Ive never been to a coffee shop like this. You order a flavor and they grind the beans together and brew it. Its like having a sommelier who makes you a specific blend of wine. There is a Starbucks down the street for those who want a quick shot of caffeine. For the coffee connoisseur, Philz is the place.And its a nice place to sit and enjoy your cup.

First place Ive been that makes Iced Coffee I like. A ton of funky flavors and wonderful staff! it does get busy though. I went on a Sunday at 2pm and it was still busy, so be warned!

I personally think Philz is great. They might not be the quickest coffee. But they are consistently great tasting. Definitely has a better atmosphere and all around better vibe than Peets and Starbucks. Its not as loud and redundant feeling as the other coffee shops. If you like iced coffee then definitely come here!

Air conditioning was going full bore. The high that day was only in the 80s. A bit unusual for Davis in the summer. My friends really enjoyed their coffee.

Super friendly and helpful staff. They will totally customize your coffee to get what you want without a crazy price. I love the safety precautions. They really have it down without it being a confusing mess. They have nice restrooms and lots of sanitizer and hand washing area. Everything was simple and the outdoor tables were nice. We got delicious drinks for our relaxing Sunday morning stroll.

Spacious, lively with youth energy everywhere .The walls are decorated with coffee art on canvas,separate restrooms for men and women . It also sells coffee !! I had the tesora medium blend mocha, it was dark and intense ..liked it! Good place to just chill with friends or work on your assignments or may be you can try a casual group study too!!

When this place is at its busiest, I’d recommend avoiding if you are in a hurry. Arrived 9:20am on Sunday and waiting over an hour to receive two coffees.

Very friendly staff that helped me pick the perfect drink and offered a sample of another while we waited for our drinks. They also have a great sitting space.

A great philz location, Im so glad they opened here. Very popular and busy but consistently good drinks. I was a barista at philz before and am happy with the service and quality. The store is a rather large one and is maintained well and clean.Always appreciate philz effort to be eco friendly, thank you. I love the wall of personal mugs that people can keep to drink from when they return again.

Fresh, hot coffee at a easy to find downtown location with street parking in the area and various other eateries, shops and venues in the same area. Great costumer service to boot!

Interesting take on the classic coffee shop. Everything is made by the cup using pour-over filters and, where theres no steam wand to froth milk, the just shake vigorously.

Get the iced mint mojito with light sugar! They put so much fresh mint in it. It is delicious. I even washed and used the mint after I was done drinking the coffee!

This Philz is different than the one on Shattuck Avenue in Berkeley. This location has a full food counter and a board explaining the different kinds of coffee offered. I particularly like the seating. It is a comfortable place that opens early.

My bladder hurt really bad after drinking this coffee and I had a terrible acid reflux attack that lasted 4 hours. I was diagnosed with a UTI afterwards. I drink coffee on a daily basis and try many different coffee shops frequently, and I have never had such a bad reaction. Im not someone who deals with UTIs very often and this one has lasted a whole month and is very persistent. I dont know what they put in it, but beware. Customer service is not friendly either. They seemed annoyed with me.

A great awesome place to get coffee your way. This coffee house does all pour over coffees in many different flavors of beans. There are no milk shakes here just coffee. Everyone that works there is extremely friendly and will make sure to get your cup right. Highly recommended.Note: close to UC Davis Campus

Been waiting for this place to open - at last no more Starbucks! I havent tried the food but it looks amazing and the vibe is great for getting some work done in a very cool up and coming neighborhood. My one complaint is that my drip coffee to go wasnt very hot. I know a lot of high end coffee is served not piping hot (to not burn the grinds etc etc) but a not hot coffee is a no-go for most including me. If you added cream it would be like almost cold. But anyways the coffee is really good and I would drink it just about every day otherwise!

I had the royal milk tea which was pretty good. Not too sweet like most milk teas out there. Most importantly the WiFi worked great for getting some work done. I also enjoyed the laid back ambiance.

