Everything was delicious! The cinnamon rolls werent too sweet, the biscuit was absolute perfection! It was wonderfully moist, yet crumbly while still holding up to the egg, bacon and Pimento. They roast their own beans and make all their flavors in house!! It smells so good walking in! We will definitely be back! We also tried two of the kolaches, they were delicious and matched the area, the bread had a slight sweetness to it that complimented the saltiness of the pork nicely!
Island Joes is my favorite coffee shop on the island for sure. The coffee is always a good strong pick me up in the afternoon. My wife and I often come to get coffee and work on real estate business. Another thing worth noting is the Keto Bites are delicious! The owner is nice and I really enjoy the music they play as well.
We saw a youtube video of this place and had to try it. Any place built out of a stack of shipping containers and donates to Haiti is a place we need to visit. The owner and his son did an amazing job, this building/connexes is spectacular. We enjoyed a couple frozen blended thingys, cant remember what they call it here but they do them very well, another friend that marches to the beat of a different drummer and brass band always gets an iced americano...she says they do these very well.... Ive been enjoying a bag of Guatemalan Antigua Santo Domingo coffee beans I bought here, they roast their own beans, I like the roast date written on the bag...some places dont do that.....how do you know how long ago they were roasted?! They have a plethora of great t shirts, we bought a few. Well have to try some food on our next visit to the island, we will be back.
On vacation and looking for a good breakfast? Almost didnt stop because Google suggested this place was similar to Starbucks. Couldnt be further from the truth and does a disservice to Island Joes. Cucumber toast was very refreshing with the dill and toasted sesame on the bread. The biscuit and pimento cheese hit the spot and cinnamon roll with cream cheese frosting. I could go on but you need to see for yourself!
I’m pretty much a sommelier of coffee… and Island Joe’s has excellent joe! Time and time again I visit coffee shops and cafes and am disappointed by terrible coffee - usually the result of some kind of systemic issue with the brewing, serving, or god forbid - the roasting process. It also helps to use good beans in the first place… and know what you’re doing behind the counter. Kudos to the baristas here, who, essentially have to be artists of their trade.
I had the worst experience here. Got there waited for 10 minutes just to never be waited on. People walked in after me & got served before I did. The employee left me standing there with money in my hand waiting at the counter. I was never acknowledged. I guess my money wasn’t good enough. I don’t recommend this place. I walked out after I realized the woman employee wasn’t going to help me. Worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. I drove an hour excited to try something new drove to Corpus and got Starbucks instead where I was treated like a human being. All in all this place is not worth it. 2 Thumbs down 👎🏼👎🏼 I already put bad reviews on Facebook where I have more than 2k friends. Word will definitely get around.
Nice coffee house, local owned and operated, friendly staff, excellent selection of beverages and quick bites. Cute puppy cups ( whipped cream with a dog cookie) for those with four legged friends.
Atmosphere is lovely and the staff is very friendly! Delicious coffee as well as the cinnamon rolls and kolaches!
Love visiting this quaint coffee place when at the beach! I always get the Island Girl over ice. Very unique and absolutely hits the caffeine spot. Staff is super friendly. On a side note, I have only used the drive-thru. My service is quick and outside appears to be quite clean.
Really cool coffee shop with some island flair. The shop is made out of shipping containers and is decorated with really fun, bright colors. This place has a really chill atmosphere. I had an iced latte and it was very good. Also, it appears they do their own roasting. Highly recommend!
I came here a few times. I love their vibes and the crowd that they attract. I like to get cold brew. The location is convenient: not far from the beach. They allow dogs inside.
Very interesting Coffee shop! I loved the use of shipping containers for the building! Lots of places to sit & sip your joe, and breakfast was delicious! Highly recommend the kolaches and Egg, Bacon & Cheese Biscuit. Sea Turtle & Tidal Wave were excellent.
My wife can’t get enough of the cucumber toast. The coffee was way better than Starbucks. The service was great.
Went in today at 3 pm I waited at the counter for 5 minutes a group of white ladies walked up to the counter and they were quickly served and as i stood waiting in shock that we were racially profiled if youre color of your skin aint white this place is not for you we left without being served
Everything about this place is 10/10! They have lots of options to choose from. The flavor of the brew and sweetness in their iced coffees is beautifully balanced. The best coffee I’ve had in a while. The aesthetics of the building were pleasing, truly a great place to hang out in if you’re in this area.
This local business has not only an eye catching exterior, but interior and line of product as well. All staff were friendly, personable and professional. The atmosphere generated in this coffee shop was relaxed and refreshing, mirroring the propertys location. I would highly recommend stopping in and getting a brew or snack. The clientele while I was inside were even friendly. Never had such an experience at a big box coffee joint. ☕Stay stellar, Island Joes.
Great food and coffee! Best atmosphere for a local coffeeshop. Good staff and friendly owner. Love me some Island Joes!
