My wife took a massive box of gently used clothes and brand new toys to this location and they had her wait in the car for THREE HOURS while they sort through everything. After FINALLY calling her back into the building, they offered TWELVE DOLLARS for everything. It was easily $150.00 worth of stuff and thats am insanely low ball estimate. I will never in my life waste my time dealing with this joke of an establishment...
This location has very bad customer service and management. Closing up shop early. Refusing to buy anything after 2pm. Very rude and loud with unreasonable rules that change every time you visit. Very slow. Very unprofessional. Its not up to par with the basic work ethic you see in other locations. Its got much worse in the last year and a half or so. I wont be going back.
I have been a shopper at OUAC for many years + in many different states. This location is very hit or miss. I have found some great items here but the staff is great or not. I visited twice in the past week and it went like this- employees at the front door were bringing in items before closing and cursing loudly while doing so. I was about 15 ft away and could still here them- I’m an adult who isn’t generally offended by cursing, but it was off putting for a children’s store especially in earshot of customers/ children. Both times the store had clothes/ hangers/ shoes and toys on the floor making it difficult to navigate with a cart. It seems like the store is busting with inventory because there were racks blocking the shoe bins and behind the counter was a hot mess. I’ve worked in this specific business before so I know how it works. The associate ringing me up (albeit very sweet) was talking on the phone via her EarPods the entire transaction ( about the store and how crazy it was and how understaffed they are) It’s probably why instead of refunding my purchase she charged me. Another associate fixed the issue but I’m now out 42 bucks until the refund clears. I’m grateful that now 42 bucks doesn’t upset my budget but when I was a young mother it totally would have, as I assume it could for many other families. Maybe it’s just growing pains but it will be a while before I go back
This location is by far the worst! They need to seriously get organized! It’s so much packed on these racks that you can’t even look through most of it! Stuff is always on the floor, I went like 3 days straight to see if they were getting organized and I kid you not the clothes I’ve been seeing were in the exact same place like they don’t even clean up! It’s chaos in that place!
Called last week .. rude on the phone. Went in today and they have multiple stipulations … only buys items on certain days, “buy counter” closes at 2:00pm, yet the store is open until 8:00pm ??!!! I even asked if I could drop off today and just pick it up tomorrow and that it wasn’t a rush … NOPE!!!Go to the one on Harbison!!! Everyone is very nice!!!
Lol my brother with autism started crying. At checkout, and I was asked to take him outside the store we are usual customers. But I’m disappointed as in fact it’s a child store a kid will cry at some point and my brother is a child with autism. But I’ll say one the workers was indeed very kind to my mother after my brother was outside with me. (No responds but everyone else got one nice)
This Once Upon a Child is horrible!! I have been going to different locations of the store for 12 years and this by far is the worst one! Since I’m a loyal shopper I make sure before bringing clothes in, to wash the clothes and iron them the night before. The workers pick and chose which items they wanna take based on which clothes they like. I’ve tested this theory by bringing back clothes they told me “didn’t meet their standards” and on my next visit I brought back the same clothes, and just like that they accepted the clothes. I don’t have time for things like this especially after being a repeat customer for 12 years! After today I will not be visiting the Two Notch location.
This location is terrible. They have unprofessional customer service.
They have a sign up all tags with certain colors a percentage off for this special sale this week well after spending 2 hours picking tags with those colors when u get up to the register they took 3/4 of the color tags said that wasnt the season at the harbison one
Very poor service here. I unload 5 boxes of toys, clothes, etc. onto a cart, come back inside, (for a second time) and a man in front of me has stuff in plastic bags, and over 2 bins of stuff. When I come up to sell things, apparently I can only sell 2 bins of stuff. After hurting my back to unload stuff, they tell me this now when I just came inside. Even worse, we cant even put things in plastic bags. Only boxes. Sold 2 bins of stuff, only got around $5. We only can sell gently used items, while there is a stroller inside the store with minnie mouse scratched off of it, and spilled juice all over it. Crib? Leaves all inside with dirt. Wouldnt ever go here again. Get your management straight. Its not good. Employees talking and laughing behind the counter. We can only sell 2 bins of stuff, and they have an option for How many items did you sell today? as 15 bins of stuff. They need to get it together.
