There bookstore is nice but the derelict mall is, well, Scary!

One of my favorite large bookstores! I so wish we had one closer to home, but its worth the drive!Very clean and organized and the staff was nice. I also really like the little white papers throughout the store with little notes about a book on the shelf!

Coming here is like seeing an old friend. To me, its the only reason to come to what was once known as Richland Fashion Mall. Great book selection and their Starbucks has the best peanut butter cookies. Of the two major book outlets in the immediate area, this one is really the best. Ever since the Harbison location closed this is one of my go to places to either purchase a book or to just chill with a white chocolate mocha. May your doors never close.

Clean and fully stocked. Staff is attentive and made sure I found what I was looking to buy. Shout out to Bridget for great customer service and good vibes.

From the Harney & Sons tea to the 5 books we purchased, we had a great experience! EVERY EMPLOYEE we encountered was pleasantly spot-on. The store is well lit, clean & inviting.

I so enjoy shopping at the Barnes & Noble at Richland Mall. Not only do they have a great selection but their staff is top notch! They know their books and inventory and they can always help you find what you need. They are always very pleasant and customer oriented. May they always stay here as a brick and mortar business. Barnes & Nobles bookstore should have been elsewhere located in Sandhills or Harbison. I have been purchasing books from Barnes & Nobles for years and I mean years. And never have I ever been tolded that they were hiring and when I do visit the bookstore I am being monitored by the employees. Im a big fan of Barnes & Nobles, but wouldnt it be even greater to get employed at a bookstore where I buy books although I could have spent my money elsewhere, but my mind and heart keeps leading me back to Barnes & Nobles bookstore.

I am a book geek so I love bookstores. Barnes and Noble is one of my favorite stores. The layout, the atmosphere, the staff all make it an enjoyable experience.

The last refuge for the minds in the Columbia area. While most stores have closed around it, I thank goodness it has remained strong.

The store and cafe is always very clean and organized. It’s usually not crowded whatsoever since this mall is no longer in full operation and bookstores are a dying industry which makes it a great place to go study/work. The staff is always welcoming and helpful. There shelves always seem to be fully stocked with multiple sales usually going on at tables in the front. They have a lot of cute office/stationary supplies; some are a bit pricey depending on the brand but they carry affordable brands as well.

Books, books, and more books. I would like to see a chair or two. Waiting on my granddaughter after walking around for at least 30 minutes I needed to sit, not in the cafe.

I really love this bookstore. The staff are really nice, and help me find books. Me and my siblings like to go here (especially on rainy days and no school) and it has a very nice children/teen section. All of my favorite books are there, so I like how they always have something new at Barnes and Nobles. Not only does it have books, but it has toys based off books, vinyls, and other things people enjoy. Very quiet atmosphere, so GO TO BARNES AND NOBLES TODAY!

What can I say. Its a Barnes and Noble. Theres a coffee shop with smiling Baristas and great coffee. Theres employees always around to help you find what youre looking for. The childrens section is a kids paradise and the customer service is that of people who love their job. Its whats expected of this franchise and this one gives you what you want. 5+stars

Great location..

I have been frequenting this Barnes and Noble location for almost two years now and have never had a negative experience. Each time I visit the employees greet me warmly and ask if I need help finding anything even though they know Im there all of the time. I start my visit off with a hot beverage and/or treat from the cafe which are always delicious without fail. The store is always clean, well-organized, and homey. While it is true that you could purchase books on Amazon for a cheaper price, I have often found that the books do not arrive as I had expected when shipped - damaged, marked on, or a different edition than what I ordered. As someone who likes to display books once Im done reading them, I enjoy being able to pick out the best copy while perusing. Not to mention its much more relaxing and entertaining than clicking a few buttons on a computer. Although it is true that the mall itself does not presently have a lot of open businesses at the moment, that has no impact on the bookstore itself as it has its own outdoor entrance right off of Forest Dr. In a perfect world someone would purchase the mall and revitalize it, but Barnes and Noble cannot be faulted for that. In fact, I am happily surprised they have stuck around in that space for so long given the lack of popularity surrounding the building. Hopefully their persistence will eventually help draw back some business to the rest of the mall. In the meantime, Im still happy to support them while they are here as they are the closest bookstore to me and they have never given me any reason not to. I plan on visiting many more times in the future!

Very nice store and great people. However PLEASE get a few shopping carts for your older customers. My mother uses a cane and cannot carry books and use her cane. Just a suggestion that I think your customers would appreciate.

I adore this place! Please come spend your money here so they dont go out of business! Its really nice to have a book store where you can browse and have coffee or danishes. Its a great meeting spot for chatting with friends or new people youre getting to know. I love buying books and other gifts for my nieces here especially at Christmas time.

Selection, a mammoth bookstore and found exactly what I wanted.Some staff ignored me as I approached a group of 3. Only one check-out with a line.

This store was fully stocked and I turned my mama loose in there (for her birthday) - we had the best time. Thank you for not closing due to all the technology.

Love how you can call and have a book placed on hold for up to 24 hours. Courteous and helpful staff. Even though I have a Kindle I find myself still buying physical books from here because of the discounts and good atmosphere.

We really enjoy our trips to this bookstore. My little one loves the children’s area- there are so many books to choose from and the train table is always a huge hit! The employees are really nice and are happy to help you find what you are looking for. There is a cute little cafe inside and I also enjoy buying little gifts from Barnes and Noble.

The staff is always friendly and helpful. Those who assist with the children events are amazingly patient! The childrens section is always clean and easy to navigate. Bathrooms are always clean as well. My son and I absolutely love this store!!

Found Bibles for many age groups for Christmas. Also lots of toys. I was very pleased with this experience.

My only real complaint is that its so far away from where I live. Ive only been here a few time, and the most recent time was to find a book that neither Books-A-Million or Second & Charles had - Barnes had it for me right then and there, even went to fetch it from their stock.

There really just arent that many bookstores left like this Barnes & Noble. You smell coffee, the crisp pages of books, and freshly baked cookies when you walk in the door. Its a huge bookstore, with a kids area decorated just as I remember it from when I was a kid. PLUS: They still have Harry Potter parties/events that are free for everyone!

Im into puzzles and they have some really good ones. Of course books, books, and books. Theres games and all kinds of things.

It had a section of books called Cozy Mysteries and they had the book I was looking for. The place has a lot of Windows in the one area and it brightens the place up even on rainy days. Their Café is a decent size and comfortable.

You know this is an awesome book store.My only negative comment is about Starbucks in this book store. The service received was personal and professional - but close to $20 for four coffees? No wonder so many Starbucks around the country have been closing.

Greatest customer service I’ve ever received at a bookstore!!!! Not only are they knowledgeable about the books they sell they are also passionate about them. Eric was amazing and fixed the isssues with my nook, I’m so sorry I can’t remember the other associates name but she was fantastic and friendly and wasn’t afraid to ask for backup to ensure my problem got solved!!! I love this store!!!!

I have a membership here, and I definitely recommend getting one for any bookstore you frequent. Its harder that ever to always find what youre looking for in store but the merchant usually has what you need online and member shipping is free. Very worth it for only $25 a year if you really adore reading.
