I had what was determined to be a manufacturers defect in the original spec’d rear wheel which caused 4 spokes to break w/out cause during the past 6 months. The team at RP worked with Trek and me to arrive at a great solution to replace both wheels. The guys who were responsible out of the Columbia location were Steve, Nick, and Hans. Thank you. I continue to be a loyal, satisfied customer and recommend ANY of the Race Pace locations to those who need bicycle sales/service.

Excellent selection and service. Unparalleled bike fitting service. Advice for novice road cyclists making their first big purchase - make sure you are clear on the type of riding you plan on doing i.e. racing or endurance, your bike fit will be done accordingly. I wasnt clear on what I wanted and at 56 I ended up with a size 54 Caad 13 with a 70mm stem at 17 degrees. Now that Im more experienced, I realize that the bike was probably a bit too big and modified to fit me as an endurance rider, rather than racing, which was a preference I failed to state.

My goodness, I was looking for an extra large Trek Fuel Ex mountain bike and noticed online they (Race Pace) had them in stock. I worked with a very nice staff member named Steve and he was able to secure the bike for me over the phone with a deposit. He was extremely helpful and made me feel valued.Upon arrival to collect the bike, I was able to test it out and ensure it fit me well. I was upgrading from a previous Trek and was offered a very fair trade-in price. Another staff member helped to answer all my questions and was so enthusiastic about the sport.The whole process took less than 20 minutes and I walked away with a beautiful new MTB. I highly recommend this shop.

Great bike shop, very attentive and knowledgeable staff. Has almost every bike accessorie you would ever need. More importantly, they have the bikes you need. Dont settle for a big box store bike. Its an important investment and these guys can fit you for whatever type of riding you want.

This was my second purchase from Race Pace. Prices are comparable to anywhere else but the staff is incomparable. These folks go out if their way to make sure the bike is a good fit for the rider and their goals. Theyve never tried to upsell me to something I didnt need and theyre happy to answer questions.

Hard for me to give Race Pace a two star review since the people who work there are always friendly and eager to help, but this bad review has nothing to do with their customer service but their quality work on bicycles.During a race one spoke of my road bicycle broke and I took it for repair, I picked up the bicycle and left for vacation without checking the wheel I guess I just trusted their mechanics. After climbing 4500 feet on the way down I noticed an odd shake on the wheels when going 25+ mph I later realized that they replaced the spoke but never brother to align the wheel properly.I just cannot get my head around the idea that I almost crash at very high speed because someone did not do their job properly.

Theyre so great here. Weve been coming here since 2015. They helped my son choose his first big-boy bike before he could even balance. Just tonight I brought in a huge honkin ebike for a tube change and the tech walked me through the whole thing on the spot. Ive never been looked down on for not being a big cyclist, just a hobbyist.

Went to race pace for a fitting because of leg pain. Thought the saddle size might be wrong. Turns out the saddle was just angled way too high as stock. The person at the store fixed the issue and cleared me to go. He didn’t charge me a single thing for the service (which would normally be $130). I am definitely coming back to support the store and help the employees.

Changed my review from 5 stars to 3. Purchased two bikes recently at the Columbia store. The first visit was great and Brian was very friendly and helpful. The second and third visits to pick up the bikes were a much worse experience. The woman working behind the front counter has an attitude, and the two mechanics we encountered were quite arrogant and condescending. I read through other reviews and others have had the same experience. I was sent an email to provide feedback about my experience and I have yet to receive any response back. I will choose a different shop for my next purchase based on my experience at Race Pace Columbia.

First, the guy who helped me in the service department was arrogant and rude. 7 weeks turn around for a basic tune up?!? Hire more people.Second, the item I desired to purchase which was hundreds of dollars, was told...come back in a couple of hours, we are busy.Wow. From a person who is passionate about bikes and invests plenty of money in them; after this experience I will not be back to this shop.

As someone whos resume is filled with bike shop experience from my earlier years, I know that not all shops are created equally. Ive worked at some great shops, so when I left the bike world, I had a high standard for any shop that I was going to do business with. I had a great experience at Race Pace yesterday. I had a big ride coming up and needed my brakes adjusted on my bike. Initially, the gentleman, told me that Id have to leave it and come back Tuesday. I understood since I just walked up and didnt have an appointment. Sensing I felt a bit dejected, another employee motioned my back to the service area and fixed my brakes in a matter of 10 minutes. He was kind and professional and I really appreciated him accommodating me. It made all the difference in my ride and I felt much more confident. You have a satisfied customer. Thank you.

They are safe and observe pandemic safety procedures. If for service on your bike, you must go around back; I didnt know that. A long wait time (days), but, the staff is courteous. Even a simple fix service may take several days but, many people are trying to get outdoors these days; I am willing to be patient and wait.

I was helped by Mark today and he was great! During a global pandemic, I was surprised by the incredible customer service that was provided. Of course, I wasn’t able to test ride (global pandemic and all), but Mark was able to fit me while practicing social distancing. I am also able to return the bike if I decide it isn’t right for me! Highly recommend this location!