Believe the previous reviews - they have horrific customer service at this location. Staff are unprofessional and rude and management defends their actions. Also, they only offer a fraction of what what you would normally get at the Harbison location for the same items. Never again.
Brought in a whole basket of clothes and waited an hour. They offered to take 7 pieces of clothing plus a pair of shoes but only paid me $5 for it. That’s less than a dollar each. And these were all in fairly good condition. They claimed all my clothes were for adults yet the sizes were YOUTH larges. Each piece I bought before selling were around $7 each. But under a dollar? There is no excuse.
If I could give no stars I would. Took in a basket of clothing, with a few pair of shoes and toys. Dropped it off and waited almost 2 hours (dropped off at 5:30, buy counter closes at 6.) Got a text my buy was done just to go back in there and them tell me they passed on everything because it needed to be freshly laundered. Which, they were clean clothes and smelt great so I dont see the issue, they just didnt feel like doing their job. The girl proceeded to tell me I could wash them all and bring them back tomorrow. No thanks, I dont really like wasting time for fun. This place is a JOKE.
I was referred here by my sister and it was my first time selling my sons clothes. The staff were all friendly and welcoming, I didnt wait long and got a text once my order was ready. They gave me a good deal and I mostly all of his clothes from the 2 bins I brought in.
If I could give zero stars I would. The owner is very disrespectful and doesn’t know how to do his job properly. The lady working there admitted that he took my basket of clothes away from her before she finished going through them. They say they only take sets which I have not seen that written any where. And when I did pull out the sets to stuff they were giving back they had pieces to the set. So that statement wasn’t true. The owner had his hand extremely close to my face. New management is needed. I will never go back. Everyone was friendly and nice except the owner. By the employee admitting he took the basket without her finishing shows how SLACK AND UNPROFESSIONAL the OWNER is. I guess I should of looked at the comments and ratings before I came seeming that there are so many negative comments. I WOULD NOT SELL OR BUY ITEMS FROM HERE.
Dont do any type of business here. Too many reasons to list. Youve been forewarned.
The staff was extremely rude and the store itself wasn’t very organized. I went to sell something and she told me what they were gonna give me and I said no thanks I want it back and she said no and handed me the money and walked away !! I asked another person for help and she also said no . She said since I already had the money in hand it was to late even though I said I didn’t want to sell it for that .
Wont sell here ever. The lady is so rude. Was rude to me 3 times in less than an hour. Ended up just leaving and not getting money for my things because I was so annoyed and it wasnt worth it. Just cant believe they treat customers that way. I tried to tell myself, maybe shes just having a bad day... but that is just not right.
The store was clean and well-organized. The items were easy to sort through and prices good. The staff however was completely unprofessional and seemed to not have any passion for their work. The teen staff were were goofing off. The older staff were socializing so loud you can hear their personal conversation and insults. They were speaking about certain items being so disgusting or not of their taste, that I almost left. It was my first time selling and a staff member was helpful and took my items with no problems. But in the afternoon when I came back to pick up the rejected items the staff had really poor attitudes and were not helping for any of the customers. One cashier was above and beyond and returned a ladies purse that she had left on the counter immediately. There were over 7 staff members behind the counter and no one acknowledged the line for checkout. They seemed annoyed they had to interact with us. I wasnt impressed by what I got for my items, and some were actually new just had no tags but rejected. When I told her local friend about my experience they mentioned I should have gone to the Harrison location. The drive would be over 30 minutes but the customer service would be so much better. Im not sure if these two stores are owned by the same store manager/owner, but I hope they do a staffs overhaul on the Two Notch Rd location.
This place is okay to buy from but I dropped off a large amount of stuff to sell back and the girls who did the pricing didn’t even go through some of the bags. I know because they said they don’t buy back items with stains, etc which made sense. However, when I went through the full returned bags, items still had tags on them and some of the dresses weren’t even worn bc they were out of season by the time my daughter grew into them. Go to Harbison to return... maybe they will actually do the job by hey get paid to do.
This place is awesome! They were having an amazing sale when we came in, so extra bonus!! Most of the clothes and items are in near perfect condition. I highly recommend it to anyone on a budget with fast growing kids! We were able to buy a whole new wardrobe for 2 kids for $50! The sale was just amazing!
