Great museum. Tons of guns. Many different displays. Receptionist is very nice. Free admission with suggestions of 5.00 for one person and 10 .00 for families. Hours of fun and education. Will definitely visit again and tell others about.
This place is small outside but so huge inside. A must see. Great museum.
I spent over 3 hours admiring with envy and amazement walking slowly down every isle that caught my attention. It is the only museum i have ever been to that i did not want to leave. But no food or drinks are allowed anywhere inside the building i should have had breakfast before i came. So so so many wonderful rare beautiful hand guns rifles it is like going back in time. So much history is jam packed into every display case it is amazing to think that one person was able to collect so many wonderful things and get to look at all of it is really a wonderful thing.
This place was AWESOME!!! The staff was friendly and helpful... No fee required, but donations accepted, which makes me love this place for families that cant afford expensive fees on their vacations... if you can afford it, please be like me and drop a little extra in the box to keep it this way... thank you J. Davis legacy!! Awesome collection!!
The collection was not very impressive at all, the display was worse, very random. They couldn’t even find a commercial M9 pistol for their gulf war display and had to use a 92FS. If you are into guns, it doesn’t hurt to stop by if it’s on your way somewhere, but I wouldn’t go out there specifically for the museum.
The best museum that’s one of a kind in the whole world!!
Tons of guns from all over the world so if youre interested in seeing guns this is the place to view them
This place was awesome. Give yourself 3-4 hours at least to really enjoy whats here. Worth the future m detour!
I was very surprise when arriving to the place. When walked in the lady was very nice and gave us some instructions. We started our tour and was very surprised on how many guns there are. Many rifle handguns and collectibles. Very clean and presentable. Would definetly like to come back if in Oklahoma again.
Very good place for gun lovers amazing collection of historic firearms of every kind from around the world
This is not a super modern museum, but I did enjoy it a lot. The key thing to note is that, although there are lots of guns, there are other things to see. Entry is free. There is a suggested donation of $5 per adult. I think it would be easy to spend 2 or more hours there. Closed on Sunday and Monday. There is a toy gun display in the back.
Awesome museum. Outstanding gun collection plus alot of other really interesting stuff.
A very wonderful place to visit. However, information of early closures or other issues or special events need to be updated frequently on the website or social media sites in order for visitors to plan accordingly. We drove 2 hours to visit the facility only to view the museum for 10 minutes before an emergency closure, that planned the day before, was announced.
For a small museum it had a lot of great artifacts and very well laid out.
Amazing collection! If you like weapons and history this is a must see. Admission is donation.
A magical and very interesting collection. The historian and gun enthusiast will really enjoy these unique and artistic artifacts.
Neat if you have never been. They do a summer camp for kids. They also have an old thyme movie theater. They play black and white movies.
Great collection of a variety of item from all periods of tume.
This place was incredible to be in. Wall to wall guns and different displays to keep you interested. Fun facts to learn along the way. The staff is very knowledgeable and SUPER friendly. Very kid and toddler friendly as well.
I really enjoyed this Museum. It houses over 20,000 firearms and firearm related items and contains guns from all around the world including Kentucky rifles, a Gatling gun, black-powder guns of all types, cannons, rare Colts, Winchesters, elephant, whaling, and outlaw guns.Besides firearms, the collection contains 1,200 German beer steins.
It was awesome! I walked around for about 1 1/2 hours and only saw about half of the guns
Love this place. Good place to take kids. I didnt think my 7 and 2 year old would survive but we ended up staying over 2 hours. My husband reloads and is a gun enthusiast so he was there longer he loved it. They have a display of vintage cap guns, kids old toy guns. My kids loved it they had a setup to take pictures. They had a display for train something that is not done yet. Hoping we can go back and see that. The only reason we left was because my kids were starving. They have seating in several areas for breaks. Way to much to look at, Im sure we will go again this summer. We found it well worth the drive and donation. Its nice to go somewhere affordable. Good place for a large group or family. Clean and lots of information. The lady at the front is very kind and helpful. Photo shown is my kids favorite gun.
Did not know there were that many guns and related stuff. When you walk in its an awe moment at the shear size of the museum.
