I went to the coffee shop in the store, they girls there were very sweet! They make a good very berry hibiscus.

If you all have a backroom or a basement area for the sake of your customers please put MYA in the back of the store where she has no interaction with the consumers that are paying or were going to potentially bring a great deal of revenue to the store. The time we are in there are to many options of where and who we allow to service our needs. Rudeness doesnt need to be tolerated by anyone,esp unprovoked bad attitude rudeness. With attitudes like her I completely see why brick and mortar stores are going under. So I am off to order 49 copies of the book I needed for my book club and we will enjoy at another Starbucks like every other yuppie, thanks MYA

Great selection, clean, friendly staff and a comfortable environment to work in if you need to use their wifi. This store is all could you ask for from a B&N. Enjoy!

This is a local favorite. Its fun to browse through the books and magazines, to have a coffee and do some reading. The wifi is fast. The staff is super helpful and friendly.

Almost everything in Charlottesville is second rate! This B&N is not nearly as nice as the stores in Williamsburg and Richmond. Most every store in town is like this. Go to other places in VA and everything is so much better. Why is this?

Bad selections. Getting ready to go out? Staff is nice but knows littleB&n has been going down . Not like it was 3 or 4 yrs ago. I can no longer depend on getting what I want there.

ABSOLUTELY MY FAVORITE STORE ! I COULD SPEND HOURS IN HERE N I SPENT ALMOST A HUNDRED DOLLARS. I WOULD GO BROKE IF I WENT IN HERE VERY MUCH. THE LIBRARY BETTER HURRY UP AND OPEN BACK UP. I WANT PAY 30 DOLLARS FOR A BOOK. I HAVE TO DRAW THE LINE SOMEWHERE. THE CLERK HOWEVER WAS RUDE N HE WAS A MAN N WALKED OFF N DIDNT HELP ME. I like shopping at this B&N because the store in my local area is too hot to browse and shop comfortably. This store has a better temperature. The staff at this store are always professional and very helpful. I often have questions about specific books or about where to find a book. They will make sure to give you the assistance you need and with sincere smiles, too! I usually buy my books and if I get a cookie coupon, I will buy my yummy cookies before leaving.

Always have been pleased with this Barnes & Noble location. Noticed on 7/31/2020 they had rearranged the store slightly which caught me off guard. But they always have a great selection and very full stock. For the most part staff is friendly and helpful.

I love a bookstore, all types! The staff is always helpful and friendly. They are open late which is great in this city that rolls up at 9 PM! The coffee shop is inconsistent in product and service. Still a great place to immerse yourself in new and classic books, media, and fun related surprises.

Clean, socially distant, not as good selection or prices as Amazon, but you knew that already. Its nice to touch a book and thumb through it before purchasing it, but the price issue... If you can afford to support brick and mortar, do so. For the rest of us, price is everything, and B&N fails there.

Great book selection. I walked around most of the store. I checked out the childrens books the most. I looked at the non-book items too like the cards, card games, board games, figurines, etc. Everything in the store was organized. When I got there they were even having one of the story times with kids.They have a cafe in here too. If I had anything that I didnt care for it would of been there were not random places around the store to sit. This was not the biggest Barnes and Noble I have been into though. I went into one a few years ago and they had several chairs, over-sized ones too and they were super comfy to just hang out and chill. l love being in a bookstore so that would of been nice for this one.

I’m sure anyone knows what to expect at a Barnes and Noble. A good selection of books and a Starbucks, plus lots of gift items. It’s always hard to find help or to search for books, so unless you know exactly what you want and where it is (or are OK with just aimless browsing) you’ll be fine, but it would be nice to have a few more knowledgeable employees to help you find boom suggestions.

Knowledgeable staff and check out always moves quickly. One star taken away due to the physical condition of some books- which look like they’ve been read and returned. Or damaged in transit. FYI if you’re gentle enough with a book you can return it within 30 days if unhappy.

Love Olin, and whatever crew he works with seem to have his beautiful personality. He is accommodating, but he also informed us of coming changes, recognizing that we are regulars at b&n. He is helpful, kind, and we just love hanging out at this b&n, especially when Olin is there! Great drinks, we ate lunch. . . Great food! Never rush you out. . . Eat, drink, read and relax!!! Your amongst friends!

Friendly and very helpful staff members. They are organized, and have nice environment, especially with Starbucks being there. Definitely a good place to do some work.

My safe place. I love the cafe and working there. The staff are super friendly and helpful. One of my favorite places to work. Like the ambiance and the crowd. The only problem with cafe is lack of electric outlets. Hope this will be addressed.

Starbucks, at Barnes and Noble is a fun place for me to visit. I enjoy the variety of coffee drinks that are available and I also like a few of the things available to go with them such as the Rustic Apple Tart. The atmosphere is comfortable and it is a good place to read a few pages of a book to see if I want to purchase it or flip through a magazine I am considering. I love reading so this really is one of my favorite places

The only way to buy books, in the store. A place where you can feel and smell the knowledge, adventure, and creativity. The staff are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. They also have regular little events that are great for all ages. A plus is the coffee and munchies they have available.

This is not about the store or books, I like the store, I go there periodically, I get coffee, I sometimes buy books. What bothered me was that I applied for a specific position at Barnes and Noble and the manager there decided that I would be a better fit for another position. I believe that was presumptuous of her to do that. I wanted the other job but when I had her on the phone, I did say that I applied for another job but I didnt have the guts to say, er.....,you had no right to decide what I can or cannot apply for, so now, I am telling you that. This is my livelihood we are talking about, I was not crazy about the job you offered me and I am pretty sure you were not going to hire me for it anyway from your conversation, woman, now I dont even get a chance to apply for the other job the way you gently said goodbye to me.

I love this store! Recently, I was trying to find some books for my children, who are into young adult fiction, but I was having trouble finding the books (I was in the wrong section). A very helpful employee took me straight to it. She was very kind. This is the type of behavior I always witness there.I also love that they do the birthday club for my children. Barnes and Noble has been a big part of their love for reading.

Its great, yet Id like to see more books from certain authors which I read frequently.That said, Ive not explored a lot of other areas of the store, but the science and technology sections have lots that interest me at face value.

Such a throwback to the olden days. I have to admit I have gone almost completely Kindle (never tried a Nook) but my daughter loves real books and we bring her here all the time. It will be a shame if B&N does not survive.

Went to this store to spend some Christmas gift cards because I love books! Found a great selection of military history books and I started my pile, I then started looking for new titles along the wall, looking for something new about World War II, when an elderly lady almost pushed me over with a push cart. I assumed she was an employee. i got out of her way, and thought nothing of it. Then I noticed she kept getting close in my personal space to adjust books i was l considering. She was rude, and never said excuse me as she barged in front of me....Weird and uncomfortable feeling...She probably thought I was a Nazi because I had on a camouflaged ball cap with a VMI Army ROTC logo on it. I guess that was her pathetic attempt to show her passive-aggressive distaste for a college educated veteran who loves history. Whatever!!On the other end of the spectrum was the gentleman at the checkout counter. Thanks for your professionalism and courtesy; you saved B & N the loss of a loyal customer!! Good on you!!

I love Barnes and Noble, but last night, I was really put off by this bald guy who made the announcement that they were closing. He came on the loud speaker rushing everyone to get out of the store and ended it by it saying, And remember, we love you. Was extremely creepy and weird. Definitely not going back anytime soon.

Was looking for David No book series had trouble finding them. The man at the counter was very helpful. Shame all they carry is the hard cover. Not exactly what you want to give to a beginner reader a little costly.
