I went by there to take a look. Went towards the back to ask a question about RC and drone while employee was soldering iron a battery wires together. I was trying to find out more about the industry of repairing RC. The guy was rude. Didnt seem to give much information. Gave me the cold shoulder. After just spending no more the 5mins in the store. I decided to leave. Will not go back to this store again.

If you are looking for anything RC related, this is the place to go. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

First time patronizing this store. Wandered around a bit to check it out. Not bad.If you are looking for model train stuff (like me), they have a great selection of products on the second level. There is also a wide variety of model planes, cars, and military vehicles.They also cater to RC vehicle enthusiasts, and other hobbyists.They even had a small selection of board games and toys. Even a few D&D 5E books.A little out of the way for me, but worth the trek.

Owner Bruce Boyd failed to return two phone calls to discuss a rookie mistake one of his sales people made. Obviously this guy does not believe in service after the sale. If you want accountability avoid the Mockingbird location and take your money to the Plano Hobby Town. Much better service and Boyd does NOT own that one.

Do not bring your car in for repairs they will break your car burn out parts and then tell you to call the major companies to fix it when theres nothing wrong with it I bring my car home after being told that it was blown and it works perfectly fine I bring my car there in one piece bring it away from there and pieces and burnt parts I bring it home and everything works fine I drove it into the shop and bring it home broken I had to fix it myself I really needed their help I wasnt feeling too good after some leg surgery and I was hoping they would fix it for me but they didnt they made my car worth it and I have to spend more money to get a connector now thanks guy for nothing never Ill come into that store I rather leave my car with a stranger then to leave it there crazy thing my friend just spent 3000$ in a week and they told him to he needed a engine turn out he didnt need one then when we ask them will since we dont need it can we get return it he offered store credit they always do this be aware of with these guys

Great customer service. Im really and truly glad I visited this store today. It was so delightful to interact with Mr. John, Mr. Marcus and Mrs. Brianna on today. This experience has made me a customer for life.

As a local guide of Dallas, Texas, I have concluded that HobbyTown USA is less of a town and more of a big toy store. Honestly it’s unless your into remote controlled cars or model cars HobbyTown USA has a knick knack every now and then that you may pickup and say, “that’s cool,” which is immediately followed up by you setting the object down. The staff is the highlight at the time of my entering they were engaged in a civil argument of which rockstar would win in a fight. Everyone who works there seems to be a nice person. A cool toy store with a great, friendly staff, is HobbyTown USA.

They are usually friendly and knowledgeable in every hobby shop but this one is the best I have been to. Not sure if its because they have a younger team. It works either way.

I am in this shop about once per week. (My wife is not thrilled by this lol) The staff is very knowledgeable and very professional. They have the largest stock of R/C vehicles and parts that I have ever seen, and the only time a part Ive needed wasnt in stock, they gave me suggestions for other parts I can use as well as told me when the part I wanted would be in stock. They even had adapters to upgrade the cheap R/C car I bought online 10 years ago! This is an excellent store and I will continue to come here for all of my R/C upgrades and repairs.

HobbyTown is a really awesome place to shop for any model, remote control, train, and any other types of hobby things you can imagine. The people who work there are extremely helpful they gave great service and I would recommend checking out the store to anybody whether it be a kid or adult.

Hoping that the radio shack section would be bigger, but its still a great hobby shop I will visit again.

So many employees deliberately not wearing masks or not wearing them properly. However, the one employee wearing his mask properly was very kind and helpful.

After attempting to help our son figure out an issue with his RC car for an hour I decide to call and see if anyone was willing to help me over the phone. Nate picked up with his friendly voice and was kind enough to walk us through trouble shooting. It ended up being a battery issue. Going in tomorrow to buy the right one, but was extremely impressed with the customer service and willingness to help!

Staff too busy talking to each other and friends about things unrelated to business. 30 minutes in the store and not one can shut up long enough to open a locked cabinet so they could actually sell something.Edit : Follow up to reply.Of course I asked for assistance, however they were too involved talking to each other and pointed to see another that was just as busy talking about everything but store business. I will not spend anymore of my money here, Amazon will be my go to place now. Plano store is great. Mockingbird location is horrible.

Hobbytown is one of the last few hobby shops left. It would be nice to see the store inventory online vs having to go into the store. I usually find what Im looking for and the prices are pretty competitive. Not the lowest, but Ill support my local hobby shop.

Hobby shops are a disappearing breed and Im glad theyre still rockin n rollin.However I wish they could figure out in this era of covid19 how to do curb-side pickup.I have found that too many times I ended up ordering from out of state shops because I just didnt want to risk going into the store. I would be willing to even pay a reasonable fee for the service.

I called to make sure they had the specific item I wanted. Man on the phone assured me they had them and plenty of them. I get there and the person at the front was like “I don’t think so” then the guy I talked to came over and made a big deal of “oh man I thought you mean the new model”. No apology nothing. I drove 20 miles to get here and couldn’t even say they were sorry and then tried to blame it on me. Thanks for making me never want to do business with you.

My husbands favorite store! Two stories of hobbies galore! We love all of the people that work there. It seems as though each person specializes in some area. Plus if they dont know the answer to a question they are so good to learn with you. We drive about 200 miles just to go here! And for me, a very nice nail salon right next door!
