Honest shop, great service. I came in thinking Id need to buy three new tires (due to damaged front wheel that collapsed onto front tire), but only ended up needing to buy one. Turned around in one day. Will definitely do business with them again. Update: Have since returned for snow tires, and once again had a good experience. Turned around in two hours, managed to source the tires in a day. Will go back.

We had a flat tire on our 2006 one ton truck that has dual tires in the rear. We googled tire repair and Vander Hamm came up with 5 stars. We were from out of town. We called and they said yes open come on down and we will help you out. It can take up to 2 hrs. So we went and WOW what a surprise they took our truck right in and said if its a quick fix we will do it now. it was a quick fix less than 30 mins with no charge WOW!!! Our valve stems had come lose so they tightened 3 out of the 4 tires for us and sent us on our way. They knew we would probably never be back in there since we were from out of town. They took good care of us with a smile. Thank you Vander Hamm Tire for being the family owned business of when your Grandfather first opened it with a hand shake and a smile and true honesty. Thanks Danny!!!

Incredible customer service. After trying a few other places in Davis, Dixon, and Sacramento, I have finally found a great tire shop and mechanic.

Yes there are still honest mechanics and shops out there, this includes Vander Hamm. Ive brought in my vehicles here for time to time, for oil change, brake jobs, tune ups, failed Smog checks due to flattened and old hoses. Ive always been given a fair quote and have also been told that whatever I was concern about is not really needed. Also buying a used car can be hairy from a private seller, Vander Hamm will inspect it, I cant remember how much it cost me the last time, but they will give you a quote on that too😊

Every once in awhile, you are pleasantly surprised when you find Great Value and service right around the corner!After being ripped off on some car repair, I started shopping around a lot before I had any work done on my car. In this case I wanted to replace all my tires and I wanted to do it in Davis.Imagine my surprise when at the end of my research, my lowest quote happened to be given by the friendliest guy on the phone.Despite my crazy schedule, they squeezed me in and had the work done in half the time they quoted. Dang, going to call these guys first next time.

I came here twice to get my tire patched and never had any issues. Its been over 15k miles and no leaks! One time they found two nails, but they only charged me labor for just one nail. Ill be a long time customer for any tire work in the future.

I have had nothing but good experiences here. We have brought both our Honda Civic and our Ford Ranger here and we get great service every time. They quoted me for tires cheaper than Costco and were much more friendly and helpful!

Im giving 2 stars because my first experience with Vander Hamm was good. However, I recently brought my car in because the AC stopped producing cold air. I also wanted my windshield wipers replaced at that time. When I picked up my car, I noticed the AC still wasn’t working, (I thought it would maybe take a while for the new freon to work its way to the vent). Anyway, the next day no cold air. So I took a ½ day off work to bring it back (it was a Hot day and I work in Sac). They figured out that it was a bad AC relay and replaced it (a part kept in stock). So next day, weird rain storm and the driver’s side wiper only partially touched the windshield. I took the car back again to find that the new wiper installed was not new, it was off a totally different kind of car. It was not a Bosch wiper that your company carries. I’m giving the benefit of the doubt that this was an honest mistake by the tech and not actual fraud. The tech who finally installed the correct wiper apologized that this happened.To summarize, I took 1 + ½ days off work to have a pretty simple job taken care of. In hindsight, I regret not taking my car to the dealership for this.As a Quality Manager myself, I recommend the company log customer complaints (bad reviews, re-work, surveys etc.), determine root causes, and provide corrective/preventive actions when necessary. It is an opportunity for improvement for the company.To the customer, I advise you to request the packages of purchased parts used in your repair.

Scheduling online was very easy. It was especially helpful to be able to select the exact tires and receive an accurate price estimate when scheduling. Customer service at the shop was excellent -- quick in and out and the tire installation was completed in less than two hours (I dropped off the car).

Every time Ive been in their facility I have seen how much effort they put out to treat their customers as if they were their own family. They take pride in more than their product and go the extra distance to be sure that each and every customer that leaves there feels like they were treated with respect and dignity. Fabulous, friendly service. My family of 5 and a dog got a flat while driving through Davis. We rolled into Vander Hamm tire 20 minutes before closing on a Friday night. Our tires were unusual (run flat) and not in stock. Danny and Rich discussed options with us. We ordered the tires for the next morning and spent the night in Davis. Rich drove us to and from the hotel, and the tires were installed as promised by 10:30. A+ service.

Not only did they put my new tires on in less time than promised but they saved me big $$s. Another shop in Davis told me that I needed brakes (told me not to wait that with the rain, I could be in jeopardy). I asked Vander Hamm for a quote the day after I was told I needed brakes.... guess what, my brakes are fine!Thanks for saving me $$!!

