Scheduled an appointment a week out. Arrived at appointment time and they did not have one of the materials needed to complete my oil change. No problem however that took almost 30 minutes to find out. Then they called around to see if they could order however it was not available so after another hour I find out I won’t be able to get the oil change and we agreed to reschedule so that it could be ordered and ready for my return. He was very nice and I assumed when I returned everything would be ready. I come in again, not only did I not have an appointment but the same thing I needed was still not available so I basically had to start the whole process all over again.I’m not happy about wasting so much time. The only positive is every single person I have encountered was absolutely nice.
Randolph, the Manager, was absolutely incredible! He was extremely hospitable, timely, and professional. I went in for a tire change, and he told me that there was a long line ahead of me and that my car wouldnt be ready until the end of the day. He got me an uber home, and within 2 hours he called back and said it was ready! Randolph and his team should be recognized for his hard work and hospitality.
I wanted to share my experience this past Sunday, August 22, 2021. I woke up with a flat tire here in Uptown and Pep Boys is only a few blocks away so I took my car in and a young gentleman name Alex was very professional, caring enough to ensure me my vehicle would be ready in a few hours. I not only received my car in less time, upon arriving there he handed me my keys and said no charge it was only a plug. The overall experience was top notch and I will continue giving them my business. Truly a great experience.
I like Randolph he was awesome. Honest and diligent.seemed serious about taking care of business
I just wanted to write a review on this location, and one employee in particular; the manager Randolph. I have never seen someone display sure EXCELLENT customer service. He went above and beyond to help me with an issue I was having with my car. Truly cared about my concerns and exceeded any expectations. This man is a gem, and I hope he gets the recognition for always doing such an amazing job! I will definitely be returning!
Very Professional I went to 3 different places and was told my services couldnt be done because they basically just didnt want to do it so I ended up at Pep Boys and told the manager what was going on and he told me dont worry he can and will get it done. THE ABSOLUTE BEST service hands down!!!
Randolph is a true professional. I’ve never felt more at ease discussing an issue that I’m utterly clueless in. Concise, coherent, equitable, and kind are just a few of the innumerable ways to describe Randolph. Pep Boys on 4329 Lemmon Avenue will always have me as a customer as long as Randolph is there!
The manager and some of his crew working on my vehicle were very attentive. They provided me with a high level of customer service I havent experienced since 2019.
Randolph at the front desk is extremely kind and helpful. Deserves a large raise immediately. Very appreciative of his help on multiple occasions.
Stopped in while in town for a couple days from Austin for my AC -- service manager Randolph was so quick to assist with the work and ensure it was to my satisfaction BEFORE payment. Also greatly appreciate how I was treated; as a female I typically am treated as if I do not know my vehicle, but did not fave that here. Will be sending any and all of my Dallas friends this way!!
I visited this location because the dashboard tire lights of my ancient Yaris were on and I suspected a puncture somewhere. Randolph took great care of me by checking all 4 tires thoroughly. He didnt find a leak but noted that there were some pebbles lodged in the rim of one of them. After informing me, he went ahead to clean everything out and filled the tires back up. Now its driving as good as new!Im particularly impressed with the level of service I received. To be honest, I started off with some initial reservations after reading the other reviews posted here and on Yelp. However, Randolph was honest, genuine, respectful, and, most importantly, acted with integrity instead of cooking up random excuses to make a quick buck. He has won my respect and pretty much guaranteed Ill be back here for my vehicle maintenance needs in future. Im sure we can all agree that our cars are incredibly important here in Dallas and, being rather mechanically-challenged, Im so glad Ive found a place I can fully trust with mine.
DISHONEST. Avoid this location if you can.Made three attempts to bring my car in to investigate a rattling sound. Made and confirmed an appointment online. Brought it in at the scheduled time and was turned away because they dont take same day appointments. OK... so why did you allow me to make one? Finally got the car seen days later. The mechanic didnt even address the rattling sound (the entire reason I brought the car in to begin with) but instead called and said the entire brake system needed to be replaced along with some other work - to the tune of $3800!!There have been no performance issues with the car, the brakes operate fine - in fact, we just purchased the car and had it completely inspected three months ago.We asked what the rattling sound was and the mechanic said they couldnt even address it because the car was un-driveable since the brakes were metal on metal.Decided to take the car to another repair shop that had done good work on my other car. They inspected and drove the car. The rattling sound was a loose exhaust pipe. No issues with the brakes or anything else. Total cost: $216.Not sure what is going on here, but this seems totally dishonest and possibly criminal?I will never come here again, nor use any Pep Boys. Will report to the BBB as well.
I needed to get my vehicle ready for a road trip. I booked a same day appointment knowing I might need more than just the oil change and rotation that was due according to general service schedule recommendations. I received really competent and hospitable customer service. Randolph handled my cars intake, and we discussed how I might need an alignment, which I wasn’t surprised to hear, after he’d taken some tread measurements. Alignment, okay sure. Lifetime alignment?, lifetime balance?!both for an extra charge? Yes, actually, only because of the excellent customer service I received. Do I want to pay $75+ extra dollars on top of the service I came in for? Typically no, but today I was happy to.
