Disappointing customer service. When I arrived there was only 1 employee. I arrived around 5pm. The employee states that they cant provide any services after 6pm due to all mechanics leaving. So with is the point of closing at 7pm?

I always have the worst time when i come to pep boys and its pretty much only this location that i always have an issue. their appointment system is a joke. i either get my appointment cancelled right before even though i made it the day before, or they take over 3 hours even if i have an appointment. and they literally could care less about how inconvenient they are. this will be the last time i ever come to this pepboys ever. its not worth the stress if you dont have time or patience.an oil change takes 30 minutes at most no reason i should be waiting 3 hours

Do not waste your valuable time at this location!!! They have the worse customer service and don’t even acknowledge your appointment. My fleet van DID NOT get serviced even though I had an appointment. They requested I leave it over night. It was never contacted in the FOUR hours the van was sitting there. I’m extremely dissatisfied and will be making a formal complaint. The “customer service representative” Kam was extremely rude and only told me the manager name is Alex. Again, DO NOT WASTE your time and money at this place! You have been warned.

Staff was rude and they send you a message when youre vechile is ready so i recieved one and my car was not ready i guess they do that to fool the system because I still had to wait an hour more. Oh yeah I was waiting there the whole time did they care i guess not.

My car was leaking what I thought was oil, figured it be an easy fix for a leak. Turns out its something within the engine they couldnt fix. they still charged me 41 bucks and wasting my day since my car is still not fixed. At least they told me what was wrong...

I walked in and was asked what I needed. I replied saying that my check engine light was on and needed it read. The associate, John, cut me off and said youll have to leave it here over night for an engine diagnostic. I told him I was simply looking to get the codes read..he was very rude. Told me it would take him over 30mins to help me. You could tell he just didnt want to help. He then told me 3 other places that could read my code for me..I said, no thank you..I always come here. When he did help me he walked out to my car and told me the codes, I said thank you and he didnt say not one more word and just walked away. Didnt offer to tell me what they meant or ask if Id like it fixed. Nothing. Very rude, I will NEVER return. Ive always gone to Pep Boys - as my grandparents used then religiously but this instance just lost my business.

Ive been at Pep Boys numerous times 4 years ago I went to Pep Boys on Shaw and Clovis to get a battery for my truck they trade me very well and they took care and put a new battery in my truck and there were really fast getting it done then this morning I had to get another battery doing a head of my truck lasted for years they did an awesome job the staff is awesome very knowledge the mechanic was very knowledge I appreciated what they did for me

*** UPDATE ... after reaching out to the contact provided by Pep Boys and further discussing with Manager and Area Manager the details of the incident below, an amicable solution was reached and was appreciated. Updated to four stars. Would have considered five stars if didn’t have to return back due to wrong part being ordered. However, acknowledge the efforts to correct. Overall, would recommend location focuses on customer service but appreciative in the steps to correct a wrong.Came in 7/2/20 10 AM. Car was not attended to until 7/3/20 4 PM. Tried to prepare to gift a car to someone for free. Got an oil change. Air filter changes. Didn’t have a problem getting into car from outside. During process where asst mgr John checked odometer. We were no longer able to get into car from outside. Appeared they were trying to hold customer responsible for fixing a problem which happened in their possession. Declined service. Indoor handle fixed but now cannot get into front door at ALL. Not intermittently. Leaving public comment about poor service. Would not recommend location.

I went in with my fleet car for two things. One service they could not do. Then after waiting two plus hours they decided to tell me my four tires are being replaced. I never said anything about doing my tires or checking them. I only had two hours to wait. Now I’m waiting five plus hours. Never again will I visit this place.

I was looking to get my front brake disk resurface... and found that pep-boys does it... and went to ask how much, and Richard told me that they need to check them out... he mention no charge to check them .. but it will take 3 to 4 hrs... later that day Richard called me with a huge estimate of +/- 600 USD to do all 4 brakes 0_o WHAT !? ... Richard was not able to explained why my disk couldnt be resurface.... he just said Hot spots... we need to replace disk&pads on the front, resurface the back brakes and readjust e-brake...I declined and I couldnt believed all that... I will take it to another place...