I took my tri-bike here thinking professionals would be able to pack up and ship my bike for a move across country. However they significantly damaged my front fork and chipped a lot of the paint. Never pay them to pack up and ship your bike.

I had an issue with my hub on a wheel today. I brought it in and they looked at it pretty fast and fixed it (literally took the guy 3 minutes) but did not bother to let me know the cost beforehand. I felt gouged for being charged $30 for 3 minutes of work without being given a heads up. I am curious if this is protocol for service at Race Pace.

I just went to your store looking to purchase 2 bicycles and I am disappointed in the service I received. We never spoke price range, so for your employee to immediately direct me to the cheapest bikes without even asking me what I wanted was very confusing to me. He doesn’t know what I am looking for or my price range at all to tell Me when I am browsing: “no those bikes are $2200 hundred let me show you the cheapest ones”. That I did not like. My son is disable so safety is the number one priority here. I am a client. I got bicycles from you guys years ago. I left very disappointed. That was completely unacceptable. What a shame!

I cant say enough good things about Race Pace Bicycles. I bought a bike online (bad decision on my part) and it arrived without the front axle nuts. I spent over three weeks trying to get a response from Schwinn about the missing parts, and finally gave up their customer service rep deserted me mid-interaction. I went to Race Pace and they helped me get the needed hardware the same day. They also pointed out some damage to the axle treads that they were able to repair on site. They were knowledgeable, efficient, extremely polite, and just all around very helpful. It pays to use a local business with a good reputation, and Race Pace will be the only place I go for bike needs from now on. Thank you!

Bought my trainer here. The stores follows pandemic procedures to keep the customers safe. Assisted by a person who was very explanative with all the questions I had. Finally, if you get a trainer but wont hear the knob click, unscrew the knob and fill in the tyre pressure as per manufacturers recommendation and try turning the knob without applying any pressure inwards. If you still dont hear the click, try contacting the store or the trainer manufacturer.

I now all ready the bike information it is online, I’m just trying to see and feel the bike before spend 2900$ it is no a toy from dollar tree!! Thanks for nothing. Service so bad, trying to pick up two bikes at the same time, now looking for other store.

I bought a new adventure bike and got a superb fit, and I could not be happier. Steve Borkoski was a tremendous help in selecting some component changes to really tailor the bike for my planned use, and the build he did was awesome. And Don Freesland did an amazing job on a custom fit. Ive always thought of myself as pretty good when it comes to bike fitting, but Don made me feel like Im in first grade on that front. All in all, I am extremely pleased and happy to be riding my new bike!

According to their website they had the bike I want in stock. Went to the store on 7/12 to buy it. A woman, who wasnt polite, told me that they have it but its not assembled and I have to pay $100 deposit to have it assembled so I can try it. Paid the $100 deposit and she told me theyd call me in 3-4 days when its ready to go get it. A week went by and nobody called me. Went to the store on 7/19 and they had no idea where the bike is (much less have it ready).

I just spoke with Tom on the phone about either fixing or replacing a bike for trail riding. I can honestly say it was the single most pleasant, succinct, and friendly customer service experience I’ve had. It seems crazy to leave a 5 star review over a phone call but it’s not. Such welcoming customer service from someone so passionate about their trade is sorely lacking in today’s marketplace. Terrible customer service. Wandered around the store for a bit, was unable to get anyone to help me. A few employees made eye contact and went the other direction.I called after leaving to ask my question, and the employee kept talking over me when I tried to speak. I cant deal with that kind of uselessness, so I hung up.I know how hitches are installed, I told you that wasnt an option in the beginning of the conversation. Whats the point of talking to you if you don’t listen to what I say?

The guys at Race Pace found a better bike, let me borrow the pedals I needed, and made sure everything was fitted. Race Pace had the best prices around and I was able to extended my rental over the phone. This is one of the best bike shops I have been in! Keep up the great work!!

Hands down, this is my favorite bicycle store, ever.Staff is always helpful, they understand weird stuff like a 1970s-era 3-speed bicycle I wanted to tinker with. They repair stuff efficiently (although they can be pretty busy in peak season).When I was ready to buy a good road bike, they measured me carefully, listened to my criteria, and suggested two or three bicycles to try. They encouraged me to experience them to see which I liked. I alternated between two of their bicycles repeatedly before I chose one. Each time, they patiently spun pedals onto the cranks so I could ride.Compared to other stores, I always felt they were being totally transparent with me.Performance Bicycle is also a competent store, but Race Place is always my first choice.

Here are the details about my experience with Race Pace bikes. Good selection. Sales person tried to show a customer the most expensive bikes first. The cheaper models are in the back. Comment from sales person: “ not sure I have your size”. I was ready to walk out. Surprise, surprise he suddenly found the right size cheaper bike. What is up with that.? We decided to buy the bike. Be careful that is when the up selling continues. The bike stand was $22 although it was already attached to the bike. A water bottle holder $32, because it is light. My advice: buy all those accessories from amazon. Now the helmet. The young sales person showed us the most expensive versions first. Do you see the trend? My advice: be careful for the up selling. Do NOT buy any additional warranties. Forget about the tire package!! Just a rip off. Race Pace Bikes: please treat your customers with more respect. Stop the up selling. Bike riders are a well-educated crowd and you don’t have to treat us like the used car department of Antwerpen Motors on Rt 40....