At times, I was very rudely treated, I had to wait one hour past time given to get money and what was taken seemed to be arbitrary. Also, amount given on name brand clothes does not make trip out to store worth it. Also, I have been asked to bring in name brand clothing and most of the time when I bring it in the people going through the clothes do not seem to know what they are looking at. As a rule, they do not take Classic girls clothes. Also, some clothes That werent accepted one time may be accepted the next time if a different person is making the choice.I used to do business with. Once..... all the time. Now, I seldom go out there. I use the Northeast store.
I love this store so much! Before you go and buy new clothes, shoes, or any baby/children items i highly recommend you come here first! Why buy new when you can buy gently used!? They always really friendly and very well organized. I always buy my babies clothes out of here. I highly recommend if you need anything for children to come here first. The prices are very and i mean very reasonable!
My friend and I came in to sell our clothes at 5:34pm and it is now 8pm and my friends clothes are just now being checked. I didn’t receive a text to say my buy was ready until 7:21pm. There’s 6 employees sitting in the sell area talking and eating chips and on their phones while we’re standing here waiting. I brought in over 100 items all name brand and was offered $46 and was told it’s because of slight wear and small spots and after standing here for such a long time I heard them tell everyone the exact same thing. Definitely won’t recommend anyone coming to this location. The customer service is just as bad as the Harbison location.
Sometimes you are able to find really good deals on new items or find clothes in good condition but lately the quality of clothing has not been much better than what you find in your local Goodwill. You go and trade in your items and they deny you for out-of-date clothing but they still take clothing from others or buy shoes that are not in good condition and are sometimes worse.than the ones that youre trying to sell. I think they should work on reviewing what the the workers should take and not take when doing consignment. I love that they have deals all throughout the year and clearance sales! I wish that they would also apply the sales to some of the toys and shoes which people are looking for deals on.
Literally waited over two hours for them to say that they don’t take clothes inside out. And I gave a basket full and book bag full of clothes that’s name brand . They only gave 7$ to me . The girls that worked there had very nasty attitudes and and when I went to check to see if they were done with my things because the wait time said 30-40 minutes, the girl caught an attitude with me. Again I waited over two hours just for 7$ ? When they could have told me about the clothes being worn inside out they couldn’t take. Very poor customer service here.
I am NEVER bringing my childrens clothes here again. They took over half of my clothes, offered me $12 and then returned my bin with clothes that didnt even belong to me! They basically cheated me out of paying for my clothes by giving me clothes that belonged to someone else. I am NOT impressed at all with them. I have much better success in Harbison. Dont waste your time.
Dont waste your time bringing items here. I dropped off a ton of gently used items, came back at my designated time just to find out they were many hours out from even looking at what I brought. Bernice was incredibly rude and said they didnt have time to take 15 seconds to call me to let me know not to drive 30 min. over there to pick up what they didnt select. I had to make another trip the following Sunday and they took less than 10 items and I didnt even make enough to cover all the gas I spent on the 3 trips there and back. They also dont give you much at all for the items. They were going to give me .70 cents for a pair of brand new sandals. There are many great auction houses around Columbia that are a better option. They take EVERYTHING and only keep 20% and MAIL you a check so you only need to make ONE trip. Once Upon a Child keeps 50-60%. They rip you off!
The prices are fair but make sure you look closely at the used clothing. Some are very worn, and have stains on them. Also, so much clutter and stuff on the floor I could not push my stroller freely through the store because I’m constantly picking things up in the isles like clothes and coat hangers. The employees were loud, cursing and just playing around in the isles while I was trying to get some shopping done while my daughter was napping in the stroller. Lastly when I went to check out there was 4 people behind the desk just doing inventory stuff. I stood there for 5 mins waiting patiently. I was never greeted or told we will be with you shortly. Finally, I had enough and was about to just walk out. I asked the girl who Had been doing inventory in front of me at the register who can ring my things up. She looked at the girl across from her doing inventory and told me someone will be with me in a minute. This was my first time shopping at a once upon a child and it was very disappointing considering all of the good reviews.
Love this place! They have a great selection, nice quality and you can not beat the prices! The customer service is above and beyond too! Im always greeted, asked about my experience and told about the current sales! You will not be disappointed.
