Best thai Ive had since coming back to mainland USA. Expensive but good portions and flavor
Best Thai spot around here take it from a 100% Thai guy hands down
I love Jasmine Thai. I stumbled across this restaurant in 2014 with a friend and ever since then I can not find a Thai restaurant that taste as good. I was stationed in VA and now live in NC, but when ever I go to visit I stop in and get the pad see ew. The ingredients are always fresh and the staff is always pleasant. If you get a chance you should give it a try. Its definitely a good choice for lunch or dinner.
Very professional, friendly, and prompt staff, serving great food, I liked it!
Food is amazing. Be careful of the spice levels, always start with a 1 out of 5 then move up from there. I like spicy food but a 2/5 is about the equivalent of the upper end of hot wing spiciness at a wing joint.
I purchased the whole fish came home had the fresh spring rolls was great. I then started to eat the fish and it was over done as well as it tasted awful it was not pleasant at all. I have eaten there 3 time and enjoy the food but I dont understand if the food isnt right why sever it? I wont be eating there again sorry that how bad it was.
I order my Pad Thai a 2 out of a 5 for spicy which to me is a medium spicy. I cant even taste and enjoy the food because its crazy spicy. This is a problem that needs to be fixed.
Customer service is awful, they do not treat their customers right. I ordered a hot level 2 out of 5 and it was too hot to the point where I was hiccuping. I like spicy too, but this was not edible. They made us another plate but still charged us for the first rice even though we did not eat the food. We will not be returning.
Food was good however customer service not so much. After paying $20.00 for lunch I was told that sauce was $1.00 extra, $2.00 if paying by card. The women at the counter said the owner’s rules - no exceptions. After spending $20.00 on lunch (and leaving a generous tip for take out) the condiments should be complimentary. We will not be going back, plenty of other places that will be happy to take my money and not try to gouge me over something that should be included with the price of the meal.
The food is phenomenal... Everythings fresh cooked to order restaurant is clean... Prices are great.. the younger lady that works in there is not friendly she look at you instead of asking may I help you.. she has a snobbish attitude.. if it wasnt for the owner I wouldnt come in there... And every time Im in there I spend 50 to $60.. but she needs to be more friendlier... The owner is the reasons why I continue on going there
Great place, the food is fresh and the staff is friendly. They serve high quality food at competitive prices. Go to Jasmine Thai Cuisine and you are in for a treat.
Been going to this place for thw 5 years Ive been here. Awesome family owned resturant. Its basically grandma and mom cooking home cooked meals for every order. My go to order is their pad thai.
* Editing to add that we still love this place after two years! We went to Thailand several months ago and havent wanted to have thai food again until we found an authentic place, this place definitely nails it. They were highly recommended to us.The pad thai is perfect. The noodles were just right, super fresh sprouts and roasted peanuts and lime, and I love the more hoisin based sauce. We also got the potato/ pineapple yellow curry with chicken and it is also delicious. My husband said its the most authentic thai hes had in the states. It was hard to stop ourselves once we were super full, but we still have good sized lunches from leftovers, too.
Average Thai food. Pad see eaw didnt have much taste, very plain. Ive had better but would go here in a pinch.
Not normally one to leave bad reviews, I recommended this to a friend since its close and used to be pretty solid, they forgot part of the order then double charged him for a thai tea and the food was way more bland than it used to be. Got the green curry extra spicy and there wasnt a whole lot of flavor or spice. Really disappointed
Curry was on point. I didnt like the fact that the drunken noodles was $3 extra for meat but flavor profile was there.
Argued with the owner over a situation and was ignored and not even acknowledged. Really bad customer service.
Worst customer service I ever experienced in a restaurant! If I could have given it 0 stars, I would have!!
Overall just okay.(+) Attentive and polite waitstaff. Very clean. Affordable.(+/-) Food was just okay, but not great, and didnt seem authentic. (I have travelled across Thailand.)(-) Zero ambiance.
Worse service ever. Gave me the wrong order and I dont even eat that. Will never return
Fried Rice and Pad Thai are very tasty. Service is great.
