I just left this place with my husband and we are livid. Courtney (manager) came in while we were speaking with a seller to tell us let me cut to the chase, this is a $70k car we were floored that he profiled us because prior to looking at the Genesis we looked at the top trim model of the Santa Fe and Palisades. He has zero idea of our income and assumed because we looked at lower end cars we could not afford this car. Yet we were ready to pay in full in cash. Im extremely disheartened at the profiling we just experienced.His behavior is unacceptable. We will be taking this to corporate. His demeanor was appalling and unprofessional. If my husband and I would have came in flaunting money he would have treated us with respect. There is no reason why someone should treat others differently because of their own biases.He even had the audacity to follow us out of the store. My husband had to tell him to back off because he kept yelling at my husband Im not profiling you, you are just wasting everyones time here I intervened and asked him to have a good day and to respect that I had a child with me. My child is still shaken and does not understand why the man followed us and yelled at his dad.
Courtney was pleasant, courteous and knew his vehicles. We found him very easy to work with and I can tell you we are not often an easy sell.Both my husband and I enjoyed working with him during the sale process. His sense of humor and easy manner made it a pleasant experience, and I usually dislike car shopping.We would definitely recommend your dealership to a friend
(Update from my original review) Its been almost 3 weeks since Ive owned my Genesis I have to say while Genesis is trying to build and market a upper end luxury automobile they are a Hyundai!!! 1st their corporate customer service /support is the same as Hyundai they are not Lexus, BMW, Mercedes or any of the luxury brands on the market. Sales and service is done in the same place as Hyundai to sum it up if they want to play in the luxury car market they should be a luxury car company not a big step below the reason Im putting this on The Genesis of Danbury website is because I cant get anyone at Genesis corporate to help with my problem I had to resolve it on my own... - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -I was looking for a Red G70 and nobody in my area had one I live in Massachusetts. Genesis of Danbury had the car I wanted. I called and spoke with Courtney who is the sales manager on Sunday after 3 phone calls I bought my G70. Monday morning we did all the paperwork over the phone. At 5.00 pm Courtney pulled into my driveway with my new Genesis G70. Courtney is a great person and did everything possible to make sure I am happy. One in a million.
Up to my original post below - John R. the sales manager called me to remedy this issue. He promised to ensure that more transparent practices are used in clearly communicating the TOTAL price of the purchase.Agreed to one price and received a higher price in the financing. Courtney, the sale person told me basically I should have asked a question. I didnt have any question at the time. I signed a document with the agreed sales price and there was $2.8k added in the financing doc as other. When I questioned it Courtney became very defensive. I backed out of the conversation with him and sent and email to the general manager. Absolutely no response.I am very happy with my car but this dealer is shady with hidden fees and I dont like doing business with people like that. Very disappointed.
This is my buying story...I first went to New Rochelle NY, Genesis dealer and it was a really bad experience. There costumer services needs some work and they low balled my trade in big time so with that I went to Danbury....Can I tell you, what a night and day difference! Definitely better car selection and overall better dealership. My sales Salesperson was Mr. Delmore and my finance Manager was Mr. Walker these two guys were very professional and personal(if that makes sense). The trade -in manger was aces too and was very transparent and did not try to low ball me and play games!!The car selection is way better then the first dealer...way better! Danbury Genesis will be getting my business in the future 100%. The only thing I can say bad about the place is the free pizza aint no NY pizza!!🤮lol!
Met with Mr. Delmore, could not be happier. I did not end up buying a car with Mr. delmore as of yet. However, his customer service skills are at a level I have not heard of. My fiancé and I were looking at buying a new car. I told mr. Delmore I was getting married and would not be buying anything for a few months. Talking to Mr. Delmore was like talking to a family member. He was extremely helpful I can’t say enough about this man. If you’re reading this Mr. Delmore thank you for all your help! Don’t ever change.
