A narrow stock, but if they have what you want, youll save money. Never seems crowded. Staff are friendly. Good bakery and wine selection is surprisingly good.
Selection is suuuuuper low. I don’t think you’re going to get all your groceries here. There might be some good buys but there’s no way you can do all your shopping here.
My favorite place to shop. Just checking out can be really slow. Not enough staff at times.
Very good selection of food. Clean, organized, easy to find what youre looking for, fresh... What more can you ask from a grocery. But they do go above and beyond that. They are about 10 - 15% cheaper than the local Walmart for groceries.
Nice clean store and is usually well stocked. Lots of unique international items you dont find in the other stores. Staff has always been great mostly. Just wish they would have more than 1 register open at a time.
I always love going in here. Always save money. And never walk out empty handed. Some items are a little pricey but others can be a good deal. Love that I can get paper bags, which I can recycle or compost. Have never had any issues and will definitely be back.
Nice clean store. Better prices than most American based grocery outlets on staples. Most store brands are equal to, or better than the name brands (box mac n cheese, Im looking at you) Bring your own bags.
Every time I go there, there is some problem with checkout. The waits are so long, and they keep so few open registers, that I usually end up leaving with nothing because checking out takes so long.Who cares if the prices are good if you cant actually buy anything?
This grocery store is very clean. And the prices are reasonable. Employees are very nice and professional.
I enjoy going to the Lidl next to me. Sometimes the lines are long but they work fast. They have a good selection and great prices. Its usually clean and well stocked
They are nice and pleasant people who work there and the people who shop there are also very nice
My wife and I drove about 20 miles to shop at this Lidl since there will be one just down the road from us. We also want to see how much it compares to the ones we have gone shopping in when we lived in Germany. Close but still not the same. I wish that you could buy the exact same products that you find in Germany (canned and boxed goods etc.) in the stores here that way you will be getting a real choice of the food you want to eat. We still liked the store though and we did pick up a few items that we wanted and have not found in some of the other stores we shop at. Prices are reasonable to any of the other stores we shop.
Some good deals some not
Just a quick stop . Seems good for first time shopping here . Will know better after a few visits .
I love walking around this store! I find things that Ive never had but now cant live without! And the prices are amazing! Lidl fan for life!
I buy a lot of my meats here. Especially grounded beef, grounded turkey and lamp chops.
Prices are better than most supermarkets. Only time will tell if it is because of the novelty and marker introduction or if that is their baseline. They have a great selection I of baked goods. They produce look fresh I and better quality than most. For example avocados u are huge and lower cost than Walmart or safeway.Make sure to bring your own grocery bags.
First time that I have stopped there. I was very impressed.
Great selection, convenience and price!
Killer prices, particularly on their produce and meats. Their selection can seem somewhat limited but they always seem to ahve what you want and at an incedibly low price. Very European atmosphere.
My go to place for all the basics to stock my fridge and pantry. Wish they had more checkout registers open consistently, but the wait has never been that awful. Prices are amazing. And I do love to bag my own groceries!
I love this store need to build on in Madison va. Better than walmart. Nice clean store respectful employees very money saving store
I love coming here during the holiday months because they have lots of European holiday snacks and desserts you wont find any other place or time! The produce and meat is very fresh here and I usually wait to buy veggies until I can make a trip here. The only downside is that theres often a long line until someone can provide backup, but the wait isnt too long.
Very good value on basics such as eggs, butter, veggies & fruits. Good customer service. Very good attention to COVID safety!! Very good non GMO/no antibiotics chicken. Good selection of steaks which are generally very tender. I like the frozen Indian cuisine meals (butter chicken, spinach pander, etc.)
Although Lidl has a bag your own policy to keep prices down, it seems to me that if a customer has a very large order and there are no other people in line that someone should offer to help the customer. I have not only witnessed customers struggling but I have experienced this for myself. Please appreciate your customers and offer support when you are needed.
Very clean and friendly and awesome prices and good merchandise prices to I got a $130 juicer for $30
Great prices, decent selection!