I went to this location after getting a spare on and the person that put my spare on my car said that the tire could just get patched up- I didn’t need a new one. I arrived at pep boys and they told me that I could return tomorrow if I made an appointment so I did. I got there for my 10 am appointment and they didn’t even look at my tire until 11 am. Then they told me the tire couldn’t be fixed so I could either continue using my spare or buy a new one. Obviously I had to get a new tire. This service was incredibly slow relative to what needed to be done and at 10:40 am I even had to remind the employees that I was still here waiting for my car to be serviced because I could see that it remained untouched. I would not return to this location.
Ive had two bad experiences here. I went back after the last time because I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, thinking maybe it was just a fluke. It wasnt. The last time I went to get my oil changed, even though I had an appointment, it took over 2 hours. The entire time Im sitting in the back in the waiting room, I am hearing the mechanics and the clerk yelling and cursing at each other. It was extremely unprofessional, and I was shocked. The mechanic working on the oil change saw me waiting in the waiting room, and came and got me and told me that he noticed that my brakes were bad and I needed new brake pads. He estimated doing the job would cost me about $600.I balked and said thanks but no thanks, and went and had a friend look at the brakes. My friend, who is a mechanic, said he could do the job for $100-150. Another friends teenage son, who knows cars, looked at the brakes too and also estimated that it could be done for about $100-150. My brother, who once worked as a mechanic, also looked at my brakes and estimated the work to be $100-150. So, whats the deal here?I went back two days ago to get my oil changed again. I had an appointment for 7:00 p.m. There was another man in the waiting room who had been waiting for a long time for his brakes to be repaired. I waited and waited, and was still holding my keys, so I knew they werent working on my car. I tried giving my keys to their manager, Randolph, but he wouldnt take them. He said he would come get them when they needed them. Finally, at 8:15 p.m., Randolph came and got the keys. I had an appointment for 7:00 p.m., was there at 6:55 p.m., and they are just now starting work on my car?At 8:20 p.m., Randolph came to the waiting area and asked me what I usually do when they tell me to get my oil changed. I told him that no one tells me to get my oil changed, that my car indicates its time for one, so I come in and have it done.He said that he wasnt sure if the problem was on their end, or on my insurance companys end, but that they were unable to pull up my car on their database to make a claim for my oil change -- which should be free to me under my insurance. He said it wasnt accepting my VIN. I tried to give him my VIN but he waved me away and said he was working on it.At 8:30 p.m., he came and told me he would worry about it in the morning and was going to go ahead and do the oil change. I said, Uh, I dont want to be sent a bill. He assured me that there was no way I would be getting a bill, no matter what, that it was all taken care of, no problem. Finally, at 8:44 p.m., the mechanic came and told me my cars oil was changed and handed me my keys. It took an hour and 45 minutes to change the oil on my car? Oh, and the guy who was there before I was to get his brakes repaired? He was still there when I left. The following morning, I got a call from Jonathan telling me that they told him to tell me to update my VIN with them. I said, Uh, my VIN hasnt changed. Who needs it updated? He said my insurance provider did. I called my insurance provider, and they assured me that they have my VIN and everything is fine, they dont need anything from me. Then I called my finance company just in case and they told me the same thing, they have my VIN, everythings fine.I called Pep Boys back and the guy I spoke to knew nothing of anyone needing my VIN. He said there were no notes in the computer about it, and he was not told anything. So, after all this, Im not giving them anymore benefits of the doubt. Ill be going elsewhere to get my oil changed.
I’m Sarah and I had a horrible experience at the location on Lemmon ave back in January. I won’t go in to all details but my issue just got resolved today because of Randolph. He’s new to that location and has been cleaning house and stepping up the customer service experience. I am pleased that he cared enough to handle my case with care and diligence. Thank you so much Randolph.
Randolph is AWESOME.....displayed AMAZING customer skills....provided ACCURATE information....VERY knowledgeable and informative...Best Customer Experience With An Auto Shop!Definitely will be getting my car serviced by Randolph and his TEAM for all future Auto Repairs.
Really great service here, very professional and kind
Great service, but markedly overpriced once you start looking around. Definitely always booked, so they’re doing great work, but i was saddened to realize I overpaid drastically for brake services. Also, don’t expect to book and appointment and have your car back within an hour.
Randolph was great and made it happen quick!
Mr Randolph Moore took care of me with awesome, honest, and swift work. I will return and suggest friends go here as well for auto work. Thanks guys
The staff was incredible! I had a car battery that suddenly died and took almost all day to jump start and I managed to get it running and to the shop just before close--fully expecting to just come back tomorrow to get it since it was almost 8pm. But the staff was incredibly kind and replaced my battery right then for me. Needless to say, it was a bright spot on a stressful day!
PHENOMENAL, TRUSTWORTHY SERVICE. Came in, was serviced immediately. Randolph and his team were extremely transparent in regards to all the work that needed to be done in my car and did their absolute best to make sure I got a great deal on all of my services. His crew was extremely efficient, explained all of the faulty parts with my vehicle. Finished all of the work in a quick manner. I don’t think I’ve ever received as exceptional customer service as Randolph and his team displayed for me today. My car is running like it is brand new. When I tell you this is the only place I will get my car maintenances in the future and I advised every last one of you reading my review to do the same. 10 out of 10 service. Great job guys and thank you so much for your hard work. -Leslie (2012 Nissan Altima)
The staff was kind and efficient. They performed services quickly. I would highly recommend this location to anyone for car services.
