The Bagels are fantastic but the service is slow. You need to order at a window and wait outside even though there is indoor space. I dont know how many times i can stand in the cold for 20 min waiting for a bagel and coffee. Please fix this! I love the bagels and would love a better experience.

3.5 - Crispy bagels that are pretty solid. Got mine on a sandwich which was very pricey. $9 for a bacon egg and cheese bagel is a stretch. Next time I go it will be for a bagel and cream cheese
The tofu spread has a bizarre flavor and chives in it-do not recommend. Our bagels were very dark and we ended up tossing the breakfast after a few forced bites.Very disappointed.

Burned, hard, tasteless bread shaped like bagels for ridiculously high prices. $18 for 6 “bagels” and one tub of oily tasteless schmear. Whatever happened to the bagels the way they once were? They don’t pick up the phone. Horrible. Avoid.
The food is good. But they inexplicably refuse to allow order ahead, which makes for a terrible customer experience unless you have half an hour to kill.
Great in and out bagel and morning coffee shop. Bagel of the months, collabs with local restaurants (check out the atomic bagel with Hot Dougs sausage) and cheese spreads. It takes some time but they are made with care. There isnt much seating but this place is not meant to order and eat there. Have those expectations if planning to eat in.

Don’t get me wrong the bagels are great but this place never seems to be able to run efficiently. With Covid they’ve stopped taking phone orders to pick up, so I either have to order through DoorDash and pay the fees or wait in line with people all over the sidewalk through their slow process.They need to figure out a better solution than having people line the sidewalk and wait 30+ minutes to grab a bagel.

The everything bagel should be called the salty bagel. To much salt in today’s batch. Everything else was lovely, but all I tasted was salt for 50% of my bites
My wife and I arrived at 11am on a Sunday; the place was not very busy. We waited 15 minutes for 2 subpar bagel sandwiches despite there being at least half a dozen workers arranged in an assembly line.The bagels were not fresh, even though this was peak time on a Sunday. My lox sandwich had a pathetically small amount of lox (picture added), unripe tomatoes even though it is prime season, and fell apart after one bite because it was poorly constructed, being overstuffed with bland vegetables. The cream cheese was not spread evenly, and was pretty cold and stale.The worker who took our order did not offer us the option of toasting our bagels. 5 minutes after ordering, my wife asked if the bagels could be toasted, and they told us it was too late. We figured that meant our sandwiches were almost ready, but we waited 10 more minutes, so clearly they hadnt even started our order. Toasting and/or fresher, warmer bagels couldve helped the stale cream cheese situation immensely.The layout of the store also speaks to how poorly managed this operation is: you walk to the back to order, they give you a receipt, you walk to the front and pay, and then you wait, all the while bumping into other patrons coming in and out of the store. I think the idea is that you order at the back, and by the time youve paid at the front, your order has gone through the assembly line and its ready - their execution is not (yet) at that level. The manager needs to step in.For a city that loves food, Chicago does bagels and bagel-operations very poorly. A business-minded person could visit one of dozens of smaller operations in New York and take a cue.
The minimum number of bagels you buy is 6. Not everyone wants to buy 6 bagels….

Amazing! My husband and I have walked past this place a few times so we finally stopped by for breakfast sandwiches and WOW! The seasoning on the everything bagel was ahhh-mazing. We got cheddar, bacon and egg bagel, highly recommend. The line was around 5-6 people so we thought it might be awhile but they were super quick, so don’t let the line scare you away! Maybe took 5 minutes!
My interaction here brought real questions to my mind about race and culture.Many of us think of restaurants as places that bring people together for an activity that is universally human: eating – and they can be. But this restaurant definitely made me feel that it was an exclusionary space. Plus the sandwich wasnt as good as I had read.

Nice staff, delicious bagels. Being from the east coast, I have pretty high standards for bagels. These are some of my favorites. They have delicious and unique sandwiches for them too. House made and did I mention delicious!?

