The Tabacco Merchant is like a home away from home. The atmosphere is extremely friendly & welcoming. They have a pretty diverse humidor and selection of sticks. Prices are Fair, and the food next door is great.

My husband was looking for a Java Mint cigar, this was the only Cigar shop we called that had the Java Mint.

They have/had a box of Olivia Master Blend 3 that I havent been able to find in years. Also like the new Olivia barber poles. I like supporting local vendors as much as I can.

Good selection in the humidor. The staff are very nice and welcoming. They have a large selection of beer and wine and an inside and outside smoking area as well as a billiard room. My friend and I spent a Friday evening here while on vacation and came back on Sunday to watch the game. The mountain of fries and the fried pickles are highly recommended. Its hard to find a place to watch sports, smoke your favorite cigar, and a have a cold beer. Tobacco Merchant allowed me to enjoy all 3 tonight. Will be back soon.

Its a solid spot to find good craft beer and excellent cigars. Dont expect the world because they normally only have one bartender on so if its busy be considerate. Good people good place. Show some love

This place is exceptional. Al was amazing with our boys cuts and they look as handsome as they ever have after a cut!Amanda is an angel! My first straight razor cut and she has set the bar high! She spared no detail or step in the process. Beyond the cuts the experience and kindness they showed made us feel like we were home with family.Stop going wherever you go and go here. Great place to sit down and relax. One note, you can smoke and drink wine/beer inside, but not liquor. Liquor has to be taken on the patio if you’d like to smoke.

Excellent selection of pipe tobacco, tobacco pipes, cigars, and accessories. Comfortable and well-appointed lounge, as well. The owner was personable and knowledgeable. My only hesitancy about this place was the guy hanging around acting like he was best friends with every person who walked in and followed us around... hope he isnt a regular.

Fair prices. Knowledgeable staff that isnt pushy and gives great recommendations. They host decent events.

This place has an incredible cigar selection, largest in Columbia. Plus they have over 100 of the best beers in the world The staff was extremely helpful. Everyone knows everyone and they talk to anyone new. Went to their cigar event and it was incredible. Got all kinds of free cigars You have to visit this place!

They keep a good stock on my favorite cigars from Oliva, H Upmann Land Bank, Montecristo White Series, to Champagne anniversary. Friendly staff, and great atmosphere.

This is a great place to hang out and relax. Enjoy many of the leather comfortable chairs and sofa, watch what you want on many of their different TVs, play pool...only $1. Grab a nice cigar from their beautiful humidor room. Sit outside if you prefer on their nice covered patio. Play cornhole. Thursday-Sunday they serve food. This is a good place to go relax by yourself or if you want to sit and chat many spots for that as well. Bill, the owner, is a very creative man. He made all the amazing decor you will see throughout. From lights to tables to the wall creations. Also if you like to collect cigar boxes they always have a fun selection and average price is $3.

Employs a fat lazy man named Trey Seamus Simmons that has nothing better to do than to talk down on other small businesses in the Columbia area..even goes as far to talk down on small businesses that failed. Very rude. Would never recommend this place if theyre going to have people like him working there. Just imagine what the customer service is like. Take your money elsewhere that employs real men who respect other people and other businesses instead of talking down on businesses that they have never visited.

Good selection, nice atmosphere, but terrible service.Walked in to the Tobacco Merchant while waiting for a movie with my fiancee. Figured wed kill some time by checking the place out and maybe smoke a cigar. Went straight for the humidor; we werent asked if we needed help, but the bartender, who seemed friendly enough, at least greeted us.Selected a cigar, went to the check-out counter, and the guy tending it (not the bartender) seemed really put-off having to pause his conversation with a few buddies in order to ring us up. He was very curt and unfriendly, and definitely gave the impression that we werent wanted there. Didnt even have a matchbook to give us, nor did he offer to spare a light.Were young (early twenties), but very polite and respectable looking, so I see no reason why we should have been discriminated against. We will not be returning -- well take our business to merchants who treat customers the right way.

Great proprietor maybe the most knowledgeable tobacconist (sp?) Ive ever known. Extensive IPA beer inventory. Full bar. Great staff and good group of customers. Good pub food Weds thru Saturday.

This is one of our favorite places to hang out and have a beer and cigar. Some tobacco lounges are very uppity. Not this place. Everyone is welcoming and we almost always make new friends. Staff is knowlegable and can make beer and cigar recommendations based on how I am feeling, which always changes. If I pick a cigar or beer first they can make a pairing recommendation as well. Hope to make it to try their detached restaurant.

Great store, great people

Ive frequented this place of business for some time. Since its move, it has definitely gone down. Ive had the worst experience today. The jukebox was playing all country/honky-tonk music, which is fine. But there were two songs that came on back to back and the lyrics were racially motivated stating Im country like a N!@@a working on the farm. My money will be spent elsewhere and I will never visit this place of business again. I will be telling all those that I know that frequent this business about this experience.
