melissa did a fantastic job helping my wife with breastfeeding after she gave birth to our 4th child. Even if you have done this before there is a great benefit in getting a refresher course. Melissa is dedicated to educating her clients, and making sure the Mom and baby are breastfeeding effectively! I recommend that you give her a call today!

I would not still be breastfeeding my baby if it weren’t for Mellissa! After a painful couple of weeks, I honestly would have preferred to go through childbirth again than continue trying to breastfeed. I thought I was going to have to give it up! Mellissa came by our house on short notice and we got it all figured out. Do yourself a favor and just set up an appointment for her to come by as soon as you get home from the hospital!

I cant say enough about Mellissa. She is knowledgeable, caring and passionate. She is an engaging and entertaining teacher and her breastfeeding help to me personally was top notch. As a nurse, I have also seen her in the clinical setting ranging from simple support to assisting with complications. Five stars from this mama!

I was part of the mommy group run by Legacy Lactation shortly after my daughter was born. This group was an excellent resource for me and helped me make strong relationships with other moms to support me through that period and beyond. I dont know what I would have done without the late night texts asking each other about how our babies were doing! The group meetings themselves were excellent--each week they would bring in an expert from a different field thats important to new moms so we could get new perspectives--child development specialists, a therapist, pelvic floor therapists and of course Melissas excellent lactation support really made this group awesome. I definitely recommend it for new moms--especially breastfeeding moms!

I had the pleasure of taking Mellissas breast feeding class, labor and birth class, using her lactation services, and joining the new moms group. Shes knowledgeable, kind, experienced, open-minded, and her whole goal is to help however she can. We had a really hard time breastfeeding at first and Mellissa came up with a personalized plan specific to my son and my needs. I was so tired and stressed that I barely remember what we discussed but my husband did and we were able to put her plan into action and with time and effort my baby is now a breastfeeding champ. Im convinced the new moms group is large part of why Im sane now, Ive made some fantastic friends and weve learned so much about how to be moms together. I look forward to recommending all Legacy Lactation services to friends who get pregnant in the future, she really made pregnancy and new momhood a lot less scary.
