My daughter brought me here for my birthday, we had Afternoon Tea. The food was not only beautifully displayed, but was so delicious! Our favorite teas were the peach champagne and ruby cup. The atmosphere was lovely and the serves was outstanding! We loved it so much! Bringing my daughter for her birthday in a couple of weeks. Looking forward to it!
Drinks are easily made vegan. Only vegan food option was white bread; however their awesome staff brainstormed with me to create a nutty jelly sandwich on their vegan white bread. There are several picturesque dining areas with blooming flowers, full English high tea table settings, an adorably painted shed, and more.@YourQueerVeganAunt
This is my new reading/ tea joint. The only reason I dont make it out here more often is that they close pretty early and I sometimes have to make do with Wild Detectives.
Simply the best tea and pastries in Dallas. Highly recommend making the reservation for high tea.
Perfect high tea or brunch spot. Great French press coffee and scones and quiches. Very relaxing and charming, i love the sensation and design and luxury of it all to the food. Very good food. The atmosphere is very welcoming and peaceful. Love the pastries. Extremely gracious and helpful. Fantastic service at a great price. The staff service is good. Staff is very friendly.
Well the house is cute and the Decor is very nice. At first I thought I made the wrong choice to come here when I saw a very little choice of viennoiseries and other items. Also the name is misleading. It is more a cafe restaurant than a boulangerie. Setting all these aside the croissant was excellent. It came with a warmed fruits de bois compote which was also delicious and for this it is worth the detour. The sable with chocolate ganache inside is ok but had a strange texture and taste. Something was not adding up but I dont know how to describe it. The cappucino was good too.
Is this heaven?? Fancy Tea, baked goods and a tranquil outdoor space. Just go.
Absolutely fabulous. Highly recommend the high tea.
Potpourri of silk is definitely a unique experience. The house that silk resides within is quaint and very charming. When you enter it feels cozy and welcoming, you are then greeted by a very friendly staff as well. The food alone is well worth going, but the tea and latte definitely come in a close second.Pictured:Chocolate ganacheFrench dip w/ Au jusRuby cupRegular Latte, no syrups
A charming tea house and restaurant serving sandwiches, tea, and coffee. We visited the Potpourri Boulangerie during the afternoon for a late lunch and had excellent service. The food was delicious, proportions were very generous, and our servers were attentive and happy to explain the menu and the tea offerings. They also sell fresh-baked bread, loose leaf tea, and pastries (we were too full from lunch to test these, but they looked heavenly!).Its just a short walk from the end of thefree Dallas Streetcar route (Bishop Arts District). We rode the streetcar out from the Union Station stop and had no trouble getting to the restaurant.
Overall great food and cozy ambiance with lots of natural lighting. We walked in at 9am on a Saturday to a mostly empty restaurant. We weren’t greeted at first so we just walked up to the counter and asked about dining in. Service was attentive after we were seated. We ordered the Seasonal Pumpkin Pancake with side of bacon and the Ham Brekkie. The pancake was a delicious and thick cake atop maple yogurt with nut and seed topping and maple syrup. Sweet, spiced, tart, and balanced. The Ham Brekkie (not shown) is a bagel sandwich with a very generous serving of ham with roasted tomatoes and a fried egg on a Montreal style bagel made in house. Highly recommend both.
So I rarely review things but the food and service was so good I am coming back to leave a review 4 months after my visit because I think it would be wrong of me not to showcase this gem in Dallas. My fiancé is a big foodie and hard to impress but when I saw the menu here I was really excited! The entire experience from beginning to end was perfect. Yes it’s kind of pricey but the food, setting, and experience was so worth it. I encourage everyone to go at least one to spoil themselves or someone they love. ❤️❤️❤️
This is my favorite spot in DFW to meet up with friends. Delicious high-quality food, wonderful teas, charming, classy ambience, and I cannot say enough about their service. Everyone from the chef to staff goes above and beyond to cater to guests. They do offer a complimentary cup of tea but you should do yourself a favor and order a whole pot. I seriously have never had anything here that wasn’t tasty (whether that be a savory dish, sweet pastry, or beverage). I love Potpourri!
