First time at 2nd & Charles and didnt expect it to be so big! Its probably, the same size if not bigger bigger than Barnes and Noble or Books-a-Million but has a better vibe, I feel. You could probably spend hours in here to see everything. Will definitely come back!

Holy crow this place was huge! Much bigger than we thought it would be, plus lots of options for new and used books. The checkout clerk was very helpful and friendly. Definitely recommend shopping here instead of some of the other shops of there or the online big retailers.

Honestly, this place is one of my favorite stores. Staff is always helpful and willing to help you find what you want. They have stuff for everyone here. They have metaphysical stuff (which is a big reason why I come), vinyls, musical instruments at a very reasonable price, manga, pop culture things, a huge kids section, comic books, video games, and of course books. I highly recommend checking this place out!

Totally not joking when I say I drove 3+ hours with 2 of my friends in tow just to come here. I lived close to another 2nd and charles in Georgia so after moving back to Ohio, I yearned for their wonderful balance of new and used books! We werent even 30 ft in the store when one of my friends stated yea, we are going to need another cart. I think we spent a good 2 hours in there. I was happy to see so many young kids in there excited about reading. An impressive grouping of astrology products. An additional clearance room in the back, friendly staff. The only slightly downside was the lack of manga BUT I already own quite a bit so alot of it was I just already had what they had in stock. 10/10.

A great store with lots of Fun Collectibles books music. Friendly staff. Good prices. New and used items. They could organize their music selection a little better especially the CDs. But overall a great store to find cool stuff. I hate revolve are we farther down or not

It is one of few book stores that are still around. There variety of books are fantastic. There are items for every age group and every different personalities, the music section has everything from Vinyl Records to electric andacoustic guitars. Spend an hour or spend the day itll be well worth your time.

Worst experience ever imaginable!!! DO NOT EVER SELL YOUR USED ITEMS HERE!!! Lowball doesnt even begin to cover it!!! Went in with a good 2-300 dollars worth of good used books. Anne Rice, Neil Gaiman, etc etc got $6.80. Had no choice had to take it due to gas situation. Never again. No one even attempted to help my 100 lb fiancee open the door or anything PERIOD absolutely no common courtesy and clearly no knowledge of books in general.

This store has really gone down hill over the years. It used to be a place to go to get awesome deals on used books and video games. Now they barely have any video games and the prices are unreasonable. The books have also gone up considerably from when I first started shopping there. They mostly seem to be trying to sell TV/book franchise items now. Its still fun to look around but they dont do much to differentiate themselves from books and company anymore.

Theres so much to see here. Im planning another visit without the kids so I can look for myself!!

Did not get to thoroughly browse this shop yet...was with a group and we had reservations, but it was charming. Things were well organized and they have a keen eye for setting up their displays in a way that attracts the eye and piques interest while also helping shoppers find just what they need. It wouldnt just be a display of one item or even theme but there would be a collection of complimentary books and items gathered together which could make it easier to shop for gift giving or basket building. A wide selection of books on site. Staff was courteous and eager to help. The over all atmosphere was welcoming and relaxing. Looking forward to visiting again and taking my time to truly delve into all this charming shop has to offer.

We fell in love with 2nd & Charles when we lived in Atlanta, and when we saw the sign outside our hearts sank as it looked like a very small location. I can now say, it is like the Tardis, small on the outside, but HUGE on the inside. This place is epic! This is a must go if you like books, music, movies, and all things related.

They may not always have what you want but theyve got a network of information that can lead you to where you could do props to the staff!

I loved this book store! Its huge & any & everything u can think of. They have many t-shirts, vinal records, magnets, patches, pin buttons and sooooo much more. I loved it

They have a great variety of both new and used items. However they moved things around since I was last there and it took me a long time to find items. I didnt see many employees and I did not see any map or guidance on how to find certain sections. They had a large clearance area and that day had a BOGO special unused books that I took advantage of. I wish they had one of those shops in the Cincinnati area

This used book store not only has lots of used books, they also have new books, they have musical instruments like guitars flutes and such. They also have DVDs, VHS tapes, vinal records, incense burners. Lots of neat little gadgets, stickers, pins, even comic books, and posters! It is not just for books only... you will have a very good time exploring all about the store.

Good selection but priced too high by about 15 percent on used stuff and 25 on new stuff.

I love this store. Dont go in with a list expecting you will find something specific. Take the time to browse, instead... You never know what surprises you will find, from new releases to vintage finds in board games, books, role playing games, card games, movies, and music. Definitely a Dayton treasure!

The prices can be a little steep, but the staff are friendly, there is a huge selection, and its fun to just browse and look at all the books, toys, games, music and more.

