Busy basically all the time which is my only gripe about the place. Very friendly staff that are willing to point you in the right direction. Ive had good experiences at the deli and seafood area.Products are immense and you can find items you cant find at other stores. I love the Publix meals that they create and use them quite often when Im in a bind but want a nice home cooked meal.

Went in to get 50th Birthday cake. It was very fresh and just right. They were so helpful. Picked up tonic individual bottles of water.

Modern popular Publix tucked into an historic building amid downtown Columbia. Free parking, quite the variety, deli was obviously popular & awesome, the best subs & great prices. Any grocery items you would need, plus soft drinks, beer & wine selections.

The cashiers always ask, did you find everything you need? To which I reply, No but if I had longer, I could find, both what I need and more? The store is neatly stocked and begins with a smorgasbord of cakes and delicacies, followed by a hot bar of grab & go comfort foods. Next comes the deli meats and cheeses, followed by a well-stocked fresh fish & Sushi display. This is simply a synopsis of the first isle. It may be a little pricey, but you are getting what you pay for. Where is the olive display? Oh, its with the deli cheeses. This place has everything! I have been shopping here for over eight years and have never had a problem they could not manage. You can’t go wrong here!

The cashier was helpful and inviting. As a black guy I felt welcome because most of the staff is White. In fact, a White female attendant offered to push my cart from the cashier counter to my car; I accepted her offer. I was dazzled by the friendliness and courtesy I experienced. Kudos to the managers and training of the staff.

Enjoy quality foods I cant find at other Publix markets. Had a few issues with their produce.

Went to Publix today just before the 4:30 downtown traffic, and the predicted heavy rains. The store was packed, people were speaking to each other as they passed, students were emptying the shelves to stock their dorms it was a lot! Through it all the store employees were, AWESOME! They were ALL helping people, stocking shelves, greeting complete strangers as if they truly just glad to be of assistance and in the moment. Thank you for that Publix on Gervais!

The Publix Super Market At Gervais Place Was Excellent. Got a Boars Head Smoke Turkey Sandwich. Unfortunately it wasnt for me. I wanted to show my kindness to another person. The Customer Service was Fantastic and thats why this Publix is one of my favorite super market to shopped. Also their dessert is out of this world. I just love this store and the entire staff of employees. Much kudos to the management staff for running such a Beautiful and Wonderful Store. ❤❤❤❤

I though I had died and gone to heaven! Their Scallops were large and well priced and their Catfish Devine. I will definitely be back because they are also Mask and Sanitizer Conscious! But some patrons were not in masks. Beautiful Fruits and vegetables and wonderful bakery on site!!!Motorized carts on site for those that cant get around easily!!! This store was a JOY!

Nice, clean store in downtown Columbia. The staff is always friendly. When you enter, they offer a sanitized cart. The parking lot at this locations seems smaller than most. The aisles seem more narrow as well. The deli always has fresh meat for sale.

The bakery workers are so polite and so beautiful work. I had to pick an order for a baby shower for a coworker, and the cake was delicious and beautiful!

Not sure why its so small for its location, but it does the job. Do watch out in the parking lot, there are a lot of college students. Might be nice to have a parking garage. Pharmacy staff are super friendly BTW.

Wanted lamb chops none in the cooler butcher was on it right away. Wanted a sandwich from the deli the rep. Was very helpful the sandwich was great. Check out at the register the rep. There always crowded! Id suggest for anyone and everyone stop eating chicken. Stop eating anyones chicken. I heard someone snickles, notfuNNy. Very serious the chicken made to is horrendous. They carry diseases and not fully developed. They are not plucked and can not fly. Each bird could be carrying different disease especially bird mites!!!!

This Publix is clean and have courteous employees. Food looked fresh in every section of the store. Items a little pricey but it is Publix.

I was on vacation in South Carolina for my 9yr olds bday and i ordered a princess bday cake. I ordered the cake red velvet with the red velvet cupcakes and the woman in the bakery made the cake how she felt instead of what i ordered. The cake or the cupcakes were not red velvet and the customizable details i ordered, were not even done to the cake when i picked it up. I will never order a cake or anything from that bakery again. VERY UPSET AND DISAPPOINTED! Never again!

The staff are helpful, and the store is well stocked. The down side is that parking is really tight here, in this downtown supermarket. Plan accordingly.

The produce was beautiful, and the bakery was well-stocked. The buggies were cleaned as we returned them, and everything was tidy and well-lit. We received polite, efficient service. It was a great shopping experience.

Publix is my go to store when I want fresh fruit and the Heath cookies. The store is always clean but parking is tight

This Publix has the worst parking lot that I have ever seen. Very small and cars competing for parking spots. Almost impossible for cars that are leaving to get out because you have cars in both directions waiting on the park and theyre as close to you as possible so that they can get said spot.

Publix has the absolute best produce department of ALL supermarkets. I always get friendly and fast service no matter which location I visit.

Just came from Publix Gervais Place (Vista) and all the employees were masked. But a huge number of customers werent. They have a sign on the door saying the city has a mask ordinance so you need to mask up. I called the management on duty afterwards. I said if you arent enforcing this are you enforcing rules like employees must wash hands after a bathroom break? He didnt answer that and said they had no authority to enforce this ordinance. He said the city Fire Department needed to endure it. I said if someone walked in without a shirt you would enforce that. He said yes but they only enforce public policy. I said in the city or is public policy. He seemed quite frustrated by that observation. He also said there were masks available at each department in the store. If that is true he is either confused or never on the floor because I saw none. Nor any signs that would indicate they were available.

I love the customer service. The chicken is delicious if you ask them not to double bread it. So if you ever wonder why the fried chicken can be to salty is because its double breaded. No double breading! The chicken tender sub is to die for.

This is an awesome supermarket. Small but well-organized with very efficient check-outs. Apparently good management. Delu and bakery have great lunch options. Recommend the sushi, avocado rolls and seabreeze salads.

Publix is the ChicFilA of supermarkets always. The inflated prices go to pay for the overall experience, happy employees and availability of specialty items. This particular location is a bit more condensed version of the chain but they had the bourbon marinated fresh salmon I needed. The checkout line was quick and the cashier was so kind and engaging (I cant remember his name but he had on a beard net and had a fresh anime tattoo on his left arm that we visited about). You can usually get in and out and feel oddly conflicted about how it is you paid a little too much for groceries but still feel happy and content!

Friendly,clean,nice employees and exceptional management team.You can eat off the floor.This is where I would spend my last dollar(s)😊

I really like going to Publix when I have to be in downtown Columbia, even though it is a little pricey for me. Id really love for a Publix to be built in the Lower Richland area, but thats probably just wishful thinking on my part 😕 I got almost everything that I needed B1G1 free, only the milk and bakery bread were not on sale! The store was very busy but everyone, customers and staff, were very friendly and helpful. When I was ready to checkout, there was an open cashier and I didnt have to stand in line.

I LOVE Publix but I HATE their prices 😒. I guess you get what you pay for so Ill continue to shop at THIS particular Publix. Im normally a Walmart shopper but on my work days I shop Publix. THIS particular Publix ALWAYS has fresh looking fruits and veggies when I visit (at least 2 days per week). I can ALWAYS find what Im looking for and they have a GREAT variety of healthy foods. The store itself is always clean and Im generally greeted when I walk in the store. Whenever Ive asked for help an associate, whether it was their area or not, always helped! Its cool store and only 7 mins from my job. AWESOME!