Best chicken salad sandwich I’ve ever had. Great pork sandwich too. Love the chocolate tarts. I would recommend everyone try a slice of white cake with a cup of coffee (the buttercream icing is my favorite). French onion soup is that perfect savory that goes good with everything. Estevan was the gentleman that helped me I think. He was very attentive and answered all my questions about the menu, and even gave me some great recommendations on traveling to New York (I think he’s from there, considering how good the bagels are). Just wish I worked close cause I would come here to lunch everyday if I could.
LOVE this place! It is a hidden gem. My mom, sister and I have a fun tradition of meeting for afternoon tea. We have visited places all over Dallas (and the country) and this is one of our favorites. The food is all creatively prepared, and beautifully presented. We appreciate that the menu always features seasonal items, and the pastries are to die for! Our most recent visit was over Christmas, and the restaurants tasteful decorations added to the festive ambiance. The service is always attentive. I have never eaten lunch there, but assume it is equally delicious. I highly recommend Potpourri of Silk!
The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The waiter and chef were so friendly, knowledgeable . This place has very nice people who work here! The atmosphere is also very relaxing and the food here is yummy! Perfect high tea or brunch spot. Great French press coffee and scones and quiches. Very relaxing and charming, i love the sensation and design and luxury of it all to the food. the staff service is really nice and amazing.
Lovely little tea room in Oak Cliffs Bishop Arts District. Great Saturday afternoon for the high brow or girlie girls you are acquainted with. Lovely...
Amazing high tea in a beautiful venue! Tea and food served was absolutely delicious, and the staff were so polite. I want to return with my mom someday soon.
Perfect high tea or brunch spot. Great French press coffee and scones and quiches.... Run by this lovely older couple and their chef son. Adorable setting with arbor and fountains in bishop arts!
If youre looking for a quiet place to sit with a friend and sip on a cozy pot of tea, youve found it! This was my first time coming here, but it wont be the last. The atmosphere was relaxing, the service was friendly, the prices were reasonable, and the tea was spot on. Cant wait to bring my family and friends back here again in the future. 😁
I’ve come here before with a group of single friends and loved it. But last time I came, I came with 2 friends that are mommies to the cutest babies. These moms need some time away from home too so I decided to take them out to this place that I thought was great. After we had spent some time there we were asked to leave because we had babies with us. CAN YOU BELIEVE WE WERE ASKED TO LEAVE????(Mind you they were good during that period of time, not screaming half the time or anything like that. They were just doing what babies do.) Trust me you have lost my business AND the business of my SINGLE group of friends too because of this. We are not coming back!!!
We came here for afternoon tea on Father’s Day and had a really lovely time! The space has a bright homey feel to it. The service was great and they served quality tea. The mini sandwiches and pastries were delicious! We will definitely return.
Went here for a retirement lunch with 10 people. It was a quiet, cozy place to share some memories and laughter. The food was great and the staff were all extremely attentive and committed to providing a pleasant dining experience - very well done.
A large assortment of tea and coffee, excellent pastries and cakes, quick service.
Wow what an awesome place my wife and I just enjoyed our anniversary ❤️ lunch and it was try the afternoon tea thats the name of the three-course meal that they serve you to include salad dessert sandwiches and even a parfait oh my very well worth it
Food was great. Our waiter was fabulous. Definitely a repeat for me!
For the past couple of years, this is my absolute go to place for delicious food, kind service (Darrel is great) and peace. The place is a gem & a real plus that they have a free private parking lot in Bishop Arts district.
Perfect describes our experience! Beautifully decorated, great service, delish food and presented well!! We will return soon for brunch/lunch. We enjoyed the high tea experience and I would say it is the best in Dallas.Food was presented perfectly. Can’t say enough great things and it is also BYOB!! Bring your 🍾 champagne!