Odered on line battery for pick up at local store, only to find out when i get there and be informed, they no longer sell products, there out of business, website seems to overlook that, I can see that happening since there customer service has been in decline for years, I do feel for the employees that tried to do an excellent job.

Had an appointment at 5:30 pm, came in, and was told they couldnt work on my vehicle because they were backed up. Was told to just make an appointment earlier in the day to which I said I couldnt because Im working. Whats the point of an appointment system if it cant be honored?

Do NOT give this place your hard earned money, I went in Friday to have them replace a dead rear driverside turn signal. They fixed it upon getting out of work later that evening I find my whole headlights do not work, I bring it in Sunday and they tell me it will be 90$ for an inspection fee to figure out the problem. I asked how does replacing a bulb result in all my headlights not working to which the manager replies I DONT KNOW called HR and Ron White the district manager is going to handle it . Upon them reassembling my truck together I find a loose screw on the floor from the bottom and when I check to see of they re affixed it after telling them about it I fine TWO screws missing. This place is never getting my business again. I will tell others not to go here long as I live and recommend the place I should have taken it to the 1st time . Thanks for nothing Pep Boys.

Be prepared to put air in your tires every month if you get new tires from this place. Also needed a sensor replaced in the tire and they were unable to reset it after charging me $180. They did not reimburse me, they said I needed to go to a dealer so the dealer can fix it I went back twice to try and get them to fix this. They said flatly they do not have the skills.

Customer service here is horrible. For an oil change it takes them all day. Will not provide you an ETA for when they will be done. Don’t understand how they can compete in today’s market. Will take all our fleet vehicles somewhere else. Go somewhere else if you want good service in a timely manner.

I say I love pep boys auto parts and service because Ive been going there all my life it seems like Pep Boys has been around for a long long time especially the one on Blackstone! Lets face it they have everything you need there tool kits different sorts of things you need separately socket wrenches crescent wrenches you name it they have it batteries seat covers they do work on cars are for you to tires six things on your car the whole nine yards! By far its one of the better places around as far as Im concerned thank you so much for asking

Im a devout Pep Boys card holding customer. My visit here today wasnt so pleasant. Theres a service clerk here with the initial of J as first name who could use more customer service orientation. This guy treated me rudely then acted like he was proud of it. The cashier and other store clerks had very friendly and welcoming personalities. Im so use of the good ole friendly American professional service at Pep Boys. The guy at the service desk abruptly just left as I was talking to him about my car and acted like he had something else to do, he had a bad attitude. Im sure he wouldnt want to be treated in the manner he treated me. Coming here today ruined my day. : (

Staff cannot agree on pricing + no phone call as requested when car was ready to pickup + when asked where is the service staff who was helping me, I was told getting parts after 15 minutes of me standing around and all employees watching me I asked the same staff again where is Jeff it has been 15 minutes I thought he was only going to be a few minutes rounding up some parts? And before he could answer another employee jumped in and said Jeff is not getting parts hes on his lunch break. I have been to this location before and have experience the same degree of customer service incompetence the only reason I came to the store today was because I had a rewards voucher and a discount voucher otherwise I avoid this store unless desperate and that is really a shame because this used to be my number one go to auto parts store!

Great experience today at Pep Boys Clovis! Jessica, the first person I talked to, was very friendly and knowledgeable, and made sure that everything would be done by the end of the day. When I came to pick up my car, Sergio was also very friendly and helpful. Two new tires later, and my car is driving fine again! Thanks so much!! If I need to, Ill definitely be back!

Made an appointment for an oil change and a tire rotation. Ran some errands for couple hours and didn’t receive any call that it was done. I came back to check and it was already done and a representative asked if I wanted a tire rotation because the technicians recommended it (even though my request was already written on my receipt) and if I did it would take 30 more minutes.No call back, no rotation, 3 hour oil change = subpar service . 2 stars because they have good discount coupons.

