I am allergic to wheat Aka gluten so when I find a restaurant that has a totally gluten free menu/kitchen I am super interested to go check it out. I have traveled all over the country the last 2.5 years and I am finding more and more places closer to home that are my favorites. πŸ€—Why is Native Kitchen one of my favorites to eat at you say? The fact that I dont have to interrogate the server on what my gluten free options are? Or if the frier is a dedicated one with no contamination with any breaded products. To can you have the cooks change there gloves before preparing my food was not even in my mind here. What was on my mind? The vast array of natural ingredients good wholesome food I could eat was. πŸ˜‹Then after ordering I was looking around the unique building or old factory this restaurant and other shops are lucky to be in.The restaurant was very open, modern, chic style furniture mixed with old block foundations. I loved the atmosphere 😍.You have a choice of a pretty large area downstairs to a more private smaller upstairs if you like with a view from the large new open window all along the front. As you can see from the photos πŸ“· the bright colors that were used.As I waited I just stared at my favorite color blue on all the old block around me feeling happy. Then my food came out.The gluten free bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich was delicious. πŸ˜‹ I dont know who made them but they bread was the best I have ever had for sure. You diffently need to try them it is a must. Then I had fried potatoes, scrambled eggs, bacon, fried veggies with a fig jam was amazing πŸ‘. Well done and the perfect end to the perfect breakfast. I also tried one of there protein shakes it was thick and could have been a meal too. After eating all this good food I couldnt move but was happy. I could see a play area just outside the window for dogs or kids too.I highly recommend this restaurant you wont be disappointed I promise and tell them I sent you.If you are allergic to gluten, dairy products this is the place for you and all natural.Peace out be safe

This place is insane! My girlfriend and I wanted to try something different and stumbled on this restaurant. Pulling in was slightly confusing because it initially took us to an apartment complex, but once we figured out where the entrance was we found the building was very similar to Krog Market in Atlanta. The building had lots of cool stores and food shops. But back to the food, we were completely blown away. Started with some coffee, I had an iced honey cinnamon latte that was perfectly balanced and sweet. The for food I got the y’all nachos and jam biscuit. Usually it’s a struggle finding a balanced place that offers healthy food that is also flavorful, not here! My jam biscuit was perfectly cooked and tasted beyond delicious. The only thing I didn’t like is that the almond bread starts to fall apart on you, but other than that I wouldn’t have changed a thing. The nachos were spot on, though I should have asked for no jalapeΓ±os because my mouth is a baby and can’t handle anything spicy. You definitely need to check this place out!

Place was empty but for 2 people sitting in back. The guy sees us walk in and nothing. No hello. No instructions on how to get food here. I finally said how do we get food. Oh you have to come to counter and order. Got a menu. Why I dont know. Avocado this Avocado that and plant based butter is all I needed to read. Out the door we went. No not just because of yucky Avocado BUT HOW WE WAS NOT TREATED. I say 2 people was in your place. You had 2 more people to spend money. But nah you did care to take a moment to greet your customers. Ill spend my money where I get greeted. Im not totally against healthy food. But this place showed bacon and eggs. I really wanted breakfast. But we drive and finally found it in a wanna be hipster building designed in industrial look. I knew the minute I walked in. Im not going to get a big fat greasy breakfast. Also I did not smell any food cooking.

We are not from Dalton, but decided to visit Native Kitchen after a long day at the ball field for our little cousin’s softball tournament. The restaurant is located in an old, renovated factory called The Mill. The restaurant itself has a mix of modern and vintage design elements which provides a comfortable vibe. The lady who took our order had great recommendations and took her time describing the dishes and answering our questions. My wife and I ended up ordering one of their local draft beers, Blueberry Bramble, side salad, Veggie Smash, Y’all Nachos, and a blueberry gluten-free pastry. We enjoyed every single dish! Admittedly, the nachos threw me off because they were served with potato chips rather than traditional tortilla chips. However, I enjoyed the β€œnon-traditional” choice in chip. I saw a few reviewers comment on portion size and price - our total was a little over $50. In my opinion, that is quite inexpensive considering we also ordered drinks and had dessert. While I ate my plate in its entirety, my wife took home the Vegan Smash. Perhaps living in metro Atlanta gives us a different perspective with costs and portion size, but I thought it was quite fair.Whenever we come back through Dalton we would certainly consider eating here again! So give it a try - you will not be disappointed!