My coworker used to work here and brought some bagels to the office. After trying one I knew I had to stop by myself! The bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich was satisfying and delicious! The pizza bagel as well! Cant wait to try out the other sandwiches.

Great bagels, good coffee. Basically no space to sit, so dont expect that. They do bagel sandwiches that could make a hearty lunch, or more standard bagel + cream cheese. They partner with Piece Pizza next door for some interesting combos.
The bagels are pretty good and they give you tons of food. I will say they are not efficient. I’m standing here waiting 30 minutes after ordering for a bacon, egg and cheese bagel. It’s not worth how slow they are.
Often they are better but this place is inconsistent! Sometime I barely get any cream cheese, some times they take forever. Today 1/2 the bagel is super small and they didnt cut the bagel. When its good its a 4, but the inconsistency makes it so I go months at a time without going.
Brobagel is one of the best ways to start a Sunday morning, and I highly recommend showing up before the rush begins. It gets packed quickly, but for a good reason. Obviously, the bagels are all great. The spreads are all delicious and unique, but my absolute favorite is caramelized onion. If youre more inclined towards a hot breakfast, there are plenty of bagel sandwich options.

Great bagels, almost always and solid bagel sandwiches usually. Super super slow service, lines are long and pick up wait is far longer. And if you think you can call ahead, prepare to be put on infinite hold. The phone down move when I can hear them taking order after order is frustrating. On rare occasions when I get through by phone 50/50 the order is wrong. Hope they can figure out the quick pickup option because that’s all that’s keeping this place from being the perfect neighborhood bagel spot!
Great bagels but lacks the consistency in service to take it to the next level. Too often the line is too big or they mess up your order slightly.Just need better service.
Not a lot of places to get a good bagel in Chicago but this is one of them. They have a good selection and a bunch of interesting cream cheeses including Sriracha flavored. Like all bagel places to most recently cooked ones are going to be the best. If you have to wait a few minutes to get fresh ones out of the oven it will be worth it.

Wide selection of delicious bagels and spreads, including peanut butter if thats your jam. The bagels arent as good as what youd find in NYC, but theyre pretty darn good for Chicago! They serve Metropolis Coffee (yum).

Crispy on the outside and nice and dense inside—best bagels I’ve had in Chicago!Try their pizza bagel (they use sauce from Piece Pizzeria next door) and be sure to check out their specialty bagels and house-made cream cheese spreads.Only downside is that the staff sometimes get overwhelmed or confused during the heaviest rushes here. Expect a bit of a wait when it’s busy.
About a week ago, I drove 25 minutes to pick up a dozen bagels for work. 4 of the 12 were so old and hard we could not cut them open. I will never do this again. Make sure to ask what bagels are fresh that day. Getting them to answer the phone is also hard never picked up.
Awesome bagels. Bagel sandwiches are great, but simple bagel and cream cheese is excellent. Pro tip: if you get a bag of their bro bagel metropolis coffee, you get a free coffee at check out.

I am so surprised this place only has 4 stars because I thought it was awesome. Delicious bagels with tons of options for toppings/sandwiches. I was just visiting Chicago, but would be a regular if I lived in the area. The name did kind of make me wonder if only bro’s eat here...makes it much better that it seemed that it’s referring to actual brothers. No one wants to hang with a bunch of bro’s.

First time in Brobagel yesterday on a Monday and I would say it’s a cozy Great grab and go place, The Cuban is a must try so delicious. Pretty busy, but i got my food quick.

