I had the most unbelievable experience here. I needed a costume pretty quickly for a Vegas themed event, and Joy helped me put it together in about 30 minutes. The price was fair for everything I rented, and the return process was super easy. Cannot recommend this place more highly. They have TONS of costumes, for renting or buying, so you’re definitely going to find what you need here. Love Love Love the entire staff! Thank you!!

SO GLAD I CAME HERE! I didnt see a whole lot when I first entered, they had a little bit of prefabricated costumes. I was greeted immediately when I arrived, walked around looking for something. Then I finally asked what they had outback. EVERYTHING YOU COULD WANT. They had unique, high quality items. I had a gentleman help me and find exactly what I needed and got so many compliments on my costume. Ill definitely be back next year!

Been going here for on off 15+ years. Costumes hanging are starting to look ragged need a good carpet cleaning.Staff are mixed some are helpful and some are like “how dare you ask me anything between bong hits”. IMHO

These guys are pros. If you have any question I encourage you to ask. I am a repeat customer and very happy with the service. This is not your run of the mill costume place. This is the real deal in addition to having excellent quality.

I discovered this great place last year. I wasnt sure what to dress-up as. Since I was a heftier guy, it kinda limited my choices, no matter where I went.As I was looking up costume stores, I somehow came across this Native American costume. It came with a head dress (feathers) but it seemed too simple. Whats great about this place is that they have a local person at the store that can make alterations to the costumes that are for purchase.I told him that I didnt want to have full length pants (to keep me cool) and asked if he could modify the head dress that came with it. So what was great was that he shortened my pant, but he did something additional for the pants bec they didnt have any pockets.He added a pocket to the inside of the pant, so I could store my cash/ID, etc.as I would be walking around in the costume. I really appreciated that he modified the costume and changed the head dress. But ultimately, I ended up choosing a different head dress, which I thought was much more elaborate. He also added slits into the bottom of the shortened pant and to the top.So all in all, I was very impressed with Costume World and I will be going back this year. I would definitely recommend it to my friends! 🙂

This is a serious costume/theatrical shop with serious prices. Need something BIG? They probably have it. They have some cheaper packaged costumes too and lots of accessories to complete your look. I was disappointed they wouldnt offer a discount for a military charity event when Ive had no trouble securing one with so many others.

I have always had a top-knotch experience at this costume shop - far better than the other little pop-up places come Halloween. The staff is the best part, always helpful, knowledgeable and they all seem to be into costuming themselves. Its the only store Ive gone into that theyve helped give me ideas, tips, and have ensured I know how to use certain products (the high end paint, etc.)

Joy was amazingly helpful and nice with helping me pick out effects makeup! Large selection of everything costume and able to order anything not in stock. Definitely recommend!

Literally the worst customer service ever. They never called me to tell me when my request was finished!!! So I call see them.... every time it was “we’re working on it, we will call you back.” They never ever called me. I called on the day I was supposed to pick up my order and they tell me this: “we don’t have the sizes.” I ordered my costumes on Tuesday. And on Friday (the pick up day.) they tell me they don’t have them. AND I HAD TO CALL! To find that out. Awful, disgusting people.

I went into Costume World for Halloween 2014 and there costume selection exceeded my expectations on both there retail and rental side. They have costumes for any occasion. What ever you want to be you can be it. Staff is excellent and courteous. I would highly recommend this store to anyone looking for a costume or looking for theatrical costumes for there school play.

Walked in and the male employee did not even acknowledge my existence. No greeting, no smile, nothing. I browsed around the store and was never asked if I needed help locating anything. Prices were really high even compared to Party City. Needless to say, I was not impressed at all and will never visit this establishment again. I would recommend you skip this place and look elsewhere.

My first stop when looking for a costume. They have to much to offer and are very helpful and knowledgeable with makeup, costumes and accessories for that perfect look.

Tons of cool designs and costumes throughout the ages of man. Very interesting stuff here.

There were rows and rows of costumes arranged by genre and time period. There were plenty of masks. The staff was nice and greeted us upon arrival but left us alone to look around.

I recently rented a headpiece from Costume World, I had been there two weeks prior and a sales associate had quoted the headpieces for $70, I went home to order another headpiece. Two weeks later my headpiece still hadnt arrived, and I had a Halloween party to attend that weekend, so I went back to Costume World and I found a headpiece I liked. When I went to check out I was told it was $135 instead of $70. Even though the price was misquoted I still rented it, honestly due to the embarrassment of being in a line filled with people. I went home to find the headpiece I had originally ordered had arrived so I went back to return the headpiece, just two or three hours prior to renting it.Even though they recognized me I still I explained the situation, I told them I was there three hours prior, I told them about being misquoted about the price, and even though all rentals are final, I still asked for a refund expecting them to make an exception given the circumstance. They refused so I asked to speak to the manager and the sales associate went to the back to get her, I overheard whispers in the back and the sales associate came back and told me the manager was preoccupied. This was both rude and unprofessional because it was clear that the manager was available but refusing to speak to me. They asked for my number and told me she would call me back the next day which she did not. I called back multiple times and kept getting the run around until I decided that $135 was not worth my energy.These employees at Costume World are incredibly rude and unprofessional, I cannot say that they are all that way, but the two employees I dealt with, the sales associate and manager are awful and need some serious customer service training. The experience was horrible, and they not only disrespected me, they also cheated me by raising the price, taking full advantage of their customers last minute Halloween shopping. They should have tags or signage of prices on all items, including their rental items. I certainly will not be back and nor will I ever recommend this retailer to anyone that I know. Terrible customer service experience.

