Great selection! It’s like a thrift store on steroids. I get exhausted going through all the racks because there is so much stuff! I love that they have sales on certain days too (usually holidays). It’s probably the best thrift store in town as far as variety.
Pros:Employees are nice, everything is decently organized.Cons: priced like marshalls, not a thrift store. Kind of defeats the purpose
I shopped this store for many years mainly because the claim they are AMVET store an being a veteran. I chose to buy there. Up until about a year to year and a half ago their prices & quality were great and then..... all of sudden they quit selling quality products at a reasonable price. I questioned people there regarding the nicer stuff that they used to have is now being sorted through and the quality pieces are sent to another store in Orlando. NOT MY WORDS BUT WORDS OF PRIOR EMPLOYEES & SEVERAL MANAGERS. Further... their pricing has sky rocketed. These items cost them nothing and yet they they seem not to care that their store has gone down drastically and I feel they do an injustment to the AMVET name. I stop in occasionally to see if it has changed and it has just gotten worse.
They jacked the prices way way up here. I found a Walmart jacket today: 27$ brand new. 30$ at City Thrift Daytona. They were charging 50$ for a women’s jacket. You’re better off going to Macy’s or JC Pennys for clothes.
Always great customer service while in the store but today Matthew (front end supervisor) was VERY helpful over the phone. He went out of his way to check if a metal bedframe was in stock & the price. All while being extremely professional.Thank you Matthew
Such an amazing place to go on a scavenger hunt for fun apparel. An amazing feature of this store is that they support our troops with every purchase and theres an amazing option to donate clothing to support our heroic Veterans of the United States of America and keep their honor in awareness through Independence Day, and year round. God Bless Our Armed Forces and their families.
This place is certainly betterthan Goodwill. Hugh store with many choices and sizes.AND, still have color discounts
I always use to shop here but its been a couple of years. They really went up on their prices to the point that they are no longer thrift store prices. Youre better off getting brand new clothes for a dollar or 2 more at a regular retail store. I will not be returning.
I had a very pleasant visit to City Thrift. What pushed pleasant to very good visit was the 3 employees that helped me. I needed help with a comforter and 2 sets of sheets and these 3 ladies were extremely helpful and were happy and cheerful about having to help me. Thank you also to the cashier who checked me out, she was also cheerful and helpful with a couple questions I had. Clothing was not bad either.
Love there deals. Always good second hand items.Shoes and clothing. Electronics is a hit or miss.
My absolute favorite thrift store! Been going for years and will go till I cant go anymore. They are great! Love the place!!!!
The selection is huge but to pay close to retail for a shirt in a thrift store is kind of ridiculous. But otherwise it is a great place to find flippable items as far as selection. But pricing is a bit high to make any kind of profit. But if you want a great thrift store for personal thrift hunting it is excellent!!
The floor workers work hard to keep thing organized and neat! They Get 10 stars & a thank you for making a store nice and comfortable ti shop in. Now the prices have gone up significantly since they opened i used to shop one a week, but if your a original shoppee you seen the GREED PRICE JUMP! MAINLY ON CLOTHING. I BELIEVE USED SHOES AND UNDER GARMENTS ESPECIALLY SHOULDNT BE ONLINE EBAY PRICES. VERY 😔 SAD!!! The cashiers are also A 10 star, unfortunately the tag rule makes them look mean and miserable 😕, but people shouldnt rip off tags! IGNORANCE! SO THE 2 STAR IS FOR WHOEVER IS AT THE TOP taking free items and being greedy to the people of our community!.Ps. PEOP STOP LETTING YOUR KIDS BE CRAZY AT ANY STORE! THIS ISNT YOUR HOME AND THW TOY ISLE ISN THER PLAYGROUND!!!!!!
Had the worst experience here today. Will be telling everyone I know to not shop or donate to this store.
The store is simple and clean. People are helpful and kind.
Went to City Thrift today to look for slacks or shorts for my grandsons school uniform. Found two pairs that I thought were promising oh, but they did not allow us to try them on in a dressing area. She said I could purchase them and return them if they did not fit but I chose not to do that.
Great deals and quality for little funds... the way to ball without cashflow.
They had just what I needed with an outstanding price.
Disappointing how far downhill the place has gone within the past two years.. prices are a literal joke. 10 year old very used & out dated jeans go for like $10 each. you can go to ross & get them brand new for that price. any “name brand” sweater / shirt is ridiculous, they go for $14+ not to mention they are stained & VERY used. workers suck & have horrible attitudes. they get the clothes for free, there is no need to charge retail prices. the person who is writing the prices needs to be reconsidered & have the pen taken away from them. for example: they had a pair of target pants with original tags for $8.98 & they wanted $9.98 lol. OH and the best part is they do NOT close at 9, they close when they are tired and want to go home.