Amazing collection and history. A must visit if you are in town
What ever you do, prepare to spend 4 hours at a minimum here. If you like/love firearms and history, it could be an all day outing! I stopped in on my travels expecting to breeze through it right before it closed. How wrong I was. This museum is amazing, and the displays and sheer number of firearms is bordering on overwhelming! (Note: I am not being hyperbolic.)I look forward to spending an entire day exploring this hidden gem!
This place is bigger than it looks. My husband loves guns and we went there this morning. I expected him to be done in an hour or less but we were there almost 2 hours ava he could have stayed longer.
Lots of history in a small place. Very neat to check out. Donations only.
Too much for one day. If your not a gun fanactic problably not for you.
My son is a gun enthusiasts. We stumbled onto the museum when we purchased a vehicle across the street. He, of course, loved every second of the museum. We all enjoyed the amazing collection of not only guns but also saddles, spurs and much more.
Any history buff will love this place, not just guns!
My son loves to visit the museum, the staff is super friendly
I have been going to the JM Davis Gun Museum since I was a child. My father would take my brother and I. Im a grown man now and my wife and I take our children. Its far more than just a place with a bunch of guns. It is the history of our great Nation in the flesh. There are firearms that represent our country at every turn. Next, Ill bring my grandkids. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Its a great place to visit.
My family had a great time here. The collection is vast and very well organized. Even my grumpy pre-teen got interested.
Great place to visit. Self touring. Lots of historical information along with thousands of guns and other artifacts. Seeing the donated guns from local police departments were pretty cool. Each of my teenage boys had something that was their favorite. Easily spent an hour there m, could have spent more. We didnt see everything. Free to visit, donations only accepted. Had a gift shop and clean bathrooms.
If you are into guns or just history this is the place to be. Crazy amount of guns to see.
Awesome place for boys and men and women that love guns and stuff interesting place
Overwhelming collection of firearms. Great stop!
Whoa what a collection. J. M. Davis was a very avid collector of guns but also son much more. Taxidermy, steins, black smithing equipment, historical artifacts. Really well layed out museum and really friendly staff. I really liked the collection of international weapons.
I LOVED this I could have stayed much longer!
So much to see. Going to take at least one more visit to get through all of the displays.
Well worth a small donation to see! Awesome collection of firearms and collectables from the past!
Theyve got such a wide variety of weapons. The kids really enjoyed seeing the different weapons and the history of them.
Very clean, comfortable, and educational
Great place to visit. Definitely going back.
AWESOME 👍🏽😎
Had a great day
Great place to visit, they have every gun every made and its just a wonderful place to spend a Saturday. They charge on a donation basis so thats always nice as well. Id give it 5 stars but they frown upon you riding in the tank. They have a cool looking knife exhibit as well and a nice little shop you can buy little trinkets and books. You should definitely try to make it out to visit once in your life.
Great place to see guns
Overwhelming amount of guns. Very cool stop. Youd need all day though!
This is a must see if your a gun guy. Even if your not there is a good bit of history about guns and the city.of Claremore. Free entry. They ask for donations. If you like tl donate. About 1- 1 1/2 hour walk through.
Theres a lot to see. If youre an enthusiast or collector, you will spend a lot of time here. If youre neither, everything starts to look the same after about 5 minutes. Great way to spend a lazy afternoon though.
My nephew had a wonderful time!
What a hidden gem!I can’t believe it took me this long to write a review. It’s been about 3 years and I can’t wait to go back.Plan a day with a break for a picnic or grabbing a bite to eat in town and then return. Such an amazing place that you can not get enough of and not enough time in the day to take it all in.What an amazing collection this man has left in trust to be preserved for people to enjoy forever.Thank you so much for such a memorable day for my husband. It cost absolutely nothing, but donations are accepted and I recommend. If you don’t think it’s worth it than don’t donate, I hardly find that would be the case.Just amazing.