I stopped by on Friday around 4pm after a minor incident on the highway to get my vehicle checked for mechanical damage. They were able to squeeze me in and walked me through to see what they were seeing. The damage was mostly cosmetic so they suggested I call a body shop for repairs. I appreciated the gentleman at the front of the shop for his professionalism and kindness. I felt like he was really looking out for not just me but for each customer he was helping, even the ones on the phone. Thank you!
Tried increasing my price by more than $100 for no reason... not trustworthy
Randall checked my car after I brought it in with a brake light on in my dashboard-turns out my emergency brake on but didnt charge me for the trouble!
Dishonest. They quoted my daughter an absurd amount to get her car fixed. We took it to another shop in town and they fixed it for $800 less than what Pep Boys tried to nickel and dime us for. They have permanently lost our business. Randolph was very kind though.
I’m happy that people leave reviews. The reviews have definitely saved me the trip and headache from doing business with this location.
On point and reasonably priced.
Professional and nice crew
My daughter car stopped across the street from this particular location so one of the techs come check it out and tell her it’s the battery. The boosted her car off only to pop every fuse in the car. Leaving me with a 1000 dollar bill to pay. The tech denied all doing. If you know like I know never go here.. They don’t care what they mess up.. their mechanics are all rookies
Took my Gf cars here and they tried to charge $450 if not more he said for a front brake job. I called the dealership and it cost $60 each side for rotors and calipers. So $330+ for labor? Total rip off!!!Went down a few streets and found a honest mechanic who charged $200 and got the job done in an hour. Car drives perfectly and found a new mechanic.DO NOT RECOMMEND THESE PEOPLE.
Waste of time trying to get a simple oil change for a vehicle they have performed this service on before. Short version, staff was far from helpful, shop looked like a teenagers bedroom. Not impressed.
Youre welcome. The staff was professional and courteous, and my review would have been higher if it hadnt taken nearly 4 hours for service I was promised would be 90 minutes. Getting the wrong parts delivered is not great form, even if its not the fault of this specific shop. The company still has to own it.
Horrible shop to get your vehicle serviced! They will try and take advantage of you especially if you have fleet service insurance. Car Owner Beware!
In mid November 2020 I took my car in for an oil change. This was my second time coming to this location. Between November and late January my car was steering and running fine. Between that time frame I hadn’t used my car much due to being out of town and recently losing my job due to COVID.On January 27th, when I decided to drive my car wouldn’t not steer. It was so tough to steer that I had to literally use both hands to turn the wheel. So, I called a mechanic to take my car and do a diagnostic on it. We looked under the hood and seen that in the steering fluid reservoir there was still fluid in it, so he said most likely there’s a break in the power steering fluid pipe/tube. Once he flushed out the actual reservoir he said ENGINE OIL flushed out with a little trace of power steering fluid. So he said that with the Engine Oil being in the actual reservoir it caused more damage. This extra damage I was not expecting to be coming out of pocket for. However I ended up coming out of pocket a total of $490!! My mechanic asked me who looked at my car last and I told him Pep Boys. He told me to call and make a complaint because this caused major damage and could’ve been worse.I called the store and spoke to the manager Casey. I told him about the issue and he simply replied “there’s nothing we can do about it.” I asked there’s nothing at all? Not even reimbursement. He responded back that there would be nothing he can do. It’s been too much time and that it would’ve been too silly to mix up putting engine oil in where power steering fluid is supposed to be. I said I understand that it could be possibly hard to confuse the 2, but there’s also the possibility that Charles(the mechanic) did accidentally mix the 2 up. He said again yea, that couldn’t have happened. I responded back with, but it did. Another mechanic found Engine oil was found and damaged my power steering fluid system. He even put it in the notes. No one else has looked at my car between November and now because there was no reason or cause to have anyone look at it. Until now.So, when it seemed that our conversation was going around in circles I asked to have a corporate number. His response was that this issue isn’t going to get resolved and that when I call customer service it was going to go right back to him and he’s gonna have to tell me the same thing that there isn’t anything he can do. I said, despite what you say I still would like to call and document this. I also asked for his boss’s number and before giving it to me AGAIN he said he’s just gonna tell you the same thing I’m telling you. I told him well that’s fine I still would like both numbers to call make a complaint and document this. He gave both numbers and we hung up.I called his boss J.J. first and didn’t receive and answer, but I left a message and asked to be called back at his earliest convenience. Then I called their customer relations line. Once I spoke to a representative she told me that any complaint can get escalated to a higher authority to get the situation properly handled. Once there a complaint of this nature it puts their store in a black zone and it needs to be handled right away. She took my statement and information.I’m very disappointed because I trusted them with my car and someone there made a mistake which led to further damage on my car. Casey the manager was so nonchalant about my complaint and didn’t want to offer me any help. I need for them to have more sensitivity and empathy towards the customers. If at YOUR level of management you’re not able to assist me offer me assistance at a higher level. Even though he didn’t offer and I had to ask, DONT beat around the bush with a customer. Just give them the next best solution! Which in this case I asked for numbers to his manager and Customer Relations, which I received but only AFTER the fact he told me there was nothing THEY can even do.
