Very helpful staff. Definitely the place to go for the more technical side of electronics, with plenty of product and the staff being very knowledgeable.

Like a companies last effort to get a job done. Great place for home work. But if you work like a normal person good luck getting to store. You only can on the weekend if you have time. Would make money from working pros who get off the same time they close.

Great selection at reasonable prices. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Great place to find the odd cable or adapter you need, or a missing component. They also have alot of A/V cabling and connectors, stuff for home theater, and gaming.

Be careful, many items are priced well above retail price. For example a monitor that I was looking at was $470 here when every other seller around and online had it for $300.

Awesome service. Im a public school teacher and needed to setup my outdated Elmo (document camera) provided by my campus, for online teaching. However, the Elmo did not have connections that would hook up to my more current laptop. John helped me find the right cable and made sure it worked properly before even checking me out. He moved some display items to set everything up and connect to the net. After some searching he found the right software needed, and now Im able to use the Elmo with my newer laptop. With his help, I am now able to teach my classes more effectively. Thanks John, its very much appreciated!

Altex has all the electronic equipment that i need. I mainly get connectors but they have a large variety of items for any electronic/computer needs one may have. The staff has always been very helpful in finding items i need or explaining how they work. Like everywhere else you need to wear a mask however this is one electronics store i highly recommend. Plus there are plenty of nearby restaurants near by to catch a bite to eat.

Awesome place, they helped me fix problems with my new PC build. Everyone of the staff was super helpful and was willing to set aside time to check and go over the problems I was experiencing with my PC. Two in particular was Jon and Silby, you can not get any better customer service then these two gentlemen who not only helped me but taught me a ton involving computers. Even other repair shops will vouch for how great there technician is, he even made my case and wiring look absolutely gorgeous. If you have any issue with a PC bring it over to Altex they are badasses.

My hard drive for my business crashed a week ago. Altex was able to help me recover the files I needed—numerous trips as I discovered files I was missing. Great service and super helpful! Highly recommend! They saved me hours of work and I’m very grateful.

As soon as RTX 3090 came out and then running out of stocks i called Altex and asked them about the stock, then they have add me to their list since i was the first caller about it. Then they called me today that they are going to have RTX 3090 and if i wanted one. it was so quick and helpful. i was also having problem with my internet not getting 1 gig, i was getting 720 mb/s at most. I told them my problem they offered me a budget router and now im getting 960 on speed test. Thank you all!

I Came in a few days ago. Their technician Silby was the absolute best. Looked at my computer and was not only spot on with his diagnostics and was very friendly. He helped me pick out my new parts and even showed me why it went bad..This is one of the best places i have been to for not only service for my computer but parts as well. I will be back for sure.

We had a very critical Hard Drive go down and Silby, the technician, assisted us. He was extremely savvy, helpful and friendly. He offered several alternatives for how to retrieve the data and was able to create a clone image of this device. The process of transferring/cloning the data was superb and the user was up and running (with a new Hard Drive) before lunch like nothing had happened! Exceptionally reasonable cost, too. Thanks to the other staff that helped us out, as well.

Prices could be better... Unwilling to price match with Amazon unlike another retailer in corpus. Excellent place to find tools though.

Real friendly employees. Their greetings are dull, there was a man doing shipment Im assuming, he was nice. Our cashier did not acknowledge us when she was supposedly on the phone (we did not hear her talking while she was 3 ft away from us) so I am assuming she was on her personal phone when we asked for assistance. Her demeanor was rude and unwelcoming nor appreciative of our business. The employee besides her was bluntly staring at us while she was cashing us out which made me feel rushed.

I have never had an easier experience in my life. Silby is the one that helped us. Goodness gracious he was so nice and helpful. He gave us lots of helpful info and made us laugh in the process! Thank you so much!!! We will definitely be back!!!

This store was perfectly balanced. Defeating the avengers was easy thanks to the employees at Altex. I found all the parts I needed to repair my space ship, even if they didnt have it in stock. I know who Ill be sparring in the next snap.

Wasnt very impressed by the selection. Went there to purchase a motherboard, but the few they had were outdated and overpriced. The few b450s they had were $50-$70 more than what you could purchase on Newegg. It seemed like the store was more of a place to buy prebuilt PCs rather than computer parts.

Sales personal work on commission. Weighing out the difference between Best buy and Altex for your computer needs would need to be considered keeping in mind Altex dont sell anything Apple. They do have budget buy on merchandise but the majority of the product they sell is high dollar. I like them but I dont shop there more than twice a year, maybe....

Great selection and good prices. The staff actually knows about the products they sell and are very helpful. The salesperson there actually recommended a laptop that was $700. dollars cheaper and demonstrating the components that made it better!

Good selection as always, but also as always somewhat disorganized as to labeling their sections. Also had a fairly long wait before I could get some help - they were understaffed (it was admittedly during lunch time). The associate who finally helped me however was knowledgeable and able to direct me to the section I needed quickly.

Man. I used to go to Altex all the time whenever I needed something for my computer. The staff were always helpful and eager to assist any customer that walked in. This is a smaller version of Frys, which owns them incidentally. It is only electronics without all the other things which are found in a Frys store! I went looking for a specific cable (3 ft.ded in length with male connectors at both ends) for our television, but found so many cables that I quickly decided to ask for assistance. There were two people on duty when I entered, but by the time I had stood waiting at the checkout counter for approximately 15 minutes only one clerk who was assisting another customer, had appeared! Finally the second employee made an appearance and easily found the cable for me. Prices-5 stars. Selection of product- 5 stars. Service- 1 star!

After purchasing an item I apparently didnt need and letting the return period pass, I still asked for a refund, and it was cheerfully given. That alone is terrific and is a fantastic first impression.I expect to return whenever I have need for their goods.The initial people I spoke with need to work on their customer service, but asking for the manager on duty made all the difference in the world.

Staff know what they’re doing! As someone new to pc gaming, I came in here to see what cables I needed to install a second hard drive. I had already tried to do this at BestBuy since I have a warranty on my tower through them, but they had no idea what I was even talking about. Finally one of the managers recommended Altex. The Altex staff told me very clearly what was needed and even showed me how to install it all for free. Excellent customer service, I will certainly be back for all of my computer needs!

Normally computer places will try to rake you over the coals, but altex has always treated me well and never tried to get me to buy something I didnt need or over charge me for something. Theyre a very honest company and that can be hard to find these days. I only take my computers here if they need repaired or any diagnostic work done.

This is kind of a cross between Radio Shack and Best Buy. They sometimes do not have the latest technology and items can be over priced. However, they are typically a one stop shop if you have several needs. It will likely save you time from going to multiple stores. They have a computer repair shop, but I have not used it and cannot comment about their services.
