Ive gotten multiple bike fittings from John, and both times were great experiences. As someone new to cycling, he took the time to explain concepts, listen to my feedback on adjustments, and also made sure my secondhand-purchased bike was ready to ride. John is super patient, knowledgeable, and friendly; Ill definitely be returning to 90+ Cycling for my future cycling needs.
I went to see John for a cleat fitting on new shoes. I mentioned that I have left knee pain only when riding. He noticed several possible causes and each time he made an adjustment (cleat position and shoe shims) and then took my feedback while I pedaled. He noticed that I was reaching too far forward (neck pain) and made that adjustment as well.I went out for a ride a few days later and half way through my ride, I had to stop and text him that the changes were amazing. I had more power in my pedal strokes and no neck pain. With my left foot making complete contact on the pedal my speed increased significantly and the effort on hills was much less. It kinda felt like a miracle! Thank you John!
John is the absolute best! He has been there for me after bike crashes, last minute tune ups before races and the perfect fitting. I was a complete novice and he took extra time to answer all my questions. He and everyone at 90+ cycling are the definition of excellence
Just got home from a 2.5 hr bike fitting. Yeah. 2.5 hours. Because thats how serious John takes it. Theres a reason his shop is full of bikes. He is legit. This is a small, by-owner business which provides personal one-on-one bicycle service. This aint Race Pace and it aint Bike Doctor. He doesnt sell bikes, he takes the bikes the other guy sells and makes them rideable. I needed a bit fixed after a crash and Bike Doctor told me, Its Covid. Were busy. 3 weeks. John says... Ill call you tomorrow. Probably ready in 3 days. Quality work, competitive prices. Good guy.
Went for two bike fits. John does a great job making you comfortable on the bike. He checks everything. On top of helping with a proper fit he checks your posture and pedaling mechanics and provides advice for any improvements. I notice a huge difference in how I feel on the bike. Thanks.
I found this place online while i was looking for a bike for my wifes birthday. The gentleman i spoke with (whos name I unfortunately cant remember) came out where gloves and a mask (loved the safety) and showed me each of the bikes we had spoke about on the phone. He was extremely intelligible about all the different bikes and even though i didnt find the one I wanted there, he gave me an excellent recommendation to find one that my wife has now fallen in love with.Based off of all the info he gave me, I would fully trust his recommendation again and really look forward to getting my own bike from them.Amazing store, easy to find, great service all around.
Went to John for a saddle fitting and had a good experience. He is knowledgeable and very easy to work with. He answered all my questions and helped me get into a saddle that works well for me. Its obvious that he enjoys what he does for a living!
I dont do this that often, but after Performance Bikes closed down, I hadnt found a bike shop that I felt comfortable with. I think I found one now. Great service even during this pandemic. Gave great advice and guidance to someone that doesnt live and breath all the nuances of cycling. John really knows his stuff and my bike is in a lot better shape due to his recommendations.
Found my bike shop. Took my bike here to fix an issue. The owner was persistent and kept me up to date on his progress and was able to fix the problem at a reasonable price. Excellent and friendly service. Highly recommend.
Awesome experience. They fixed a pedal issue ..on the spot. Made my 8 year old very happy. Good people !!!
Never leave reviews, but had a bike fitting with John and it was a great experience. Personable and very informative. He was able to answer questions for me without making me feel like a total novice, even though I am and really cared that the bike fit me to a T.
John is an awesome Instructor and this is evident not only in class but with his students. He will find both your strengths and weaknesses, explain them to you and then help you begin to make both of them them better. He wont let you give anything less than your best, and if you dont know what that is he will certainly help you figure it out before the class.Cheers,B.
I don’t leave reviews often, but after the awesome experience and service I had at 90+ I needed to. Great bike shop with knowledgeable and personable service, the owner even named my bike “skittles” lol
These guys are the REAL DEAL... Super professional, efficient and just plain AWESOME. Thank you John for your stellar service. Ron G.
90 + Bikes is great. I took 2 bikes in for repair and tuning. John Hughs owns the shop and did a really good repair and tune on my Vintage Cannondale Mountain Bike (almost 3 decades used) My Mountain Bike had been in 2 well known shops in Columbia MD but my bike was returned with some new parts but the Gears still slipped.John Hughs evaluates my bike in the parking lot and gave me his opinion on what was needed to get my bike usable again. It’s not safe to ride a bike when your gears slip. When I picked up my bike it rode like new. No slippage and the new tires I elected to get helped the feeling of a New Bike (overlook the dings and scratches on the Frame; the bike has been used aggressively). The other bike was my wife’s Trek Mountain Bike. This bike just needed a good tuning and that was what it got.Very pleased with the repairs. I would whole heartedly recommend 90 + Cycling on Red Branch Rd.Forgot to mention; the turn around from drop off to pick up was two days.EXCELLENT SERVICE!!! - 5 STARS 8)Bill Schwartz
Excellent classes - I recommend them to anyone I know who is interested in cycling. Friendly instructors ride along so you can see what to do, but also come around to give individual advice and encouragement. Whether indoor or outdoor, they are able to keep the workouts challenging and tailored to various goals. I was able to see definite improvement after a few weeks.
John has been taking care of my bikes for a little more than 2 years now. I like how he is just as careful and concerned for my steel commuter as he is about my road bike. I took the commuter in on Monday afternoon and it was ready by Wednesday afternoon - and that included ordering parts. It now rides (and brakes) like a dream. From an education point of view, John is the master at explaining everything from cycling technique to road etiquette to bike maintenance.
Had a bike fitting with John the owner, super knowledgeable and personable. Ive owned the bike for awhile and John picked up on multiple items within the first minute. I feel much more engaged with the bike after being dialed in.
Best bike store ever! Fast thorough and friendly high quality services!
Ive had two bike fittings here and both have been first rate very thorough. John is also a great mechanic.
John and company’s fantastic customer service, attention to detail and a passion for bikes and biking make me happy that I have a great option now that Princeton Sports is closed.
Great shop helpful staff
A very nice person and helpful thank you!
The owner is super nice, very knowledgeable. I will definitely be back.
Friendly, focused, and effective. Great to have local businesses like this.