Best place near me - by far, for mountain bike parts and support. These guys are absolutely fantastic, all around.The idea that someone mentioned Performance Bike as a better alternative is hilarious. Not even in the same league. I cant continue to describe that comparison without stooping to a lower level, so Ill just leave it at that.

I am not bashing Performance Bicycles - Im really not. I went to Performance first and spent two hours with their staff trying to find just the right bike for my son. After lots of patient and professional help from Performance, we left and indicated wed be back the following weekend. In the interim, a couple of friends at work suggested we also look at Race Pace in Columbia. We decided to hit Race Pace, and then Performance again.After an extremely detailed measurement and fit of my son, Race Pace recommended 4 bikes in my sons price range. My son wanted to ride all 4. Race Pace didnt bat an eye - they carefully set up each bike for his ride and let him take the bikes out. When he had it narrowed down to two bikes, they let him go back out for back-to-back test rides of the bikes. All the while, no pressure at all. In the end, after several hours of working with us, my son narrowed it down to one bike that he is ecstatic about post purchase.See? Im not bashing Performance. Performance was welcoming and professional. But our experience at Race Pace was on a much, much higher level of service. Race Pace did an outstanding job of making us feel like a highly valued customers all the while exerting ZERO sales pressure. Rare experience at Race Pace - excellence. 10/10 would recommend to others.

My wife and I have had a great experience at Race Pace. It is unusual to have such a great shopping experience.I use to race road and mountain bike more than 20 years ago, but havent kept riding. I have wanted to start riding again for​ a long time, so I was excited when my wife suggested we go get bikes. We shopped at several other stores, but Race Pace had the most knowledgeable staff and took time to help select the right bike and right gear.I really appreciated how there was no pressure to buy, only a willingness to make sure our venture back into biking went well. The patience they showed was amazing.We have stopped back several times now and every time they have remembered my wife, my son and my name.When you stop by say hi to Tom for us. (He really knows his stuff)

Columbia store: Tom must have his doctorate in bicycle information technology and explanationability 😁. He knew ALL of the various types, pros, cons and asked the right questions in order to allow you to make the best choice for yourself. He sold nothing, pushed nothing, just showed and explained so we understood. Then...Noah helped me install the bike rack. He was just as awesome!. Oh, and we spent less than we planned. If you are looking for a bike, go there now.

Every time I shop here, someone is able to help me pretty quickly. I have purchased a bicycle rack and cleats/shoes at this location. When I bought my rack, they were really thorough to check that my car didnt need extra parts for a proper fit. When I was looking at where to ride, they gave great suggestions and maps. I like that they dont try to just sell you the most expensive item. They are able to come up with cheaper alternatives based on your budget and based on what product is just as good.

They properly measured me for my road bike, although I already knew I needed 58, and then built up a model I was interested in so I could take it for a spin. Another place I visited that stocks Trek told me that I was a 56 because they run big, which turned out to be anything but true as I was significantly more comfortable on the proper size.Prices on accessories can be a bit high but thats going to be unfortunately true of any shop like this. Its just a lot cheaper to order stuff like that online.

I started coming here after my other bike shop closed. I have bought numerous things here and the staff is knowledge and nice. I bought my bike from my other bike shop and this is the first time I had anything done to my bike at Race Pace. I needed a minor rear derailleur adjustment which took a total of a minute and a half. I took it for a quick spin and came back into the store to let the mechanic know it was good. He then said that would be $20. If I would have know the price I would have done it myself and avoided the trip. Never again will I come here for any of my biking needs.

I went to a couple bike shop / stores and the quality of help and information provided at Race Pace Bicycle was by far the best of all places I went to. Everyone really helps as far as finding the right bike no matter what your skill level is. They aren’t there just to sell bikes they are there to help in every way possible such as asking what will you use the bike for, do you go biking with family, friends, or just yourself. Im a super anxious first time full-suspension mountain bike owner, though not new to biking or bikeshops. I came here Saturday 5/25 with the intention of buying a hybrid bike to replace the Sporting Goods Store bike that I had since high school. I was looking to finally graduate to a real deal bike brand, and Tom was extremely helpful and knowledgeable to explain the differences in models, components and get me directed toward a bike in my price range with all the features I was looking for, without trying to oversell me on things a novice like me would not need. Lucky for me, they were running a sale for memorial day that saved me a fair bit on the model I chose. The experience I got at Race Pace was something you cannot get at Box stores and online retailers. I walked away educated and happy with my purchase. Even though they were extremely busy with the sale running, I did not feel rushed. I was so happy with my experience we came back the next day and bought a bike for my wife. This place gets you excited about cycling, no matter what your skill level. I will be back many times in the future.

Great mechanics and carry great bikes. But, pricey and floor staff seems to have an attitude, often acting anoid when asked questions - Ive learned to have to ignore that