This is my favorite coffee place on the island/Corpus but the past 3 or 4 times I have gone I had to get my drinks remade because they were not pleasant. Not sure lately whats changed but the oat milk isnt as creamy good as it used to be. Idk something is different because I cant get the same good tasting drinks I used to get. I usually get the Iced vanilla latte with oat milk and extra vanilla and their homemade whip on top. 🙂🤌🏾
After a long trip we were so happy to see coffee. And it was delicious and made just as we ordered. We did the drive through but I definitely want to go in. Its made of colorful stacked shipping crates, and arranged to make a patio. Skip the chain and go here for sure.
This is a great place to get coffee! The atmosphere is beautiful and it is such a unique, colorful, fun set up. Perfect for kicking back and having some breakfast with friends, or an evening coffee school session. The coffee is phenomenal and I would definitely recommend the Island Joes caramelFrappuccino :). The staff is super patient and friendly with their customers and towards each other. They make amazing cinnamon rolls, fresh smoothies, and even cucumber toast which is to die for. All in all always a good trip :)
Our trip to Island Joe’s was great. They were super busy (about 4 people working) and had a ton of customers at about 915 but our drinks were correct (our white mocha and London fog were great) and their food was delicious. Next time we come back to South Padre we are DEFINITELY coming back.
Cute coffee shop with a good variety of options. There is definitely something for everyone here.
Love this cute coffee shop. Our first time here. Coffee was outstanding had an almond joy fro jo. Blended like a shake awesome didnt get watered down. Husband had a hazelnut coffee, super tasty. Homemade muffins and pastries. Had a cinnamon crunch muffin, to die for. All beans roasted in house. Clean, cute, eclectic, lots of seating in and out, and best of all air conditioned! Well be back, probably tomorrow😊
Island Joe’s is a great addition to North Padre Island. I’ve been coming here ever since their first location. They have great coffee, eats, smoothies and consistently friendly service. I finally had w chance to come to the new location, where they built it from multiple storage containers. Not only does it look cool, it is very unique! They even have rooms upstairs for rent.I’ve always preferred local over chains and Island Joe’s is proof why local is better.
What a delightful place and excellent service. Friendly staff, great coffee, wonderful prices and the homemade cinnamon rolls are a must try! Definitely worth supporting this local coffee place.
Long wait but food was so fresh and delicious. The atmosphere was great too
Been here several times when visiting corpus. Had an Iced Mexican Vanilla Latte with whip. OH. MY. GOSH. I will be back just to get a cup of that whip alone. Their drive through isn’t the quickest, but they’re always friendly, have good hours, about $5/latte and it’s always good to support local. Will have to try the cinnamon roll next time! 🤤
Wonderful local business. The staff is so kind and accommodating. Coffee is always fresh, and the smoothies are great too. It is worth the slightly longer time to get your coffee.
Iced Dirty Chai Latte, cucumber toast were excellent- unique and cozy interior, nice patio and even a meeting space for groups. House made flavor syrups and homemade pastries. Support small business & enjoy!
Oh my gosh I didnt know biscuits could be moist and buttery. High quality coffee and staff. We have come here almost every day of our vacation. The shop itself is so quirky and cute with the brightly colored connexes. Easily a padre island staple.
Very cool concept, you can’t miss it when driving.Tasty, tasty, tasty... and the cucumber toast 😋 you just gotta stop by
Came here for a second time to see if it would be better than the first. I thought wrong. The first time the order was wrong with smoothies and the food was cold when we got it. The second time we came the order was wrong and mentioned it. The cashier said I can ring you up for another one. I said no thanks. As I walked away she spoke out across the way sorry about that which seemed a little to much since everyone was looking. I recommend this staff get it together before they start going to the Starbucks down the street.
This place is wonderful. The staff are very friendly and they have the best blueberry muffin in the world, no exaggeration.
I fell in love with the pineapple spinach smoothie. My Americano was perfect and the espresso got the ex-barista approval from my traveling companion. We came back the next day to try the bacon egg biscuit and were not disappointed. The biscuit was super fluffy and the service was great! This place is 100% reclaimed shipping container and surfy hippie art. ♥️
Super interesting building made from shipping containers. The staff was really nice. A bit disappointing that they were out of their bagged, roasted-in-house, whole bean coffee & didnt really know when they might have more. A staff member did manage to rustle me up a bag from somewhere, though. They use hand pressed espresso machines, which I thought was really cool. Impressive photography by the owner throughout. If I lived in the area, I could see myself spending a lot of time here.
Very cool building layout! Lots of food options and tea flavors.
Great coffee, friendly patrons and excellent staff. The service was fantastic. Decor and space = stellar
Clean and neat, good coffee. Enjoyed the cinnamon roll and the peace and quiet
You simply have to stop at this little eclectic coffee shop made of shipping containers! Im sure the coffee is great, but I had the chai tea. Light and refreshing, and I tried it iced and hot. Great both ways!
Go there almost every morning for my frozen Sea Turtle and its soon good! All employees are super sweet and fast!
