Kilwins has good ice cream and fudge. On our recent visit we have got the blueberry ice cream (picture) which was good reminded me of black currant ice cream me and brother used to like as kids. So big thumbs up there. Other times we have tried pistachio, butter pecan, etc. Pistachio is a big let down here. This is the reason for a lower rating as pistachio is my my favorite flavor of ice cream / gelato.

A taste of home! I believe they get their ice cream from Michigan. Anytime I need Superman or Blue Moon ice cream, I know Kilwins is the place to go. They have tons of chocolate/fudge options too. The chocolate covered Oreos are another favorite.

WENT IN....INSTANTLY Started looking at all the goods....im picking picking picking....checking out....total popped up...Im like WAIT...is this black owned & she like yes....oh ok ill swipe 🤣😂🤣😂...left out...got in the car & took a bite of the caramel shortbread....LAWDDDD that $120 was worth it!! I will be back but I aint spending all dat mula next time this place a have you going nuts....DELICIOUS!

So, I was walking by this little shop and happened to look through the window and caught a glimpse of fresh, yummy confections! I immediately made a beeline to check it out. Once inside, I was in chocolate bliss. There were so many options to choose from but I decided to grab the Pecan Snapper and the Cashew Snapper since that is what caught my eye through the window. They were delicious! The ingredients were so fresh. If youre in the neighborhood and in the mood for a treat, stop by. You wont be disappointed.

There is a nice variety of fresh chocolate. Almond Crunch bar was my favorite. The customer service was awesome. Will definitely be back

Great place with great items that are always fresh. Black owned which I love and the staff is always friendly. They cover taffy apples, some of the best turtles around and a phenomenal selection of ice cream. Go for the chocolate covered Oreos! 😉

Delicious desserts! Stopped in this weekend...I always get the caramel apple, so fresh and scrumptious. Everything is pretty pricey but the quality makes it worth it. Highly recommend you give them a try.

Wish I could review every item in this candy shop. My 1st item was the Snapper. A much larger version of turtles. Very well balanced, not too sweet, with loads of pecans. I also had the almond bark. I nibbled for days because I didnt want it to end. Today 3/28/21, I got the peanut butter fudge. Its so so sooooo creamy. It literally melts in your mouth. Stay tuned lol

I tried the salted Carmel and Chocolate ice cream and it was creamy and rich. I could taste caramel in every bite. I felt instant joy. I’ll most certainly be back.

I was so excited to finally visit. Kilwins. I got them chocolate cashew caramel which was good my daughter had cookies and cream. She loved it. But the blue moon was horrible Mt daughter took one bite a threw the rest away. I was so disappointed. Was it of my hard earn money. But on the bright side everything else was great. The pecans turtles was good and the pecans apples were also good. I will definitely return.

I’ve been a customer of the location since high school and have always had a great experience with the customer service on top of the quality of the product.I went into the Hyde Park location today and my experience didn’t start off so great. I walked in expecting the usual warm friendly greeting I’m accustomed to receiving when walking into Kilwin’s. Instead I was brushed off multiple times by a younger brown skin male with a ponytail. He was very rude and dismissive and kept putting the load of work off on his coworkers. Luckily the manager (who i remember as a worker from previous years) came out and took over, answered all my questions quickly, you can tell she really new her stuff. She was friendly and social but also very attentive and efficient when it came to getting everyone what they needed and getting the crowd down. I know that this is a great location, I’ve been a customer since a child, I just wish my experience was consistent from start to finish. But I am thankful that someone came along and helped finish it on a good note.

Wonderful and broad selection if you’re in need of a sweet tooth fix.. plenty of chocolate treats, caramels, fudges, nuts, and ice cream to chose from! I personally tried a double scoop of American berry and banana fudge 👌🏽 was not disappointed will be returning, oh and did I mention it’s black owned business!!

The ice cream at this location is delicious but beqare that they do not have air conditioning. I went on a hot day and the inside was hotter than outside. The staff tried to move fast to get the line moving but i was just surprised that no a/c was on for such a hot day. Go on a nice day bc the ice cream really is good.

Seriously the best chocolate almond toffee bar I have ever had! The fudge portions are huge and so tasty. Some of the friendliest staff you will ever meet!

I absolutely LOVE the Caramel Pecan Apples here for years ......they are hands down the BEST !!! the apples are ALWAYS fresh, crisp and juicy the caramel is just the right amount of sweet and the perfect consistency. Just try it you wont regret it

The are about the same price as Baskin Robbins but WAY farther along in quality and taste. If I could I would give it 6 stars to give you some perspective. And the service is great also.

Awful overall experience. To start, the staff were confusing and short with us in terms of how to pay. Second (and much more egregious), since I’m allergic to eggs I asked them if their ice cream had eggs. They didn’t seem to even grasp what allergies were, they gave us a description of the ice creams instead if an allergy list and said that there probably wasn’t eggs if it wasn’t on that list. Sure enough, there were eggs, and I was sick for the next 24 hours after eating their ice cream. So disappointed because we went to support a black-owned business, but that was the worst service I’ve ever had in any kind of food place.