Each time I visit I take a different route through the dozens of aisles, and each time I have to call it quits after just a couple of hours, as it is just too much to take in. It is inconceivable (yes I know what that word means) an individual such as Mr Davis could have amassed a private collection of over 14,000 firearms. My hats off in his memory and for the legacy he left the within the city of Claremore, OK of his fantastic museum.
We went there to see the new display of the american indians. It was nice. The place is huge. I had a great time looking at all of the fire arms. Then lunch at the Hammet house, a great day.
Its free to go ( donations accepted.) I have gone here since I was a young girl. I tried explaining to my husband just how many guns are there but it never does it justice until you see how many guns there are! I love all the historic weapons and the outlaw guns. My kids really enjoy seeing all of them as well. Would recommend a visit if youre a gun enthusiast and even if you are not, the history is a big draw.
This museum has the largest collection of guns Ive ever seen. And it’s free to get in. You can’t beat free! They have so many guns they have to rotate pieces through.A definitely stop! Largest private gun collection in the world. They don’t just have guns. They have a lot of history in here. This museum has the largest collection of guns Ive ever seen.
Overload of firearm supremacy!!!! Loved every minute of it!!!
It was awesome, nice people, nice place and nice show pieces...
I loved this place! My head was buzzing when I left. I want that one and that one...
Ive been there Many, Many times.Enough to think Ive seen it ALL.But Every time I come back to visit, there is ALWAYS some new collection, I seem to have OverLooked.A MUST SEE for any FireArm Enthusiasts Bucket List!!@
They are preserving our history and our love of guns. Only place Ive ever been where you could go to someones grave while in a business.
I enjoyed reading about the history of many things here. Cause there is more than just guns here
The best gun museum. Been here several times over the years, brought my 13 year old grandson here and he was really excited. He is a hunter and really enjoyed the different guns. And loved the small handguns.
This was my Great Great Uncles collection on my Mothers side, I never new to much about him till my first time here at the museum, the film that they shared was amazing, he was a Great kind man that cared about guns an the city & people of Clarmore. It is an Amazing collection. Thanks for sharing Uncle Jim
Loved it! Cant believe how many guns they have there
Wonderful collection of firearms, but the map provided upon entry is unreadable, and there is no rhyme nor reason to the layout to even ensure that you’ve seen all there is to see. A good map and a division of the gallery into marked sections/rows would help immensely. Or a line on the floor that outlines a pre-determined path to follow would be a great help. Still not sure I saw everything there was to see because it was all so confusing.
Fantastic collection of firearms and other weapons, Claremore-specific items, cowboy, military, outlaw, police, and prison artifacts, etc.!
Excellent. We have to go back to finish even after spending 2+ hours looking.
Amazing collection of guns and historical information
They say that quality exceeds expectations. If thats true, this museum is quality times 100.I never imagined such a large collection, so well preserved, so well organized, so well identified, and so creatively displayed. You can cruise the aisles, like I did, and see most of the groups. Or you can plan the hours needed to examine a majority of the groups. If I get to go again, Ill first select a few categories and see in detail the displays that most interest me.Combining the firearms AND the non-firearm artifacts, Im estimating the museum contents approach 15,000 individual items!Im guessing the glass covered displays require thousands of square feet of polished glass. Dont let the size of the one city block wide building fool you.Its Big.
Largest private arms collection in the world. Unlike many museums, nearly everything is properly labeled. Friendly staff. I could spend weeks there.
So much to see! We spent 3 hours inside and could easily have stayed longer. A must see for gun or history lovers. Nicely organized and lots of information about all the items. I especially enjoyed the Law and Order memorabilia. Seating available in the back if you need a break or are waiting for others. Our daughter enjoyed the train set, the childrens table with books and the horse and buggy. Free admission. Gift shop items available also. The map is especially helpful when looking for favorites.
Very good
It was a very nice place. It holds a lot of American history.my boys had a great time walking through looking at all the displays and reading about history. Staff is very friendly and informative.
Really interesting Museum that is totally free. They do accept donations and I gladly donated. Really awesome if you like guns and history.
I really enjoyed the visit. As other reviewers point out, its much more than just guns. The breadth of the collection staggered my mind. There is so much more to learn; I hope they add more information in the displays. Ill be back.
