Great service and excellent selection of standard and Japanese specific goods.Like every supermarket they have some common items at very low prices and some common items well above avg prices. So you have to do a bit of hunting to get the best value. This super market stands out in customer service. They are incredibly respectful and offer things like free boxes you can take to package your items in neatly and offer free ice in produce bags to keep your meats and fish fresh and cool for the long trip home (if you live as far away as I do). Its well worth the trip.
Great selection! Very helpful, friendly staff and great prices on basic as well as harder to find items.
Parking was super easy even on weekends afternoon, the store is bright, clean and highly organized. Items are easy to find. Cashiers are always polite and friendly. Their bento variety and options is not as extensive as Tokyo central. But, I always get their kaisen don Chirashi. Its always super fresh and very tasty. Seiwa always have weekly sale or deals happening, the sale ads are also posted online as well.
It has a lot of variety in instant noodles, curries, and tofu. Its a lot smaller than the usually Asian market I go to but this one is closer to home. I have bought my tofu from here and also some miso soup mix. Have yet to buy produce but they look good. Ive been wanting to buy bread but maybe next time. My husband tried a vitamin drink and he really enjoyed it. The coffee mixes are tasty too.
It has excellent service, great products, and they even have bento boxes for a quick lunch on the go to your safe and sound home. So, if you order from here then youre safe, sound, and have comfort about the products. I recommend the dried rice bags to get to last you the rest of the week.
Clean store. Friendly staff. Good meat selection. Lots of Japanese snacks and grocery.
I work down the street from this place and it’s helped me out getting quick lunches and snacks
Nice little market, I wish it was closer to me. Very helpful staff. They could use some new shelves and things, but like I said its a nice little market.
Their location is ideal for me and there is ample parking most of the time. Very spacious and the service is great! Highly recommended in Seiwa Market!
Love this little market!!! Has fantastic specials. Sashimi salmon and tuna at a great price. Overall a great value. Simple and not fancy inside but again great value, great food and extremely nice people that work there!
Great store with decent selections for us.
Very nice and clean. Great sushi!
Light on staff and heavy on pre-packaged and frozen items. Small produce section but good quality.
This is my opinion and my personal experience of what I think and how I was treated at Seiwa supermarket. I personally love this place because they have good sashimi, and specialty bowls, at a decent price, that i am willing to pay. Seiwa is not a really big grocery store so its easy to navigate around and find what you are looking for. The customer service is also very good. Very friendly cashiers. So I do recommend this place for your japenese grocery needs.
Staff is always super helpful. Everything is clean. Great quality products. They have boxes from shipments that they reused you can use to hold your purchases. I shop here constantly.
Seiwa Market is a couple of blocks closer to the San Diego freeway Harbor offramp from the other really popular Japanese market. It feels more like the Japanese markets I used to visit as a child with my grandmother. Prices are lower than the other market but selection is not as vast, thus the four stars. Its not as crowded, at least during the week, and parking is usually not bad either. I love the choice of frozen fish and the availability of fresh sashimi. There is also a small but well stocked fresh produce area as well.
Good variety, great pricing! Clean and organized.. highly recommend to shop there for a sushi meal!
One of the best asain food marts out there
We got some great deals on the mochi dango. We will have to buy some more.
Best prices! Cant beat it!
Has it been three weeks since I’ve been here!? I gotta stop by again. Pro tip: produce is low on Fridays. I always forget and have to come back Saturday. Usually they’re super nice and will go check in the back and check and see if they have what you’re looking for. I bought a box full of different snacks mocha candy gummies chocolates and weird stuff for my brother’s birthday cause I know how much he misses visiting Japan!
Its okay some prices seem to be a little too high. Always has good produce though.
A bit different from Tokyo Central and Mitsuwa Japanese market. Worth making a stop as they have items not found in t h e other 2 markets
I really kimochi this place for the wide Japanese selection, but sometimes itayo cause I wish the store was bigger
Wish we had something like this where I live! This Japanese market is great!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this marketplace! My coworker originally brought me to this place because she told me that they had some insane meat deals on Friday afternoons... and she was right! I have been to many different Asian markets throughout OC but I really like Seiwa because it’s specifically Japanese and not as busy as other popular locations like 99 ranch and Mitsuwa.I love to get different types of snacks and sauces here as I find they are slightly cheaper than the big markets. They also have such a wide selection of pretty much everything so it is an excellent way to immerse yourself in all things Japanese. I even bought a spam musubi maker here simply because it was in the sale section!Their ice cream section is great and they also have lots of different sake drinks. Overall, well worth the visit if you’re in town and looking for great things to add to your pantry and fridge.
Great local source for Japamese products. Sea food deli goes on sale daily after 4 pm. Also meat has special deals every 2nd and 4th Friday..