One of my favorite places to shop for my baby girl. The clothes are affordable, I especially love the clearance prices(yellow stickers) which can be 50% off or more. There are many nice pieces its just a matter of having time to search through the racks for the best.
Loved the grab a bag for $15 just sucked no pants. Only thing I notice everytime I go you cant never get down the toy isle. Its always a hot mess from other parents not watching their kids. Really nice employees. Love this location.
I will start by saying I love the concept of recycling childrens clothes and toys. However the customer service is terrible. Once upon a child separate outfits and sells them separately; they also do the same with the toys. I bought a Vtech Go Go Smart Wheels toy for my son only to get home and find out that more than half the pieces were missing. The lady behind the register stated we dont buy incomplete toys but we do separate the cars from the tracks. I then asked why if it originally comes together...... got no answer on that one.*Warning* if you visit the store during the weekend it’s complete chaos.
I had a good selling experience. I brought in clean, gently used & current clothing/shoes/swaddles etc and was paid $73 for 77 items. Thats more than I expected so I was very happy. There was a rude lady working the register on 12/26/17 she was African American, in her 30s maybe. I was unclear where to pick up my payment/unwanted clothing and her only statement to me was the line starts in the middle no hello? No how can I help you? so that was annoying. I know the workers put up with a lot of unhappy sellers & get a thick skin but save it for those people.
My experience was very good. A young lady directed me to the sizes for my granddaughter and explained how to find things in the store. When I was preparing to check out another young lady explained the program, discounts and the app for my phone. Thanks for a great experience.
Best place for kids clothes! You may have to do some sifting through the really worn and the worn once outfits. But overall, Ive been extremely happy with all my purchases. Especially when they have 50% to 70% off. Once i got 13 pairs of jeans for my son for $32 !! Selling TO them usually isnt worth it but it is an option.
Its 90 degrees and they only have long sleeved tops out. Its absolutely ridiculous and Im definitely going to spend my money somewhere else. Also noticed clothing with burn marks and boots literally ripped at the seam from top to bottom on the sales floor. Not sure how they made it past the workers.
I can reliably buy my three children an entire wardrobe (8-9 outfits each plus maaaaybe a pair of shoes if I get enough on clearance) twice a year (warm weather vs cold weather) for about $150 total (about $50/child).Ive done this for like four or five years running now. Everything is in great shape, rarely is anything wrong with the clothing (might find an errant missing button on a button down shirt for example). But overall everything is in wonderful shape.Ive gotten fair value for the items I turn it as well (the clothes my kids grow out of). Rinse and repeat year after year. Thanks yall.
I first wanna say I love this place but lately when bringing items in the estimated time given on my receipt has not matched. For example I went in today around 3 my receipt stated an hour and twenty minutes here it is current almost seven and I am still waiting I am definitely unsatisfied and very doubtful that I will bring any other items to the Two Notch Rd location .
Im giving a one star reveiw due to my experience trying to sell. I had never sold here before but I was warned by friends and family to make sure you check the time given then add about a half an hour because realistically thats how long it will take. I come in with a large box and large bag and placed jt on the only spot on the counter where there was room. I stood there for about 5 minutes being glanced at and ignored when an employee finally asks me from the back of their work area if I had sold before and explained to me what to do. There are roughly 6-9 employees standing back there talking laughing and eating lunch, some mightve been on break, I understand and let it go. I dropped off at 2:39 and the kiosk told me 10-20 minutes. When I was handed my receipt I was told 30-40 minutes. I come back and 4:05 to be ignored again when Im asked if I had gotten a text yet and i said no but i have to be at work at 4:45, the lady then asked so whatugunna do, do u want to come back another time? I said yes and she went to tell her manager, im guessing, and she was like so what is she taking it all back and I heard so I responded yes Im sorry I made yall do all that but i dont have time to wait another 30-45 mins. I didnt even get to finished before she turned around and grabbed my stuff to hand to another employee to give back to me. I come from the costumer service industry so i try and cut everybody slack because its a demanding job but this was not okay. The overall tone of the store was like I was an inconvenience to them, and not one time did they apologize or even seem apologetic about the misleading wait time. Will not return to sell here again.
