First time was very good and tasty. Very good choice of desert and really delicious. Reasonable price.

How does this place get such a high rating?? The food was DISGUSTING! DO NOT eat the crab cakes. Funny taste with hunks of celery and green peppers maybe, who knows.The cocktail sauce tasted like a can. The Mac and cheese was no better than a frozen Mac and cheese. Just straight up disgusting, waste of $16

This a great place to eat. They have a large selection of food to choose from that is affordable. The portions are huge so you wont leave there hungry. Everything is homemade. The staff is great and a family friendly environment. It was very helpful that they made sure my kids food came out quickly to keep them occupied and it gave me the opportunity to be able to enjoy my food as well. Personally my favorites there are the soups. Havent had one yet I didnt like. And the fruit cups are always fresh and yummy. I wish I knew where they get there produce from because its always good. Love love love this place. I highly recommend going. 👍👍

Doodles Diner is the Best Diner in Charlottesville. The service you get from Kim (the server) is excellent and cant be matched by anyone in the area.You want a BLT sandwich then get it here, it is fantastic and huge.They have Soecials Every Day so go on Thursday if you love Chicken Fried Steak or Friday for a Huge fish dinner.She does soups, chicken and dumplings,and chowders and chili.My favorite is Chicken and Dumplings, good ole country cooking.Now you got to watch out for some of those regulars like Uncle Bob who thinks he owns one of the booths and gets upset if you set in his favorite spot but dont worry Kim will take care of him for you.If you are really hungry get a Doodles Cheese burger, you have to cut it in half to hold on to it, its Big !If I could I would eat here Everyday but I do get to go about twice a week and have never had a bad meal !

Food was delicious! We ordered chocolate chip pancakes, eggs, bacon, home fries, and english muffin. Food came quick and service was great! We were there on a Sunday morning around 11am and got a table immediately. Will be visiting again when we are in Charlottesville.

Doodles Diner is a great, friendly diner with honest, tasty food! The service is genuinely friendly and the atmosphere takes you back to the days of true service. They are happy to accommodate groups! I had a bacon cheese burger and a huge mess of their delicious sweet potato fries! Yummy! If you are looking for real food prepared by real people who care about good food, this is the place to go!

Best breakfast Ive had in a long time. My daughter just had a fruit bowl but it was filled with cherries grapes, and melons. Just perfect

Who knew? Not me, totally happened on this place on accident. Has been nearly empty every time Ive been. Very quaint southern hospitality rural style diner in a random brick plaza where I usually am just tying to get from somewhere else to another somewhere else. The food is delicious. The grits are made with cream instead of water. The eggs are yellow. Like really yellow. The waitress apologized for how yellow they were and felt the need to explain that they were just organic and that it was normal for them to look like that. I had not complained, but was surprised and delighted by the local organic philosophy of this little, what I might call a dive diner. Get the biscuits.

Doodles is an old-fashioned diner in every way. Generous portions of good food with really friendly staff. The eggs are often fresh farm eggs and the fruit for the fruit bowl exceptionally fresh and perfectly ripe. Breakfasts are what I know, but often one of my friends gets the lunch spe I am when we come later in the morning on Sunday. This past Sunday (Mothers day) they had an amazingly fresh and delicious crab and asparagus quiche. Oh, and did I say anything about the delicious coffee (really) and the fast service, should you want it .. be a use sometimes we just want to hang out a d chat and drink coffee after we eat. But when we are in a hurry, they can get us out fed and out of there pronto. I recommend it highly. Good, good people.

Doodles is a great place for any meal. They have great service, the food is good and is served in a timely manner. I highly recommend this diner.

Stopped for breakfast. Its your normal hole in the wall breakfast place. Decent food (porkloin and pancakes were great) and a nice staff. Definitely will go back and try it again.

We found Doodles to be an amazing find in Charlottesville. Located on the 250 bypass (beside the car wash with the huge American Flag). The food was well prepared, served promptly by a quick and thoughtful wait staff. A small town diner you should not overlook. They have a great menu be sure to leave room for one of their wonderful deserts. Very family friendly. Were going back and telling our friends and family. Thank you Doodles for a great meal and a wonderful evening.

I like the food at Doodles Diner, it is tasty and affordable.I like the service. Every time I come here, it is the same waitress working by herself, Mary Lynn; she always friendly and helpful and brings the food out fast. Please hire some more people to help her out, she is a hard worker and I feel like she does the work of multiple people.Edit: I recall at least one occasion where I saw Mary Lynn working with another waitress, to be fair.

The food was fine, not great, maybe not worth the price (which as a little high for a diner) but fine. We walked in at 1PM for lunch. Doodles was maybe 40% full. We place our orders immediately and received our drinks in a couple of minutes. And then we waited an hour and ten minutes for our food to come. it wasnt just us. All the tables had the same problem. We just stared at each other in disbelief. One table got up and walked out after waiting an hour. I wanted to do the same, but we were all starving and since we were from out of town, we didnt know where else to go. Not sure what was up. There were at least five people working and there couldnt have been for than ten tables full.