We have been looking for an afternoon tea and have found our new place! While the tea menu is limited, it is well brewed and very good. The service was terrific and the food A+. I can hardly wait to visit again.
This jewel in a charming old house in the Bishop Arts District offers a refined and elegant version of a coffee shop and tea house - not stuffy or overly formal, just very, very nice. Its the kind of place where you could imagine sipping tea and eating scones with Edwardian ladies in hats. The food and drinks that they offer are fairly standard brunch and coffeehouse fare - but everything is always a notch or two better than I expect - exceedingly fresh, exquisitely crafted, attractively presented, and deliciously flavorful. Once I had a bacon quiche for brunch; on another occasion I had a chocolate tart, and on another I had scones with strawberry cream. All were superb. The breads they have for sale look amazing too. Ive never been for high tea, though I would love to.This is an absolute delight that any food lover in Dallas should get to know!
One of the best kept secrets in Dallas. From the fresh desserts, incredible sandwiches (at an extremely affordable price), teas and coffee, you will not find a better place in Dallas. This place will remind you of France, with a local Texas flair. The restaurant is family owned and operated, also very rare for the Bishop Arts district. Come by, have a sandwich, high tea, and experience the best kept secret in Dallas.
Chris made the most beautiful and tasty cake I have had in a while. Prices were reasonable for the variety and awesome customer service. My daughter was married September 2017 in Red Oak Tx. We had rave reviews from the wedding party.
The decor is elegant and all very beautiful, but the place is not stuffy at all. The food is delightful and inexpensive for how good it is and how good the overall experience is. The staff seemed to genuinely care that we had not just a good experience, but a memorably great one. They care about food and about you. We ordered just a few small baked goods and coffees, but were checked in on and even given an amuse bouche. It is a bit of a hidden gem, but it is definitely a gem.
They did my wedding cake beautifully for the most reasonable cost I found in 2016. I also called with only one day notice for my nieces birthday cake and they came up with cutest design and such a great price! I cant recommend enough!!!
This is a trendy little place to grab a great cup of java. I am fast becoming a loyal fan of this place. If it were not for the lines I would be here every morning.
Indulge your classy side. This place makes you feel about as fancy as it gets. Wonderful food and desserts and drinks for a reasonable price in a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. We feel like family every time we go.
I love the feels of this place along with great coffee and food. If you can grab a seat by the bar, youll enjoy and appreciate your cup of coffee a little more. I really loved the avocado toast.
Renovations are almost complete! Cant wait!
Lovely tea room in Bishop Arts. Love to get a window table and just enjoy the ambiance of what seems like a New England hotel. All their baked goods are fabulous.
So personable!!! Great service and food. Atmosphere is serene and surroundings aesthetic. Food, drinks, and deserts--no complaints.
Very relaxing and charming, i love the sensation and design and luxury of it all to the food. Very good place to also go on a date with someone
Potpourri of silk is a great place to eat at, everyone is very respectful and they greet you as soon as you come in. The service is outstanding, as the servers are constantly checking up on you. I recommend this place to anyone, and will always come here when I’m in the area.
Extremely gracious and helpful. Fantastic service at a great price.
This is truly a hidden gem! Food was excellent and my server made me feel very welcomed. Will definitely return again.
They have every flavor of tea you could want. Get the natural healing youre looking for in a variety of flavors.
My family voted the chocolate as the best cake. I love the breads. The biggest plus here - the family. They are literally the nicest people.
Another lovely lunch and visit yesterday at Potpourri of Silk. It is so nice to be able to go to a pretty and quiet location with pleasant staff. I have been there a number of times and will be going back very soon with a larger group of about 8. Colleen
The atmosphere is very welcoming and peaceful. Love the pastries.
The food is amazing and so is the service. Very hole in the wall and an amazing find
Simply beautiful in every way - the food, the staffs service, and the interior decor. Love love love!
Great ambience. Tasty coffee.
I love love love this place. Great food, beautiful place and amazing staff.
Great atmosphere. The scones were very good.