Made an appointment for a simple oil change and free tire rotation. It took over 2 hours for them to change oil and rotate tires. Checked oil before leaving and it was low. Had to argue with a manager to get a half a quart of oil to bring up to proper level on dipstick. Then went to leave and they had forgot to reset co9999mputer. Dash board says need oil change soon. Had to go back in and ask them to do what I already paid them to do. Simple job took all afternoon. Advertised price was 18$ lower than actual price. They get one star for being friendly. The mechanic was polite and helpful. The trickery used by the corporation was bad business in my book.

There was nothing like liked about pep boys their staff is under knowledge about mechanical issues. Bought a flasher unit to try to solve my led lights issue no one could tell me how to fix the problem. The guy was initially too lazy to even look up the correct part number.. So he finally does I try the unit in the parking lot.. It doesnt work.. I try to return it and their staff said we cannot accept returns on electrical.. ?? So basically you rob people for their money and dont back up the product you sell. I had not even left the parking lot.. This was the third time I three days they gave me wrong part information!! I will never use them again.. And If I were you Id take my business somewhere else.. Take it from a business owner who takes pride in serving his customers take you business else where..

Came here to get my heater blend door actuator replaced. I did not need a diagnosis because I already knew what was wrong but they said it would be $90 just to look at it. I agreed to that thinking they would repair it at a reasonable cost after but boy was I wrong! They called me after looking at it and told me it would be $1000.00 best case scenario to replace or $1200.00 if it needed more solution put in after replacing bad part. I was blown away. I called Sears and they gave me a free quote over the phone for $120.00 to fix. I took it to Sears and had the work done there. Im still upset I went to Pep Boys and gave them $90 for nothing. I will never stop foot into Pep Boys again.

I only left 1 star because I couldnt leave 0. They are very unprofessional and very inexperienced in the service industry. I first arrived there with a rental truck that they are contracted to service and spent 20 minutes waiting to get my paperwork completed at the end of it all they told me they could not help me because my keys didnt have the truck ID # on them from the rental company. This was after I called them first to make arrangements to have the truck serviced, at that time nothing was mentioned to me about needing the ID tag. I then returned another day after I got the ID # and scheduled a service again. Once again I waited about 20 minutes to check in my truck, when there was a service advisor stand 2 feet away from me who then told me there was no reason for me to wait if I am dropping off a rental to be serviced. They had told me it would take approximately 3 hrs to complete my service, and that was fine with me. An hour later they called to upsale me on tires, because my rear tires were worn down, and that was fine with me. Than 5 hrs later they call me again to tell me.they are unable to service my truck because the do not have a lift that is large enough to lift my truck. Mind you this is almost closing time, and they have inspected my truck 4 hours earlier to try to sale me more products, but did not know at that point they were wasting my time. Needless to say, I didnt get my truck serviced, and if that is the competency of employees that works there, I am glad that no one touched my truck. Strongly discourage anyone from using this facility!!!

Ive been here on a few occasions, the young people at the front are friendly and the store has a great selection of parts and tools. However, WAY too overpriced for simple services. And they were not able to correctly pinpoint my cars problems TWICE that I ended up figuring out from local private mechanics. Good store for items and tools but I cant recommend for mechanical services.

As I sit in the waiting room and watch person after person come and go who arrived after me and without appointments leave, I’m wondering why I’m still here. When I ask the manager and team they all tell me they don’t have an estimated time or know why people are skipping me with the same service. (Tire replacements) I guess if the service people like you, you go first. 4 hours and counting and no one told me anything about a long wait when they where making my ticket.Why?Towards the end of my visit a team member told me, “Tickets get mixed up all the time.”So, if you have no other choice than to come to PepBoys on Shaw and willow Clovis, CA make sure you watch your plastic bag with your ticket in it and question every time they pick the ones behind yours.

I wish I could give them zero stars!!!!! I made an appointment at 10am to just change the FRONT BRAKE PADS! We left the car. We then get a call at 12:15 to let us know the pricing. We get to the service center at 1:15 thinking the car will be done only for them to tell us it will be another 30-45 minutes!!! We were not just walk ins expecting the service to be fast but we actually had a 10am appointment and here I am at 1:30 waiting outside with my 2 kids waiting for them to finish. Never again will I come here.