Fast and friendly service by the staff mechanics, and thats the reason for the four star; however, the management will spare no efforts to inflate the bill regardless if work/parts are necessary or not, and will add up false work and change costs to bring the invoice to an earlier estimate if the actual work was below the earlier estimate. To me, I will have a second opinion before I attempt to go back there again if I will ever do so
Please be aware that there is some gross oversight issues at this pep boys.I needed 2 rear tires replaced on my car and not only did they charge me for tire sizes they did not put on, they put two different sizes on each rear tire. Even after I explicitly gave them the exact tire size, they still got it wrong.Decided to go to a different pep boys to have the correct tires put on my car because I don’t trust this location.Ridiculous that I would be charged for the tires I asked for while they basically slapped random tires on the rear without telling me.
Went to them to get a diagnostic after my car was highjacked and I heard some noises under. Not only they gave me a huge estimate after keeping the car overnight but also when I got it back the check engine light was on and I never had engine problems yet. And when I told them I would have to come back they coded it but they couldnt print the codes for me. Of course. Never going back. Driving home the light came off, the date was reset, only one explanation they unplugged the battery to make it look like I have more problems. Super bad.
Prices are ridiculous high.
Ill admit, I was a little concerned by their rating when I got a flat tire on a Sunday and this Pep Boys was the only shop open. But they really blew me away! Joe was so personable and communicative. He even recommended a good lunch place while I was waiting on my car. I could tell they were pretty busy, so I walked across the street to Mias and grabbed lunch. When I got back, Joe was kind enough to chat with me until my car was ready. (I think he could tell Im a talker and was willing to humor me.) As other customers walked in, he effortlessly got them situated, and then resumed our conversation. His customer service skills are really top notch. The new tire is great, wasnt exorbitantly expensive. Based on my experience today, really cant recommend this place enough.
Had a tire changed, William took great care of me. We made a time where he could get me in and out and he kept both, the time and the fast service. My MDX had a new shoe and Pep Boys scored another satisfied customer. Kudos to William.
Arron and the other gentleman have eased my pain. I was riding around on a spare tire for a couple of days and no one could help me get a new tire on my car because i lost the tire key. Not only did they get me a great deal for tires i also got a great deal on an oil change. If you want to fee like you’re being taken care of and your vehicle is in good hands come see Arron and his crew they go above and beyond.
I forgot that I left this review and made the mistake of coming here again. This time they actually lied about a locking mechanism being broken that I was easily able to verify was fine. Seriously don’t go here.——I don’t normally leave reviews but this service was less than desirable. They tried to give me the wrong service and didn’t actually keep my appointment time. They tried to get me to show up the following day and gave no notice.
The service I received was outstanding. My brake light was on in my Range Rover. I thought it was going to be outrageously expensive to repair since I normally take my truck to the dealership to get anything done to it. I was pleasantly surprised. What would have normally cost me $1000 and up, only cost me $101. I thought I needed new brakes, but I didnt. There was another issue. They repaired it for me and I was back on my way home within an hour. Thank you so much to the Phenomenal staff for courteous, honest, quick service. I will be back for my oil changes.
I am really happy with the customer service. I took my car in to have a steering alignment a few weeks ago, but my car is still pulling to the right. Today I called the shop to discuss having it re-looked at, the manager, Aaron said I could come in and have it realigned. I told him that I would like to wait until after the virus, but I was worried that my warranty would no longer be valid after it passes. Aaron assured me that he will get it taken care of.
Ive never written a Google review before but they replaced the WRONG tire!!I messed up the sidewall of my tire on a Sunday and came straight here. When the service team inspected the car they noticed one of my other tires was plugged, but I firmly told them I was fine with the plug and only wanted the tire with the bubbled sidewall replaced. When I came to pick up my car, they replaced the plugged tire and left the other tire - the one I specifically asked to be replaced - untouched. When I expressed my concern they told me Id just have to pay to get the other tire replaced too. Wouldnt recommend this place. Wait until Monday and go somewhere else!
Integrity. It really exists in the auto repair industry. Never thought Id say that but these guys could have absolutely hosed me a few months ago but, instead, said that because they could not fix the problem - after completely taking the engine apart - they couldnt in good conscience charge me. They knew what it was but wanted Nissan to fix it because they would be able to do it for a whole lot less. I really admire that. These guys were great, especially the one in charge of the place. His name was Bart. Take your car here. They wont BS you.
This place was really helpful and honest in explaining the situation with my vehicle. The cost of service and warranty plans they provided were at a reasonable price. James was the person who helped me and he was great. For 4 new tires, balance, rotation, alignment, lifetime tire replacement warranty, free 12 month roadside assistance it all came to about $972. I recommend this place to anyone for service.