Great costumes and great staff. It was raining real hard and I didnt want to drive over to bring rented costume back so they were cool about it and didnt charge me for taking it back a day late.

PLEASE READ!!!! This is the most unethical renting place. I cannot believe they are still open or have not already been sued. My costume was 24 hours late because I was vomiting the day before and even brought a doctors not to prove it. They charge $95/ day in late fees without even telling you how much the late fee is. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY EVER!! I would give zero stars if I could.

Do not go to Costume World in Addison Texas on Inwood Road unless you want to be ripped off. Their charges are made up on the fly and their late fees are unethical. I rented on a Thursday evening and returned them on Tuesday morning and was charged $125 late fee.It seems the attendant gave me a 5 day rental. On the agreement it says you will be charged the daily rental fee for a late charge. 125/5 = 25 not $125. I understand the owner does not care and will not work with me. Do not support this unethical halloween costume company in Dallas Texas.The Halloween costume that I rented at this Costume world was only worth $50 at the most.

Absolutely terrible experience. Feel like I was manhandled and swindled. They charge rates that are utterly ridiculous for the quality of rental that you receive, and any person who can google can see that most of their rentals can be bought online for half of the price that they are charging to lease their product.Very disappointed. Will not return again.

Ive visited this location a few times over the last 5 years and while I never had the best impression of the place, Im afraid its gotten much worse. Ill not be back, nor will I recommend it to anyone. In the past, you were allowed to walk in and browse the costumes, have a look around at their collections. It was an interesting, albeit very overpriced experience but at least it was entertaining. Not so any more. Once you walk in the entrance, theres the makeup counter, the payment counter and the rest of the store.is roped off with a sign to please wait for assistance. We were told that these days you have to have an escort to look through their costumes and that theyre pretty understaffed so theres a wait. Wow. Okay, so I wont be renting a costume here then, thanks. Ill just buy my make up here. Except thats a problem too. They didnt order but a limited selection of high quality body and face paints (Paradise Aq or Mehron) or makeup setters like Ben Nye so they dont have what I need. The girl at the counter assured me that a different brand was identical to what I needed, even called another employee over to verify the information. They seemed familiarwith the product and I asked if the item could be used with a wet brush (important for correct application), and they both said yes so I guess it should be fine. I gather my items, go to pay for them at the counter and pay more than I ever have for both the same and similar items in the 9 years that Ive used them. Look over onto the counter as Im signing my receipt and notice theres a half hidden sign under some.costume stuff that says NO RETURNS OR EXCHANGES, ALL SALES FINAL. Well, thats great. Im stuck with it now. Got home, proceed to attempt using the makeup and what do you know, its NOT the same thing. At all. She sold me an insanely overpriced face powder, not a face and body paint. I tried multiple times, wasting hours of application and my own expensive products to no avail simply because this powder is nothing like what I wanted. Even the setting powder she highly recommended is junk compared to what I initially requested and have previously used. $45 down the drain. All in all, this place is useless, overpriced and their employees will tell you anything to make a sale and youll be stuck with whatever trash they sell you.

Most of the negative reviews for this company are because they were late in returning their costume. If you rent anything and are late in returning it, of course youre going to be charged. The black haired lady (mellissa ?) that helped me explained the late fee very clearly and stressed that I was going to be charged the rental fee every day that the costume was late. At $260 you know darn well im returning the costumes on time. but she also explained that life happens and if I know Im going to be late to call and let them know. Easy!I found their selection of rental costumes to be astounding, they have everything organized by the dates and they have great music playing. The lady that helped me seemed to know her stuff, she also told us interesting facts about the costumes and how flappers go their names. In the car my wife mentioned that this was one of the best shopping experience we had together. It kicked off a great date night. Thanks for everything Costume World

After hearing so much about this place I was really let down. Not much to purchace, understandable. The rentals were hung on what looked laundry mat auto racks. Nothinh was accessible without help; which was not available. The lights were off in 70% of the shop and the one man working wasnt very friendly.

My daughter had a Michael Jackson performance in a hour...we found everything we need right at this place...thank you...she did a wonderful job and everyone loved her outfit thanks to you all

Employees in the rental area WERE SO RUDE. Tone of voice and facial expressions like I was stupid for asking questions, especially the girl with the long blonde hair. Ive never rented a costume before and was looking forward to getting help and ideas for a costume but the ruined the experience in the place. I wont be going there again!