Great market, one of my favorites in the area. Its one of the only places I can find large blocks of tamago for less then 10 dollars, and others usually only give you half of the amount. Sometimes it runs out and you gotta wait a bit, but most of the time, they have plenty. It is completely worth it. Staff there is nice. Place is clean. Love it.
Prices be better than H mart and you wont be feelin like a mouse in a maze
Meh. The ready-made food was only OK.Well keep going to Tokyo Central even though its more crowded for the superior selection and much fresher ready made food.
This is medium size of the Asian market ( Japanese). Most products here are from Japan event frozen foods as well. Nice and clean market.Good customers service. The prices are reasonable.
Yeah I come here after business trip, love nigiri 🍣 but have to wait after 5pm to get discounts
Love their pre-made sushi packs...especially after 5:00, when it is discounted. Selection is very good.
Better shopping at seawa market then tokyo centrral..staff much more freindly
I love the place.very nice respectably oriented decorative motif.
Great little Japanese store... wish it was bigger/had more items. We went again a few months later and they have more items now: snacks, prepared and packaged food, and various baked and canned goods...so its 5 stars now!!
Cheaper than Tokyo central.
Not crowded, safe space. Fresh produce and special sales in most departments, esp meat and poultry. Several popular sashimi and sushi trays. Convenient and good quality!
The market has good variety of imported products, the organization is not the best at some points you feel the market had not finished unpacking after a move.Prices are fair and the sushi is freshI wanted to find multi flavored kit Kats but nothing of that.
Basically Seiwa is like the Costco of Japanese foods, though its not quite as large in volume and theres not membership fees. But prices are mote reasonable than other J-markets nearby.
Did a quick run here and Tokyo Central. If you dont mind the slight mess of boxes due to them buying in bulk, most of the items here are 5-10, sometimes up to 40 percent cheaper than Tokyo Central.
Its a good alternative to other markets around. The prices are good but still more than Id like to pay. Tokyo Central is definitely where youd have to pay top dollar for stuff.Seiwa has pretty good deals on some stuff sometimes.
I love it, the perfect market to find japanese groceries.
Great customer service if you have any questions.
Good product. Good market. Good service and very clean and organized. Love it.
The store didnt have any ripe bananas so I just loaded up on snacks, drinks, n ramen noodles.I try to stop by when Im in the vicinity.
It is quality products there. The staff is very friendly!
Great items. After 5 p.m. - discount sushi!
Incredibly friendly and helpful staff, great produce, and a really nice selection of Japanese foods I often buy, and many I hadnt seen.
I really like this lowkey Japanese market. Its a great place to get very affordable Japanese staples - like rice, sauces, tofu, tea, snacks. The meat counter has really beautiful meat in nice, modest serving sizes. They often have samplers of the wagyu beef. The produce is somewhat limited, but always looks great. And the staff are very friendly.
Clean, safe, quiet, with great selections of freshly prepared food daily. Seiwa Market has helped get me through this pandemic!
Great selection, was able to find everything I needed for a Japanese dish I was making, although it took awhile because there was some disorganization of products. It looks like they are renovating or something, so Ill give them the benefit of the doubt. Other than that, great place to shop!
Such a cute little Japanese grocery store for urgent japanese ingredients. Lots of snack varieties, not too comprehensive, but perfect place to run into if in the area. Reasonable prices if on sale
Different line-up than Mitsuwa Im used to, and it was such a fun. Definitely worth a visit if youre looking for a scene change.
Great little Asian Market! Been shopping there for some time!
This store deserves more recognition. Its an excellent store. Its rather small compared to other markets, but you find many Japanese only products here you cant get in any other market. Plus, you get many many made in Japan products, which I 100% trust. The store is small but DO NOT let that deter you. You will definitely like what you find. Oh, they had beef sukiyaki samples out. My goodness that was the best beef Ive ever tasted.
Very nice employees. Great selection of Asian food, Japanese, Korean mostly. They also sell expired food at a discount which I find interesting. Great prices for rice! Also they gave out free hi-chew :)
Best Asian market. We love shopping here. Look for their discounts on the pre-packaged foods at 5:00PM daily. The fresh fish is super high quality and they have a great selection. They also always have our favorite Sake at reasonable prices. The sales people are helpful and friendly.
Excellent choice of Japanese products
Great sushi at reasonable prices
Best prices and selection.
Not as comprehensive as Mitsuwa or Tokyo Central, but set up like a traditional grocery store and the prices are competitive here and there are potential savings depending on what you want. They carry the Japanese Fanta grape which is a personal favorite.
I really enjoy shopping here when Im in Costa Mesa. It has a large variety of Japanese food, such as ramen noodles, chips, rice cakes, cookies, candy, coffee drinks and beer. I always find good snacks and delicious drinks to buy. Highly recommended and very friendly.
