Besco damaged my outdoor A/C unit when moving it and is refusing to repair. Machine now rattles and this is verified by their technician. Their solution was to charge me for a brand new motor on a 5 year old machine. Jim the owner, would rather worry about saving a buck than taking ownership for his crews misfortune. First and last time customer.UPDATE: Jims response only comes after Ive taken up their problem with the BBB. The machine is now completely inoperable and was releasing pressure of some kind. Your tech also said it was fine to operate. I wont be paying more money Jim, the service was never completed and equipment was damaged. Bottom line, no one touched it but Besco air and it was their decision to leave it in October without testing. I trusted their word that they would return in the spring to finish the job and had no say in the matter.

We have signed up with Besco for regular service after buying our new home and having the heat go out shortly thereafter. Somebody walked me through potential fixes on the phone and then they were very clear about the cost of service after hours versus waiting so I could make an informed decision. That fix was pretty simple, the next day, and we had them provide regular service on the system a couple of weeks later and perform a repair. On time, friendly, thorough and helpful. He even brought his own indoor shoes so he didnt have to wear outdoor shoes in my house....how thoughtful.

Due to a bad experience with another company last year I was a little skeptical dealing with yet another HVAC company. But it was wayyyyyyy to hot and the Central Air was not working. We have used Besco for our older heating system twice now since Dec 2020. One time was due to a pump leaking and another time due to another pump making a sound. Technician Rob has come out both times. He takes his time and explains what is going on. He is also mindful of wearing a mask due to Covid. We have also used Besco in the past and have always been really happy with the quality of work.

My engagement with Besco had two key moments but before I recap that, I want to make it clear - these guys were real pros and great to work with. I am extremely happy with their work.I had three quotes to install mini-split A/C service for my first floor (the 2nd/3rd floor had an existing ducted AC system). We had been using a loud, heavy window unit for many years and wanted the mini-split set-up to minimize installation time and avoid tearing up the basement for a ducted system. My sales rep Joe Pedota was the last quote I took and right away I could see he understood what we wanted and made it clear we could get the cooling results we wanted with only 2 units. Unlike the other two quotes, Joe explained where the units would be placed for optimum performance, how theyd cover the area and gave us modest, medium and large air handler options. Besco was not the lowest cost option, but after considering his expert advise compared to the other two providers and the length of Bescos success with this, I decided the value exchange was on par for the cost.After the first day of installation work, I put Joe and his team to the test - their dedication to our satisfaction was undeniable. The first test was moving the compressor and the condenser lines to a different location after they had commenced the work - I was concerned this would be a costly request but since we still at a point where we could shift it, Joe and his team made the change without any hesitation . The second test came a week or so later when we had our first heat of the spring - when I turned on the system, we were not getting any cold air. by the next morning, a tech was back to fix condenser line fitting that caused the leak.I will definitely be using Besco to handle all my HVAC maintenance needs going forward.

We replaced our furnace and a/c unit and were very pleased with Besco. I spoke with four providers for estimates, including three on-site. I was impressed with the detail with which Joe did the estimate. He carefully got out the ladder and went up to the roof to review our current unit. He also drew out our furnace closet and how everything would fit, so there were not surprises. While the price was higher, I had the highest confidence that they would be able to execute well without problems.The installation was also well done, with attention to detail.I’m glad we replaced our furnace at the same time, as the two stage fan is nice. We have it going most of the time to keep all rooms constant. It’s much quieter than what we had before.Replacing your air conditioner and furnace is a big investment. I’m pleased with my choice of Besco.

Rob was very helpful and got my furnace working in 15 minutes after another company told me I would need a $600 part. He reset the code and found the “Limit Switch” was working properly but just needed to be reset. He answered all my questions and went out of his way to explain everything he was doing and why. Joe and his team replaced a boiler in my client’s investment property. They bent over backwards to move up the install date to accommodate a drop in temperature that was going to affect a newborn baby in the apartment. Charge was very high for work done and more than they quoted on the phone given the time spent Which was reason I took off two stars. Repair man was very competent and a week later, I have had no problems with the AC. Also, they were able to come out within half a days notice which was very helpful.

