Lucas installed a hitch for me on a Sunday, even though they normally don’t do installations on the weekend, in the 100° heat the same day I called. Had my original plans fall through, moving in 2 days, and they fit me in so I could move as planned even though they had a full schedule during the week. Thanks guys!
Great experience from phone call to hitch installed. Austin (newer employee) was very honest about being relatively new and didnt have the answer to a couple very specific hitch questions I had. Rather than do what most people seem to do these days (make statements as facts that when they are unsure of the exact answer) Austin was straight up and got the right person that would know - his manager. While I was on the phone Austin he text his manager Brent and got quick responses while I was on the phone. I was impressed at how they worked together so quickly to address all my questions and concerns. From there Austin told me he would call me back after making sure they had all the parts needed for the hitch installation. He was prompt to call me back and schedule the appointment. He also backed up the prices he quoted over the phone with an email outlining what we discussed and a text with my appointment reminder. I should also mention they time they quoted was on the lower end of the price quote so I paid less that what the high end of the quote said it could cost. Many places would have charged the higher price even if it was done in half the time. Thank you Brent & Austin :)
Update regarding my review below. After calling customer service, the Corvallis manager refunded the $20. Thank you. I also would add that they have always been professional and courteous at the Corvallis Uhaul. I will continue to use them, but I will not drop after hours. Sad because that IS safer during COVID for me and for them. It is also often more convenient for me and gets the truck back to them sooner so they can re-lease it right away the next day. Im leaving the rating at one star as a protest to the fee in general. We should not be charged for returning the truck after hours.Original Review: As always, everything went very smoothly except that Uhaul wants me to check in the truck w a mobile app and said I can return after hours w the mobile app. Well, I have an iphone 11 w/ unlimited data but the Uhaul app never works for me. There was no mention of a $20 fee and they gave me no paper contract. I left the truck in the return lane after hours, clean and full of fuel. I dropped the keys in the drop box. Then I see they charged me a $20 convenience fee. Customer service explained that that the fee is because dropping after hours keeps me safe from covid. What a crock! Uhaul has always had an after hours drop box and to my knowledge did not charge a fee. If I bring it in during bus hours, someone has to check it in and no fee... why should it matter that I left it after hours? This fee is not justifiable.
Corvallis Uhaul is absolutely fantastic. The large moving truck was ready on time, and fit everything as expected. I even had to grab a pickup for the next day and the GMC pickups are smooth and easy to drive, have a fantastic amount of room and tie downs. The controls for their trucks work well and the contract is email friendly! Thanks so much to Uhaul Corvallis professional, friendly customer service and easy to understand paperwork. Even got a last minute mattress protector from the store which is WELL stocked with everything you need from tape to boxes.Dont want to deal with people? No problem. Use your cell phone to pick up your truck!
I called for the Corvallis Uhaul customer service twice today, and I wait more than 30min for each time, but still no body answer me?
Uhaul consistently has shown disregard for reservations and does not keep an inventory capable of handling their reservations as well as update customers of their lack of ability to fulfill their reservation until the last minute so you cannot make other arrangements in time for your plans
Just left the uhaul location after purchasing boxes. The maroon haired woman behind the counter was so rude I havent written a review in years but this needed to be said. I was looking for a box of packing paper. She informed me that the packing paper was in front of me, it was a roll. When I asked if they had a box, which has more paper in it, she said I guess I can check in the back. Rather than inconvenience her I said Id take the smaller roll. As I came up to the counter to set my purchases down, which included several boxes, I was telling her how many boxes I had in my hand. She loudly interrupted me to tell me to step back because of social distancing. She was basically yelling as she interrupted me. Because she interrupted she had no idea what I was purchasing, as I tried to tell her she interrupted me again. In the end I had to tell her 3 times what I was purchasing because she wouldnt stop talking over me. I needed to pay but couldnt reach the card reader standing where she told me to stand . She never offered to step back herself as I needed to pay with the card reader which was closer than 6 feet to her. So the social distancing doesnt apply to her, just everyone else. I think she realized her tone of voice and attitude was unacceptable because she gave a half hearted attempt at an apology. When I didnt respond because I was still attempting to be civil but was worried I wouldnt keep my cool she actually said well then! in a huffy voice. If she was so worried about the virus why wasnt she wearing gloves or a face mask. My friend who was with me and heard the exchanges says it seems like she was just taking the opportunity to be rude because she could. I know this is a stressful time, but I still expect civility from customer service representatives. That womans behavior is unacceptable under any circumstances.PS. Drew who helped us purchase a tow hitch and rent a trailor, the day before, is the only reason there are 2 stars. His customer service was exemplary and he went above and beyond to help us. He shows his someone can behave during a stressful time.