Absolutely terrific family owned and operated spot on the edge of Bishop Arts. Stop by on a Saturday morning for bagels freshly made. Sit by the fire on a cool winters day. Easy parking (yes - there is a place in BA with that!), speedy wi-fi.
Every course of Afternoon Tea here had some special touches to make the price worthwhile. Ive been to Afternoon Tea in many locations (often mistakenly called High Tea,) and many have excelled in some things - but none got everything right, plus more, the way Potpourri did. The setting was comfortable and our table was beautifully appointed with fine China and doilies (not unusual.) We also had sunshine and a bottle of sparkling water, which was poured for us as soon as we were seated. Our first course, even before sandwiches, was a yogurt parfait with strawberry and, I think, marscapone. Im not a yogurt fan, so I cant believe I ate the whole thing. Then another new course, watermelon salad with a wonderful balsamic dressing. Finally, the three-tiered server with what is usually the first, second and third courses, was delivered by the chef - with explanations of all the made-from-scratch delicacies. We were surprised to see a mushroom mini-quiche added to the tea sandwiches. The cucumber sandwich used homemade cukes with a dollop of something delicious, aioli, and some fresh peas. I had never had an enhanced cucumber sandwich before. The chicken salad had candied walnuts and the avocado (we asked for a substitute from the beef in advance) had an interesting type of cheese. The flourishes put these sandwiches at the top of all tea sandwiches for me. Next the scone course. Only one scone? Yes, but rather large and among the 2 or 3 best anywhere. Often if the sandwiches are good, the scones are not. This was very good. I could only eat one of patisseries - excellent lemon tart with perfect crust and meringue with lavender. Only afterwards I realized there was no clotted cream or lemon curd. But we didnt really miss them, we did fine without them. In fact, best tasting tea so far.
My mom and I decided this review needed to happen, since all the reviews out there are glowing. I had a long, detailed review ready to send but Ive decided to truncate it (and its long). With all the wonderful reviews, we were excited to try out the afternoon tea, and then bring other family members in the near future. That’s not going to happen….This past Saturday, we arrived to have afternoon tea in celebration of Mother’s Day, with a rose for each of us and a pretty setting, which we loved. The place is quaint. Every staff member was friendly and profession. The tea was good and came out promptly (we had Peach Champagne, my fav, and Peach on White). I liked the presentation of the caprese salad, although it took over 30 minutes to receive it (second course). The scones, salad, tart and éclair were good, but not worth the money we paid.Sadly, the staff appeared to have been disorganized, as the service was horrible. The menu is confusing. The yogurt parfait was a dab of yogurt and jam with a sprinkle of granola on a flat plate (totally different from the pictures uploaded by other reviews, so wish I had taken a picture), as it looked more like it would be used for dipping. Long story, short, it took them an hour to get to the tea sandwiches, which were okay (the bread was hard), after we asked them about it (was only on Course Two!). A side note, we saw a couple be seated and after 20 minutes of nobody waiting on them, they left. Anyway, as a peace offering, a waiter gave us spicy, avocado tea sandwich (1 each), which I loved (bread this time was perfect) but my mom thought was too spicy. Mind you, I had to pay $30 ($15 each) deposit when I made the reservation for high tea. The total price tag without tip was $80 ($40 each). Definitely, the worst high tea we’ve ever experienced and the most expensive. The place was busy, which is a testament to their food, I believe, and so we don’t want to give up on this place just yet. We hope to go back to have lunch, BUT we will NOT be bringing any of our family members, from all over the metroplex, and waste our money on afternoon tea. Sigh....
Great food, great atmosphere and Amazing staff!!!Truly enjoy, great time with friends!
Food was ok... I took the bacon and cheese baguette and chocolate croissant. Breathe was heavy and not crispy.
Excellent food and courteous service. My guests raved!
LOVE THIS PLACE! Great coffee, and BEYOND GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!
The food here is delicious! Great atmosphere, the owners are so sweet and what I loved the most were the tea sets and decore.
