We tried something new to us. This is such a cute diner! The staff was all very friendly and welcoming from the time we went inside until we left. We both chose to have breakfast. We each got different omelets and they were each delicious. The portions were large for the price too. It was just under $25 without the tip for both of us. I’m coming back to try the grits next time! They are looking for a chef! If you know anyone who is a fit, let them know!
The service is friendly and, the cooks no expert. But the hospitality from the staff could use a bit of a up-lifting to help the already luxurious decor of the 50s designed in the grease era.

Now heres a place that when you first walk in the door you feel welcome the owner himself greet you with a smile the waitresses are fantastic the cooks I watch them perform miracles today they worked as a team got the food out fast and boy was it good I was glad that I got carried out so I could just enjoy it by myself I got breakfast and lunch to go. I would like to thank the owner and the entire staff for their great service 😉😉😉
Greeted like family! They didnt know us when we walked in, but we felt like family from the first second. Great warn and friendly atmosphere. Treated us just like the regulars they had. Food was amazing and filling. Has the authentic diner look but is still clean and well kept. Owner was seen doing simple jobs to help out and even had a conversation with us. Definitely recommend and will be back!Must eat here if in the Cleveland Area!!!

Talk about a trip back in time. The steel sided trolley diner reminds me of old days. The food, the customer mix, and the sounds all contribute to a great experience.
This had such a cozy atmosphere. It took me back to when I was younger and going to the older diners with my parents. It was very clean and well maintained, the service was great & everyone was fo friendly. The prices and portions where great! The food was very good. I would definitely return.
The home frys with cheese and onions was really good! Most people don’t make them right but that was delicious. Iced tea felt like it had no sugar in it so I had to put some in myself… and the biscuits and gravy was not good at all…. It just didn’t seem homemade .. but everything else was good the eggs were cooked perfectly and the grits was seasoned absolutely impressive!And keep up the good customer service!
French toast with maple syrup and a side of crispy bacon, with a tall, cold, glass of chocolate milk!! By far the best omelet Ive had in years. The vegetables in my western were so fresh I almost didnt believe it! Very nice staff and owner. I will definitely be in attendance again.

When one is in the mood for a low-priced, delicious meal with a heavy dose of nostalgia and a longing for simpler times, this is the place to visit. Staff is friendly with a no nonsense approach to service. You can chat with any of the patrons and within two minutes, get a sense that youve known them for a long time. There should be a breakfast joint like this diner in every neighborhood. Too bad thats not the case.

I absolutely love the 55th diner! I work at Burke Lakefront Airport and always enjoyed my Sunday breakfast from there! The staff is always so pleasant and hospitable. The omlets are very good! My favorite thing to get from there is the New Englander breakfast with 2 extra eggs, cheese, with white toast, half and half on grits and home fries with a side of sausage gravy and a chocolate milk!

Food was amazing. They had complimentary cream of spinach and cheddar soup and it was awesome. Then I ordered a burger and onion rings and the burger was huge. You could taste the freshness in the patty and it was made from scratch and came out nice and hot. The onion rings were nice and crispy. We were recommended to eat lunch here from a guy at a nearby PSI school. Great experience!

Cool old school Diner. I had the gyro omelette for breakfast and it was amazing! The service was excellent and the owner Jimmy stopped and introduced himself. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly! I cant wait to come back and try lunch!
Love the breakfast options but always end up ordering a lunch item too. Ordered a steak salad that was huge and a fair amount of steak for the price. Love their patty melts too! The waitresses are friendly and will sit down with you to get your order. This place is always busy. Short hours but make it a point to go into this refurbished diner car.

This has been a staple in Cleveland for a long time so Ive been going there for years. The service is great. The food is great. The atmosphere is relaxing - and great. The prices are affordable, and the food NEVER disappoints. The owner is a pleasant guy that always greets you with a smile. He will make your day regardless of what kind of mood youre in. And the servers are fun and nice to be around. Theyre professional, efficient, outgoing, and pay special attention to you, even if its really busy in the restaurant. The menu is simple small, but hey its a diner! (A great dinner by the way) So what would you expect? If youve never been here you have to try it. Its conveniently located on the corner of E. 55th Street and St. Clair, and about a mile off the freeway and the lake front. If its crowded, dont worry you wont have to wait long. This is a place you have to experience.

Awesome food, wonderful service. We unfortunately missed breakfast, but we had a light lunch. The Monte Christo was to die for and the grilled cheese was the gooiest Ive ever had! Awesome onion rings. Looking forward to eating there again.

One star rating is for management, the food is excellent, the servers are very friendly and welcoming. As a business owner I recognize these people as a crew that deserves respect and gratitude. The manager lacks this insight, he is often verbally abusive to staff within earshot of customers. Degrading and humiliating employees in front of customers is disgraceful... it’s also bad for business.DearMr Manager, hope you read this and reconsider the way you treat your hard working employees and people in general.