My stuff got stolen broke off lock stole all my stuff and nothing really left I grew up uhaul not that everything including my business stuff stolen wont see insurance claim money and staff knows others have stolen from there yet dont ever get better security really 😞 disappointed in u haul failed one best customers
Stephanie and Boy in the office did a really good job at getting my reservation straightened out. First time using a Uhual, and they walked me through all the steps. They even hooked up the trailer and lights!Thank you guys!Ronnie
Excellent service! First thing in the morning, Becky was pleasant and knowledgeable, she listened to my needs and solved my problem quickly and efficiently. Late morning, Trevor proved superior service is the normal standard of business and listened to my concerns. He secured a possible rental for me and provided an even better solution to my immediate problem- involving towing hardware- with remarkable ease, allowing me to address the issue myself. Mid-afternoon, Eric took my call and graciously accepted my cancellation, offering further alternatives should I have any other needs. In all, the U-haul on 5th Street has the highest marks in service and in customer care- and a very tidy lot / operation set up to boot~! Nicely done, team!
I believe this company steals money from their customers. I rented a van and drove only 12 miles. I filled up one gallon of gas, and when I returned it they still said the van needs another gallon of fuel. They then charged me for 4.50 for the gallon which is absurd. I even took a picture of the gauge before hand and it was exactly the same when I returned it. To add to that, the employee asked me for my receipt to prove I bought gas. I’ll find a different company next time I want to move. 1/5
Great service and employees. Went for a drop off close to closing time and the person working was super kind and quick. Probably the smoothest part of our move!
I rented a 10 truck today and a 26 truck last weekend for my local Corvallis move, and inquired about a trailer hitch for my car. Between phone calls and two visits I spoke with several people and was totally satisfied with the quality of service.I didnt bother to read the reviews because Ive had good service at U-Hauls elsewhere. When I used my phone to navigate back there tonight (to return a truck) and saw the old reviews I had to post this - my experience was nothing like those older reviews, it was absolutely good, all around, no caveats.
I rarely leave reviews, but the manager(owner?) here deserved it. He went out of his way to save us a 30 minute drive to pick up a truck in another town. Really appreciated the great customer service.
Pierce Woods was so incredibly helpful. Efficient, cost effective and very friendly customer service. He set everything up for us. I would travel out of my way to use this U-haul site because they were so great to work with.
Made the move easier. They were very friendly.
1 star for being polite but
Slow but good service. The guy who does the hitch and lights is a great employee. He answered All my questions. Great job....Give him a raise ! !
The experience was as expected. I checked out a moving van ahead of time, arrived at the place to get the keys and confirm ID, used the van, and returned it after hours via the website. I would take the extra few minutes to make an account with them to make the whole process faster.
Worst customer service I have ever received from a uhaul. When I asked about my veteran discount one of the owners at the counter flicked me attitude and tried to embarrass me in front of other customers for inquiring about it. Then he told me hed give me $5 off. I was very respectful the entire time, despite his lack respect. After returning the equipment they continued to charge my card monthly even though everything was returned. They were unwilling to help so I had to go through corporate to fix the issue.
What a great place to do business. Thank you Brent for your awesome customer service and patience.