Clean and employees very helpful
Love it! Aldi might have lost me...
Clean store, always end up buying more than I came in for, so their food selection is very good. Nice alternative to Walmart and nearby martins.
Always appreciate the produce and good prices at Lidls. Sometimes items are not always available, but thats part of the low pricing. At times the lines get long, but usually new lanes open up quickly. I cant get everything I need there, but I do shop at Lidls regularly for most of my basics. Its fun to try new products that Lidl offers.
Not a fan of this store. The fruit was moldy, bread was squished. I went to lidl to see the comparison between Lidl and Aldi. Aldi is 10x better. Prices are better, cleanliness is better, produce is better, everything. Lidl’s staff was pretty nice but the store just wasn’t it. If you’re stuck between Lidl or Aldi, always go with Aldi. I also drive 45 minutes just to go to Aldi so that says a lot.
Great prices and exciting finds!
Every time I’m there, it’s always one cashier and a line. I’m just going to stop going by.
Came to Lidl to compare it to Aldi. Prices are comparable, there is a larger selection of some goods, grocery and otherwise, and the store is much bigger which helps with social distancing and allows for getting in and out faster.I rated it a 3 for 3 reasons.1) There is nowhere to bag your groceries. Made it very difficult to keep my daughter happy in her baby carrier while trying to put everything away.2)They were almost completely out of steam vegetables. Only mix veggies and green beans left.3)An associate stood within earshot of me and complained about the job, their inability to study, etc.
Whenever youre looking for something they dont have it but when youre not looking for it they have it
Extremely DISAPPOINTED!! Went there Super Bowl Sunday morning and they didn’t half of what was on sale anymore. 4 days later I go to use the onions I purchased and they were ALL rotten already, all 4 of them, and yes I stored them correctly! The avocados were also so ripe the next day I had to hurry up use all 3 of them! This was my first and LAST time going to this place. TERRIBLE produce that’s either already ripe or just about to rot the day you bye it!
Similar to an Aldi. I have been able to find good deals on food and other odds and ends here. Well worth the look to help keep a family food budget.
Pretty much my go to for all things grocery at this point. We have a great selection of grocery stores available to us in Culpeper yet I still always end up back here. Great prices, produce is some of the best youll find anywhere, great selection of fresh and frozen proteins, friendly staff, I could go on and on. With the rare exception being something on sale at another grocery I always shop at Lidl!
Nobody in the store has a set on them to enforce the mask policy. They are Walmart and target status at this point. Still in a pandemic people...still in a “mask life” era. Good prices and stale candy.
Love this store! They have beautiful produce. Great assortment of products. The prices cant be beat!
I like this store it is always clean and you never know what you will find.
One and done. One visit was all it took to write Lidl off as a viable grocery stop. The prices were fantastic on the canned goods, Ill give them that. But theres just so far Ill go for a bargain, especially if I end up throwing away half of what I bought because it was inedible. Tomatoes kept in the fridge were moldy in 3 days. Ground pork frozen 20 minutes after leaving the store stank to high heaven and was slimy when thawed. Cream of mushroom soup that tasted like melted plastic. And the kicker was the jar of applesauce with mold under the lid upon opening. As a food store, you have one job. Deliver safe, edible food. You failed. My money and I will be going elsewhere.
Nice and clean. Always find something there special
Like ALWAYS...LIDL NEVER DISAPPOINTS ME! CLEAN, QUIET ATMOSPHERE!! Prices GREAT and GREAT QUALITY OF FOOD AND PRODUCTS
Clean grocery store with wide aisles and a nice layout. Lots of organic/natural offerings and their produce section is excellent. Prices have been pretty good for most items. Staff has been friendly and helpful for the most part.Havent had much luck with their shopping app (not the locations fault).Update July 2020 - Taking off a star due to lack of following any sort of Covid-19 protocol. Many employees not wearing masks/not wearing them properly. No one counting customers to limit the number of people in the store - despite this being in their published protocols. Cart disinfecting is spotty - on one trip to the store, there was an employee with a dirty paper towel and NO disinfectant wiping down carts haphazardly with the same towel over and over.