Best Thai in the area! If you want REAL Thai spice, you’ll get it here!
A best kept secret kind of place. It helps that this is an award winning restaurant. My wife and I have been here a number of times since they opened and have NEVER left disappointed. Look--if you want fancy, go somewhere else. If you want delicious, authentic, moderately priced, made to order, soul-satisfying Thai food, come here. You, too, wont be disappointed.
Hot, fresh made to order. Enjoyed spring rolls and chicken pad thai. Delicious, watch out for spice levels. I enjoy spiciness but my regular 2 out of 5, here I would do 1. Still delicious, just a personal preference. Staff was quick and efficient, wait time minimal.
Love the egg rolls with that amazing sauce.
One of my favorite Thai places. I love all the flavors in everything I have tried here. The ladies are always friendly and offer great service. My husband loves really spicy food and they did not disappoint. I eat here every time my job brings me to the area.
The owner is rude, instead of making a situation right, they decide to ignore you and charge you for food they shouldnt charge you for. Asked for a little bit of spice but instead they made it inedible. Will not be returning.
Phad Thai is amazing here
I was next door and tried to place a to-go order over the phone. The phone rang and rang, so I went over to place an order in person. I stood at the counter and waited for the front of house person to take my order. Meanwhile, I make eye contact with the lady cooking in the back and we exchanged smiles a couple of times. I’m still waiting for my order to be taken when a gentleman comes through the door wanting to dine-in. He is seated and his order was taken before I’ve even been acknowledged. I finally, decide just to speak up and tell the woman my order. She still doesn’t make eye contact, then tells me, “ That’ll be 30 minutes, maybe sooner, maybe later.” I got the vibe that my business was not wanted, even though they were slow for it being a lunch hour. So, I told them to never mind and they have permanently lost my business. I was excited to try this place as it had such good reviews and a high rating. Too bad my first time trying to order was met with such rudeness and disdain for my business. I will never give my money to people who treat me rudely inside of their business.
The food is delicious. When they say the food is spicy, it is spicy. I got 4 star because I was warned that they are spicier than other places. Next time I will go with 2 stars, even though the food was still really. The fried spring rolls are really good. The place is really clean and the staff is friendly.
The food is so fresh and cooked right in front of you if you sit at bar top. The service was excellent. Small restaurant but so worth the drive. Will definitely be my go to for Thai food.
A little different from the Thai Im used to be very good
Customer service should be better.
10/10 BEST Thai food I have ever eaten! I will never stop eating here. I take everyone here that visits from out-of-town. They make things spicy if you ask for it, just be careful! Its not like a buffalo wing kind of spice.
I love getting take out from here. The PAD KAPAU is amazing! I love the Thai basil flavor. I love spicy food, but be warned 5 star Thai spicy is legitimately spicy... It was almost too much for me to eat, almost... Ive found that 4 star spicy is perfect. Eating in? I wish they had a better beverage selection, but the food is worth it, and the ladies are always super nice and helpful. Overall, its on my top two favorite Thai food restaurants.
Clean and organized. To-go curry orders are extremely hard to eat without having your own set of dishes to use due to the fact that the rice comes in an extremely small box.
I absolutely love this place. The love in the food is very obvious. Small cozy, family run. Food is great, great portions, and I love spicy,. they always remind you to be sure so tell them if its your first time ;) I come here very often.. Love the steam banna dessert!! Yummy warm or cold..
This is my first review of any restaurant. 1. Service- nice staff but took an extended period of time to get our food, with not many other customers. Ordered simple dishes: fried rice and seafood soup. 2. After waiting a long while again for the check, finally just paid at the counter. 3. The main reason for 1 star is because me and the wife both got sick 30 minutes after leaving this restaurant. We both ate the fried rice and soup so am not sure if it was because of a bad ingredient or unclean cooking conditions. 4. I eat a lot of Thai food. This food was not tasty. We ate it because just finished a hike and were starving. 5. The people that work here are Lao, not Thai.....the waitress told us so herself.