Very poor experience. I made and confirmed a reservation for a truck on Thanksgiving at 330p. This was confirmed by both local and national offices. The day before the pick up, I once again verified office hours. Day of pick up the office closed at 3p, and I had to pick up the truck the following day. At pick up, the attendant was unapologetic and borderline rude. Because of this delay I ended up getting pummeled by snow going over the Blue Mtns. The truck leaked, and there was water damage to multiple personal items over the trip. It did run ok though, and was clean at pick up. The accessories were not placed in the truck at pick up, as they have been at other UHauls I have used in the past. Finding these was another time suck. Again, this was a very poor experience, and I hope very much that I will not have to use UHaul again. Recommend you use a different store.
Horrible customer service. Woman who answered the phone was rude and seemed very put out to check availability, even huffing at me. No go. People at junction city uhaul were nice, polite and helpful. Suggest traveling a bit too get your rental and avoid these guys.
Very friendly staff, equipment was well kept, there was even a dolly in the pickup I rented eventhough I didnt ask for one. Big lot with a good selection of vehicles.
Man, this has been a complete debacle. It starts with me scheduling my appointment. It was set for 10:00am. I get a notification that it is for noon, so i call to rectify that it is for 10. As I’m driving to the U-Haul, I call to notify them that I will be late because of a “puppy disaster.” They inform me that it’s okay and my appt. isn’t until 11:30. I again have to clarify that it was set for 10am twice. At no point does anyone acknowledge that they have made a mistake or the inconvenience to me.I get to the location and am informed that it will take longer because only one guy is installing and there is someone scheduled ahead of my 11:30 appt. GRRRR!Now I’m sitting here and losing all of my work day. The hitch still isn’t finished and I am told it will be another hour, making it a two hour delay.I will never be using U-Haul services again and will loudly advocate people find another avenue for installing hitches. Thanks for ruining my workday, U-Haul. You cost me over $150 in wages.
Theyre great folks try hard to please and genuinely care about giving there best effort.
1) Yesterday July 1 015 they rented out a truck we had reserved resulting in us having to drive half hour farther to get a truck that was too big to fit in our drive...2) Today July 2 2015 we had reservations again for same truck and again they rented it even though we had confirmed reservations..They offered to rent us this truck that we had reserved for couple days to have it less than 24 hours( 3:30 pm-10 am) at full 24 hour price even though they messed up our reservations 2 days in row.3) While there a couple of young ladies came in and inquired why their deposit had not been credited to their account..Apparently depends upon who you ask because while standing at counter they had three people tell them every thing from one to 2 days, 3-5 days and finally they were told 3-7 days..4) All we got was excuses from manager and counter help...What a joke will not do business with them again unless I absolutely have no choice..Terrible service..They do not honor their contracts on reservations.5) Because of their unwillingness to honor their reservations cost me entire day of lost time, extra money due to having to drive farther, and still unable to get truck reserved..Shameful
Was fairly easy to drop off a truck after hours - good signage and ample space.
I tried to reserve a storage unit yesterday and they were having trouble with their credit card machine. She tried 3 times to run my card, each time the machine erased the number. The 4th time, her phone was cutting out and I couldnt understand her. I hung up and spent the next 4 hours trying to call them directly at the Corvallis number. Each time, I was forwarded to the US Call Center. This morning I was able to reach the Corvallis number and they told me they didnt have that size unit anymore and I would have to rent the next size up for $10.00 more per month. No apologies, just excuses - thats the way it goes I was told. No thank you! I will take my business elsewhere.
They have so many trucks available.
They got really nice trucks and every thing you need for moving like boxes covers...