Met here with a friend to chat and catch up and it was just what I needed. Cute, quiet place with an amazing staff. We were able to spend some quality time and enjoy delicious, reasonably priced coffee and tea. I am a chai lover but feel like places in this city are charging so much. I will be back (maybe with another friend) Great meeting place :)

This a great work spot! Strong coffee and good food. I went on a busy Sunday afternoon and still snagged a spot pretty easily. There are outlets and free WiFi too. No complaints!

Four barrel coffee is our go-to in this neighborhood. It has that lovely feel that tells me it is not a chain its just a down-home coffee bar were you can get great expresso and cappuccino. What more could you ask for in the morning? Well how about friendly people a nice crowd plenty of space to sit down easy hook up to the net and I like it. Weve been coming back again and again every morning while were in the neighborhood. If it was in my home neighborhood Id be a regular

The space itself is quite small but there are small tables if you are working on a laptop alone but there is not a lot of counter space so I wouldnt recommend groups. It is also lowly lit which isnt a bad thing but definitely something to keep in mind if you are looking for a good work or study space. Also have to mention that outlets are hard to find so make sure your laptop is charged before coming!

Philz is the spot in Davis to get coffee, and only coffee - no espresso here folks. They exclusively offer flavored coffees, which is off-putting for fans of high quality beans. Basically, philz is for trendy folks that want exotic sounding drinks for a hefty price. A small coffee here is $3.50, so plan on splurging a bit.I had the Tantalizing Turkish which is the closest thing to a normal dark roast coffee, only with cardemom and mint leaves added. I think its decent, but even those flavors dont truly hide the heavily over-roasted beans.The best thing about philz is the experience. Philz has a startup feel as a company, and it comes through in the lobby of the store. There are comfy couches, lots of space - think cozy warehouse.Overall, this is mediocre coffee dressed up with flavors. Some people are going to like that a lot. Kudos to them, but I will not be a regular.

I freaking love this place. Each coffee is made to perfection one cup at a time. The server calls you up and ask you which type of copy you would like and if you would like sugar cream and the gradient of sweetness. I tried a Jacobs Wonder bar medium sweetened his with cream and it was fantastic. The next time I had the turkish, which was infused with cardamom and mint. That cup of coffee was fantastic. I bought a bunch of beans and I will definitely be frequenting that location.

The flavors of coffee here are like nothing else Ive had. And I love the earth conscious materials (cups, lids, straws, etc) they are committed to. It is a wholly satisfying experience.

Fantastic. Amazing. Delicious. We had the Journey to Om thai tea latte and the Dragon Punch herbal tea, plus several pastries. Soooooo good! The owners are super cool and provided fast service, despite being the only 2 people behind the counter. The shop itself is super cute and has a great aesthetic and is open 7am-4pm. Highly recommend 12/10

Lots of different blends of coffees and creative combinations that wants me trying more. Theres a good amount of power outlets. The lighting and ambiance is really nice, service is always good. Music choice is always on point.

I had some time to kill before work and stopped by. I had a cafe bombon. Glad to try it as I like slow sips of rich espresso, and the condensed milk was a pleasant addition. It was different. They have a nice selection of caffeine options as well.

Cheap and tasty

Found FBC from Yelp reviews when I visited San Francisco. Nice coffee and cool design for the space. They serve the coffee in in cups that you will not find anywhere else. It was a bit crowded when I visited so depending on when you go, it may be difficult to find seating, but that means it is popular!

I wasnt able to stay that long to sit and chill because this place was so crowded when I was there (Thursday afternoon) so me and my two other friends couldnt find a place to sit down. We left around 15 mins later. However, the vibe was really cozy. I like it a lot. The coffee is great. We had a hot latte. The space between each table was just not too close not too far from each other. There are many corners in this cafe like they manage their place really well. You can feel like working on your project and sitting at the tall table facing the wall or just relax with friends and reading book while sitting on a small sofa. Nice both. The back of the cafe is a little darker and feel more private than the front where the natural light comes in. So bright and lively.