Great portions delicious food cooked in front of you
I have been craving Tom yum soup for weeks. So this little place was just what I needed. The soup was super delicious!! Also the ladies where so friendly I dined in late and they where so polite no one rushed me out the door!!
This is my first ever review on Google, but I figured this place was worth reviewing! Its not by any means the fanciest place, but its among the best Thai food Ive ever had. Tastes authentic, and great portions. Keep in mind its a small place, so sometimes they run a little behind on orders when it gets busy. Definitely has a bit of a hole in the wall feel, but those nice Thai ladies will make you some good food- especially if youre NICE to them, it will feel like youre getting food from the Thai grandma you never had.
This is a very awesome place to eat not only does it have wonderful food for the family that runs the place are wonderful people. Their Pad Thai is on point! I watched a little old lady and roll all the spring rolls. Definitely recommend this place. You dont get that kind of service anywhere.
One of my favorite restaurants. Ive eaten here countless times as its quite close to my house. Moderately priced but absolutely fantastic Thai food. Word of warning: their spicy rating system is to be taken seriously
My experience at Jasmine Thai Cuisine was one of the most authentic Thai restaurants Ive ever been to! The cuisine was absolutely amazing and the people were beyond great! Jasmine Thai Cuisine definitely made my top three Thai restaurants! I encourage EVERYONE to go try it!! and while youre there ask if the owner is there, shes great!
The food was great prices are quite reasonable. The restaurant decor is very dated. The wait staff is quite attentive and ask a lot of questions to Makesure you are comfortable.
Ladies at the front are strictly business, but they make some quality Thai food! Our go to is the Pad Thai and the spring rolls. I spent several months in Thailand and this spot hits my cravings for authenticity perfectly!
Family friendly atmosphere and very good service! Ordered Masman...8 out of 10 spice level was 10 out of 10 delicious level.
Best Thai food I have had in the local area. Wonderful friendly service. Food is cooked to order, spicy and flavorful. 10 our 10 would recommend!
Food was pretty good. My chicken fried rice was a little more browned or burnt than I like, but not inedible. My friend hated the coconut milk soup but I think it was more of a preference thing. But the owner argued with us about taking the coconut soup off the ticket for over 10 mins. Only to eventually take it off. Bad customer service, but pretty good food. Might try again...
The food here is made fresh and it taste absolutely delicious! I can only handle a half star spice and they get it perfect every time!
Pad thai here is AMAZING!!! Cooked fresh and not dry! Beware of their spice levels! A 3* is about all I can handle! Definitely recommend!
The food is so good. I visit quite often and have yet to be disappointed. Customer service is excellent. I recommend #2-Jasmine spring rolls, #17, #33, and the thai iced tea!!
Love this place, so tasty AND they give you a small spring roll with every order! I did get a wicked stomach ache when I got the panang curry with chicken, but it could have been it was too rich (fatty) for my stomach. It wont stop me from trying other food, I think this small, clean little space is way better than ones Ive tried in Norfolk lately.
I love this place for Thai food. The server and cooks are very friendly. They are always smiling and make you feel at home. I highly recommend this place for a great lunch or dinner.
Spice was great. Flavor was great. Only comaint was they didnt have Pad Woon Sen noodles on the menu.
Quick service. Food was good, no spice added so make sure to ask if you like it spicy. Environment was cozy, and welcoming.
I dont eat much Thai food, only when I visit LA or NYC.... I love Thai though. This place was just not as savory and good as other Thai food Ive had. The food is extremely hot. It took me 20 mins to get home and still was burning hot.
Food was made with love, lunch portion was huge and they have a dinner portion. Definitely worth the trip.
I order the same thing here every time and get 2 extra dishes for leftovers. If you order to go, you get free dishwasher/ microwave safe, stackable tupperware. We have a pile of these now! I love the fried rice, and wife loves the curry. Prices are moderate for takeout.
Best Thai place in Chesapeake! They are double spicy so be careful! So good though!
The staff is very inviting. The food is the best Thai Ive ever had. I visit several times a month.