Uhaul has repeatedly proven to have terrible customer service. I have used the U-box shipping program three times and EVERY time I have had huge disasters and lies from employees to deal with. Everything from the manager holding the box to collect an extra months rental fee to boxes going missing in transport and not being able to be traced, to most recently the company falsely advertising a u-box center in a location without the necessary tools to accept a box rendering my box stuck over 40 minutes away and me without any way to access it so I got to spend MORE money for delivery. I have only used this company recently because it was literally the only option available in the city I was leaving from but next time I move I will give away EVERYTHING before even considering u-haul again.Four years ago, the manager at the College Station TX u-haul with-held my box to get an extra months rental fee incurred despite promising that the box would be shipped the day after I dropped it back full of EVERYTHING I owned. Then, the box went missing in the shipment and couldnt be located. It arrived almost exactly 30 days past the guaranteed date and they had the audacity to try to charge me an extra month rental fee despite knowing the issues that were occurring! At that time, their upper level management were contacted including regional managers and the CEO of the company and they seemed to believe that they could fix the issues by mailing me coupons for free boxes for the next time I moved- but yet, I never received those promised coupons! When that box finally arrived in Corvallis- over a month late- the manager (Trevor V) delivered it to my apartment complex without notice, when nobody was home to accept the box, with the lock completely torn off of the box and the door secured with saran wrap! I had to unload the entire box after arriving home at 8pm (because I worked in a veterinary hospital and routinely work 13-hour shifts as a resident) because none of my belongings could be secured! Most recently, the manager at the Corvallis store (again, Trevor V) accepted a u-box and put in a shipment to the wrong city. When I told him he selected the city he told me that doesnt matter just call this number and they will re-direct it for you. When I called to get the box re-directed to the correct city, I was told: 1- this is a lie, they cannot re-direct a box to a different city once it has been sent for shipment; 2- the delivery site in the city I was moving to was unable to accept u-boxes despite the fact that they are clearly listed as a u-box center on the u-haul website and via the u-haul website you can order a shipment directed there! Trevor V is clearly a lazy manager and doesnt give a damn about the customer or the business he works for. The fact that two managers at completely different cities would act so similarly sneaky makes me believe that the problem is with the company itself, extending far beyond the local depots.Their call center people are not familiar with what their business offers. They are unable to search confirmation numbers, and they put you off by saying they are making notes on your account but somehow those notes are NEVER accessible by ANYONE else you wind up speaking with.MovingHelpers was unable to give me any information with how the service worked- despite my directly asking they told me the MovingHelpers provide their own transport vehicle for the u-box, which is untrue causing me to have to write a personal check at the delivery for $117- this seems like not a big deal, but when youve already spent literally thousands and then were forced to spend another $210 for a moving crew because the delivery site wasnt a real u-box center, this is a huge thing for the u-haul MovingHelpers to not realize might be a necessary cost to mention! It would be worth double to NEVER see a u-haul truck again, because they truly are that terrible of a company.
Incompetent really. Always had a truck and a trailer. Never needed uhaul. Used it for the first time. Called last night to reserve a trailer in Corvallis. Told him Im in Eugene and driving to corvallis. He told me I had to make it before 7 to make the reservation. So I attempt to make it to Corvallis in time. Keep in mind its already 6:30. I didnt make it. So I go online to call customer service and find out I can make reservations online. I do so. I wake up to a message now saying they dont have any tow dollys in Corvallis or Albany. If the degenerate worker would have not been lazy and just done his job, Taken the reservation over the Phone right when I called, When he told me they were in stock, I wouldnt be in the situation where I waste my time, gas, and am still without a trailer. Great job uhual. Hired some real go getters.
Reserved a Uhaul a month in advance and two days before move they notify me that they do not have a Uhaul for me at the 10 am time I requested and that I could pick it up at 6pm. I had already arranged and paid movers for 1030 am. We explained that this was unacceptable. The agent was rude on the phone. Called Penske and was guaranteed a truck on short notice. I will never use Uhaul again
Helpful guys! Easy business, no hurdle.
My wife and I rented a 17 foot truck to move across town in May 2015. I was a bit unnerved when I read the *scathing* reviews here on Google as I went about searching and preparing to arrange my business with Uhaul. I decided to work with Uhaul anyway based on brand recognition, price, and availability. And the verdict was - it was fine. More than fine, really, I had a good experience. I got the truck, paid my fee, and moved across town. It was painless and convenient. Everyone was pleasant to deal with. My only real complaint about the whole experience is that the Uhaul parking lot there on 5th street is a little funky and confusing when you enter for the first time. Anyway, I just wanted to get on here and balance out the reviews a little so other Corvallis folks dont get too nervous about their big move!
Rented a few times from here and have never been dissatisfied.