For those that live in Davis, the Good Year Tires on 5th St is simple awesome in my opinion. They patched a flat tire and placed the spare tire back underneath the bed of the Tacoma truck for such a low price or no extra charge today. I feel like asking them to charge me more but I’ll drop off a dozen doughnuts instead. I’ve had great experience there before. Please consider supporting them in the future.

Ive been bringing my vehicles here for many years. Honest, friendly people of integrity with very fair prices. Highly competent mechanics, too -- theyve diagnosed & fixed issues that had stumped other well-known auto repair businesses in town! And generous with their time & attention to their clients, whether in person or on the phone. They sell quality products, my current car rides much better on the tires they recommended & installed (compared to the original equipment) and their repairs last. What more could you want?

Did a walk in to get my tire patched. Quick and courteous service from Rich and all is well. Spent less than an hour there. Good place to go to. Might want to go earlier in the morning as that seems to be a less busy time.

As a young driver I was spoiled by having a service mechanic who was also a family member. I have been a highly satisfied customer of Vander Hamm Goodyear for about forty years now. For more than twenty of those years I owned three cars, and Goodyear Davis serviced them all. I came to trust explicitly the advice of what I have always considered a very knowledgeable and ethical staff as well as the excellent workmanship of their mechanics, and have always accepted their charges as fair. They have often taken my car in on short notice when I needed immediate repair, and I have always favored Goodyear tires especially. They are one of only two shops in all of Davis that I trust and have full confidence in. I have to conclude by saying that the original owner, whose death just a few years ago saddened us all, would have been very proud of the integrity with which his descendants and former employees have carried on his business.

Ive probably bought my tires and had various repairs at Vander Hamm Tire Center--I just call it Goodyear--for forty+ years, which should be a real testament to their overall excellence, their honesty and my trust and satisfaction with their supervising staff and mechanics. For years it was Chuck Vander Hamm, and since his passing, his family and staff who have carried on in the same trustworthy manner, which would have made him proud. Need I say more!

Hands down, Vander Hamm Tire Center is the best tire shop Ive visited in Davis. After how well this family-owned auto shop took care of me after my third flat tire of the year, I would only recommend this place for tires in Davis (and Ive tried the others). I bring my car here for all of my service needs now. They are so reasonable and down to earth, good at their work and friendly... I only wish I had found this place earlier!

I only go to Vander Hamm. I tried the Goodyear in Sacramento because I work near there, but the service really wasnt even comparable (different owner). Rich always tries to work with my schedule and provide me with accurate and timely service. Really, I cant say enough about Vander Hamm! I always recommend them to my friends when theyre in need of an oil change, brakes, etc.

I had a nail in my tire and so I needed to get my tire patched up. I called around to a few places and this place had the cheapest rate. I got my tire patched up for $22. I got to the place around 11am and had class at 12pm, and they got the job done in about 20-30 mins! Oh and the people working there were really friendly!

Purchased tires for the first time and I will say it has been a great experience. The front desk man is what every business should have in order for the business to success. Going back tomorrow to get alignment.

The warning light for tire pressure came on in my car and I had plans to drive to the Bay Area. I dont have a tire pressure gauge and didnt know what to do. I called Vander Hamm Tire Center and told them my predicament. They said I could come over and they would take care of my problem for no charge and they did! Based on my experience, I would recommend going there for any tire needs.

I actually enjoy coming to Vander Hamm and have been taking my vehicles here for many years to do maintenance and repairs. In my mind, they set the highest standard for reliability, good judgement, fair prices and great customer service that I havent seen before in my dealings with others in this trade.

Taking our car here is like taking it to a family member who happens to know a lot about cars. They are friendly (our actual friends) and professional. Our newest car has over 130k miles and our oldest has 250k, and this shop keeps them all running well.

Had some problems with the pressure sensor after they put new tires on. They were willing to cover the cost of a new sensor, even though we couldnt be 100% sure that they were the cause. Ended up covering half the cost because that seemed fair to me.These guys have awesome customer service.

Friendly staff and fantastic customer service. I brought my miata in for a random misfire issue and they thought the coil pack was going bad. They got it replaced in a couple hours for a reasonable cost but after picking it up I only got a couple miles down the road before the misfire came back. When I brought it back in and explained what happened they put my original coil pack back in and gave me a full refund.

Vander Hamm tire center does excellent work on all aspects of automobile care. It keeps careful track of a cars past service record and future needs, completes work promptly, is always available for a tire pressure check, and provides highly personalized service.

I am actually quite disappointed with this shop. We have purchased tires for both our vehicles and my Mercedes alone was well over $1k in purchase. Today I brought my car in for a tire repair due to a nail and I was charged for this service repair. I thought this was included when you purchase tires, but I guess not. We will be taking our business elsewhere from here on out.
