I have been going to Second Time Around ever since I was just a young boy I remember when it was just a little corner store and now theyve grown into the best new and used music store in the city of Dayton I love this place and I really hope that they open their doors again soon if you get the chance to visit them please do you wont regret it the staff is very helpful and friendly they get a perfect 10 from me

Huge selection of movies and both current and retro games and gaming systems. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable and quick to answer any questions. Stock turns over daily so constantly new titles coming in. Be advised, this store does not sell any vinyl record music. They have cds only... if your looking for vinyl this is not the place. Go to omega music on 5th street for your records

This used to be my go to for old cds, movies, and games. Apparently they closed down.

It hasnt been open due to the covid i would say havent been able to go in there because they r closed but it is a nice store that always has tons of movies and games they also carry game systems and posters cant wait until they open back up

This was and hopefully still is the best second hand electronic media store youll ever go to. Their trade in prices are fair and youll get cash not credit. all their DVDs and blu-rays are extremely cheap so if youre like me and what a hard copy of a certain movie this is the best place to go. I really really really hope they reopen soon and this whole pandemic thing didnt cause them to go out of business. The staff is beyond helpful courteous and they have the patience of saints. If this door does not reopen it will forever be one of the greatest places to visit in downtown Dayton.

If youre not going to be open take your hours down both online and at the store. I get it, covid wrecked business. But dont advertise your open when youre not going to be. Some people drive pretty far to come down and find that youre not open. Thats pretty harsh

I was quoted a price on the phone and then wasted my time by going there and being offered HALF of the original offer. Item was exactly as I described it over the phone, then was told my n64 didnt have an expansion pack.. I never said it did, why would they assume it had one? Swindlers. Also their music is over priced for being 2nd hand.

Gr8 place to trade buy and sell. Vibrantly Arie and bustling most times.University hood high Schoolers and mostly healthy type atmosphere.Tight security. Feel safe while you shop negotiate or eat. Ideally located in a village setting. Come one and enjoy.

Good shop. Have bought OG video games from them for years. The only thing I think would be helpful to collectors is that they usually dont have the original cases + handbooks and the price will be what you pay for the complete on eBay. The image for the game (most recent) is what they sold me vs. the OG case I purchased elsewhere. Otherwise, youll get a comparable price and a good selection.

Drove all the way here to find out that they are closed for the safety of their employees because of this fake pandemic. Its really whatever, but this should be reflected on more than just their front door for crying out loud. And Im sure that their employees are real safe being unemployed as opposed to just wearing a mask... Maps is still telling me that theyre open, they are not.

This is all honestly the best place in this area to by and sell video games! They have fair prices when buying and they are generous with their selling prices as well. you are not going to be tricked out of money like places like gamestop will do. if you have the opportunity to come here I would definitely take the chance!!

Second Time Around has been closed since earlier this year. It never reopened after the first round of COVID19 closures.We all miss it. We know someone has been entering the store because there is a Santa Clause blow up doll insu3de the store.

This was actually a good place to shop for movies, music and games. I found a few titles to buy. The place was very organized and it was well lit. They stack there movies instead of placing them side by side in alphabetical order. Lots easier to find what your looking for. Very friendly staff. They have good music playing in there foe your listing pleasure.

Drove in two hours to do my biannual used media sweep of Dayton thrift shops. This was going to be my #1 stop because of their selection. Got here and they are apparently closed until the govonor lifts all the pandemic restrictions, but dont have it posted anywhere except on their front door-this site still lists them as open and the link to their website from here gave me a 404 error. They just went from #1 to the bottom of my list for wasting my time.

Its great because all their games a re in great condition for a good price and would recomend people come here for getting games

This place is perfect for getting used video games for every console, DVDs / Blue-Rays, gaming accessories, and small electronics. Everything is in store tested, and can be returned if it doesnt work which is great! Their stock rotates quite frequently, so if they dont have what youre looking for just come back in a week and they might have 2 of it! Great place, even just to peruse around.

Wow. This is my favorite used game and movie store. It has so many great choices that I can never get enough. As any used store they get new things every day and the selection is never the same twice. They have super cheap movies some as low as $0.50. Im definitely coming back again soon.

Not too crowded on a weekday early afternoon. Today I was looking for a game console that meets certain requirements. I was offered assistance right away and the gentleman was very knowledgeable. He helped me decide what console met my needs, and showed me where used games for my console were. Prices matched eBay and came with guarantee (which would be impossible to find on eBay).

Great place but some issues. Some staff are ignorant though lol. This guy fell asleep and would not answer me for like 15 to 20 minutes. Prices are reasonable on only games, but to sell your games is a complete ripoff. The max they allow is 50 percent of what they sell for and thats achieved by negotiations is what the employee said. I went in and attempted to negotiate but he said we dont do haggling here in a rude voice. Over the phone I asked how much this game was. Its 12 bucks the guy said. Great! Its 8 cheaper than game stop! Mistake. The day after, when I decided to buy it, it was 20. Yeah so um, this place is only good for buying games they dont know the price of. Retards.

Great looking store! First time visit for me. They had so much music in there, CDs that I would love to replace some lost ones. They had artists and CDs that I forgot about or have been hard to find. Used to be GOAT, but fell off, aside from the OGs employees arent knowledgeable, but still the best place to go to buy sell games, retro now, newer things are sometimes overpriced, but the retro stuff is perfect. And you will definitely find a hidden gem.