Located in an old cotton mill the entire place is unique. When you enter into Native it has a cool vibe with an open atmosphere and clean. Lots of seating on main floor or you can go upstairs where there is more seating. A cool thing is, you can grab a drink and walk around the shops in the mill. There is outdoor seating with a play area for kids and it is dog friendly. The food. Fresh and delicious! It’s was so nice to find a place that had so many vegan and gluten free options. We had a power bowl and a loaded sweet potato. Both were delicious. The drinks. My husband said the gluten free 16oz canned beer was great. I had the Lavender and lemon mocktail that is delicious. The Pricing. We felt some dishes could have been priced a $1 or $2 less for what you get. But you are getting fresh healthy food with a beautiful presentation so we’re not going to let the price get in the way. We thought the drinks we had were reasonable. The staff. First it is so refreshing to actually see smiling faces. Victoria and Clare are delightful! Very friendly, joked around with us and we’re very helpful with all our questions.Would we go back? YES!! And we did the next day. We felt as if we had made new friends the night before. Victoria and Clare saw us walk in and had huge smiles on their faces and greeted us like we were long time friends. Victoria even remembered what drinks we liked and got them for us right away. I also ordered a hot coconut milk lavender latte that Clare said was popular. It was very good.Definitely will be back.

With gluten and dairy allergies in our family, stopping to eat on vacation travels is not an easy task. Native Kitchen brought so much joy to my husband and soon as they had several options for dining and dessert. The atmosphere is refreshing and the staff was so helpful. Thank you, Native Kitchen!

Very Clean building, warming employees that bring your order to you. One of the best places to go locally if youre trying to have good time with good friends or even study groups for college students like myself. I absolutely love their food, makes me feel very healthy! I cant leave behind their hot warm lattes, make me concentrate even more on my studies. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

We went here for a late lunch, and it was a great experience! We ordered our food and ate up on the mezzanine with a look out over the restaurant and a view of the outdoor area.My husband and I ate the loaded sweet potato with chicken and the potato mash with veggies, and both dishes were incredible. I have food allergies, and once I made the employee aware of them, he made sure none were in the dishes I was interested in. Unfortunately we didn’t order any drinks, but we’ll definitely try them when we come back again.I highly recommend this place if you are ever in Dalton!

For a 20$ bill you can eat like the indie king of the world in a converted factory building to add to that retro/brave new world feel. With plates that look like they came out of a magazine Native Kitchen is awesomeness from top to bottom and there’s something in the menu for anyone from vegan to carnivore and even autoimmune diets.

I saw on the menu the gluten free vegan nachos with cashew cheese. When we got there, they had gluten free vegan lavender and dark chocolate donuts. There was one gluten free vegan key lime donut left. The food was great. The donuts were amazing. The cashew cheese nachos were good. The place is very natural light hippie chic. The staff were friendly. I bought my favorite brand of Kombucha and a metal straw.I keep returning. The veggie cheesy (cashew cheese) bash is my favorite.

This was an incredible experience. Not only is the decor absolutely incredible (industrial and modern) but the food was even better. I got the chicken avo sandwich, and it may be the greatest chicken sandwich I’ve ever hadβ€”and my standards are high. It certainly helps that the bread is alternative and home made, so it’s fresh and delicious. Incredible experience.

First let me begin by stating that this place is a dream come true! It is our #1 favorite place to β€œescape” to when living in the woods and working from home gets a little too ... cabin-ey.The food is literally the best in all of northern Georgia, they service is literally supernatural and the coffee is amazinggg!Just before the holidays, we ordered a Charcuterie Platter from Native, as we saw them making a few for the holidays. It was everything all in one place! My pregnant wifey was craving snacks and we were able to request what we love most in the way of edible treats! There was a perfect balance of foods to choose from and the dried fruit was an amazing addition! Our favorite part was the homemade hummus and I’m so grateful we chose to bring this amazing plate of love home for the holidays! It was clear that it was made with intention πŸ’œ

The first time my daughter and I ate there was about 2 years ago and it was delicious. Now I just let her order. I dont remember it being so overpriced for the amount you get. I dont know if its because we always take it to go but she is always still hungry afterwards and she is tiny. I can only treat her to this about twice a month because she will order dessert and their drinks are so so small and are like $7! Her order is always around $23 which I think is ridiculous considering the portion size.