I shop at Once Upon a Child on Two Notch ALL THE TIME. The staff is so friendly and the deals CANT BE BEAT! I have been fortunate enough to find BRAND NEW ITEMS WITH THE ORIGINAL TAGS for a DEEP DISCOUNT at Once Upon a Child! Recently, I bought almost all of my sons middle school uniforms (except the shirts, but Im going to check again before school starts) on the 50% sale for around $30! I have 4 boys and they go through clothes like crazy because they stain, rip and just wear out their items, but with Once Upon a Child, I can afford to buy replacements ALL THE TIME. This location is my favorite, BY FAR, as I always have a great time shopping here. I recommend to everyone! Ive got my sister and niece hooked on Once Upon a Child now too :)
I Love Once Upon a Child. And My son loves it too. I love that the store is well organized, and after washing and ironing the clothes they look brand new, and its one of my sons favorite store that also saves Mommy a great deal of money. We shop here at least 3 times a month.
I absolutely LOVE shopping at Once Upon A Child 😊😊. I always find what I’m looking for and at such great prices. I recently participated in the Stuff a Bag event and was able to get some awesome deals for my daughter!! I just love this store 💕💕
Just moved to Columbia and was excited they had a once upon a child. Untill I walked in and was in the line with 8people waiting and only 1 register open while 8-9 people was behind the register just hanging stuff and talking and laughing. I will never come here again. And when I gave my card to get stamped the girl just drew stars on it and I said umm excuse me how am I suppose to redeem this at another store cause I couldve out stars on it myself and she said thats what I do. Now my card is full and I dont think its valid
Love this place. I never wait long when dropping off thing and Im always finding nice things for my kids there. The staff is wonderful!!
They lost my basket and gave me a small blue one .... mine was big and white. Then they acted like I was wrong. I dont even own a blue basket. I guess now I do. Makes me wonder if they have me back all my clothes I had to sell. 😡
Best Place to go and do a trade in for a whole kids wardrobe. You get a 20% of coupon to use the same day of your trade. If you dont use it, you cant use it any other day. Only on the same day of trade.
We took my daughter clothes in on Monday. They didn’t take a few items (that’s ok) we went to check out and get the rest of out stuff ( one bag) and what they didn’t want the girl that was checking us out was super nice the girl that got us the rest of out stuff took what they didn’t want and decided to donate it!!!! Will not be going back she didn’t even think to say oh I’m sorry just went back to doing nothing!!! Will probably not be going back.
Only reason they get a star from me is because I love the $1 deals when they do have them. However, over the last year or so the staff at the northeast location are extremely rude. They should really look in to hiring a whole new staff. Also if you’re trying to sell any items, good luck because their prices they quote you are insulting to say the least.
Love it. Great prices and good selection. A little picky about buying items. If you have the original hanger, put it back on before you try and sell your clothes. I had brand new items they didnt take because they were not together and on a hanger.
This place is FABULOUS!!!They have virtually everything for your children & a few things for yourself! All of the items are very nicely organized & easy to find. ( a must for me...or I leave.) The prices are wonderfully fair and low. Every piece of clothing or footware have been in very good shape.Since “Once Upon A Child” will pay you for items you bring in, I think people tend to only bring in thing that are in good shape, and that’s GREAT for us!!!They can even “text” you when they have their unbelievable “sales”.....not to mention, ALL the staff are really nice & helpfull.😍
The worst customer service. I bring in my items and they lady brings one in and Im like um oh I didnt know I had yo bring them myself behind counter! Then... I had no idea they had changed to the automatic self service to sign in your items. So Im standing there looking like a fool waiting on service or something. NOTHING!!!!! I stand and stand and stand and nothing. I noticed two of them looking at me and not saying anything. After a while the girl that took my items in says oh you can sign in here on This device 😳. I didnt know! I would not even give a one star.
Once Upon a Child is the best consignment store hands down. Everything is organized by color and size which makes it extremely easy to find what you are looking for especially if you are on a mission. If I am in a pinch I know they always have what I need.
Its well organized and the prices are very reasonable. Im giving it 4 stars bc its always crowed on the weekends so be prepared to wait. The check out lines are long and dont move very fast, depending on the number of registers open.