A cool hip spot to go have coffee. They serve a quality grind. The food is a good value with quality ingredients. Come early and avoid the valet.

What can I say? Philz is truly my favorite coffee. I usually get iced mint mojito. However, I buy their beans for use at home as well.

My favorite coffee shop in the Sunset! Baristas are all awesome, coffee is delicious, and theres almost never a line. Only downside is that its not a great place to hang out or work for very long - the bench/table seating is super uncomfortable and tables are too small for a laptop and a coffee. Also, there isnt enough seating - they have extra space but only put a bench instead of more tables.

I only go when the Asian dude, Anthony works cuz hes sooo nice. Hes kinda slow with making the food but theyre short-staffed anyways, so just be patient. The food is pretty good, just a nice brunch place. I love their green tea latte.

I had been in Downtown San Jose for a dance conference and stopped by this spot to catch a fast tea before doing. I attempted the chamomile tea and this beverage was the one which made me begin drinking chamomile tea. This was ideal for a rainy afternoon, in case you are sick, or having a drink to calm down the pre-performance nerves.

Lovely and friendly owners, cool easy vibe, and Bottomless Brew option.. what more could you want! So happy this little gem opened in the neighborhood! x

What an amazing place!! From the pictures it seems like its be one of those crazy Instagram places with a line out the door, but when I went it was rather quiet. I ordered a red velvet coffee and the barista was awesome. He asked if Id like to watch him create the foam art and asked if I had any requests.Not only was it a fun experience, the coffee was actually really good too!

Love this place. Great coffee with cream that hits the spot where you can still taste the bean but enjoy the smoothness cream brings. Love the decor and general layout.

As my friend babbled on and on about how much he loves the macchiato here, I had one question to ask him, how big is it? Size isnt really an issue for me just as long as I get that quick satisfaction ;P but since I started the day pretty early, in my mind, bigger meant stronger. I kept going back and forth between the Latte and Cappuccino but ended up getting what else, the macchiato.

Davis Philz is such a cozy environment. The only problem would be that seating can be hard to find because its so popular. Would definitely recommend grabbing coffee here.

Excellent selection of unique coffee blends, made fresh in front of you. Also, their cucumber toast was so surprisingly delicious I am returning almost entirely because of that! Great coffee house ambience with tons of charging outlets and a welcoming low-key vibe. Recommend.

Really good coffee, really good service! Its always a pleasure to go there. It was sunday afternoon and a little crowded, there was no place inside but we sat outside and it was great. Large variety of coffee, professionally prepared with a filter. No espresso as far as I could tell. If you never had a Philz coffee, I highly suggest you go there.

I love the iced mint coffee drink, it’s so delicious. The atmosphere is nice, the music is a bit loud. The bathrooms are not very clean and all the cool hipsters that work there don’t work very hard to keep the place tidy and clean. They lean around a lot.

Just had a dancing water over the weekend. Long line and packed seating, but wait is to be expected when they make coffee one cup at a time. Coffee was good, I think there is better at other places. Plus almost spilled because lid wasnt secure, make sure to press down hard on lid.Will probably go again though, after a few more weeks for them to get kinks out.

The black tea was artisan brewed. The monkey bread and Mediterranean avocado toast were delectable. The Sunday morning was not rushed and there are tables on the sidewalk to enjoy the morning sun.

Wow! Just spectacular coffee and really kind staff. It can be expensive and a little confusing at first, but the staff guides you through and the end result is some of the best coffee Ive ever had.

Sigh. Been here a few times for coffee and its definitely San Francisco prices for very average coffee. The staff are nice though it can take a while to get your order as they only have minimal staff and seem to be family run.They charge 2$ for Wi-fi, which is an annoyance already. But once I got it it was really slow, as in you had to wait 60 secs to open gmail. I wouldnt normally complain, but if youre charging money for wi-fi that most place provide for free, Id expect it to be at least usable