Update: I have still not received a response from anybody even after e-mailing the auto response e-mail from their customer service rep.I was assigned to Pepboys by a third party tire vendor (TireBuyer) for tire installation. This would have been the first time I use Tire Buyer as well.In the e-mail confirmation of delivery from Tire Buyer there was an installation price of $78.00. This was what I had anticipated to pay after instillation. I went to Pep Boys to drop off my vehicle and have my installation complete. Since it was my first time I asked questions to Aaron while showing him the receipt confirmation of Tire Buyer showing the installation price. He mentioned that through third parties there is an assigned price but that we would discuss the information once I got back. I reiterated Tire Buyer was quoting me an installation price of $78. He said that was correct but that with that I would need an alignment. I asked if that was included in the tire buyer package quote and he said yes.I say okay and left my car there for installation.Closer towards 4 o’clock I hadn’t received a phone call or e-mail notification saying my car was ready for pick up so I took it upon myself to call and check in. Aaron forgot what I had left my car there for and continued to ask me identifying questions to figure out what I had gotten serviced. While on the call I ask him to confirm what price i’ll be paying and he says $215.00. At this point I am obviously upset but inform him I will be by to discuss. When I pull up I see my car parked in the Taco Bell parking lot and proceed to walk next door to Pep Boys.Aaron is on the phone when I arrive. He asks what i’m there for (yet again) after he remembers i’m there for the price breakdown he says that the reason the charge was so high was due to the installation + alignment. He gives me the prices of each and the total amount still does not equate to the $215.While he’s on the phone with his manager he seems to be going back and forth and says he’s going to “remove” the charges. He then tells his manager that he’s removing the charges since an alignment was not in fact completed and that he had the guys stop once I called in and questioned the pricing. Here’s where my concern of an unethical practice comes in. This rep. had every intention of charging me $215.00 as quoted over the phone UNTIL I combatted the price by voicing my concern of his misquotation in prices and understanding for him to then say the alignment was never complete and that he would remove the charges? Assuming I would not have combatted the pricing he would have charged me the $215 without an actual alignment being done. I furthermore did the math and the installation price + alignment would have left $60 unaccounted for. Where was this $60 difference going? The entire experience was extremely misleading and I need someone to look into this and offer a resolution.
I don’t normally write reviews, but the service was fast and impeccable. I’m smears skeptical to take my car to shop as a woman, but these guys had integrity. Grateful to find a place near my home in which I feel comfortable bringing my car for service.
Being generous with 2 stars... called around 1:30 pm to ask if they do inspections, if I needed an appointment and what all I need to bring. All questions were answered and was told to “come on by” as they take walk ins. Perfect. Drove about 25 mins, 8 months pregnant by the way to get here and they act clueless as to they don’t know who answered the phone and cc’dsaid can’t do inspections because their printer was down. Even asked if they could just email it to me, I can print it.. no can do. Mind you I did call the service desk prior to coming in, your think everyone was aware of printer issues. Also they didn’t really offer any advice as to surrounding places I can go. Thankful for one of their customers who told me about a place down the street.
Have you ever gotten that feeling in a car repair shop? You know that feeling. Its the one associated with people who sell cars or vacuums or insurance. All of these products require an intimate knowledge of their inner workings to ascertain their value. Some of the people who sell them understand that they can take advantage of your ignorance. So they up the pressure, force you to make a quick decision, and dont give you all the facts. Not all people who sell insurance or vacuums or car repairs use these tactics. But I got that feeling at Just Brakes. Im not saying that they were outright deceitful, but I definitely do not trust them. The style with which they sold me their services made me second guess their intentions. You and I both need a mechanic who can tell it like it is, look us in the eye, and help us understand that were making the right decision by trusting their assessment of our vehicle. For this experience, look elsewhere.
AMAZING experience and we will be back! We had our front brake pads replaced at another brake repair place this past weekend. As we were coming home this evening we heard a horrible sound on the front left side of our H3. We pulled over and discovered the retaining pin came out of the brakes because the cotter pin was not installed which would have prevented this from happening. I googled a brake repair center near me and one of the centers was Just Brakes on Lemmon. I telephoned and spoke with Mitch and explained what happened - it was 6pm. I let them know we could be there in 15 minutes and asked if they could look at it. Mitch said sure and took my name. We arrived 15 minutes later and were greeted by Mitch. We gave him the pin and the keys and went into the customer waiting area. It was immaculate! There was complimentary coffee, television AND the restroom was clean, too! Mitch got us taken care of and on our way in less than 30 minutes! Total greatness! Thank you Just Brakes!
Fast, Friendly, Fair PriceNot your typical auto shop experience. Overall process was quick and the auto technician, Nick, took the time to physically show me the wear on my brake pads. Great experience! Definitely coming back for future checkup on my car at this location. I would highly recommend Just Brakes on Lemmon.
Tried contacting this location twice on 2 separate occasions about tires and each time i was stuck speaking to a rude guy named Shawn. He was very dismissive of my questions and not only that, kept blowing his nose in my ear while on the phone. I would’ve preferred to come to to this location since it was conveniently close to my job but I’ll stick to the lovers lane location.
Enter the shop with caution, long repair time/wait time, lost payment/fuel cards etc. Lastly, upon picking-up the car I was asked What was done to your vehicle again?, as if the Rep had no idea what my vehicle was there for the past 5 days. In addition, the initial repair was quoted 2 days....Not a good experience.Follow-up, 12-16-2018, check engine light is still on after $1100 service order, grease on the drivers carpet and no resolution has been remedied. I was able to email the contact of the response below and have not heard back in over 3 weeks.
Be careful with Paul, he will try to charge you twice as much on tires. I just called this store, they show 2 tires that are on my price range on inventory, but he said he doesnt have any without checking his stock. So he offered me the most expensive one he has. Shame on you Paul! I drove all the way from Forest lane just because they told me you have the product I wanted.