A great place to get second hand children toys and clothing. Everything is inspected and checked for recalls. I get great deals here. However it is a small very packed store. It can be a little overwhelming and cramped. I suggest going during slow business hours for a better experience.
A lot of items to choose from. The last two times I have been in the stote, I had an employee behind the counter tell at me and the woman behind me standing in line. For no reason, other than to tell me that I was in line. It was confusing. I dropped clothes off to be sold, and they called me saying my items were ready to be picked up and I needed to come down right now to get it. It is 1145 in the morning. I have a job. I told her I would be in to get it after work. She said it would be best if I would just come come get it now. I would understand if I left a ton of stuff, but I dropped off 8 outfits. Apparently, she isnt familiar with people outside if her job working. I dont think I will give them my business anymore.
If I could give less than this I would! I have shopped and consigned many times at this location and I have never been so angry and disappointed. Dropped of clothes at 3:27 this afternoon with an expected wait time of 2- 2.5 hours.... ok that’s fine... I run some errands, shop for an hour in the store with a buggy full of clothes like I do before school starts with my 8 year old son. Time comes and no text like usual, I ask is my stuff ready, no, not yet..... ok I go and sit in my car with it running because groceries and all in the car. Go in again about 20 min later, is my items I drop off ready? No.... I say ok my time said 2-2.5 hours and time has been up. With an attitude girl not in our conversation says who told her that? I say that’s what my ticket says y’all gave me..... she says oh well it’s going to be another 40 min..... ok well I’m going home and come back because I have groceries in the car. I drive home and drive back 15 minutes before they close..... stand there waiting...... and while I’m waiting the manager asks other workers to get up and help because customers are waiting. One of the workers says “ I don’t care let them wait!) they began to exchange words and then the disrespectful employee then in turn with kids in the store begins cussing at her dropping f- bombs!!!! Manager tells her to go then she continues to cuss stating she is calling someone?!?!?! Manager then informs the 4-5 ppl waiting for there stuff to be processed it won’t be completed and apologies. I just waited over 3 hours and drove all the way home came back..... I have a buggy full of clothes I want to buy and I have to come back?!?!?! Are you kidding me?!?! The manager offers “buy bucks” and I know she is trying but really this was so awful! So tomorrow after I work all day have to go back up there get my bin that will probably be so low balled because obviously they have some employees who could care less and I hope the clothes my son tried on are still there? After tomorrow I will never go back to this location! EVER!
I took 40 clothing items in, 9 of which were unworn with the tags still attached. Those items are also still available both in store and online at the store I purchased them from, however it was far past the return date. My son outgrew the items before he could wear them. The store took 34 of the 40 items, they took all of the unworn clothing. I was offered $46.35. When I questioned the process of determining the value, I was told by a very unfriendly store associate that the associates doesnt value the items. The items are entered into the computer and the computer determines the value, then the seller is offered 30% of that price! Um ok, so I looked up the unworn items and although theyre on sale based on my calculations I shouldve been offered an average of $6.99 to $7.99 for just the unworn items. Anyway, I doubt seriously if Ill be returning. Just my opinion it would he best to donate the clothes to an organization that helps women/men with children, homeless shelters or to an organozation that assists with abandoned or foster children etc, Ive done that in the past. That is unless you need the cash for gas a little bit of groceries or pocket change, everyones situation is different. If Im going to give items away for free at least Ill give to those in need and not turn around and have them sold at a higher price.
Last night my husband and I were there looking for a baby swing. We came across one that had a big price tag attached to the bar showing it was 12.00. When we got to the counter to purchase, it was ringing up 30 something instead. Needless to say the associate said the tag was wrong, she jerked it off and stated we couldnt get it for that price. She was kind of rude, she kind of made seem as if we changed the tag ourselves, so we just walked out. We got to the car and I decided to call and speak with the manager. Let me tell you, he wasnt any help at all! On top of that he tried to cover up. First he said that the swing had been sold. I told him I was in the parking lot and that wasnt true. Then he tried to tell me that the janitor that cleans up put it on the swing by mistake. I dont believe that for 1 minute, it wasnt just placed on there, it was tied on there. I told him just to forgot it bc he wasnt any help. No wonder this place has bad reviews. I love the Once Upon A Child in Florenc, nice clean store and selection as well as friendly associates. Just wanted to give an heads up.