If I could put 0 stars that would be too much....We went in one day about 2 months ago and we were treated horrible. We needed parts for our truck and we ended up ordering them since they didnt have them in. Which was fine.But we stood in line for nearly 40 minutes.There were 2 ladies checking people out and a line of 4 in front of us and some people behind us. Only 1 of the ladies was working while the other was standing at the computer doing nothing. I walked closer and the lady doing nothing was playing a slot game on the computer. Ignoring everyone. I have pictures of this.So we placed the order finally, and we were to them up the next day between 11-12. We got there around 11:40am and asked someone to bring out our order and the lady (different than the slot player) looked it up and said it wasnt in to come back tomorrow at 2 to pick it up.When we told her we were told to pick it up today she actually had the nerve to say and I quote Well thats not my problem, if you want the parts to come in tomorrow to get them or not. And walked away....We left the store and got the parts somewhere else and got our money back.I called the complaint number and got out through to someone higher up and was told Id be called back by someone higher than him to fix this. Well about 2 months later I NEVER received a call and nothing has been done.Never coming back to pep boys again. Ever.

Never will I ever do business with any pep boys location again. Not just this location but all of them. Came in to have my disc brake rotors turned. 15 minute job, was told to come back in 2 hours. Not a big deal every Bay door had a car in it. I get it theyre busy. I come back two hours later and not only were my rotors not done or started. But I know for sure they forgot about it.

I have a love/hate relationship with Pep Boys. Theyre great for small maintenance jobs on your car like oil and tire changes but not difficult engine work. I learned that the hard way after spending $2500+ and still having to scrap my car. In my case, the motor needed to be lifted out to get to the underside and they bent the engine mount bracket and lost one of the bolts needed to re-mount it. Not pleased. My engine wobbled while I drove AND the problem wasnt fixed. 👎😞

I definitely would not ever come back to this store ever again nor suggest anyone to come to this store, I called there so called manager JR, and the man sounded so disruptive and aggressive over the phone, all I needed was to put on a trailer tire and he said another pepboys can help me in a rude manner, I didnt even get to finish my issue I had over the phone, they need to let him go, its outrageous why a person so rude should work there, after I got off the phone I chose to go there with my actual boat tire instead getting the run around, then a service writer named NICOLE snapped at me rudely, after I needed to replace my boat tire she told me we dont have a machine for a trailer tire, its unsafe.... again with the run around, OMG, what kind of service crew do you guys have here!!!! 😡 ANOTHER pepboys took care of me the next day and guess what ....... they replaced the tire with no hassle!!

If I could I would give zero stars. I arrived at 1pm car stood untouched for 3.5 hours. Mechanic Rodney took my car in took off my wheels and did inspection. After I gave ok to fix what needed to be fixed he disappeared. Car stood on lift untouched for another 1.5 hours. Rodney came back and started working on another car. During this time period there was no communication about what was going on. The only saving grace was a mechanic named Walker who took over my vehicle and got it done in about an hour. By the time I was ready to go it was after 7. I asked to speak with a manager and he basically said there wasnt anything he could do. He seemed alright with what happened. I dont mind having to pay for the amount I did if I knew what was going on and it was done in a reasonable amount of time. This store shows no care for customer service. I would recommend going to Les Shwab even if its a bit more they show great customer service. I know I will never go back here unfortunately I couldnt make it there today in the condition my car was.

Bought a tire from this store a month ago it starts to go flat so I figure hey roadside hazard warranty no worries. Get there from work at 630 they tell me it may not be done tonight but they open at 7. To bad I work at 7 and they refused to fast track one tire, this is stupid you had an hour and a half to fix a flat that you guarantee.

PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE AND STOP GIVING THEM BUSINESS, BECAUSE THEYRE NOT IN THE BUSINESS OF BEING HONEST OR HELPFUL.This place used to be really good, Ive gotten multiple vehicles serviced here since 2012 and today has to be the worst I have ever seen. I dont know if there was a change in management or not, but I took my vehicle in and explained what the issue was and I wanted them to do an evaluation to make sure. I had an appointment at 11 and I thought it was going to take an hour or less, but it took them until 1:30 to tell me I needed a new sway bar linkage and an alignment.I said yes and I paid them because I TRUSTED them (big mistake right?), I trusted that they knew what they were doing when I EXPLAINED what was happening and they RECOMMENDED a service and I PAID for the service. If you didnt guess it, my car is still having the same problem and now theyre saying its the tires and I asked, well why did you recommend me change the sway bar linkage? if that wasnt the problem why did you recommend it and why did I pay for it?Apparently this place is only about getting customers to pay for the service and not about what they advertise at all.

Made an app for an oil change. Arrived early and am still waiting to go home. Its been about an hour and a half. I would expect this if I didnt have an app like happened to me at Walmart my last oil change. But this is ridiculous.Update: been here 2h30m. They said they would let me know when it was ready when I check an hour ago now. No one notified me and I see my car waiting in the dock. I come to the checkout and she tells me they have yet to input all the information to send it off. She says it was not in the systems queue to be registered. So shes doing it now as I write this.

Last visits were a huge improvement from the past, but that isnt saying much as they were pretty atrocious in the past (5 mins to find item, near 40 in line due to only one line for returns and purchases, and 2 returns ahead of me). This round was relatively smooth, so 2 stars instead of one. Hope they can keep improving

I am giving this location one star because its very rare I get the chance to take advantage of the oil service deal they have Tuesday through Thursday and the last few times I have done so the location in clovis on shaw always says the same bs Im surprised the system allowed you to make a same day appointment and then they turn me away even though I have a appointment! I come from sanger so I really do not appreciate that. This is the only location that does that. All other locations I have talked to agree that this location is simply being lazy and that they get other customers stating the same or other issues.

***The hype about girls taking in their vehicle to get serviced will get ripped off by jerks=boys is TRUE!***I visited Pep Boys back in Dec of 2012 for an oil change and tire rotation. The service was completed as I requested with no complaints. It was that time again for another oil change and tire rotation. I went in on a Sunday morning right before my vacation driving 6 hours away equaling hundreds and thousands of miles. As I got greeted by a service writer named Jacob I told him that Im going out of town for a few days and I needed my tires rotated and an oil change done. Jacob wrote up my order and I waited. Then 45 minutes of waiting Jacob aware me that I needed a transmission flush and my alternator belt changed because there are a lot of cracks in it to where if it breaks I can be stranded. Therefore, Jacob recommend to at least change the alternator belt for now until I get back from my trip and then change the transmission fluids. So I did as recommended with out even knowing how much the parts will be but only that it was going to cost $$ much. After the service was completed was given a total that I was completely unsure to why I was charged so much. I then called back later and another clerk there had to explained the charges to step by step. Which it totally made no sense to me but whats done is done.I then went back when I got back from my trip due to my steering wheel shaking when I get on the freeway going 60 mph or more and my alignment was off. Service writer John said to me that all they did was just rotated my tires and oil change my car. If I wanted my tires aligned and balanced then I needed to pay extra for it. My complaint is WHY? I brought my car to them with the alignment perfectly aligned and no shaking to the steering what so ever and after Pep Boys completed their services to my car its not the same...What ever you guys do and decide....always remember the quote you pay for what you get. I should have continued going to the dealerships and pay more and not come and give such cheap skates and rude service writers business!

Ive had a great experience going to Pepboys! Ive gone to service my car there every since I got my license in 2009 and theyve been miracle workers! Although they always seem to be busy, they make an effort to treat their customers with respect and dont take out their stress on their customers.I had my car check engine light on for a couple of months recently and could not figure out what was wrong with it. My car used to stall when changing gears, and it was all bad. Pepboys suggested that I replaced my fuel pump, I did, and now my car is running as good as new!