I was advised by James (manager) 12/12/2016 on a 2004 Toyota Highlander 146k miles on replacement of wheel bearings. At the time, it was quite obvious that one wheel bearing needed a replacement. James offered a special time deal to replace both wheel bearings. I, not being too keen into auto repairs, decided to replace one at the time because the service advisement was such. He made it sound like wheel bearings just go out but were unusual. He also said that most likely I wouldnt need to replace another one. They also put on additional fees on the original invoice which I had taken off ($35).In a month or so (2/01/17), the other wheel bearing needed replacement. I contacted James to give an overview of the deal once given in attempt to lower the price of $488 for one wheel bearing replacement. However, James was unable to lower the price and asked for about the same price again +/-$60 (wow such a great deal)!!!Go to another shop to get repairs!!!! They aren’t comparable to other shops and will rip you off!!! Other auto repair shops are much cheaper $100-200!!!!!!!!!!!
Great experience. Went in for oil change, break job and inspection. In and out in about 2 hours. Mitch was awesome and made sure to not just show me what needed to be fixed, but made sure I knew what he was talking about by answering all of my questions. I am sure to continue going to this location from now on. 10/10 would recommend.
Fast, clean, friendly, the service provided was above & beyond. Best experience ever for my first visit, will definitely be coming again, big thanks to Paul & Aaron! (:
They just tried to scam me. Yesterday I took my car to a Nissan dealership and they gave me a report back with all of the work I needed done, which included brake pads & the rotors needed to be turned. Because Nissan was high I called Just Brakes for a price quote & they were significantly cheaper. My Nissan dealership even said if I could get it that cheap to go with Just Brakes. I came & told the guy what I needed & he seemed disappointed that I wouldnt go with higher packages he was trying to upsale me. I went with the basic $99 package and just as I anticipated he came back telling me that all of my rotors needed to be replaced DESPITE me telling him Nissan already told me that they needed just a rotation. (Nissan doesnt have an incentive to tell me I dont need new rotors if I really do, but Just Brakes has an incentive to tell me I need $300+ more work than I came in for). He kept iterating that $99 would be my price as long as I didnt need new rotors...because he put so much emphasis on that before even looking at my car, I felt a scam coming on, which is why I wasnt surprised when he came back with a mouth full of lies.I even called my dealership back & he confirmed I absolutely did NOT need new rotors & that my rotors could be rotated 3 more times.Seems to me the attractive price is just to get you in the door so they can reach deep into your pockets on made up repairs when you get there.Update: today I went to the Just Brakes on Camp Wisdom and got the most amazing service EVER & guess what? nothing was wrong with my rotors...thank goodness for honest service men.
I called them and made an appointment for 10 AM and explained to them that I had to be at work at 6pm and I get around there and was told that I dont have an appointment. (What...!!!) But.. Was told no problem and was assured that I probably wouldnt be there 30 minutes. well .... I took my 2001 Buick regal in for a.c repairs or to find out what was going on with the a.c and was told that it was going to take a few minutes they took my keys and showed me the waiting area. While sitting there waiting with other customers someone asked me what was I having done to my car? And I said have my a.c checked. They All started laughing and saying that they hope i brought lunch and dinner. And I explained to them that I had made an appointment. And they all said that they did too. Well... Every hour or so someone would be told their car is ready or whatever. I look up and its 4:23pm....!!!! I complained and walked out to the service area and my car was sitting parked where I had parked it. A worker came out and told me that they are about to start on my car Now. Now.... Its 4:36. I asked how long is it going to take ? He said probably a hour and a half. I said give me my keys. And went back inside and told them how messed up this is and they apologized and offered a free oil change I declined and sweated All the way to work. Thanks pep boys. I think I will try the other one in garland Texas.
Avoid this place at all costs. The employees are rude and incompetentI needed a turn signal light changed. Usually a quick job. I made an appointment for 2 pm. I show up about 5 minutes early and am told they will be right with me. 15 minutes later they finally check me in and Im told they should be able to get it done within 30 minutes and theyll call me. More than an hour later, no call. I walk back and am told we will be with you shortly. Another 10 minutes they come out and tell me they havent started. Hes not apologetic and appears like he doesnt give a f.Some guy that came in after me had an oil change, brakes aligned, etc and was done before me. Sounds like he was t happy with their inability to diagnose a grinding sound problem.Ive used multiple pep boys in the past in other cities and was never treated like this. Avoid these guys
This is the third time in a row that Ive had an appointment for a simple oil change and its taken 2+ hours. The first time I chalked it up to a bad day, but this place is consistently understaffed and frankly have no intention or even the capability to provide services in a timely manner. Today was the last straw...when I showed up for my 12pm appointment, they advised me it would be at least 2 hours before they could even begin the service.
They was rude it took over 3 hours on something that takes an hour between the screaming and cursing Im not going there again
Very good place love the customer service fast and speedy
Be cautious about coming here. I drop my car off was told it was three cars ahead of me they offer to take me home and call me when my car was done. 5 hours went by I called yo check status was told to wait. Or pick it up. I needed this job done wait for 3 more additional hours for them to fix a break light switch. Drove my car off and it stopped on me down the street. My car drove perfectly fine until I came here for a minor break light switch repair.