I visited the Corvallis location on NW 5th at around 2:20 pm on Tuesday, January 14th as I needed a small U-haul truck to move a friend. I noticed there was 1 customer ahead of me being helped by 1 clerk (hereafter referred to as Will or Chris). After a few minutes I was helped by Chris. He was able to get me the 10 box van quickly, I purchased the insurance, and was on my way. Unfortunately, as soon as I drove several yards and picked up speed, I heard what sounded like a rock in the drivers side front tire. I arrived at my destination approximately 4 blocks away and was shocked to see a bolt (not a nail) in the tire. I did not hear any air leaking and logic dictated that the bolt had been in there a while. There was a faint arrow even drawn to the bolt using tire chalk on the outside of the tire!Needless to say, I was not happy that U-haul would expect me to drive the vehicle on any road. I got my helpers started on the move then I took the truck back. The same clerk was outside helping another customer. 10 minutes later he came inside and I had to approach the counter, he didnt even attempt to make eye contact or greet me. I put the keys and contract down on the counter and told him to go outside and tell me whats wrong with the front drivers side tire.Chris slowly finished what he was doing on the computer then went outside to look at the tire. It was determined there was a slow air leak, and said he had to go speak to his manager. I waited 10 more minutes while he did that, while another customer came up behind me and wondered what was taking so long. Chris finally re-appeared and I let him know that the near 30 minute delay was taking a big chunk out of my move, and what was he going to do to make it up to me? He said he was going to get me in another truck at the behest of his manager. There was no sorry about that or I hope the rest of your move goes smooth. Nothing. Awful customer service.I grabbed a business card to call the manager at a later time, and about 4 hours later, did just that. Cliff returned my call and in a nutshell I let him know the customer service and wait time was awful. He replied that Chris was actually Will and my wait time was 10 minutes, max. Nope. I asked Cliff what he would do to make it up to me, and he had the gall to say that hes going to fix the tire free of charge for me. Uh, first of all, I bought the insurance, and second of all, the bolt existed in the tire prior to me leaving the parking lot. Cliff stated that he respected my opinion but would be willing to stake his job on it that i picked up the bolt outside of the parking lot. I told him, thats funny, go look at the tire and see the faint arrow drawn to the bolt? Well, I dont work for Les Schwab, and Im all out of chalk, man. He said he was already going above and beyond by responding to my call after business hours and ignored my claim about the chalk. I ended the call after listening him trying to run some damage control by saying how great he is. Pass.P.S. I had to edit this review 4 times before Google would post it, i think its incredibly lame that they wouldnt tell me what the offensive content is. I also think that U-Haul is flagging the review because they dont like customers knowing the truth.
Overall, I had pretty decent service here in the year I rented a storage unit.
The guys here went out of their way to contact a store with the part we needed to move. Great customer service and very kind.
HORRIBLE!! The manager (?) called me at 7:15 in the morning complaining about how the truck wasnt clean- NO it wasnt because it had to be HAULED in from Newport Oregon in the middle of the night!! They charged me almost $300 AFTER Uhaul corporate said they wouldnt!! UNBELIEVABLE manager AND district manager NEVER called me back. People in ARKANSAS were calling me back-- they just couldnt be bothered. HORRIBLE!! Truck broke down twice and now the INSURANCE I paid for will not reimburse for broken belongings because I dont have the original receipt from them!!!
Rented here more than once, and the service was great!
Great experience with the in-town moving. Very friendly employees.
Charged almost double mileage because they didnt update it from the previous rental. Or else it was blatant fraud to upcharge. Who knows.
Quick and easy. Good service.
I say four stars because they were really short staffed but the employees were friendly and capable
What can I say to U-Haul facility in a college town they have plenty of inventory not enough staff the they offer plenty of services an other moving, packing goods even know they are kinda expensive its your one stop moving shop.
Made a reservation a month ago for 9am pick up,they notify 2 days before I am set to move that it wont be there until 2pm. Customer service was not helpful at all.
Poor service and they charged my card three times
Really nice general manager.
In and out quickly.
Professional and easy to deal with.
Super easy and fast
Very helpful and nice
Fast friendly reliable
Prompt and courteous.