Ive been going there for years love the place. Im not the type of person to go to Walmart but Im going this place.
Its very upsetting because I used to be an avid customer at City Thrift.I would say within the past three years, the prices have just skyrocketed. Every couple of months I try to shop there and I just end up getting upset. The only time you can score a decent deal is if you have the color of the day (equates to 50% off) or you shop on a 50% off day - sale. They are not a vintage boutique, and I feel they should stop pricing themselves as one.Secondly, they have this ongoing promotion, 5 STAR Thursday, were a customer gives them a 5 star review on social media and City Thrift offers that customer 50% off one department in the store. As far as I understand according to the FTC, incentivizing reviews is illegal.I have held off on leaving a review for a LONG time. But I figured things dont seem to be changing, and as a customer I should say something.
Love going to this store. I always find something awesome
The store has nice items, but their prices are high for a thrift store. I left with a couple things, but most stuff I passed on because the prices were outrageous for used items.
I used to LOVE this place. Now the prices are practically retail.Prices have DOUBLED!!! Sad.I hardly go anymore.
Not as good as it used to be... prices a bit high for the goods donated.
Ive been coming here since I was a kid, and I always love it
Today they were having a 50% off everything in the store. Great time to pick some extra items for summer! Great selection!
Good selection, good prices...we like this place!
I go to City Thrift at least twice a month. There is an amazing variety of goods -something for everyone, and everything is clean as a whistle, especially the clothing.
I went on half off day. Got lots of great deals. Stayed 3 hrs. Great place, great deals, but get there at least by 9, or the deals will fly off the shelf.
Prices could be more fair considering they get everything for free they want even negotiate with you
It was way too crowded for my liking.
Love this store. Addressing other reviews I agree for the most part the prices are fair. But for name brand jeans shoes or jackets they bump up the price. If they were a consignment that would be ok. But these are donated items. So a pair of jeans is a pair of jeans unless the condition warrants a lower price not an increase. I will still shop there
Good selection, used to be one of my favorite thrift stores. However, they recently raised their prices throughout the store. Seems like they doubled the cost.
Treasures can be found from time to time but for the most part anymore its ridiculously priced for a thrift store. They quite honestly and literally have plates that are currently on sale at DollarTree marked at $2 a piece and last time i was there there wasca set of 4 beer glasses in the box that had a retail price tag of $9.99 on the box but city thrift price was $14. Also a pretty sweet older underwater fish finder camera thing at a bargain of $149 or $169. Most expensive one anywhere on the introwebs was like $68.Its definitely worth a walk through from time to tie or on holidays but whoever makes up the prices needs to calm down a bit. Its not antiques roadshow.
They have way to many clothing racks. The staff was nice. My question is: Why are the Ipsy bags all vastly different in prices?
Good selection of items. Fair pricing, the staff is really kind.
Great store all the way around. Staff managers all do an exceptional job
If U need anything they got it I needed work pants, & I seen some great flat screen TVs
Awesome thrift store! Awesome deals and amazing finds for anyone of any age (❁´◡`❁)
Price stickers are superglued on and ruin any vintage items
Huge selection. And I want to clear something up. I see comments on here regarding City Thrift and their prices being too high when they get their stuff is donated like goodwill. That is actually NOT the case, and I feel like if your gonna rate a company you should ALWAYS have your facts strait. City Thrift is NOT a non-profit company like Goodwill. They are in FACT a for profit company therefore they cannot and do not except donations for resale. They are contracted with local Charities to purchase their donated inventory, giving the charities a way to make money as well. Therefore they price their items accordingly.
Not the place to be during a pandemic.Grandson likes to play with the toys. It is opinion, nothing is cleaned. Shelves sort of empty
You can find some nice clothes for cheap!
I like this store a lot, when I lived in Ormond By The Sea and Daytona Beach it was a regular place to donate outgrown clothing items and a great place to find super deals on top brand names as well as department store clothing furniture, books, toys, athletics and much more! They service the community in many ways! While there please visit the other small shoppes in the plaza that truly deserve your business too. Support small businesses!!❤❤
Always a Great Place to shop and save $$$Much of their clothing is like new... 🌞🌞🌞
1st time in city thrift and i absolutely fell in love with the store they had everything with anybodys personal style one of the best thrift stores I will definitely be going back
Lots of inventory but a little high priced on some of the stuff for being a thrift store.