Let me begin by saying that every aspect of our AC install project using BESCO was excellent.We replaced an old Space-Pak air conditioning system with a Mitsubishi / Trane mini-split system. We had three companies give us estimates. Joe, the gentleman who did the estimate for BESCO, was head and shoulders above the others with the information he gave us, the recommendations he made, and responding to our many questions.When purchasing a costly system like this, you are buying more than just the equipment. The install team; the proper AC equipment for your home; the follow-up and help with rebates and product registration; the care given to your home by the installers, etc. are all part of what youre buying. The lowest price will not always be the best value.The installers were on time every day. The five-room install was completed on time. Precautions were taken to ensure that things like the walls, floors, and woodwork were not damaged. The work site was cleaned after each days work, and all was left clean at the end of the install. The technicians were polite to us and each other -- always professional. We were consulted about any aesthetic decisions that needed to be made. A few days after the work was completed, Joe revisited the site and inspected to ensure all was well. And we received a call from BESCO offering assistance applying for a ComEd rebate.BESCO exceeded all our expectations. We can recommend BESCO without reservation. We will continue to use BESCO for all future maintenance on both our AC system and our furnace.Thank you, BESCO!

We had a great experience w Besco with the installation of two furnaces. Job was reasonably priced and when we needed the air flow tweaked to reduce noise they were quick to come out. They also were open and honest in the installation on the roof when a few roofing tiles came off. They told us and we were able to put them in touch w the HOA to get repaired. Overall I would highly recommend them!

Besco replaced my existing furnace and rooftop air conditioning unit.The work was done as scheduled and at the quoted price. Was a very long day, they worked tirelessly, did a very detailed installation. So far the service has been responsive. The furnace has worked well, but am waiting for cooling season to begin to test the AC. They offered a thank you to my co-worker who provided the referral and hes still waiting on that. I would hire them again, and recommend them to others.

Not only were the installers great, Joe was able to get our installation done the next day after we met with him and just before the last heat wave. Our heater stopped working on one of the coldest nights of the year. Called the office around 6 and was led through some basic trouble shooting to see if we could fix it without having to send out a technician. They were genuinely trying to help me without incurring too much trouble. Ultimately they had to send an expert technician, Rob. He called to give us an eta and arrived within one minute of his promise. He was super professional and a nice guy. He was patient w all my questions and answered everything while troubleshooting and solving the problem. Overall it was a very positive experience.

Have used Besco since I moved into my house a few years ago. They have been to my house 6-7 times for regular heating and AC maintenance and 1 emergency. They definitely have good people, but the last few visits have not gone well. I will not be calling upon Besco again. Several months ago for the water heater emergency, the tech billed us for 3 hours, told us to replace the whole heater and couldnt explain why. My husband watched YouTube videos, talked to the manufacturer, replaced one little part, and we were good. The last straw broke when this particular tech, whom Id asked Besco not to send to my house again after a bad experience with AC maintenance, showed up again to service my boiler. The boiler, which had no issue previously, suddenly stopped working after he serviced it. He came back to fix it later in the day and demanded another payment. I supposedly had a grounding problem that was there for a long time, and since the boiler was working when he was here earlier I had to pay for this. I did not argue with him since I had dinner going on the stove, but I do not buy that such a severe problem happened independent of what he did on the same day. Besco really needs to check its staff for competency and attitude.

Jim diagnosed the reason(s) why my air conditioner wasnt working. He was professional, efficient and very knowledgeable. He provided detailed and clear explanations for what was wrong with my air conditioner, and he discussed options available to me for repairing/replacing my air conditioner. I would definitely contact Besco Air again for heating/cooling maintenance and repairs.

They arrived at 7:00am & worked diligently until 3:30pm — knowledgeable, experienced & left utility room cleaner than when they arrived. Our salesman, Joe Pedota, was excellent too. Responded timely to all texts & revised quotes, professional & extremely knowledgeable. Followed up 2 weeks after install to walk us through all options & explain HVAC inter-workings in layman’s terms. Highly recommend!

Besco Air recently helped us replace our two aging air handling systems. One of the systems was an extra complicated attic installation. They were excellent to work with and very responsive. Our A/C system had an issue the first time we ran it and Besco came out the same day (a weekend) to perform a warranty service to ensure the A/C was functioning on a hot and humid day. I would strongly recommend Besco Air.

I write this in appreciation for Besco on the coldest day in Chicago’s history. When our AC stopped working last summer, I selected Besco entirely because of the strength of their reviews. And they are well deserved. Joe and his team patiently worked with us to discuss solutions for our AC problem. Later when we needed had a heater problem, we called them again. And later when we needed a small AC unit installed upstairs, we turned to them yet again. In between, I was in regular contact with Joe via email who was knowledgeable, responsive and helpful. Besco did a great job installing new air conditioners on the roof of my 4 story town house. Everything went very smoothly including using a crane to transfer the air conditioners to the roof. Thanks to Joe for making it happen and taking care of all of my concerns.