Prices on movies are a little high some are priced higher than other stores sell them new occasionally I find a good deal or two they just need to search a little better and more before pricing movies

Excellent bookstore and knickknack store. If you have a child that enjoys collecting modern media items, or looking for some vintage video games this is where you go. Staff is nice, willing to help you find something if you ask them.

This is so sad to know this employee purposely walked around spraying everything we touched, we asked if he wanted my wife and I to leave he said no the problem was our breathing, offended my wife which takes alot, no I was not wearing a mask and others had it on their chin, so seriously any clue no, you work in a bookstore take some time and read about manners, Corona virus. Krogers has a sign next door offering free Corona shots...

Best bookstore i’ve been to!

Love this place. It has a little bit of everything. Great deals on books and musical instruments. If you are having a hard time find someone a gift just take a walk through this store -- I am sure something will turn up.

They have a decent, mostly OK-priced selection if youre looking to buy. If youre looking to sell FORGET IT! They gave me $10 and change for around 50 second-hand Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys books (in good shape), which theyll turn around and sell for $3-$4 apiece. No, Im not embellishing. Thats how little I got. Ill never try to sell anything there again, and I may not bother buying anything there again, either.

I like to check the free book bin every time I go here. Sometimes, there are DVDs there. You can get new or used books, games, videos, consoles, accessories, etc. They have some toys that may be ones that are no longer in larger box stores now. You can bring your used books, etc. there to sell. A good place to go to find things you are looking for or a book your child needs to read for school.

I love the selection of books they have.I like that they have a free bin. It is nice to find outdated once loved books there occasionally. I have found a few wonderful poetry books in the free bin because they are not worth a price according the the computer. Liking abstract poetry is helpful as well.I recently bought a large collection of classics there and paid less than a dollar a book because they were used and well loved copies. I do not mind side notes or underlining as long as it isnt too distracting. They had new copies of all of the books as well. The salesperson was very helpful while I went through my Goodreads want to read section picking out over a dozen classics.They have nice reusable tote bags too. The bags are unique and functional. They hold quite a few books without breaking or tearing down. It also helps to remember the bags at the grocery store if they are unique. I once bought a black Johnny Cash tote bag. I normally have my 10 year old son pick the bag and he enjoys it greatly.

Im surprised i just now learned this place existed. Its organized for how massive of a selection they have. Great place to find a gift for all ages. Speaking of ages they have a kids section with plenty of variety. Throwback games and all.

I never leave here empty handed. There is a lot of different genres and a pretty decent board and tabletop gaming section for a second-hand store. Note that theyre a bagless store, so if you intend to buy more than you can comfortably carry in your hands, youll want to bring a tote bag or buy one from them.

Always love this store. Its HUGE and the prices for most things are pretty decent.

From the storefront it seems like a very small shop but it extends back quite a bit and has an excellent selection of new releases, best sellers, novelties and classics. The store had a peaceful energy and very little junk. Personally preferable over Half-Price.

At first glance I thought it was just a book store. Once we adventured in, it was so much more. Yes they have a great selection of books. But they also have records, cds, dvds blue ray toys for kids and bigger kids that collect action figures from classic movies and cartoons. They even sell instruments. Prices are reasonable. Almost forgot video games for multiple systems. Mostly used games but still worth it.

Like getting lost in an enchanted forest of books & more. Great atmosphere, charm. Its Half-Price Books with flair and ambience. Really enjoyed my time there.

I always enjoy going there and looking around. I like to check out the used DVDs and CDs. Then I go browse the new and used LPs . Next visit will be looking at some batman n superman comics

A great team here runs a mighty fine bookstore. I was looking for a magazine and they dont sell them. Their team member was courteous, truthful, and helpful. It is always good to get the right answer right away.

Their selection of witchy books is scarce, but their selection of everything else is extensive. Definitely worth a visit!

This is one of my favorite places to buy books, comics, music and more. The atmosphere is so welcoming. The staff are helpful and pleasant. The prices cant be beat. The offten have special events that are like no other. There is something for everyone here.

I cannot state how much I love this store! You can go in and find so many cool, interesting and different things almost any way you turn! The store is huge and while books might be the main feature, they carry so many other things - shirts, socks, comics, video games and everything that goes with them, posters, toys, board games, and a ton of other things, too! Im hooked on this place. I am a fiction novel aficionado and this place seems like it was made for me. Look no further for reasonably-priced used books. I often go with a few authors in mind and browse from there because the most popular titles arent always available. Ive discovered some great books that I probably never wouldve read otherwise by going in here and just buying by gut. Love 2nd and Charles.

Cool place, good selection of books and media. Prices are a bit high for musical instruments though. Ive seen prices of used instruments that are more than the new price of the same instrument that you can buy new from guitar center or Sam Ash. None the less it is a cool place.