Very friendly people, nice store and very clean and great Customer service
In and out. They open registers as needed, and quickly. Prices are good. No problems.
Clean & efficiently run grocery experience. Their Weekly Specials are significant (ex: bananas @ $0.39 per lb), allowing one to plan meals around them, if you so desire. It is a much different experience than I get as a DC resident, so I make it a regular stop when I visit my sister in the country. Worth checking out!
Good prices, great stock items
I get way more for my money at this place. I always walk out thinking...thats all I spent for all that?!The only reason its a 4 star is that I find that the bread I get from here molds pretty fast. Its been a few times now.
I absolutely love this place and highly recommend it!
LOVE this store. I do my primary grocery shopping here. The prices are great & the food is fresh.
Great prices!
Great food selection and really good deals. Store is always stocked full and clean. My little one loves the kid carts she can push around and checkout lines move fast. Love shopping for produce here and the pizzas cook up wonderfully in the oven.
A few weeks ago, I stopped in to get some groceries and a family of 5 did not have any masks on. They were going all over the store and I had to wait until they had passed to then get the items I needed. I am at high risk of getting Covid and this store is not enforcing customers to wear their masks!!! I spoke to the cashier and informed him of the family of grown adults not wearing their masks and he said that they are not allowed to enforce it or say anything to the customers. When people get infected due to their cowardness and as a company who do not care about the employees well-being, shame on you.
Literally cut my weekly grocery bill for me and my husband in half by shopping at Lidl instead of Walmart! Their produce and bakery are great, they never let the lines get long, and something I love is on sale each week!
I love leidos theyre very friendly to customers theyre very quick and efficient they help you when you need help they have great prices
Dont open a line that doesnt have a cashier in place. Waited with another line that has the same issue for 5 mins. Yes I know everyone is busy and patience is good to have. But when you say something didnt need the cashier to have a nasty attitude.
HATE THIS STORE WITH A PASSION!!I go in to grab litterally 4 things thinking ill be in and out. That was far from the correct assumption. Some strange reason this store has only has one register open and 100 people in the store. Thats a huge inconvenience to those of us with only a hand full of items. I have 4 items that took me 5 minutes to shop and 20 more minutes to check out. This makes no since at all
Some good bargains, most staff friendly. Not happy with breads readily available for anyone to touch and leave or put back! 😥
Great prices
Great store. Love it and the prices
Myself and my wife were rushed by the cashier! But he took his sweet time with the two pretty ladys in front of us! Thats okay because I wont be going back!
Quick way to shop for reasonable priced food and good quality. It is now my favorite place to shop and save. I can go from the parking lot and all around the store under 500 steps. Sometimes I will go to Walmart to get 4000 steps (2 miles) just for one item and waste an hour.
What a great store!
Their thick slice bacon is the best
Nice and clean store, but why is it not obligatory to wear a mask? Not even the store workers that refill the shelves? They have the masks hanging around their chins. Lidl could take a leaf out of Trader Joes book, owned by Aldi.
Friendly and helpful staff. Clean store. Nice variety of items
Got what I needed but checkout was slow.
This place is huge compared to the one in hagerstown.
Didnt have what I needed! They do carry it.
The store is clean and organized. The grocery prices are affordable on a regular basis and more so when on sale. The fresh meat is worth the price. I am skeptical about buying packaged meat at most grocery stores. Meat at this store is not overly salty from preservatives nor is the beef so full of tenderizers that the taste of the meat is over powered. The bakery is an added bonus for buyers of fresh bread, donuts, pastries, etc. In case you are like me and dread public restrooms, the facilities are clean and stocked with paper products. There are a couple cons about Lidl. If you are looking for frozen juice concentrate you wont find it. There are a few other items you wont find such as grits, cream of wheat, and a few other items. Another issue is that the produce is not the same from one week to another. These issues are not a problem since there are many other grocery stores nearby. Overall, the wallet wins and that ranks high on my list. Im glad we have Lidl.