Very clean and organized store! My favorite store shoppiing for the kids!Oh one more thing I have been looking for one of the radio flyer big wheels and was also on the wish list and a couple of weeks ago one came in the awesome staff gave me a call and let me know one came in! so they do use the wish list and look at it!!!
Northeast location is very unprofessional they broke my lids to my bins which were brand new and they also they didn’t go threw everything I took in there. I had 20 pairs of Toddler Jordan shoes which were in great condition they wanted to give me $29.00 for them I politely took my items back they are some low ballers. They need a whole new staff at the Northeast location. Also the store is over crowded near the register you can barely get through with you items by the way I Love the Harbison location they are more organized and professional.
This place is great! I get a lot of my nieces stuff here. Always clean and organized! Staff is friendly!
I give it 3 stars because I do like most of the selection of clothing for a cheap price, but minus 2 stars because I have tried several times to sell clothes and they only pick 5 or 6 items from the 50 items I have. Every single time. I have seen some items in the store stained, looking extremely worn, and even torn. And I try to be very careful in the selection of clothing I choose to bring them because, lets face it, kids are rough on clothes. But still nothing. I officially give up trying to sell to them.
Laziest employees ever! I brought in a baby swing to sell and they informed me it didnt work after putting new batteries in it. The batteries they were using were old! I told her it worked bc I had just used it a few days before so she brought the basket of batteries and a screwdriver out and told us to do because she was going on break. It worked for about 3 seconds until the batteries died. No apologies given and they low ball on how much they give you as a seller. Ive purchased clothes here in the past as well. Be careful and inspect for holes and stains. The toys might be missing parts so make sure you inspect them too. Clothing prices arent really a deal bc you can get new clothes on clearance for the same or less.
One of the workers here was very rude. I brought in a bin of clothing that they didnt even go through. The bottom of my bin was still folded up the same way I had it. I only got $10 then I took the exact same bin with the same clothing to the Harbison store and they gave me $30.
The staff was very unhelpful and rude. I was very disappointed. The store seemed nice, but there are too many places to shop in Columbia to deal with a rude staff. I left without buying anything.
The store was clean. Friendly staff. Great selection of clothes and great prices. I will come back next time I need to purchase clothes.
Only giving 1 star because the selection is good. But DO NOT go here if you are wanting to sale clothes, its a waste of time.. I wont be going back..
Shopping at OUAC is always rewarding! The trendy fashions and the price at checkout is unbelievable! Dont forget to keep up with your stamp card moms/dads! Oh! Military families get DOUBLE STAMPS each time! Happy shopping!
I dont like how I tried to pay for my items and noone acknowledged me standing waiting for check out. I got upset and left my stuff there! Smh
Sandra BranhamNowI love this store! Great name brand clothes at fantastic prices!!!! Great clothes for my 10 year old daughter and 3 year old son! We love their half price clearance sales also! brought in clothes here also and got a really nice check! Great staff!!! So glad we got this store in ne cola!
I love this store, especially for younger aged children. Just wish the two notch road location was more spacious!! Sooooo cramped especially during special sale times!
I agree! This place has great deals but the staff is very unfriendly. You would think they would enjoy working in a place where people are usually happy when they find deals. However, they always seem sour, even when you just call.
Spacious, clean, and well-organized. I have found very nice pieces here. I think this location is better than the one in the Harbison Blvd. area.
I love shopping and selling gently used childrens items at Once Upon A Child. They are always friendly and ready to assist me in all my shopping and selling needs.
My experience was I had some very expensive clothing I was offered $12.00 for 6 dresses some had $45.00 on them. The manger was not there. The young lady that waited on me told me that they did not pay for each piece they paid in bulk. I had some more expensive coats and some gamecock items she offered me $17.00 for them. I kept these things separate from the cheaper items. I did my home work one coat was a designer little boy coat it sold for more than $75.00. I know I wasnt going to get what it was sold in the store. I got all of my designer back. I sold a few items that wasnt to expensive. The person that waited on me she told me a lie about the bulk thing. She thought I didnt know any better. I had sold some items before. That day I will give the store a F. Thanks for for asking me to do a review
We have been doing business here for a couple of years and todays visit was awful so I had to post. I took in at least $100 worth of toys in like-new condition and was given $6 for them. Completely unacceptable. We used to get a decent value for our sales but this was absolutely ridiculous. Will not sell here again, ever!