Quick, easy, everything is affordable, best price! Love this place.. The staff is super quick and sooooo nice. Management staff (James) was also very helpful in getting me everything I needed done at the best price! Thank you for the great service. Will be coming back. Highly recommended for anyone needing service!
Booked online appointment in the morning for 430 pm. Received email confirming appointment. Showed up at 4 and checked in they took my keys and let me sit there until 545 then came out and told me they were booked up and couldnt service my car and sent me away.
Since Tire rotation was due on my car, i chose their Conventional Oil change (it has free tire rotation part of this package). But during the service, they were too hesitant to do it and said me tires are not due for rotation, good tires are at the rear and that is recommended for safety. So it is proved that front tires are wearing faster. If that is the case, after some more miles, front tires would have worn even more and if you rotate, it is going to create more safety issues, simple logic. As a customer, i know my tires are due for rotation and i just requested them to do that on my car as part of their oil change package. But they are fooling the customers by saying all these stupid excuses. I felt, they are just saving their labor._ I received a call from the customer care and the above said issue was taken care off with no additional cost. Thanks.
My tire blew out conveniently next to this Pep Boys. They came across the parking lot, brought it to the shop, and fixed it for me. The guys were so wonderful and helpful and very considerate. Would recommend. Donald, Carter, and Michael were outstanding.
Needed my tire repaired in a hurry. Was in and out within 45 min. Great customer service!
Mediocre service. For a single problem of my car I have already visited 4 times, but not resolved completely. Instructed to take care of few other small problems but they were also not resolved. Moreover it is pricey here. I would suggest you to go somewhere else.Edit: I went to Pep Boys on 30th Oct 2018 and asked there to replace the windshield wiper. This is a very simple task. When I checked, I realized that either the wipers were not installed properly or it were not meant for my car model. I dont understand, how can you do that. I would reduce the rating to 1 star.
Awesome guys at this place. I was on track to spend $1200 at the dealer but these guys had the same parts for a whole lot less. Theyre very honest as well. I was ready to spend $500 on new brake pads, rotors, and a brake line flush, but they told me straight up the brake pads and rotors were in good shape and all I needed was new brake fluid since it was dirty. I value honesty and these guys sure did show it. Lastly, I bought a set of tires as well and they price matched another tire store close by. I trust these guys and I will definitely be coming back here over the dealership.
I went there to change the Windshield blade for my car in the morning of 30th Oct 2018. The wiper was replaced by the technician. But when I checked, one of the blade was not coming down properly and it was noticeable. I talked to service person online about this issue and I was told that it would be replaced and I was asked to visit the branch again. I went to get it replaced on the same day in the evening. But I was told that it was normal and all sorts of rubbish explanations and completely reluctant to change it. I also came to know that I was charged more than the said price. FRAUD! I will never ever go there again. I will rate ZERO for their dishonesty.
The guys here were very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend coming here to get Tire work done they are very reliable and go the extra mile.
Left corporate car for a tire replacement and oil change. Said it would be a couple hours. Came back over two hours later, car was still sitting in the parking lot with no work done. They said they were going back and forth with the corporate vehicle company. I called the company and got it addressed immediately. They said it would be 30 min so I waited. Took an hour and fifteen minutes. Left and noticed on the invoice they never did the oil change, had to take it back again.
The staff at Just Brakes are always great when I need any service performed on my car. Its typically something as simple as an oil change but I know that the work they do is thorough and they will bring to my attention any other work that may need to be done. I would definitely recommend Just Brakes #05 to anyone that needs friendly and quick service! Wouldnt take my car anywhere else.
Definitely my go to spot for car problems! They’re as honest as it can get when it comes to trusting mechanics. Especially the manager who went out his way to work on my car for DAYS until he figured out the issue! Plus if your car is not drivable they have a tow company that’ll come out for a very low price which off top saves you a lot of money. GO HERE!
Great customer service and very friendly staff! They were very honest about the issue I was having with my car. Would highly recommend this location.
Went there to get a basic brake pad change. They put my car up on the left to inspect it and also walked me over to look at brakes condition myself. The employees there were very nice and helpful. My only complaint is that it took them 4 hours to change my pads cause they were out of stock of the high performance pads that i requested to have put on, but the manager got in his car and ran over to auto zone and picked the pads up.
Inattentive staff, lost tireThis location “never received” my special order. It was signed for. UPS is opening an investigation. I now have to wait another 5 days to get my tire replaced and am essentially without a vehicle.
Really helpful, courteous service. They gave me a ride to a meeting I had while they worked on my car, and then Nash stayed late on a Sunday--well after closing time--so that I could get back in time to get my car. Definitely above and beyond.
I believe that this place is under new management within recent months. Took my bmw in for brakes that had some squeaks toward the end of the day. The manager James was polite and professional. After taking my car back, lifting it up and removing the wheels for inspection, he invited me back to have a look and go over the plan. Im not a brake mechanic but I do know a thing or two and am familiar with what to look for as having done others in the past. I agreed with just about all he said and the parts that he suggested for an all around proper repair. Brakes are important and although it was more than I was expecting to spend, I agreed after offering a small discount. Still much better deal than the bmw dealership down the road. It took about an hour and half to two hours for the technician (very capable and knowledgeable) to finish. In the meantime I was offered a ride back to my house from the manager which I did. Not something I was expecting but with that Id say their customer service is excellent. No complaints from me as of now. I plan to go back for other minor service issues that may arise, oil changes, etc. They sure earned my business, plus the guarantee that comes with these new brakes, this experience is hard to beat.