NO CROWD (for a change). Lidl is a very good store for meat, prepared dishes and basics (like seasonings)
Ok but not as their slogan states crazy low prices.
Love Lidls potatoe bread. Perfect thickness and consistency. Their fruits and vegetables are very good quality.
I have been very pleased with the quality of products that I get from them. Sometimes the meats are a little more pricey, but the quality and taste is well worth it.
Decent store. Comfortable temp, clean easy to navigate!
Great prices awesome selection
New grocery store chain of German ownership. Great prices on both private and national brands with many unique items. Great beer and wine selection but mostly unknown brands. In-store bakery makes great breads and rolls. Fresh produce section is always well stocked. Visit weekly to find great deals on special buy merchandise such as clothing, tools, etc. My only complaint is that they are only open until 9PM.
Love this place, great prices. Good produce.
I have been impressed with the selection of food at this location. The prices on a lot of the items are very inexpensive and are good quality. The customer service is solid but not necessarily extraordinary. Overall it is a great store to swing by and find most of your grocery list.
My partner and I shop at Lidls at least once a week. It is far less crowded than Walmart and they carry most of the food items we need. I especially like the sales they have on beef, chicken pork and fish. Their fruits and vegetables are fresh, and flavorful. They carry a nice selection of organic food too. They carry a lot of Italian pasta, and a variety of cookies from other countries. My only negative opinion is that some of their boxed brands taste funky and not at all like the similar product from other stores. I have tried their brands of Mac &Cheese and wheat thin crackers but had toss them because the flavor was truly awful. I diabetic so my taste buds are compromised and I dont always taste things as they should be. Customer Service is great! I highly recommend shopping at Lidls.
Each experience is always satisfying. They always have what I am looking for, as well as a few eccentric items that peak my interest. Overall, all of my experiences with the store have been positive thus far.
Very happy with this store, the meat prices are the best in town
There are some REALLY great deals on the basics like sugar and spices. There are lots of brand names, as well as their own brands, and they have something for everyone. Lidl is probably my favorite place to buy groceries because I know I wont break the bank.
My first visit to lidl was everything I imagined it to be and more. Great prices and amazing selection of German foods!
This is now my chain to shop. The food is dirt cheap and taste as good or better than brand names. Their bathrooms are good enough for royalty!
Nice and clean place. The produce is of high quality.
Great place to shop, tons of sales and discounts. They have a really great wine selection and a lot of really good odds and ends at a decent price. Parking is good, even though they dont have a ton of people on staff they manage to make it work so lines arent awful
Its a nice grocery store and they have some unique and different items but not enough to win me over from my usual grocery store. They do have reasonably priced organic milk and cage free eggs, so I will go back for those items. We tried their cheese pizza and it had a strange aftertaste. Produce was okay. I bought a bag of onions for .99 and theyre pretty rotten only a week later. Get what you pay for.
Unreal pricing and interesting products make this a great grocery store alternative. A little daunting at first but you figure it out quickly. The center aisle is always worth looking at. Bring your own bags and play the game Who made this? as you will see several familiar packaging designs.
I just love this grocery store! It has most of what I need and those few things they dont carry I can find at another store almost across the street. Prices are fantastic and their food is great. This has become our go-to grocery store.
Good food and prices. Never enough cashiers.
Usually I am very satisfied with my shopping but today I bought a mini watermelon and it was spoiled. I tried to call but there are only unlisted numbers. I live In Bealeton and was putting my groceries away and decided to cut the watermelon. It was inedible. I am very disappointed. I will take the watermelon back since I cannot talk to a manager.
Very clean and well organized store but shop early or you will run into limited supplies of some items. Staff are helpful. Good selection of affordable organics.
So so
My favorite grocery store. We love the many store brand items that to us taste as good as or better than national brands. The sales are always great and its fun to find German items that I remember my Grandmother serving when I was a kid.
Was decent prices
