I had my motobecane reassembled here and they fixed the brakes and gear shifting.Week later, my bike wouldnt shift to higher front gear and I had it brought in again. They were happy to fix it for me for no cost.

If I could give them less than 1 star I would. I brought a cassette and chain from this bike shop in April and they are already worn out by August. I took them back to the owner today and he tried to deny they did the work. When he checked his computer and realized they did do the work he continued to try to blame me instead of admitting he’d sold me shoddy parts. I would advise anyone considering this shop to avoid them, quality control is questionable at best there.

I have stopped at Small Shop two times in the last month and have had great service and reasonable prices. When my bike was having a problem, they looked at it and fixed it when I walked in. When my front wheel was stolen, they helped me get a replacement in no time.

Great for walk ins & they have a walk-up window. Quick service and a bench outside to sit while you wait.

Its a small place but great location by three blocks away from my my home and the guys in there trying to repair things as fast as they possibly can but its a nice place

I just bought a Schwann Taff 29er from Walmart and right out the box the rear gears didn’t have spacers and was loose not holding the chain while switching gears. So I had an opportunity to visit Small Shop and they took care of me within 30 minutes!! They also gave me advice for a few upgrades to make my bike a solid MTB. I highly recommend this business.

I love this bike shop, always available to help you out with any kind of issues. COVID19 means only one person in at a time, but he tries to move fast. Right on cottage grove with easy access. They have a lot of supplies for your bike. Please support this shop, he trains a lot of young teens to do bike repairs.

This is my favorite bike shop. The workers are so nice and laid back. Their prices are reasonable and they have, not a huge inventory (hence SMALL bike shop), but some really nice bikes for sale. The store has all sorts of cool accessories for bikes. It is so nice to see a bike shop on 43rd and Cottage. And just a short ride down lovely Drexel Ave from Hyde Park.

I was hoping for a great quality bicycle repair shop in my are and that’s just what I found. The service and quality of work was/is superb. The staff was friendly and the store was clean and well stocked. I recommend you give them a try.

Quick service, very reasonable prices and friendly boss! I had a stripped bolt on a pedal and instead of changing it and charge me the fee for a new pedal, he redid the thread and it cost me less than half the price. I still use the bike and the repair is holding on. Very satisfied client visiting from Montreal. He even spoke a few words of french!

I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the folks at Small Shop, they made my bike a joy to ride. I bought a new to me bike two years ago and had it refurbished by another shop (my mistake), and it was frustrating and things were done incorrectly. Since the original refurbishment, I had it repaired at another shop that was slow and did shoddy work. I took it into Chris’s shop two weeks ago to get it tuned up fully expecting to sell the bike because it was not enjoyable to ride, but their extensive (and reasonably priced) fixes have made it so much fun to ride. I didn’t think this bike could work this well or be so much fun. Want to know the best part? They are extremely considerate: they gave me an estimate of how much it would cost to fix, and when they found something else wrong, they called me to make sure that it was okay to go ahead because it would raise the cost slightly (less than $20). Seriously, they are the best.

Awesome shop and best service in like ever! We got a flat while riding by the lake and Google the closest shop. This place is a hidden gem. Called ahead and when we got there, we were greeted by the owner, Chris, who was very friendly. Fixed up our bike in a jiffy and it was cheap too! Super glad this place is around the area! Highly recommend it!

Bought a refurbished bike from Working Bikes a few miles north, and the brake cables were essentially falling apart after 2 months. Chris at Small Shop repaired them in 10 minutes, answered all my stupid questions on how my bike works (so I can avoid further things falling apart) and charged the very reasonable price of $20, much less than what I wouldve been charged elsewhere.Ive never written a Google review before, but felt compelled to do so because this place was so damn good. Conveniently located, efficient service, cheap, and friendly, couldnt recommend it more.

Talk about mediocrity and intergenerational laziness! Came in to spend $$$ on a few nessisisary items and left as I came, empty handed, and a seat replaced that made my ride to a much better bike shop extremely difficult and uncomfortable. There appeared to be no urgency to serve my needs or even concern and know how. I left with heartburn feeling in my gut and will not be returning.