No transparency in terms of when they can do vehicle inspection. Guy at desk changed his story about when I can get it done 3 different times then caught an attitude when I just wanted to know if I could get it done the next day after 5 pm. Seems like a disorganized mess with a terrible parking situation
My situation was straightforward. It was a holiday and there werent many cars being serviced, so I walked into a great situation. The work was done in the time they promised and they alerted me about impending issues with the car. Even though it was a simple oil change, Ive been in situations where mechanics have given crappy service or have found a way to screw something up, so I appreciated the efficiency and the service here.
I needed my brake pads replaced and looked at reviews for places near me that were open Sundays and here is where I ended up. I made an appointment for Sunday at 10:00am... arrived at that time but did have to wait in line. I didn’t mind- I could see they were already busy. I finally get to the register and told the guy about my appointment to get my brake pads replaced and told him that I would also like my vehicle inspected. I was then informed that the mechanic had JUST made it in so they would have to keep my vehicle all day. That inconvenienced me a little but I really didn’t have anything too pressing to do today so I just called one of my friends to pick me up and take me home, whatever. I got a call at around noon telling me how much it was and that they had to get the parts but that would only take an hour or so. I agreed to the costs and reiterated that i would also like my vehicle to be inspected... only to be told that that guy didn’t show up today so they couldn’t do it.... so another inconvenience. I don’t really like to complain so I just said ok and kept it moving. Anyways, later in the day I realized that it was about 10 until 5 and i still had not received a call back about my car (they close at 6pm) so I had to call them back and ask when my vehicle would be ready. The guy that answered the phone said they were just finishing up and that I could come pick up my car at around 5:10-15ish... cool. I got my mom to drive me back and pick up my car but as we were on the way, I received another call saying that they actually got the wrong part for my rear brakes and it was too late to order them today so my vehicle would have to stay there until TOMORROW. So far, I’m not entirely sure how I feel about this place. At the very least they called to tell me it wasn’t ready versus me driving all the way up there and finding out.... but at the same time, I feel like I should expect better. I understand things come up but this whole experience has been such a hassle from finding multiple people to give me rides to finding out they couldn’t do my inspection... and finally finishing it off with my car having to stay there until tomorrow. I had to borrow my sisters car just to get to work tomorrow and I won’t be able to get my car back until tomorrow evening because I don’t even get off work until 6pm and then I have to drive all the way home, get my child, pick up an extra person to drive my sisters car back once I get mine..... And it’s just a lot, I’m my opinion. I wish it could’ve gotten done in one day but that was not the case. None of the employees were rude at least... just very disorganized. I guess I just feel like I’m going to be paying a lot of money to be inconvenienced
ALWAYS taken care of and respected like family! I love Pep Boys and I encourage customers to switch to Pep Boys!!! 💪👌
Great service. Got me in and out within 30 minutes. Went in for a new battery, no problems at all. Would recommend to a friend.
Went in to get my girlfriends brakes checked. They lied to us and said our rotors were bad and FRONT BRAKES were basically gone. When the took us out to look at the car he said see your front brakes are gone. I said I still see a good amount of metal on the brakes. They quoted us $525 for new FRONT ROTORS and FRONT BRAKES. Went to a different company that looked at it and said we still have 30-40% left on our brakes and our rotors are really good, the squealing sound we heard was just BRAKE DUST IN THE HARDWARE AND THEY JUST NEED TO BE CLEANED OUT. Never using JUST BRAKES AGAIN.
Went to this location with a groupon. First, called the place to see how long an oil change was and was informed roughly 30 minutes for that day. Immediately, hopped in the car and went in. I cant remember the guys name but he was very friendly and explained how everything worked. Informed me about some additional issues and routine checks that were coming up, but was not pushy with it. Overall great staff that treats customers well!
Got an alignment done here. They found something was loose and tightened it for me free of charge. They also give you complementary Lyft rides to and from where you want to go while they work on your car. The staff and manager Eric are very friendly as well. Great service and would recommend!
They did a wide range of work for me on my Infinity FX and did a great job of it. Brakes, fluid changes, shocks, filters, etc. Elvis was very helpful and even took care of me a couple of months later when I had a minor issue by rotating my tires and helping my car drive even better. And at no charge! I will be back as needed. Thanks for taking care of my car!
I went in a few months ago to get some brakes changed on my Escalde.. They did a great job and offered me many other services. One thing i was really impressed by was that they were able to fit me in there schedule at the last minute. I have had no more problems. I will do futures services.Thank you,
Bart helped me out with getting a alternator replaced...battery also needed to be replaced. With warranty only came out to $280. Car seems to be functioning just fine.
Found myself in need of tire repair early on a Wednesday morning. Their competitor wasnt open until 8 and didnt have any appointments until 5:30 p.m., so I gave Pep Boys a try. Not only were they open early (7:30), they were able to identify and repair the problem in under 15 minutes. I made it to work on time! Very friendly and helpful. Id highly recommend.
The service of my vehicle was good and they were nice. The only thing is that they damaged my vehicle. There was a huge scratch on the front and my diver seat and glove compartment was all full of grease stains. You would think they would be more careful with your personal property.