Great prices and awesome deals
This is one of the best thrift stores in Volusia County forget Goodwill or Salvation Army their prices are very good huge selection the people there that work there are very helpful if you need any kind of clothes or kitchenware even furniture this is the place to go
Items with no price are not sold, per corporate policy, that’s ridiculous. Grab an item that could be used for a price...
If you shop there on a 50% off day (usually holidays) bring plenty of patience. The checkout line can be over an hour long to get out of there. Good deals can be had but you’ll have to wait in a long long line to pay.
This store has a lot of used items to see, unfortunately, most of them are overpriced. They have 50% off certain colors one day a week but they have been seen removing those highlighted colors on the day of the sale to force you to buy the other colors. My biggest complaint is they allow un-masked people to shop there.... so unsafe and so unprofessional during this pandemic. I went in yesterday and there was no disinfecting of any surface, be it cart, door knobs or counter tops... nothing. They think the pandemic is over I guess, hope it doesnt turn around and bite them.
The staff is always helpful and there’s a wide variety of things to find. There’s a seniors discount day my grandma can’t resist. Dressers for under $60, clothes galore and some new shoes sometimes even. Never know what you will find here!
Too overpriced. I used to like shopping here. But the pricing on everything is ridiculous. Ive starting going elsewhere.
A nice place for gently used goods at a great prices!Be sure to check their calendar for discount days like Tuesday is Senior discount day.
Honestly....I know theyre raising money for folks but I cant help but think the percentages are immoral. The prices are being raised weekly for about a year now ...its hard....to return but I dont have a choice to shop retail....its still cheaper then some retail....
Clothes are cheap and plentiful. Lots of sales, but they go by internet prices when they price some items. Im not paying full price for a doll whos hair has seen better days and the box is trashed.
200$ shoes for 16.
Always find something at this store 😁
No longer giving you a coupon when you donate items. Not the first time they’ve done this. It definitely affects people bringing stuff in. So, now no coupon and someone there pricing who thinks every shirt in the place is worth at least $7.99. Good luck guys. I’ll come back and visit when your prices are more reasonable and you start giving coupons again.
I used to work here, its a great place to get things u need when on a budget plenty to choose from.
Excellent thrift store. Clean and well organized. Well staffed with kind people.
Furniture and other non-clothing items weren’t great, but the clothing selection was amazing!
Very poor customer service nobody knows whats going on in the store and the 4th of July they had a 50% off sale I bought several items electronical items that when I plugged it in they did not work and there were several other people there that bought electric on items and they did not work either ??? ( Went Back On Good Friday April 19Th, Same Thing This Store Sucks You Plug Any Thing In And It Doesnt Work ??? I Would Think Some One Would See If Any Thing Works Instead Of Putting A Price Tag On It And Put On The Shelf, But I Will Be Buying From Amazon Now ) 🤔🍺🤔
Huge store with lots to choose from. Prices are not the lowest compared to other thrift stores but for the cleanliness and variety they offer, they ought to be charging little extra, totally worth. Great finds! Amazing sweet people. Also got a deal for $5 off on purchase of $10 for first time customers, that’s cherry on the ice cream! Absolutely loved the experience.
Super sweet employees and better organized than Goodwill and cleaner!
City Thrift had a 50% off everything, for St. Patricks Day, but only had two registers open. REALLY !!!!
Favorite thrift store. We always find something we love.
Nice I shop there alots . Some things are to high I think in there but I just buy what I can afford. But It is very clean in the store. I like it.
Very nice park to go to
Wonderful place with tons of great deals. Out of all the thrift stores in our area this store ranks number for everything. Found these almost new Nike Free Run 5.0 for $8.98! They are $90.00 retail new. Shop here and save huge! Enjoy...
Friendly & helpful staff. Wide variety of clothing & household items
Lots of great finds everytime! Good deals with lots to see! Really nice customer service. Always have a special going on. And did I mention it was huge? Highly recommend.
Very well stocked as always. I do think its a little overpriced though.
Great stuff. Never know what u will find. Happy hunting
Not the best place to work until the company hires a good manager that actually has a background in retail. The turnover rate is high because the people they continue to hire to run the stores dont have an education and/or background in retail. You have drug addicts, felons, and thieves being hired because management doesnt properly screen applicants. There are managers taking depression pills during business hours, new employees not being trained properly, product being stolen (LP issue) and customers being mishandled, etc etc etc. Corporate needs to step in before they end up with a very nasty lawsuit.
Yes, they have a lot of stuff. Yes, you can find some great deals. But as far as thrift stores go, I feel they are a little high on their prices, and the location is rough. There are better options in the area.