Like Tokyo Central down Harbor but youll never have to wait in line outside.
First time there, everything well marked. Got some cute Asian socks, very unique! Very fresh produce but no organic cherries which are good for Japanese New Year!
I shop here once every 3 days. Its so convenient because they carry all the best Japanese ingredients
You have to come in and see everything they have here. Its all delicious, especially the food thats already prepared for a quick lunch. My husband and I come here all the way from Palm Springs because we love it. Try the green tea noodles, amazing!
S.. E.. I.. W.. A.. SEIWA!What do we want!?Japanese GROCERIES!Where do we want it!?A well lit spacious and easy parking store!!!Why do we go here?!Good prices, fine selection and not crowded! When do we go!!?Whenever we want.. within store hours!Who is SEIWA?A small Texas based supermarket chain with locations in Houston! Torrance! And Costa Mesa! What don’t they have?!Hot foods!
A great little Asian market with lots of different ingredients (Not just Japanese).Fresh, hard to find ingredients as well as dried noodles of every variety and extensive frozen food options! Tons of teas, desserts and rice/plum wine!I got a bunch of fun and unique sounding snacks, some ramen and fresh herbs. Looks like theres a small tchotchke stand going up, but it was closed when we went in. I saw comics and toys from Japan! Will return again.
Lower price, fresh produce and fruits, if need shabu shabu ingredients dont skip meat department, frozen food area got so many things to choose.
This Market is cheaper than Mituwa. Some of the item is cheaper than Tokyo central and vise versa. I like to buy meats and snacks here because it’s the best quality and good prices! They have Wagyu meat always in good price! Not so much on the fish and sushi. They also sell Cream pan bread! But if you don’t come early all the good ones sells out by 1pm.
Man in bakery told me to not touch the bread(plastic wrapped), my reply “how can I read the ingredients?”. Suddenly he could not speak english. So I refused to shop there for one year. Now that specific bakery section is gone. Good riddens,
A japanese version of smart & final. You can find a couple of bulk/restaurant packaging in the frozen food section. Easier to find parking and faster checkout in comparison to Tokyo Central on the weekend, which is located a couple blocks down the same street. Selection of products is smaller than Tokyo Central but price is still comparable to both Mitsuwa and Tokyo Central.
This was an old fresh and easy... in fact if you look around the fixtures and the color scheme is still the same! this is great... much better prices than mitsuwa market 2 miles away... and a large import selection. parking is easy (and they even inherit the family parking signs from fresh and easy)
Very nice store. Always my go to in the area for plum wine and asian drinks. Very friendly cashier. Nice and clean store and aisles.
If you need to stock up, there are many items here to choose from. Feels like a warehouse shop with many frozen selections. My daughter in college loads up the freezer so she has a good, but wide variety of food for dinner.
My fav place
I really like this Japanese market. Their prices and selections are really good. Their beef is really good with good prices. Their sashimi also. Highly recommend
When people ask me to describe it its kind of like a Japanese Costco 🤔
Do not shop hungry here. You will be sorry and your cart will be full.Your wallet wont mind too much. Price is very reasonable. Also look in the back corner for imported ICE from JAPAN. Seriously??
Best prices for bulk as well as hard to find items. The grocery is cheap and high quality as well. The store clerks and stockers are friendly and just awesome. I highly recommend coming here for weekly grocery needs or to find hard to find Japanese grocery related goods.
Not too crowded, easy parking, lots of Japanese items to choose from, I like it better than the other Japanese markets.
I love coming here for noodles and snacks, has lots of variety and is a clean market. Only downside is that there isnt as much meat or produce over here. Always come back whenever Im in the area.
I love this place. It has some rotating product from Japan and an amazing selection. The staff is always friendly and I always leave here poor but satisfied. They offer baked goods and bento too!
Super clean store with excellent prices. Dont just browse the produce and food staples, check out their household goods! I found some excellent deals there!
Great little store for Japanese food and ingredients. Plus their sushi and donburi bowls are tasty! The staff is just great too. Extremely polite and helpful.
Local Japanese market. Offers deals on Japanese box lunch in the afternoon.
Seiwa prices are the best around... Along with common staples its pretty much a Japanese Trader Joes! Essential market
Love this place. Incredibly clean & well stocked. Great selection at prices that are cheaper than typical grocery store.
Great prices, no frills and frie dly staff.
We come here when we want to make homemade sushi
Awesome neighborhood Japanese grocery store. Clean, neat, & orderly. Great deals on produce, meat, snacks, & fresh sushi rolls.
Very nice and clean grocery store. Well organized and friendly service. Not crowded and easy to find parking.
Really good deals on Japanese food and their bentos are sometimes on super sale before closing. Ill definitely be stopping by to restock on all my Japanese ingredients again.