Me and my boyfriend came down for vacation and decided to stop at island joes for smoothies and they were great! The staff were all so sweet and kind as well. :)
We went here on recommendation from online. We should have waited for the recommendations from the locals, although even they mentioned them just not with as much enthusiasm. There is a sign at the end of the line by the register stating some things are worth waiting for. This is not one of them. There was a line out the door, usually a good sigh, and the staff was slower than anything. They worked but also chatted among themselves. Apparently, from the conversation they were having, breaking dishes is a common thing they do behind the counter.Their menu has changed since one of the posts we saw and was the main reason we even went. As one of the locals said, Dont get the plan coffee. It isnt any good. Well it wasnt much better with flavorings, which my wife ordered.I ordered a black tea, iced.. You know what I mean. Iced tea... They didnt. I got earl grey tea because thats the only black tea they have. They didnt understand that that is not what you call black tea. Also what I got was bitter and only vaguely even tasted like earl grey. So if that IS what you wanted, youd still be disappointed.Cleanliness was not kept up there. We had to bus our own table. Parking is a joke. Its a little parking area across the street and down a drive. So for a rundown. The drinks were off, not so clean, poor parking, slow staff, and you had to wait forever for this.Dont go.
Coffee drinks were flavorless and tasted of grounds, looked nothing like the pictures. Cinnamon roll was good.
Friendly staff, good prices, and awesome food/coffee/drink. Ill be going here rather than Starbucks ♥️ Best Coffee on the island!
Very good food! Good coffee and awesome atmosphere 👌❤️
Nice place, not great coffee. The coffee is mostly milk with little sweetener and even less coffee. If you go here you’ll need to customize/special order to actual get a coffee drink.
Such a cute place. The food and drinks are amazing. The servers are so kind too.
Everything was tasty with the food. They did tho get our order wrong once on the two visits. Definitely will go back there eventho.
We visited Island Joes mainly to see the layout of the building made from shipping containers since were going to build a home out of them. The mocha Fro Joe and Padre Paradise smoothie were just a great addition to our island trip. Perfect!
Sleek and Unique!!I found this place purely by accident while getting gas one morning, during a trip to Corpus Christi. Island Joes is a local gourmet coffee shop and it’s an art gallery too!! You find exotic blends and all of your favourites Coffee, Espresso, cappuccino, Lattes, Americano, Chemex, cold and hot brews!! If you’re near the shore in Corpus Cristi and looking for a great Cuppajoe this is the place !!
I was intrigued by this place because it’s build with containers and I’ve been wanting to build something similar. When I got there the barista was having a personal convo with her dad and didn’t even acknowledged us. Did not feel like a warm or friendly place. Then it turns out the menu online was not accurate and so I had to loose time trying to figure out what we wanted. Definitely not a toddler friendly place, the barista made sure I understood that because she kept looking at my kid making sure she didn’t break anything. Overall the food was great, but it did not pass the vibe check I was hoping for. Will not visit again. Now a days you sell an experience and the barista did not understand the assignment.
Great drinks and food. Im glad that for my birthday vacation I stopped in. Something for the entire family to enjoy. Friendly staff and nice ambience makes Island Joes a true gem on the Island!
Lovely coffee shop. Their upstairs terrace offers lovely views.
Came in during a rain storm, which means everyone else did the same thing. It was packed!! However, friendly staff, great food, and wonderful drinks. Not a lot of sugar-free options if that is what you are looking for.
Obviously the unique architecture of Island Joes is an appeal. I love the multi-colored stacked storage container building. Staff is friendly and drinks options are great. Good coffee and an interesting place to meet a friend, hang out and read a book, or set up and study or work for a while. Thanks yall for being a great place for coffee and conversations on the Island!
Nice coffee place. Cinnamon roll was delicious so thats a must try. Not a big fan of the kolaches but thats ok. Cute building with lots of character. This is our 2nd visit here and will come back again.
Wouldn’t allow me to make a to go order and is always out of food. The food is good when they have it, but they rarely do.
This place feels like a living art sculpture-actually it is. The walls are lined with art work but also it was built from rail road cars. The menu has an eclectic mix of smoothies and specialty coffees always served up with a smile. Go sit out on the second story open air porch for the win.
If you enjoy coffee and dont try the coffee shop that catches your eye because it is made by shipping containers and has a que of cars in the drive-through, you need to reevaluate your life.
THE BEST COFFEE SHOP I HAVE EVER BEEN TO. CLEAN, FRIENDLY AND GOD BASED. CHRISTIAN MUSIC PLAYING AND THE INTERESTING EXTERIOR WAS BEAUTIFUL TO LOOK AT. I LOVED THE AMBIANCE.
Visited twice on a holiday weekend, and I heard one of the baristas say Saturday was the busiest day in the history of the shop. Youd never know, based on how wonderful the entire experience was. Upbeat, fun, smart and hard working staff. Coffee was good, and baked goods were warm, hand delivered by the baker. Who does that?! Super impressed with the space, and even more impressed with the fact that the bathroom was spotless even though we arrived at the tail end of a huge rush. Ive been in food service for six years and a barista for four - these folks know what theyre doing and they do it right. Go to Island Joes!