I ordered a toasted bagel with cream cheese. Received a cold untoasted bagel with the wrong type of cream cheese. Sandwich also served on cold, hard, untoasted bagel. Coffee is decent so the only reason for the 2nd star.
The bagels are the best I ever had. They have smears you can put on. They also have different options for sandwiches they make with the bagels. Not a sit down place to eat there. Open at 630am on Sundays.
I have been here twice and the sandwiches I had were bland and underwhelming. The first time I got the lox sandwich on a poppy seed bagel. The sandwich felt like it needed more salt or a sour ingredient like capers or pickled onions to bring out the flavor. The second time I got a whitefish salad sandwich on a pumpernickel bagel, and the whitefish salad had no flavor whatsoever. The bagels themselves had a good texture, but seemed undersalted. All in all I cannot recommend this place.
Bagels here are decently good.... but man the service is brutally slow. 25 mins plus for 2 bagels. Maybe people are ordering online and picking up? It doesn’t make any sense. Seems like there is enough staff, and generally they are pretty nice. But waiting 25 mins for your egg and cheese bagel not even to be warm? Plenty of other options IMHO. They do have a small space but it is a really long wait for mediocre food. Read lots of other reviews that have said the same. I’m moving on....

Great fresh bagels. Had a breakfast bagel and although I found the bagel to be a bit too chewy for my taste (I prefer Montreal-style bagels) I can appreciate what they are doing and enjoyed the quick meal. The space is almost entirely take-out.

It’s the small things that can make an experience great or frustrating. The service here was slow, and the staff didn’t seem particularity inclined to be helpful. My bagel was so messy, I think I got more avocado all over my hand than was actually in the bagel just by getting it out of the bag. That being said, the bagel was delicious.
This place is perfect for bagels on the go. Wide menu selection, choose the bagel of your choice and fillings and off you go. Very tasty. Would recommend for a quick bite to eat.

Waited in line only to be told that it would be another 25 minute wait for a bagel with cream cheese. Um what?!? It does not take 25 minutes to put a bagel in a toaster. Left, went to another place, ordered and finished breakfast in the same amount of time I would have been waiting.

Great bagels but I have never been to a place that more consistently messes up orders. As in 8 if the past 10 visits there is something wrong with a basic order (no cream cheese on bagel, not toasted).
The bagels taste good but the service and attitude from the two girls behind the counter this morning was horrendous. They were so annoyed and unfriendly it was like they did not want to be at work today. Thats unfortunate in the hospitality business where customer service pretty much means a lot
The badges are great. It does seem like there is a lack of organization here. They only serve regular coffee, so if thats your thing just go n down the street to the many other options. This place would have been a 5, but they have such limited seating. The minimal seating is blocked by the people waiting for their food. If you are getting your begal to go, then this place is great. I personally wanted to eat at the store.
Hmmmm bummer. went here to grab two simple bagels and was there for 45 minutes (promise im not exaggerating! had to keep extending the time on my parking app). after waiting for 25 minutes or so we finally asked about our order and they just said its still coming. i felt bad for asking and then.... proceeded to wait another 15 minutes. bagels were fine. i worked service for a long time so im very understanding when its a busy time but this was truly wild.

Are you looking for a slightly better than average bagel sandwich served with an impressive amount of inefficiency? Look no further! It took 8 (I wish I was exaggerating) employees 21 minutes to assemble a ham, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich. The eggs are pre-cooked, the ham & cheese are pre-sliced, and the bagels are ready to go. I fear that there may be a rip in the space-time continuum located behind the counter that transverses our realty and slows down our perception of time. I could be wrong, but thats a more logical explanation than a 21 minute breakfast bagel.

My wife and I are big believers in the almighty New York style bagel but Brobagel came pretty close! Its chewy on the inside and it has that nice shiny crust on the outside. I had the bacon egg and cheese and it was fantastic!
Always when I come to Chicago I try to eat here for a breakfast. Fast and the people are very friendly. I wish they have tables and internet so I dont have to go to Starbucks.

Outstanding bagels and everything else. However going here is borderline torturous. Walk in, put in your order and find a space to squeeze in and wait for half an hour in their tiny store while you stare longingly at the workers doing their thing seemingly at a glacial pace. There are worse problems to have though I guess.