The good includes:1. Aesthetically pleasing. It looks like a great place to study.2. Staff is incredibly friendly and checks in often.3. They provide a variety of options for people who are conscience about their eating habits.4. Cool location. The not so good:1. A mint mocha 16oz was cents short of $7! SEVEN DOLLARS. The coffee was good, although the temperature was off, but it simply was not worth the money. You can go to Starbucks and get a better quality cup for less than that. Much less than that.2. The food is expensive ... I understand that the ingredients must be better quality... That would be ok IF the food wasnt so blend.3. The owner (I am guessing is the owner) looks unhappy often. He also seems annoyed when students stay too long studying. He seems visibly agitated.

So, first thing is i’m not giving this company a low rate because honestly i wouldn’t want to bring their google score down but there are some major flaws in this place. I will get to that. So, first the food is very good and simple and clean (healthy wise) and the prices to me are not too bad . i do originate from downtown chattanooga so maybe i’m just used to it but also the aesthetic is an amazing place; especially for college students etc. I think it’s EXACTLY what dalton needs. Now the bad, i’ve been in there twice . The first time was a few months ago when i first moved to dalton i went to the register because, well it seemed like a coffee shop style and i didn’t know if we sat down and got served or ordered first and then sat down. i waited for 10 MINUTES and never once got greeted so i left. Tonight I decided to go again did the same thing as before because i still didn’t know what to do plus i was wanting to order my food to go. i stood up there for a WHILE and there were 3 people working. Not one hello, not one welcome absolutely no customer service what so ever. Then finally a girl comes up probably in here 30s barely greets me, no smile, nasty tone of voice, and all around just not very nice when i asked if i should sit down or order first . I want to preface i was very nice i smiled made sure she knew i wasn’t upset etc cause i’ve worked in the food industry i get it . So finally i got to order my food and i sat and waited for a WHILE and just watched the 3 people chatting and standing around then i see her look back and see me and she made a β€œoh no i forgot face” and ran and got my food and in the most uncaring rude voice β€œsorry for the wait β€œ i said oh it’s okay!! trying to seem not upset well because like i said earlier i worked in the food industry in the past and she just walked away. i want to love this place so bad . it’s sooo cute and the food is good but the way i’ve been treated MULTIPLE times by the people of this establishment is just soooo disheartening.

This establishment is visually appealing, but it has quite a bit of flaws. The past two times I was there, the entire place smelled like bacon fat. It was OVERBEARING. I was gagging as I was eating my food. Also, the temperature of the coffee is off. It is always just warm... Not hot, so it gets cold almost instantly. In addition, their menu is very healthy, but lacks in flavor. One last thing Ive noticed, the consistency of the drinks is off. Depending on who is working, I order differently. It is truly exhausting.

The good: The people who work there are charming, the food tastes pretty good, the place is clean, and the overall atmosphere is one of those up-and-coming, trendy restaurant vibes. Its really good for twentysomethings and college students, especially. I imagine a lot of coffee dates happen here. Good gluten-free selection if you dont have Celiac Disease (see below). The Bad: I understand they use natural ingredients, which are more expensive, but pricing was over-the-top, since the portion sizes were tiny. The main issue (and the reason for such a low rating - sorry!) was that the staff didnt do well in dealing with allergies. My friend asked if coconut (her allergen) was in the muffins, and was first told no, then after she reacted and asked again, she was told they were made with coconut flour. That doesnt instill confidence for allergy sufferers. My husband (who has Celiac Disease and cannot have gluten even through cross contact) ordered gluten-free toast and asked if it was made in a separate toaster. The cashier (to her credit) went back to the kitchen to ask, then said yes. However, he got sick from gluten exposure, so obviously their gluten-free foods are being exposed to gluten in the kitchen.Hopefully they will improve how they handle allergies in the future so that there are no issues for anyone else. I wouldnt give such a low-star review if the safety of customers with food allergies wasnt such a huge part of being a good restaurant.