I’ve been to the location in navy pier and was very satisfied! So when I found out there was a location in Hyde park that was more accessible for me, I was very excited about it until I didn’t get the same service from the navy pier location. The line was very long and as the one girl tried her hardest to get the line down the manager Andrew just pointed fingers and stood around without even bothering to help. When the young lady asked for help and he granted it, he was extremely rude and nasty. I requested not to even work with him because of the tone and body language he had! When I asked for a sample of ice cream he butted in stating “no samples” and cut his eyes when I wasn’t even talking to him. But the man had a whole shake in his hand. I really loveeee the company and the treats but this guy is terribleeeee! They’ll be so much better off without him seriously.

This was some of the best ice cream Ive had in Chicago. The mint chip was very creamy but it also had a strong flavor. I love that the chocolate in it were substantial chunks. If you go, you have to get their waffle cone because it was super yummy.I have 3 complaints. First, it is expensive. I understand that you are paying for very high quality ice cream, but it seemed a little much. Second, the prices werent clearly posted anywhere. It wasnt until I paid that I saw how much it was. Third, the flavor I really wanted was sold out. I was excited for their chocolate fudge brownie (I think that was the name), but it was gone. None of these reasons alone would make it deserve to be rated less than 5 stars, but in the aggregate they seemed to justify a 4 star rating.It is still so good, I will definitely go back.

Very disappointed with the experience. The staff were not knowledgeable and they overcharged us. They charged us higher than the advertised price. The cashier seemed to have no idea what she was doing. I wouldn’t recommend going here and I know I will not be returning.

This place is phenomenal! We took the kids on a spur of the moment at night and they were friendly welcoming and the ice cream was delicious but the sorbet is where its at! The kids were so excited they had trouble picking something! Prices werent outlandish but you definitely are paying for quality! Well worth every cent! We will for sure be returning!

Excellent customer service - would give 5 more stars if I could. I visited Kilwins my last night in Hyde Park before dropping off my son for college. I decided I wanted sweet treats instead of a normal dinner - and it was fantastic. I had left my purse outside at the table where my husband and I were seated, even though I didnt realize it at the time. Shortly after arriving home out of state, I received a personal message from the owner of the store who let me know that they had found my purse. She found ME - and it didnt stop there. She made sure to fedex it with tracking and even included a surprise chocolate bar in my purse!!If you havent tried Kilwins on S. Harper - it is a must! Excellent ownership!

Still not worth the price - now the single cup is smaller and the price is $9.99z with a drizzle of hot fudge (seriously, why are they so stingy with the toppings?!), canned whipped cream and a fake cherry. This average dish of ice cream cost me over $10. Baskin Robbins is the same quality for half the price.Old review: Im not sure why I keep going here for ice cream. I got a single scoop sundae and it was almost $8.00 and the toppings were scanty. There was one sad snake of whipped cream, and a tablespoons worth. The hot fudge was about the same, one measly squirt in one place, not even distributed over the ice cream. Very pricey for mass produced chain store ice cream!

It was delicious taste like my grandma ice cream and the staff was very pleasant. I tell everyone if they want home made ice cream go there. Thanks

The fudge is made with high quality ingredients including real butter. I purchased the Turtle fudge. It was good, but a little too sweet for my taste. I think its about 26. a pound.

The customer service is terrible. Employees act like they don’t want to be there and it’s an inconvenience that you are trying to purchase something. I’ve had very few good experiences in comparison to my bad ones.

Placed order via v Uber eats app. Single scoop and 6pc pecan chews. I received melted scoop and caramel rolls.. so disappointed! I was okay with the ice cream issue seeing the travel it takes, but I really wanted my pecans😔😔

I’ve been patronizing Kilwins for many years. Whenever I’m in Chicago it’s typically one of my first stops. I’ve even met the owner on several occasions. I normally have a delightful experience. However; 12/12/2018 around 6:39 PM I stopped in with my daughter to pick up a few caramel apples and peacan caramel streakers. I was flagrant to have Andrew treat me so rudely while I was there. His condescending attitude was totally inexcusable. Andrew displayed a lack of good conduct and his customer service skills are at an all time low. I’m doubtful I will ever return to this store as long as he’s there. I honestly believe he needs a course on good costumer service. I’m very disappointed and turned off by this experience at Kilwins. I would not recommend this location to anyone.

I love this place! I was first taken here by a colleague at The University of Chicago who to me I had to try their ice cream. Now I always get their sea salt caramel ice cream and some fudge to go. The service is great and the chocolate is delicious. I would definitely recommend this place.

Service was slow and a bit unfriendly. The ice cream was quality as usual here. Sponge candy is always yummy but the bags and pieces keep getting smaller with higher prices. Still, Id be glad to come here again, best store of its kind in Hyde Park.

I love this place from my Rum Raisin and chocolate chip mint ice cream, (yes they go together, dont judge me) to my chocolate covered candies. I always enjoy my visit the staff are always friendly, patient and helpful.

The ice cream we had today was super yummy! I had Kilwins mud flavor and my sister had Cappuccino chocolate chip. Soooo good! The young man who waited on us was courteous and informative about the flavors we chose.