I absolutely love this store.... great prices and name brand items. I gotymy newborn daughter clothes and bed from there...... I love this store
Always love their clothes. Very clean and great selection.
I love Once Upon A Child! The selection and prices of the items sold is unmatched!! The employees are pleasant and helpful!
Great prices on great stuff for kids! Love it!
I am very grateful to have somewhere to take my daughters gently wore clothes and receive cash the same day.
I love this place, great selection and prices. I always find amazing things for my kids!
I love the deals here but the staff isnt friendly at all.. I had a bad experience last year at this store.. long story short they closed the store while I was still inside and they where counting down the register and I couldnt purchase my items they where suppose to hold them for me til the next day.. ok the next day I got there and all my stuff was out back on the racks and where gone..I got a lady apology and was given a $5.00 in store credit..... I emailed the corporate office about this they said they would contact the store owner since it is a locally owned store and I never heard from anyone.. If harbison wasnt so far away I would go to that store instead of this one...
They say they do not take stained clothes. I have found many on there racks. That tends to look like they played favourites.
I highly recommend Once Upon A Child to any parent, grand parent or other family member seeking clothing for children. I really enjoyed my visits !
Super quality. Great prices. Nice and helpful people. A true A+
I went to drop off some toys and clothes for them to buy and I came back to pick up my cash out and I was surprised of what I was offered. I asked twice if all my things were appraised before I left and was told it was but to find out all my stuff was not appraised because the manager called me and told me I was owed more money. It was a inconvenience to me to have to come back and also didnt receive an apology for their mishap that could have been avoided when I had asked about all my things being appraised before I left the store.
I would not recommend it unless youre just desperate to get rid of stuff. Youd do better selling on Facebook or even a yard sale. I know its not consignment but 10 cents for Usborne books that they put $1.50 or more on is not reasonable. They also only offered me $1 for new with tags gymboree jeans claiming they dont consider brand when pricing. If you have time and care about the value of your items then I would go a different route. If you dont care about price and just want the stuff gone then its the place for you.
This location is HUGE! So organized and clean Everytime we go, as well.
They were disrespectful, a rip off,and dont have a good attitude towards customers. You spend a lot of money on the items you take them and they treat you like some kind of drug addict that need change for their next hit. The only clothes and shoes they want is name brands. Who ever over those stores need to clean house in the northeast store.
With the exception of one or two clerks, the customer service at this location is terrible! There is always a wait to check out even when there is no line...always a bunch of employees behind the counter pretending not to notice a customer waiting to check out. While I agree there are tons of great bargains at this store, their business tactics are unethical...Ive experienced on numerous occasions finding an item with its original sales tag on it that cost less than what Once Upon a Child was trying to sell it for (just last week I found a really cute onesie with a clearance tag from Walmart on it charging $2.37 but for some reason once upon a child was charging $4.50 and when I asked how they arrived at their selling price, I was greeted with attitude.) Ive also noticed they are very selective in what they buy back from customers...I tried to sell a brand new baby wipe warmer and they would not purchase it from me because I didnt have its original box...when I asked why they were selling the exact same wipes warmer (also without its original box) that was broken, I was again greeted with attitude. Lastly, it is very hard to navigate the aisles with a baby stroller...I know shoppers bring their children in the store and toys get removed from shelves to be played with..but store employees seem to rarely straighten up afterwards.
I love everything about it n the staff are the best. Everytime I walk in it smell so fresh
The store smells good when you enter and looks organized. Great prices for brand names.
I get money for used clothes and the staff is great. No room for long lines.
Great staff and fair prices. Best one in Columbia by far!
Very rude staff. Act like their busg work is more important than their customers. Very dirty. Lots if dust in store. Dont bring your allergenic children.
I use to go to the store in Cincinnati Ohio to shop for my son.the store here in Columbia is even better...,!☺
Good place for well kept used clothes & childrens items at inexpensive cost.
It was wonderful. Great staff. Greatly organized.