I was craving pho for lunch and read the reviews for this place, which seemed to be pretty decent. I called my order in, which was just soup, and still waited 25 minutes for it to be done. Right when the cashier swiped my card, I stood at the counter and watched the woman cooking my soup stir it, taste it with a spoon, then use the same spoon to stir it with again. I was totally disgusted. I immediately told the cashier and got my money back. It might be good, but I would never want someones used spoon in my food.
The Ladies here are wonderful!! From the moment we walked in the door they greeted my family and I with warm smiles and heartfelt conversation. It immediately had the feel of an old town small diner you grow up eating at. The environment welcomes all attire from tradional Thai to dress down summer shorts and T-shirt. The staff seems happy with what they do and this is priceless when sharing a meal with your family. Also the food is just as good if not better than the other much further locations in Virginia Beach where the prices are much higher because of the big expensive restaurant and pricey location. This is my first of MANY visits in the future !!
Keep coming back to try different items on the menu, Always very good food
The ladies that run and cook the food here are cordial and are experts at what they do. They are hesitant to spice your food, afraid that thecasual eater will ask for too much spice. So be aware that you might want to ask for some spice in the side.
This food is sooooo good. And the staff are wonderful. I will definitely be here again.
Definitely the best thai food in hampton roads hands down. This place is a gem!
This is the best thai restaurant in the area. It is casual, the food is cooked right in front of you and it is super fresh. The chef is very knowledgeable of the flavors and can help you decide what to get.
This is the kind of food we got. These are crab rangoons that are underfilled and over cooked x 3. I tried to call the restaurant to make things right and spoke to the person who answered the phone and the manager and the manager was surprisingly rude considering I just wanted them to make things right. Do not order from here as we never will again.
Best thai spot in the 757 hands down
Nice lunch. Not flashy, but good food
Great food and friendly people. The dish I got had a sweet flavor and portion size just perfect.
The best Thai place in town. I love you
The cook was an old woman that was hacking up a lung. It was disgusting,NEVER covering her mouth or washing her hands.I can’t believe the reviews are so good. Plus the woman working the register is a nasty attitude person.
Good food. Horrible service. Took 10 min to get water... and the place was empty. Server finally arrived and brought more attitude than than my 7 year old. Massaman curry and Panang curry were good. But at lunchtime they only offer those as dinner meals when you order w tofu. Why would you serve the same dishes with chx, shrimp, beef, etc as lunch or dinner portion, but if you get tofu you have to get a dinner size? Will say the food came very hot. Hope server has a better day tomorrow and is less confrontational w subsequent customers.
Great Thai food. Service could be better.
Masman curry was so flavorful! Exceptional sticky rice!
Simple setting, but really good food. If your a thai food fan this place is definitely a a win. Family owned and run.
My wife and I havent had thai food this good since we were in Thailand last year! Enough said
Really good great place to try something new
My chicken pad Thai was incredibly bland. No flavor at all. Recommend the Thai place on Granby in Norfolk over this place any day.
Awesome food and great service!
UPDATE: we have not been here in a year. We were in the area and there was not much else for thai food in the area. So we decided to come in and try them again. YES! They got it right! Ordered the panang Curry, it was perfect. We also had the beef salad, although not spicy, it was done well. I changed the stars to 4. I thank you and my palate thanks you!Thai is our favorite food and we have tried countless Thai restaurants. This and the one in Ft. Lauderdale are by far the worst. We ordered Tom Yum Goong soup and pad Thai The soup was terrible. It barely had any spice to it. It was almost like slurping water. Flavor profile is off. The Pad Thai was mediocre at best. Again, not enough spice. They did not ask us how spicy we wanted it. I felt like the cook may not be Thai.
Not fancy looking from the outside, but very clean and the waitress was super friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious!
The pad Thai here is sooooo spicy, and it is not marked as a spicy dish on the menu
Delicious Chicken Pd Thai. if you dont want it spicy tell them no spice. I liked it level 2.
Real tasty and seasoned food and you get a LOT of food!
The food was excellent the service was very friendly and they made me feel welcome. I will certainly be back again
I absolutely love this place, the food is amazing as well as their customer service!