Been buying jigsaw puzzles there for year & take them back when Im done. All of a sudden they jacked the prices up $1 $2 a piece. Wont buy anymore there!!!!!!
I always find something good, the shoe section is highly underrated! They have a great selection of jeans and T-shirts. Highly recommend for anyone who’s on a budget but enjoys shopping around.
This thrift store is legit and they have sweet weekly 50 and 30% off sales. Clothing is in the front and everything else is in the side room. They also have big sales on holidays.
Expensive for a resale store. Seems like they price everything HIGH so they can still get what it’s worth on half off day.I did buy two things but they were half off priced.I don’t recommend it at all.
Love this thrift store! Lil pricey on some stuff but for the most part I ALWAYS find treasures here!
Definitely the best.. great deals all the time amd name brand clothes for cheap..
Always treasure to find.
Great bargains and very nice quality clothing! The staff is always quick with a smile and ready to assist at anything. One of the better consignment shops in the Daytona Beach area 😊
Find everything you need.in a jift only at City Thrift.....My go to store for bargains galore
BEST Thrift Store! Love how the clothes are clean and dont find any problems with any of the clothes. I spend $100 on average per month at this Store! Love the Shoes, Dresses, pants, jeans, tops, miscellaneous items and furniture. I bought a beautiful Stanley Dinning room set for $300! I got 6 chairs, table and lit china cabinet. Its so nice to serve dinner, with company over, on it. I love the sized clothes, makes it so quick and easy to find what I need, as a working woman, I dont have time to look through a long rack of mixed gender jeans to find my size.
I love doing my thrifty shopping here
I love coming to city thrift but when I came in today I was treated very very rudely by three of the staff members... I will be obtaining the video from today and I will be getting in touch with Corp to have something done about those three employees. They make the store trash and a customer SHOULD NEVER BE TOLD SHE IS WRONG WHEN THERE IS PROOF !!!
Prices are ridiculously high for a thrift store.Example: Most other thrift stores in the area charge $0.10 to $0.50 for a book. City Thrift charges $1 for a used paperback / $2 for a used hardcover.Used DVDs $2 ea.. I buy better condition DVDs elsewhere for $1 eaMost of the employees are rude. Place has a ton of employee turnover (which is always a red flag). The checkout process usually takes forever. There are much better options in the area.
Good deals
City thrift is so bomb yall go get fitted up
Awesome selection of clothing, books, and household items. Every year when we come to Daytona for our family vacation, we always make sure to stop there because its got something for everyone. Staff are always helpful and nice.
The fact that you have to show Identification for your own debit card is beyond ridiculous! That place was ok a year ago...but way to ghetto now!! Never coming back
Prices are high on most of their items that I have shopped for. They do a store-wide 50% off sale a few times a year, and act like its the event of the season, even though other thrift stores in the are run similar sales once a week. Their books are $0.99 for paperback & $1.99 for hardcover. I go other thrift stores in the area that sell books for $0.10 to $0.25 a piece every day of the year. Dvds are $2 and a lot of them are movies that you can buy at Walmart for $4-5 brand new. Most thrift stores charge $0.50 to $1.00 for dvds. Thats just a few examples that I can thing=k of right off the top of my head. The staff is constantly changing, and they are always hiring (which is always a red-flag to me). The management is rude though, which Im sure makes it an unpleasant place to work.. Most of the cashiers are incredible slow, and they always seem really nervous about making a mistake. I guess that goes back to my point about management..They do get a ton of clothing, which I have never personally shopped for there, but it seems to be a nice ever-changing selection for people whom are shopping for clothing.
I was discriminated at this store...Any woman can walk in with their bag or purse.. but when I walked in with my back pack (because I drive a motorcycle,), I was asked to leave it at the registers... There were several woman with their bags.....and was singled out.... will never shop at this place again.... where a woman can walk in with all her personal belongings, that is, purse or handbags, and when I walked in with a backpack on my back, they ask me to leave it at the register, where they are not responsible for anyones property. They basically called me a thief when my intention was to purchase Christmas figurines for decoration. I am insulted and seriously considering to proceed with legal action. Had a similar problem with another company and they have taken the proper procedure to revise company policy and now anyone can walk into said business without the harassment or indirect insult. They either ask everyone including all women and men to leave their bags up front or they accept everyone to carry their bags around......Legal action may be the only way to get companies to not single out individuals based on their sex....and they are making a big fuzz and insulting their customers on donated items...... Theyre worried about stuff that was given to them for free being stolen.....