This place used to have a great used cd selection, but now it seems kind of like a used video game and DVD store. Which I guess is reflective of what people are spending money on. I used to go there a lot more often when they had more music. Ive found some really great music here in the past. The owners are really nice fellas. The bald guy loves it when you rub his head for good luck.

Was just here again yesterday. Its a longtime favorite of mine, and always a winner. You can always find something youve never seen or heard just as well as something youve seen and heard a million times. Ive introduced my young son and we both come here now, and is a simple pleasure we enjoy together. Ive enjoyed coming to 2nd Time Around for decades and my boy has enjoyed it for years already... a local Dayton gem, which should be checked out!

Quite a large selection of movies, video games & such. They are reasonably priced& fair on their buying ( in my experience).Be ready for a long wait if you go on a weekend or holiday. All & all they were courteous, friendly & helpful. Please support this store and ones like it. They are becoming hard places to find!

One never knows musically what will one will find. Just found a 69 Moody Blues CD. They buy and sell games as well. Easy to deal with.

Had a good amount of selection some of the stuff was overpriced but it was overall a good deal. I went there because my little brother was selling some movies he had probably around 30-40 movies in great condition. They took about 20-30. They gave him $17. If anyone does go there to sell movies or games make sure u bring someone with a an ID or drivers license is ur not old enough

Hubby loves to shop here for DVDs and CD for his collections. Store is clean and bright with good windows. Inventory is cared for and better quality.

Ive been aware of Second Time Around, for many years but only my second time in the store. Staff was courteous and very helpful with my request for music from early Bob Dylan. The store was clean and very well organized. I would enthusiastically, recommend anyone give Second time Around a try when looking for, perhaps, that particularly important, but maybe, hard to find, piece of music.

Great atmosphere, selection, and staff. I felt that they gave me a very fair trade in on games Ive brought in, and its my favorite place to look for older PS2 and Xbox 360 games. Only positive experiences there.

Great atmosphere and easy to to go in and out for a wide array of media, great prices on everything I get from movies and older video games. Very friendly staff that strike up conversations with me and vice versa. I come here often to see if new stuff Ive wanted has appeared and its in a great area with other places to go eat at and visit.

Its nice to still see places like this. They didnt have a whole lot of Nintendo switch games, which is why I went there earlier... but a decent amount of other console games and stuff. Ive went there since I was a kid!

Super efficient employees. I went in to exchange an item for the correct one and the gentleman working helped me without a problem. I often frequent 2nd time around to browse the movie selection and 9 out of 10 times find what Im looking for. In addition, the staff is always a friendly bunch of people.

Staff was very helpful. Went to exchange a controller because it stopped working and they tested the replacement before letting me leave with it. They are also very knowledgeable about the systems and games they sell. I plan on returning anytime I need new games for my older systems

This place offers something that is hard to find nowadays. Its a small business with a great variety. Prices are very fair, and the staff is helpful if you need them. I do not have any experience in selling to them, so I cannot comment on that. If you are looking for a used entertainment store I would look no further.

I used to go here for their sorting of music. It by more specific genres, you know how satisfying it is to walk in and see a metal aisle?! Well. Now its mixed in with the generic pop/rock category major stores use. Lame. Still. Good prices and I have had no bad experience with the staff.

Have gone here since i was a kid. This was the first time i had been there in years. Great selection of video games. Clean store with a helpful and seemingly friendly staff. Seemed a lil skimpy on the movies and music but thats to kind of be expected now a days.

Always fun to shop here. I am a western movies fan and always find great movies to take home. My husband loves the music section.

This is where you go for vintage, albums, cassettes, games, systems etc. I dont like the area, and a couple of air fresheners would help. But they seem to do a good business and have a lot of hard to find items. Staff is there to do their jobs and arent unfriendly, but not obviously friendly either.

Took a little while to get my CDs as they were in the back room. Otherwise great selection and prices.

I would rate them -100 stars of I could. I recently bought a PSP Model number 2001 for 54 dollars great buy but took it home and it it just wont work. This store only gives you store credit.... Thats funny how they take your cash.... Buy something that they are supposed to check out. You take it home find out its a piece of junk and all they offer you in store credit. How fair is that? Is it wise to buy again from a place that just sold you a lemon?? But yet you only get store credit back.... Did they not take your money? Businesses like this Stay away from. Thats bad for business. Shame on them for this bogus Policy that only protects them. They secure your cash and if something goes wrong they dont return your money you have to take store credit and usually end up getting stuck with something you truly did not want. You have to keep showing up wasting gas and time for something you want. That policy is designed to discurrage you and most people wont even come back. Verdict... They have your money and now you are without the item you paid for now have to settle for something else. Their policy helps keep their pockets full

The selection is hit or miss depending on your shopping interests. A good range of diversity between electronics, systems, shows, movies and music. The prices have gone up while the selection for me personally has gone down so this is where we land.

Kinda wonky on the buying process (maybe I just dont understand it) but everything else is great. The selection is top notch, from older cartridge games, to ps4 game, to CDs, to movies, to comics movies, to anime movies. They pretty much have everything. The people there are nice, and the music they play is nice too. Its also situated in a large group of restaurants, so if youre feeling hungry after looking here there are plenty of options.
